Restaurant Taj Mahal in Koblenz

Leckeres, authentisches Essen und sehr freundlicher Service! Vorspeisenteller war recht dürftig, würde ich nicht nochmal bestellen, Hauptgang war aber sehr lecker und super gewürzt!

Die Atmosphäre war angenehm, aber das Essen war für den Preis enttäuschend. Das bestellte Biryani schmeckte überhaupt nicht nach Biryani. Das Personal war höflich, was ich sehr schätzte, aber insgesamt war das Erlebnis eher ernüchternd.

Sehr Gute Essen schnell Service und respektvoll voll Besitzer von Resturent freundlich immer wieder .

Ich war im Taj Mahal Restaurant zum Abendessen und es war sehr lecker und ausgezeichnet.

Ich hatte leider das Vergnügen, bei diesem indischen Restaurant zu bestellen. Als Inder, der die Küche meines Landes sehr schätzt, rate ich dringend davon ab, dieses Lokal zu besuchen. Das Essen war ungenießbar und roch widerlich. Der Geschmack war einfach nur abstoßend, und dass sie so etwas als indisches Essen verkaufen, ist eine Frechheit. Ich musste die gesamte Bestellung wegwerfen.

War seit langem noch mal Indisch Essen. Der Service war gut, ob wohl der Kellner mich nicht verstanden hat. Und das Essen war na ja. Hat schon besser geschmeckt. Die Soße war sehr wässrig und geschmacklich sehr lasch.

Das war keine schöne Erfahrung. Die Lage ist zwar super, mitten im Zentrum an einem Platz, mit Sitzplätzen drinnen und draußen, aber das war's dann auch schon. Es dauerte ewig, bis jemand unsere Bestellung aufnahm. Dann dauerte es noch länger, bis wir unser Essen bekamen. Wir merkten sofort, dass unsere Bestellung falsch war, sagten es dem Personal, woraufhin sie das Gericht mitnahmen und 10 Minuten später mit demselben Gericht zurückkamen, weil sie dachten, wir wollten das. Als wir verneinten und das richtige Gericht nannten, mussten wir weitere 30 Minuten warten. Inzwischen waren unser Naan und der Reis kalt. Immerhin brachten sie uns freundlicherweise eine neue Schüssel Reis. Aber das Essen selbst war nicht gut. Es schmeckte überhaupt nicht nach indischem Essen. Ich weiß nicht einmal, ob man es deutsch-indische Küche nennen kann. Außerdem waren die Portionen ziemlich klein. Wir waren nach zwei Gerichten, zwei Schüsseln Reis und Naan – geteilt durch zwei Personen – immer noch hungrig. Es hat sich leider nicht gelohnt.

Kam zum ersten Mal rein und habe direkt gratis Essen bekommen. Dazu noch eine sehr freundliche Bedienung und generell leckeres Essen

Ich war kürzlich in diesem Restaurant essen und bin wirklich begeistert! Das Essen war unglaublich lecker, frisch zubereitet und liebevoll angerichtet.

Der Service ist fantastisch und das Essen, insbesondere das Hähnchen mit Gemüse und das Lamm mit Gemüse, ist doppelt so lecker – unbedingt probieren!

Ich habe schon in vielen Restaurants gegessen, aber das vegetarische Curry und die Gewürze hier haben mich total überzeugt. Dieses Restaurant ist super, um vegetarisches Curry oder Grillgerichte zu probieren ... meiner Meinung nach das beste der Stadt.

Mein Partner und ich waren hier essen und waren sehr enttäuscht. Hatten uns auf authentische indische Küche gefreut. Fleisch war zwar durch, aber geschmacklich keine gute Qualität und die Soße war wässrig und mit Gewürzen überfüllt. Der Reis war leider aus nicht das wahre…trocken gekocht und auch geschmacklich nicht lecker. Ambiente ein bisschen in die Jahre gekommen (was nicht schlimm ist grundsätzlich) aber es war für das Gefühl ungemütlich und wenig warm und freundlich eingerichtet. Service war gut und höflich. Für uns leider kein Lokal für ein Wiedersehen.

Für mich hat das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis nicht gepasst. Die Vorspeisenplatte für 4 Personen ist wohl eher für 2 Personen geeignet. Dann waren bei der Hauptspeise 2 der 6 Fleischstücke noch roh innen und als Gemüsebeilage gab es den Strunk eines Blumenkohls. Die Kellnerin reagierte auf die Information eher abweisend. Sie gebe es an die Küche weiter und da könne sie nichts machen, da sie mit der Küche nichts zu tun hat.

Alles in einem gut, aber nicht wow! Die gemischte Vorspeisenplatte war zwar sehr lecker, aber etwas einseitig, hier hätten wir uns mehr Auswahl gewünscht. Die Hauptspeisen wurden in „Mediumscharf“ bestellt, es kam uns sehr mild vor und der „Gewürzkick“ hat gefehlt. Das Fleisch war jedoch sehr gut zubereitet. Der Kellner hatte permanent einen Kopfhörer im Ohr und die Kellnerin kommunizierte leider gar nicht.

Die Gerichte zum Mittagstisch sind sehr lecker.

Mittagessen. Sehr schöner, vielseitiger Vorspeisenteller. Als Hauptgericht hatten wir je ein Kormagericht, Rind,Huhn. Hat uns etwas enttäuscht. Geschmacklich blass. Der früher gewohnte ausdrucksstarke Kokusnussgeschmack kam gar nicht mehr rüber. Schade.

Der Salat war nicht sauber. Die Suppe war lecker. Die Hauptspeise (Chicken Hawaii) war Hausmannskost. Anrichten war nicht gegeben. Service war versuchsweise nett aber nicht wirklich gut. Wir gehen öfter zum Inder aber dieser muss sich ganz hinten anstellen.

Super lecker !! Nettes Personal. Nachtrag 14.03.26 Immer noch super lecker. Kann ich nur empfehlen!

Hervorragende Innenstadtlage, super freundlicher Service, gepflegtes und schmackhaftes Essen. Einzig die Toiletten wirken etwas " abgerockt". Bis bald.

Wir kamen kurz vor Ladenschluss an und wurden trotzdem herzlich empfangen, was wir sehr zu schätzen wussten. Das Essen war zwar durchschnittlich, aber der Service war wirklich herausragend. Die Samosas und das Paneer Sabzi waren definitiv die Highlights.

Fast 1 Stunde gewartet bis das Esssen vorbereitet war, unglaublich.

Wir waren zu unserem Jahrestag das zweite Mal dort und haben wieder super lecker gegessen. Die Bedienung ist flott und sehr freundlich. Als wir mit unserem Essen fertig waren, sind wir gegangen und sind kurz darauf wiedergekommen, weil ich meinen Ohrring irgendwo an dem Abend verloren hatte. Ich kontrollierte kurz den Platz und bin dann runter zu den Toiletten. Als ich wieder hoch kam, habe ich erst gesehen, dass die zwei Bedienungen den halben Laden auseinander nahmen auf der Suche nach meinem Ohrring. Leider hatte ich ihn nicht im Laden verloren, aber der Einsatz hat mir viel bedeutet! 🖤

Ein toller Ort für authentische pakistanische und indische Halal-Küche in Koblenz. Wir haben Channa Alo Salan, Tandoori Chicken und Paratha probiert. Das Essen war sehr lecker, und zum Abschluss gab es noch einen Karak Chai/Tee, der ebenfalls gut war. Leider haben wir ein Glas Mango-Lassi zerbrochen, aber der Besitzer war so nett und hat keine Entschädigung verlangt. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

Sehr schönes und authentisches Restaurant. Der Service war sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Das Essen war sehr lecker, das Essen meiner Freundin war allerdings nicht ganz so lecker und die Soße sehr wässrig. Das Naan mit Knoblauch hat mir sehr gefallen. Ansonsten ein gutes Restaurant!

Die Grill und brottt schmeckt sehr lecker

Wir gehen nicht oft indisch essen. Wir empfanden das Essen als lecker und den Service als freundlich. Wir haben die Speisen medium scharf bestellt, dies empfanden wir aber als ein wenig zu mild - ist sicherlich Geschmacksache. Was wir als gut empfanden war das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis. Das Ambiente war in Ordnung und ruhig, die Sitzmöbel bequem. Durchaus empfehlenswert.

Wer wirklich gut indisch essen möchte, der meide dieses Restaurant. Den Speisen fehlt es an den typisch aromatischen, indischen Gewürzen und die Portionen sind sehr klein. Die Vorspeisen sind teuer und das Brot pappig. Nicht empfehlenswert!!

The Taj Mahal is beautifully and centrally located in a pleasant spot in Koblenz. The staff was extremely friendly – ​​truly warm and attentive, which we really appreciated. Unfortunately, the food overall wasn't entirely convincing. The main courses were generally delicious, especially the meat dishes. However, the okra in the vegetarian dish was extremely slimy, and the appetizers were also rather mediocre – the yogurt sauce was quite bland, and some dishes were a bit lacking in flavor. It was particularly disappointing: the naan bread was unfortunately not good, which is obviously a crucial point for an Indian restaurant. Useful information: There are no alcoholic beverages, which is perfectly fine, but it's worth mentioning. The restrooms were okay, but could be cleaned more regularly. Overall, friendly service in a beautiful location, but the food could have been better – hence the three stars.

The food was delicious. The service was very friendly, with one exception: we had to pay quite quickly because it was very busy. Great atmosphere.

We've been to many different Indian restaurants, and we didn't like this one that much. The food was okay, but not as spicy as elsewhere, and the portions were rather small. For the main course, you could choose between rice and naan, and there was only one naan (which we didn't find outstanding either). Of course, we can only draw on previous experiences from other Indian restaurants, but three of us independently agreed.

Unfortunately, we were a bit disappointed. The two of us were there for lunch and were really looking forward to Indian food. The starter – pakoras (vegetables coated in chickpea batter) – was truly delicious and well-executed. The main courses, however, unfortunately didn't impress us. Both the lamb sabzi and the aloo gobi masala were very mild for our taste and seemed to lack the typical Indian spices.

Oh well, not everything can be delicious. As a group, none of us were impressed. The service also went a bit wrong.

We had to wait a full 40 minutes from the moment we arrived for our first drink order, which is a major downside. After we ordered our food, different waiters kept coming with drinks, or food we hadn't ordered, but another table had. This happened at least five times. Until we finally got our drinks and the food we had ordered. The waiters were friendly, but completely disorganized. They could have accommodated us in some way, but that didn't happen. The portions are small, and unfortunately, the price isn't justified. The taste was okay. We wouldn't go back again.

Unfortunately disappointed. The two of us went out for dinner and were both looking forward to Indian food. The starter, Indian bread filled with minced meat, was excellent. The main courses, however, were rather bland, considering our taste for Indian food. Both the chicken masala and the beef with yellow beans had hardly any flavor. It was as if the typical Indian spices were completely missing. The service was very friendly and prompt.

Excellent cuisine, impeccable service, honest prices

There were three of us at the restaurant and we ordered chicken, lamb, and mixed vegetables. The flavor was okay, but not as spicy as we would have liked (despite ordering "spicy"). The mango lassi tasted more like a yogurt lassi with a yellow color – a bit more mango would have been better. The waitress seemed a bit inexperienced and had difficulty serving, but she was friendly and helpful. I found the prices rather high for what was offered. The positive thing was the quiet atmosphere, as there was no one else in the restaurant. This allowed us to relax and chat.

The food here is good. We have tried different items and all were nice. My personal favourite is Chicken Tandoori

A very large selection of delicious food and drinks. I was also very surprised by the Lassies.

Visiting from the US and decided to stop into this Pakistani-Punjabi run restaurant as I saw it was halal. Had a seekh kabab roll and mango lassi. Both were 10/10 and the service was fantastic. The food was better than pretty much 99% of Pakistani/Indian restaurants I’ve had in the US.

Indian restaurant right in Koblenz's old town! Easily accessible on foot from the surrounding parking lots! Nice atmosphere and friendly service! Most importantly: Absolutely excellent Indian food! Whether appetizers, main courses, or desserts! Highly recommended! I'll be back!

The food was perfect .Enjoyed it plus the service was too good .

The food was delicious, but consisted mostly of rice, as the meat in the sauce was really only a very small portion. The first portion of rice was free, but seconds were charged. There were no additional items like papadam or naan bread as a welcome from the kitchen. It was tasty, but I can't recommend it because of the small portion size.

I've been there for the first time in YEARS, and I was not disappointed! Great food, great service, great atmosphere, and the price/performance ratio is still right! Highly recommended, hence 5 stars all around!

Exceptionally delicious food. I highly recommend the Chicken Korma! We sat outside, the kids could play in the Münzplatz, and we relaxed. The service was very friendly. We'll be back!

From samosa hope to paneer hangover The starter? Samosas, crispy and okay – not a highlight, but a solid start. The mango lassi? Also okay, creamy and fruity, but not what you dream about at night. Everything was fine up to this point. But then came the main courses... Anyone hoping for a culinary adventure here is more likely to experience a tour through the desert of tastelessness. The flavor of the Chicken Tikka Masala was so mild that we wondered if the chef had accidentally seasoned it with just tap water. More of a tomato sauce with an identity crisis than a taste highlight. And the paneer? Served with vegetables but a sad affair even for a vegetarian. Lacking any seasoning and with a texture that fell somewhere between dry and boring, it was more chore than indulgence. We agreed: If the vegetable could talk, it would have asked us for salvation. As we looked at our plates in confusion, the waitress assured us: “This is our medium seasoning.” Oh, right. Then “medium” here means “no risk at all”. And spicy? Presumably that the cook breathes sharply. Conclusion: Samosas and mango lassi were okay, but the main dishes - especially the paneer - were a blind flight in terms of taste. Even vegetarians have no fun here. If you come by anyway, you should definitely pack a spice shaker beforehand. At least we were able to enjoy the evening with humor, because sometimes laughter is the best flavor.

Dieses Restaurant hat sehr wenig zu bieten was Kulinarik angeht. Für indisches Essen war dies viel zu schwach gewürzt und damit meine ich nicht die Schärfe, die hier ja jeder so lobt, sondern die Gewürzvielfalt. Alles was wir bestellt hatten schmeckte recht fad und irgendwie gleich. Auch die Kommunikation war nicht einfach. Allergene sind komplett nicht ausgewiesen, daher konnten wir nicht sehen welche Gerichte Laktose enthalten und welche nicht. Auf Nachfrage hatte ein Gericht bei der einen Servicekraft Laktose, ein anderer Servicemitarbeiter sagte es hätte keine, schwierig. Alles in allem von uns keine Empfehlung, das geht deutlich besser. Zudem lässt das Restaurant Rezessionen löschen.

The food was okay, nothing special but not particularly bad either. A bit blandly seasoned. The service was quick, but not particularly friendly. The atmosphere was very nice. The prices were reasonable, but you had to pay for a rice refill every time. I don't know that and I don't think it's okay.

The restaurant has the typically nice atmosphere that you would expect in an Indian restaurant. The service was very friendly and attentive. We enjoyed the food. The soup beforehand wasn't bad, but the price was a bit high. The main courses were delicious. The selection of meat platters was good, there was a bit of everything. The tikka masala was also delicious. Overall, everything was tasty, but nothing special. Overall we were satisfied. If you like Indian food in Koblenz, you can't go wrong here. But be careful, if you don't like it too spicy, you shouldn't order spicy here. The sharpness was quite good.

Very nicely decorated restaurant, with excellent food, definitely some of the best Pakistani/Indian food I have ever had in Germany. The ambiance was perfect and the staff was very friendly. We also appreciated a good selection of non alcoholic drinks. They have vegan options and it’s a 100% Halal restaurant.

Update 2024: Unfortunately no longer recommended. We planned an almost two-hour visit (reserved) and had to scarf down our food in the last 10 minutes because we waited so long and then had an appointment. Even the starters didn't arrive for over an hour. Additionally, the quality of the food (subjectively) decreased and the portions were still quite small. You can feel sorry for the two waiters; you should have simply accepted fewer guests, but the restaurant wasn't even full. Similar complaints were heard from the neighboring tables. Two stars for the very solid food and the nicely furnished dining room. However, the service was subpar or non-existent. "Mild, medium or spicy?" - The young man actually didn't say or ask anything else all evening. But he was hardly at our table despite the low occupancy. We were able to observe that things could be different with the Indian guests at the neighboring table, who arrived there during our stay and were well looked after. The food really wasn't bad and the menu was very appealing. Also for vegetarians. If we are in Koblenz again and are hungry, we might give the restaurant a second chance.

Overall, our visit to the restaurant during a short vacation in Koblenz was disappointing and rather annoying. We had to wait a very long time for the food - after all, it came almost cold (and without a warming candle structure underneath), in fairly small portions and had very little taste. The service was friendly and tried hard, but quite overwhelmed. The fact that our group didn't have enough side dishes (rice, naan) at the table and we had to argue with the owner (successfully) to get the ones that were still outstanding further confirmed the negative impression ("In 20 years it will still be "No one ever complained about the portion size." I often go out for Indian food at different places and have never experienced a situation in which everyone involved had completely eaten their portions at the end, but was still hungry and also disappointed with the food. Unfortunately, given the combination of circumstances, absolutely no recommendation.

Was repeatedly in the Taj Mahal restaurant. Luckily there was a table available that we hadn't reserved. The staff is always friendly. If you love Indian cuisine, you should definitely visit the Taj Mahal. Great selection of Indian dishes, at a reasonable price.

Not recommendable! We ate at the Taj Mahal for the first and last time. - the staff is very unfriendly - the portions for a main course were far too small! For the price it was really exorbitant. For 2 drinks and 2 really small portions almost 50€?! - the meat was also dry and not properly seasoned The visit was really disappointing.

Wir waren eine Gruppe von 5 Personen. Gäste gesamt im Restaurant: 8-10 Personen. Wir kenne das Restaurent schon von früheren Besuchen (Anderer Betreiber?). mindestens 20 Minuten, bis wir Getränke und Speisen bestellen konnten (Ich mußte den Kellner dazu auffordern, an unseren Tisch zu kommen). Das Essen wurde nicht gemeinsam serviert. Nach dem Essen mußte ich den Kellner wieder von seiner Handy-Spielerei hinter der Theke abbringen, um das Geschirr abzuräumen. Danach war 30-40 Minuten niemnd mehr an unserem Tisch. Unsere Getränke waren getrunken, aber das interessierte nicht. Schade, aber dieses Lokal wird uns nie wireder sehen.
