Restaurant SYRTAKI in Euskirchen

We were a group of four for dinner. Two of the dishes were completely oversalted and inedible! We sent them back. Then we were told those dishes were no longer available. After a long wait, two other dishes were brought, which were also unacceptable. No apology or discount was offered. It was supposed to be a nice evening, but we will never set foot in this restaurant again.

The food was delicious and fresh. The restaurant is a bit dated and the service wasn't worth 5 stars.

How can I possibly explain my 3-star rating? After all, nothing was truly "bad"... but nothing was truly "good" either. But first things first. While looking for a restaurant, the rain started, and I found myself standing in front of Syrtaki. Greek food is always good, so I sat down in the moderately busy dining room. My order was taken quickly and promptly delivered in the form of a drink and a starter salad. The main course arrived a little later (Thessaloniki plate). Why only 3 stars? Yes, the meat was on the grill a little too long for my taste, but it was far from overcooked. I dutifully ate everything. What I missed was the cozy atmosphere that I love so much in many Greek restaurants. The waitress was always approachable, but they still sat "bored" in front of their laptops watching a video stream. It's the feeling of being welcome as a guest... and not the feeling of disturbing the host during their TV evening. I hope I was able to convey my feelings and perhaps the operator is reading this and can understand my thoughts.

We were there again three weeks ago, after a long break, with six people. There was no greeting, no thank you, and no "please." When you're working with young temporary staff, which I very much welcome, you have to tell them a little something about the restaurant business. However, even the long-time waiter had somehow forgotten how to be friendly... It's a shame, we used to enjoy coming here from time to time.

Friendly staff, good prices, delicious food, and a large outdoor area on the market square... perfect for summer evenings...

We were really disappointed on our last visit. The staff wasn't particularly friendly, and we had to wait almost an hour for our food—and no, it wasn't very busy. I ordered a large drink, but only got a small one. The glasses were quickly emptied, and even though the server kept walking past the table, they simply ignored it. I have to say, it was a very warm day. The food didn't impress me either, and we've actually decided not to spend our money there next time. What a shame!

The food was generally very tasty, but the price-performance ratio is catastrophic: €17 for a gyro plate that isn't even close to full... you can get at least 50% more for that money at many places.

Good restaurant with friendly service

There were three of us there. We ordered fish and a gyro mix plate... Drinks were delivered in small portions, even though we ordered large ones. We waited quite a long time for the food... The fish was much too small, and the gyro mix plate was partly undercooked, and the portion was also too small... I've had much better food for the same/cheaper price...

We waited a very long time for food and drinks; all drinks were delivered in the smallest size, even though we ordered "large" (e.g., a 0.2L Coke, even though the menu says 0.4L). The food wasn't particularly tasty; the fries lacked salt, the Suzuki was still raw inside, the souvlaki was very tough, and the gyro wasn't seasoned properly. The portions were also extremely meager for a Greek restaurant, especially considering the prices.

There's no waiting time for a table. However, after ordering, you do have to wait a bit longer for the food for four people. When ordering large drinks, only small versions are served (tested with Bitburger and soft drinks), but you're charged accordingly. The food was lightly seasoned and quite a bit underwhelming for the price. The onions were good, though.

Today was our first time at Syrtaki. Unfortunately, it took 1.5 hours for the food to arrive. The fries were horrible, as if they had already been in the fryer several times. Hard and extremely greasy. We won't be back. Other guests were also angry; some simply left.

Das Restaurant ist recht schmal aber dafür lang und über die Einrichtung lässt sich vielleicht streiten aber wichtiger ist mir der Geschmack der Speisen. Die waren ausnahmslos gut bis sehr gut. Wenn ich nochmal in der Ecke sein sollte würde ich wiederkommen aber dann bei schönem Wetter auf dem schönen Marktplatz denn da bietet das Syrtaki auch viele Außenplätze an

die Sauberkeit der Tische und Speisenkarten im Außenbereich lässt sehr zu wünschen übrig . Das Essen muss schon länger am Grill gestanden haben , der Gyrros war total trocken und der Geschmack war etwas müffig . Die Metaxasosse hätte ruhig etwas Metaxa vertragen können . Wir hatten uns auf einen schönen Abend gefreut und waren zum Schluß seh enttäuscht nach Hause gegangen

Love this place. It's a really authentic, friendly and popular Greek restaurant on the Alter Markt in the centre of Euskirchen. The menu is comprehensive with a lot of choice, as well as huge portions to boot. Value was absolutely superb - two huge meals, a fresh side salad too, beer, wine, water came to less than €50. It's no wonder this place was busy!

Great taste, especially the grilled pepperoni appetizer is a feast for the palate

An absolute insider tip for all lovers of Greek cuisine! The food was excellent – ​​the Bifteki and the Athens Plate in particular are highly recommended. Good value for money. Very friendly service. Enjoys great popularity. The outdoor dining area is also beautifully located with a view of the Alter Markt in Euskirchen. The mixed starter platter includes, among other things, a very tasty taramo cream and can be served as a main course. Dishes with liver, lamb and not forgetting taramas are particularly recommended! Ouzo is available free of charge as a digestive. YIA MAS! ☺

Carelessly furnished restaurant in which plywood panels were screwed onto the actual table tops with screws. The furnishings feel like they are at least 20 years old and a renovation would be highly recommended. The breaded sheep's cheese was also served carelessly. The main courses were good in terms of quality and quantity. With a few tablecloths and a little table decoration the whole thing would be much more inviting. At least the boss was very friendly and accommodating, hence 3 stars.

We were there for the first time with friends a week ago. The food was very tasty and you didn't have to wait long. Hermes Hodolides (Vasily Sarikakis from Lindenstrasse) Served the food personally. He is super nice and you were allowed to take photos with him. Definitely coming back

As a former Lindenstrasse fan, we really wanted to check out the Sirtaki restaurant with the hope of getting to know Hermes (Vassili Sarikakis). The food was excellent and we were even able to take photos and have a nice conversation with the former actor.

The first impression was good, as you would expect from a Greek restaurant. The choice of food and the service were very promising. First, as usual, a salad. Then came the food - the portions are well calculated to fill you up but the quality left a lot to be desired. Knuckle hot on the outside cold on the inside just doesn't work. The gyros, on the other hand, was quite good and so were the typical Mediterranean side dishes. Then you were ignored by the service until you paid and the restaurant wasn't full. Price-performance was not consistent

My wife and I came here yesterday with a voucher book. The service was good and the food was excellent and prepared quickly. We will come back.

Was eating here for the fourth time. The food is really tasty, the service is friendly and the atmosphere is very cozy. In summer you can sit nicely at the market.

Ich war mal wieder in Euskirchen und hatte Lust auf authentische griechische Küche. Da man im Syrtaki auch draussen sehr angenehm sitzen kann, sind wir dort eingekehrt. Der Empfang war gewohnt freundlich und das Essen kam recht zügig. Die Qualität der Speisen war ebenfalls sehr gut und ich komme gerne wieder.

Auch in diesem Jahr waren wir wieder mit einer Gruppe von 15 Personen bei Hermes und seinem Team zum Abendessen. Es ist immer wieder schön dort, das Essen war sehr lecker und frisch und der Service war freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Essen wurde allen gleichzeitig serviert, so dass wir zusammen essen konnten. Da ich gerne immer wieder andere Sachen bestelle, habe ich mich dieses Mal für Moussaka entschieden. Das Gericht wurde schön heiß serviert, war sehr schmackhaft zubereitet und reichlich. Ich mochte sehr, dass es nicht triefend vor Öl serviert wurde, was bei Moussaka öfters mal der Fall sein kann. Begleitet wurde das Essen von einem frischen Beilagensalat. Auch dieses Mal passte wieder alles! Klare Empfehlung, Daumen hoch und bis bald.

Ich war im August 2024 zum 4. Mal mit einer Gruppe da. Trotz dass es sehr voll war, haben wir auf unser Essen nicht lange warten müssen. Ich hatte Gyros mit gebratenen Champignons und Pommes. Es war superlecker !!!! Hermes und jeder vom Personal waren sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Draussen wie drinnen ist es eine schöne Atmosphären dort. Ich war definitiv nicht zum letzten Mal dort.

Wir sind mit einer Gruppe von 15 Leuten hier. Trotz das es im allgemeinen sehr voll war wurden wir schnell bedient und unsere Bestellung kam schnell und gleichzeitig. Die Bedienung ist sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Ich hatte den Gyrosteller mit Tzaziki und Pommes. Ich muss sagen selten so ein leckeres Gyros gegessen. Als Nachspeise hatte ich Bougatsa auch die einfach nur lecker. Alles in allem hat sich unsere Gruppe hier einfach nur wohl gefühlt und wir werden wiederkommen.

Food is still very tasty. Service great. Service very attentive and friendly. You can relax and enjoy your meal outside on the Old Market. But the plates are very manageable and not lavishly filled, as one is used to from Greeks. The price of the dishes has risen dramatically compared to last year and the portions have become smaller. We will continue to eat there, just not as often.

Wir waren zwar nicht vor Ort, aber wir haben bestellt zum Ausliefern. Wir hatten … ein Gyros komplett. Einmal Gyros mit Fritten ohne alles und zwei Pita Gyros. Und es war ein absoluter Witz, meine Pita hatte total dunkles Brot keinen Salat nur zwei Scheibchen Tomaten, Fritten (die ich nicht bestellt habe)und wenn es hochkommt 10 Stücke trockenes Fleisch. Mein Sohn (Gyros Fritten) hatte so wenig Fleisch drauf, das mein Mann sein Fleisch geteilt hat, damit er überhaupt was hat. Von meinem Mann das Gyros komplett waren zu große Stücke und zu Trocken und es wurde nicht komplett geliefert, sondern alles in extra eingepackt. Er hatte auch noch eine Pita der aber wirklich komisch geschmeckt hat. Und für alles haben wir 48 Euro bezahlt. Ein Gyros kostet sagenhafte 16,80 für mehr Fritten und paar Stücke Fleisch. Absolut nicht gerechtfertigt und abzocke. Also das war das erste und das letzte Mal.

We had a delicious meal, but we were put aside in the restaurant, which was a little less pleasant. There is probably no other way to separate that, the restaurant is in two parts. I think the disadvantage is that the service also has to take this into account. We received very friendly service, but no one came to us after serving to ask if we wanted to order anything else.

Gyros with Metaxa sauce were okay, although the sauce was missing that certain something, it was just too neutral in taste. In many other Greek restaurants I have been served much better Metaxa sauces. The salad dressing also lacked any spices. Unfortunately, the prices are too high for this and do not match the prices on their website, sometimes differences of around €3 per dish.

You just have to say it like it is. In all respects this restaurant was absolute class. There were 13 of us there and the food came quickly and, above all, everyone at the table got their food at the same time. The food was convincing across the board and the service was at the table at all times to ask if everything was OK. I would visit this restaurant again at any time and recommend it.

Were there today after the thermal baths. Large selection and friendly staff. The food came to the table really quickly. We don't know anything like that anymore. The young waiter was very polite and on the ball. We felt comfortable and the food was delicious.

They gave us dinner despite going relatively late for the area at 9:00 p.m. The menu was quite varied in both drinks and food. They invited us to have a shot of ouzo at the end of the area but as a counter to saying that they did not allow us to pay with American Express despite being clearly identified on the door

Had dinner there today. Very, very tasty, service very friendly and attentive! You can argue about the ambience, the table tops aren't my taste either, but the food is even more so! We will definitely come back on our next visit to Euskirchen! Then I secretly take a closer look at my "favorite TV Greek" from back then 😄.. Typical Greek If you like good quality meat or fish, this is the place for you. No frills, simply arranged on the plates and reduced to the most important things. We might have wanted something to dip with the starter (fried cheese), but that was fine too. Prices are reasonable and service is friendly and quick. The ambience is very old, but still serves its purpose.

Seit vielen Jahren gehe ich 1-2mal im Jahr in dieses Restaurant am Alten Markt und ich war immer sehr zufrieden. Ich mag es, weil es ein authenthisches und sehr entspanntes griechisches Restaurant ist. Das typische Essen ist einwandfrei und die Klassiker-Grillteller mit Gyros und Zatziki schmecken immer gut. Wir haben gestern lange dort gesessen und Wein getrunken, es war wirklich unkompliziert und gemütlich, auch ohne Reservierung. Eine sehr gute Alternative zu der Massenabfertigung bei der Konkurrenz in Flamersheim und auf der Kölner Strasse. Das Syrtaki ist ein bodenständiges Restaurant mit originaler Einrichtung, das macht es für mich attraktiv, wenn ich einfach mal Gyros oder Souvlaki essen will. Auch die Vorspeisen sind übrigens gut.

Unfortunately the ambience hasn't gotten any better over the years. Wooden panels that were screwed onto the tables really irritated me. It would definitely have looked better with a doily or even a large tablecloth. Unfortunately the chairs are also very worn out. The employees are consistently friendly. Not quite as nice in December as it was in the summer when we sat outside. I was really excited about that. Unfortunately, from the main course onwards, you had to be really patient to order more drinks. (It was also better in summer than in December) Now about the food: ordering a senior portion for a teenager was no problem. Excellent. Teen was happy. The other child's gyro with fries and tzatziki was also very tasty. The child is very "special" and does not eat anything "unknown". In this case she really enjoyed it, which is really rare. Unfortunately, there was aluminum foil in the mushroom pan. The waiter took it away, but an apology would have been nice. But the “vanilla ice cream with hot cherries” was absolutely bad. Sorry, what was served was a white, soft ice cream-like mass with cold cherries. I really eat everything, but it came to my mind.

We were with you for the first time today. And I have to say, we were pleasantly surprised. Super tasty food at fair/normal prices. Only the waitress could keep an eye out for empty drinks more often. We'll definitely be back.

Uns hat es geschmeckt, wir hatten den Thesaloniki Teller und die Kalamaris. Das Tzatziki schmeckte hausgemacht, leider war das Fleisch etwas trocken. Die Portionsgrösse war gut. Alles in allem haben wir uns wohlgefühlt und kommen gerne wieder.

Wir haben jetzt zwei tage durch die TGTG app Essen gerettet/ gekauft. Wir Sind sehr überrascht tolles warmes Essen, Von portion wow. Kann nur weiter empfehlen
