Restaurant Störtebeker in Grömitz

A wonderful restaurant. There were six of us and we were allowed to sit at the regulars' table, so we had the pleasure of occasionally joking with the friendly staff, as the table is right next to the bar! The restaurant is beautifully decorated—a lovely Baltic Sea flair meets modernity, I'd say. The food was excellent and we really enjoyed it. The quality of the dishes is really very good and plentiful! All in all, the restaurant is a wonderful place to spend time with the family and enjoy delicious food!

We've been coming to this restaurant for years; the portions have gotten smaller and the quality has declined, but the prices have gone up. Both my partner and I were served burnt schnitzels on our last visit. After complaining, the new schnitzels were greasy, undercooked, and half of my fried potatoes were black. We were very disappointed.

Very friendly service, from the reservation to the waitress. The food was very good and tasty, with good quality and generous portions. The wine selection was also good.

This restaurant is a must-visit when visiting Grömitz. We had "Störtebeker's Shiet" (Baltic Sea salmon fillet, cod fillet, and shrimp with homemade herb butter and potatoes filled with creamed potatoes for €28.50) and "Holsteiner Fischerschnitzel" (with Arctic shrimp, mushrooms, and onions, homemade hollandaise sauce, and fried potatoes, also for €28.50), and both dishes were simply fantastic and incredibly delicious. We've never eaten such good fish or had such a perfect schnitzel. The service was exceptionally friendly: Despite having a reservation, we had to wait a few minutes for our table, and they apologized many times for this. And the service at the table was also very, very kind and friendly. Be sure to make a reservation and definitely visit.

My husband and I made a reservation online and were delighted with the quick, friendly confirmation. We've been traveling to Grömitz in the summer for years and stop at the Störtebeker at least once a year during our vacation. We were always served in a friendly and courteous manner. The food was excellent every time, both in quality and quantity. We're already looking forward to our next visit next year.

We got a table at this nice restaurant without a reservation (right at 5:00 p.m.). Since we're absolute schnitzel fans, we ordered the schnitzel with mushrooms and onions. It was delicious. The staff is friendly and attentive. Make a reservation, as there were already people lined up on the street before opening, which speaks volumes about the restaurant. I highly recommend Störtebecker.

We enjoyed some delicious fish dishes. Both the "Pannfisch" (spiced fish) and the "Shiet" (fish mix) were perfectly prepared, tender as butter, and beautifully presented. The experience was rounded off by a very warm welcome and the very friendly and attentive table service. The ambiance is cozy, and the entire restaurant is lovingly decorated in a maritime style. We would be happy to return.

Reservations are recommended. Extremely friendly service with children and delicious food. However, the portions are a bit small... hence one star deduction.

I can recommend the Störtebeker to everyone. The service is very friendly and accommodating. The food is very, very delicious, and I would go back anytime I'm in Grömitz. The landlady, Ms. Weidemann, where we rented the vacation apartment, is a very warm and welcoming landlady who made sure we lacked nothing. As a person and as a guest, I felt very comfortable with Ms. Weidemann and felt like I was coming home, which made me very happy. But saying goodbye to Ms. Weidemann touched me deeply because she is such a lovely woman, and leaving was very difficult. Best regards, Giovanni Tripodi

Both fish and meat are always delicious. Reservations are recommended, as it's usually very busy. Both the restaurant and the terrace are very nice. If you mention you're bringing a dog, the staff will do their best to reserve a "quiet" table. A MUST on any vacation. Update June 2025: The food and service are still very good. Getting a "quiet table" is no problem if you bring a dog. They even moved a chair beforehand to ensure our large dog has enough space. We still love coming to you!

Today, to kick off our vacation, we wanted to eat light fish, and we weren't disappointed. After a friendly welcome and a table assignment, we were quickly served drinks by the extremely friendly and attentive staff. For our main course, we opted for the plaice Finkenwerder style, and it was truly deliciously light. It was preceded by a side salad with light dressing. We'll definitely be back and highly recommend this restaurant.

There were four of us, and luckily we had reservations. We had a table at 6:30 p.m., but by 7:00 p.m., all the tables were occupied. The service was very friendly and attentive. The fish dishes were all excellent, and the house wine was top-notch. We'd be happy to return.

We ate there today with 2 adults and 3 children, the service was not good. There was no one there to order drinks. The two children's plates were totally over salted. I mentioned this straight away when they were served and I was fobbed off with the statement that we always do it that way. 2 children's plates 20 euros and 1 turkey with fries 21 euros and in the end hungry children because you couldn't eat the fries. I don't understand why they don't allow the new one to be made at the end of 105 euros and unfortunately we can't recommend it given the service

We went there last night on a recommendation. And all I can say is it was GREAT! Even the reservation was easy and friendly. We had a great table with a beautiful decoration. The Swrvice team including the senior chef was excellent. This also came to the table. The whole atmosphere was fantastic. We had the fish soup and potato soup in advance. The fish soup has plenty of good ingredients, the broth is excellently seasoned and also the right herbs. The potato soup tasted like my grandma's, a true childhood memory. Afterwards we had the pan fish and the Störtebeker Shiet with fried potatoes. Both fish dishes were prepared to perfection. Lightly mottled and well fried, the slats were glassy and slightly disintegrated. The fried potatoes are also wonderful. The portions are plentiful. The whole thing has a good price-performance ratio. Also recommend the drinks. The water drinks are part of a dispensing system, which is really great. The house red wine is also good. And what should also be highlighted positively is that the takeaway food in Rebowls comes with a deposit. Conclusion. We would be happy to come back and would definitely recommend it

We regularly eat at Störtebeker when we are in Grömitz. The service is always very nice and friendly - you just feel comfortable (especially when it's not busy). All dishes - except for one - were always good and very tasty (otherwise we wouldn't be repeat offenders ;-)) We look forward to the next visit 🤗

We got a table at short notice on Saturday evening, the food was delicious and the portions were good. The staff is courteous and the chef is an “original”. It certainly wasn't the last time we ate there. Value is placed on regional products!

We ate there with a larger group (10+dog). Great service. Very attentive. Our jackets were taken away at the entrance and at the same time the candles were lit at the table. The table was beautifully decorated for the birthday. With streamers and happy birthday napkins. The drinks were served quickly, as were starters, main courses and desserts. Special requests were taken into account. We asked regularly whether everything was OK. The chef also came over. Very good portions. We felt very comfortable and thank you very much!

We ate there yesterday with 4 adults, 1 child, 1 baby and a dog. We were warmly welcomed and our daughter was included right away. We were served very kindly and there were also pens and a coloring book for the little one. The food was a solid 10 out of 10. The evening was cozy and super tasty. We left full and happy. We'd love to come back.

We ate very well here. My wife had a fish plate and I had a schnitzel with shrimps. According to a “Perfect Dinner” rating, 8 points.

We were lucky to get a spot in the outdoor dining area. Despite the temperature being 4 degrees +, the skepticism quickly disappeared because there were heaters, hot water bottles and blankets. The team treated each other with such humor, something I have rarely experienced in the catering industry. And the food was delicious and the price was absolutely legitimate with delicious drinks. We've been going to Störtebeker for a few years now and we really like it every time. The staff is always very friendly, open, helpful and very attentive. From my point of view, it's exactly the right level of attention because you're not constantly being asked if everything is OK and it's not like you can only order one drink because the staff magically disappears afterwards. As a starter we had the tartare which was really delicious and the quantity was perfect as a starter. Afterwards we had the kale with cod and the fisherman's schnitzel. The Fischerschnitzel is my absolute favorite dish because the Hollandaise sauce is not a finished product but rather homemade. You can also get more sauce upon request.

Nice restaurant, very, very nice employees. The schnitzel was good, my husband's steak was "sour" and inedible! Unfortunately, it's a real shame. Was our last evening here. We wanted to go out for a particularly nice meal and then something like that. Of course excuses came from the staff, I think it was the junior boss, they would have tried it with 3 employees, it wouldn't be bad, that would be a special beef. Sure, we don't know each other🙈. Really a shame!! We were able to order again, but had to pay twice in full.... No accommodation. You can't do that in a restaurant like that!!!

We have only been to Grömitz four times so far and the first time to Störtebeker. It was top notch. We ate cod fillet with kale. The potatoes were like they came from our own garden. The portion is very large. We will definitely eat here again.

The pan fish was also very good and plentiful. Although it didn't come in a cast iron pan...It was just Störtebeker style. We can definitely recommend the restaurant. When you arrive, you receive a nice welcome and a very nice table in a modern and stylishly furnished restaurant. The ordering, including competent advice, as well as the serving of food and drinks were carried out quickly. The food was of excellent quality and tasted great! The service was always very friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The price-performance ratio is absolutely fine! The “Störtebeker” is recommended in every respect!
