Large selection for breakfast with good portion sizes. Food was tasty, prices okay, but service could be a little more attentive. All in one but still very nice and recommended.

We were back in Mannheim and definitely had to eat at Starks again. The food is simply very tasty, fresh and is offered in a large selection and is quick. The store was clean as always and the staff is very friendly. We felt very comfortable there again. I can recommend it with a clear conscience. Simply top!

We had lunch at this restaurant during our lunch break and absolutely loved it! The food tasted excellent and the price-performance ratio is simply great. To round things off, we enjoyed a cappuccino and cake for dessert, both of which were a delight! We would particularly like to highlight the friendly service, which made our visit even more pleasant. We can definitely recommend this restaurant and are excited to see what the lunch menu has to offer next time! Thank you for the great experience!

6.50 € for Sprite diluted with sparkling water (supposedly homemade lemonade) and if there is no tip for such a cheap drink (service wasn't great either) the waitress doesn't even say goodbye. Anyone who is willing to completely scare away some guests because of a few euros in tips has a strange business sense.

The waitress saw us coming and said "English? Arf no!". We decided to leave.

Today only 2 stars for the food. Schnitzel from the deep fryer is a no go. Beautifully fried in a pan is on the menu. Next time I'll order something simple again 😉

The location of the restaurant is very good! The sufficient space outside is also an advantage! The food is solidly good. Likewise the service. However, the prices for drinks are an absolute “no-go” and, for me personally, shocking! A cola (0.4) for 5.70 euros, an apple spritzer (0.4) for 5.90 euros or even a bottle of water for 7.50! I think, sorry, outrageous! The bottle of water (normal still water) costs almost as much as a tomato soup... sorry, but that can't be it!

Sorry guys! €7.50 for water? €5.70 for a 0.4 cola? Even I, who doesn't get any purchase prices, pay 50 cents in retail! What kind of margins are those? I think that's where the fun really ends, it's a rip off!

Very cool, cozy bistro in the middle of Mannheim. You can spend your lunch break here with delicious snacks and cool drinks. Gladly again!!

NEVER AGAIN!!! RUDE AND LONG WAITING TIMES! 1 star is far too much for the rude and disrespectful service. I was with my girlfriend at Starks Restaurant today September 21, 2024 at 8:00 p.m. and we both ordered ONLY two side dishes of salad and for that we had to wait 1 hour or even longer. When we asked the waitress (twice) we were given a rude answer like: "It's normal on a Saturday and we shouldn't reserve tables if we can't wait." I don't think it's normal to wait 1 hour for two side dishes of salads!! For... At the end the waitress became even more cheeky and said we should go to McDonald's, pay and get up straight away. So we were thrown out (apparently she was still the shift manager) as a shift manager I wouldn't behave like that.

Very expensive for what it is. The only interest is location.

- bad service - Drinks order accepted after half an hour - didn't ask if we wanted anything else - Cheesecake came when we had already drunk the drinks (2 of 3 drinks) and had almost finished the last drink (I would understand if it was a warm meal, I would take the waiting time, but again for a cheesecake I don't think it's justified to wait 15-20 minutes for the drinks) - Attention, now comes the best part: in the end, when I mentioned the above-mentioned things, the employee said when paying that we were being very rude because I had mentioned the things and that we should simply not come anymore , if it didn't suit us, which I found very outrageous for a shop like this, where I would have gladly left a lot more money because we wanted to have an unforgettable evening - I think I wasn't the only one who was upset that evening, but there were several tables who felt the same way and even didn't show patience and just got up and left - but humiliating us like that is the last thing above all other customers and, above all, that you then don't accept the guilt - we were there in the evening on August 29th. Sat outside in the middle between about 7 and 8:30 p.m - Everyone has a bad day sometimes, but it's not possible to let it out to customers. In my opinion, it's better to stay at home and sleep on it one night and come to work the next morning

Unfortunately, I'm very disappointed in Starks today. There was a yogurt sauce on the salads that wasn't specifically mentioned. When I said I didn't want to eat that, they didn't change the salad even though it was their mistake and I had to order a new salad and pay for it. In my opinion they could have included this in their menu as a little hint. I don't think we will come again, nor would I recommend it PS there were five of us, one of us finished eating and then our food came.

Habe hier reserviert, vor Ort wird die Reservierung aber nicht berücksichtigt. (draußen darf man nicht reservieren, würde vorschlagen den Dienst dann einzustellen?).Die Bedienung nimmt relativ viel Zeit in Anspruch, auf einen Salat habe ich zuletzt 45min gewartet. Einen Aperol bekommt man innerhalb 20min.

Nice, centrally located location. Food tastes good. Staff always friendly, but sometimes a bit slow. Reservations make sense during peak times. But what no longer works is the prices. It is clear that Mannheim is a little more expensive than a village. But offering a salad that's slightly larger than a side salad with turkey for €17.90 is a disgrace! A glass of sparkling wine (0.1) for more than €7 as well! We won't be back that quickly.

Went there around 7:45 p.m. Were served 10 minutes later. Then they both ordered the chicken schnitzel with fries. However, I wanted sweet potato fries as a side dish. Starter was a pinza Alsatian style, which also tasted good. The main course, which came about 50 minutes later, had fries on it, but I got the sweet potato fries extra. There were two pieces of schnitzel on the plate. One was burnt black at the bottom, the other bathed in grease. My friend's both were perfect. However, since we wanted to go further, I didn't complain and was glad I ordered the Pinza. When I was clearing up I was told that I would get an espresso on the house as compensation. When I was paying, I realized that unfortunately it wasn't the espresso, which I found quite bold. I didn't want to make a fuss so I left. But I won't come here anymore for the time being.

Unfortunately, the prices are completely exorbitant, even for Mannheim standards. An alleged coffee frappé for €6.80 is a joke. Watery milk, a minimal shot of coffee, no crushed ice cream as stated on the menu. The quality of the food is also becoming increasingly strange and the tiny portions are a disgrace given the price. I'm happy to spend a little more if it's justified, but unfortunately that's no longer the case here and it's no longer worth a visit. It's a shame, because the price-performance ratio used to be ok, even if it was at the upper limit. Now more of a case of customer-disoriented overestimation of oneself.

For Saturday lunch we ordered baked potatoes with chorizo ​​and cheese gratin and vegetables or falafel. Was delicious! Good value for money as large portions. Everything else was fine (I didn't use the toilet, but you have to go down a spiral staircase to the basement). Leftovers were packaged to take away without any problem. Pretty terrace with acceptable seating (I've seen much more uncomfortable places!), the view leaves a lot to be desired.

Had a small snack. Everything was to our satisfaction. We had a pleasant stay.

Das Restaurant war massiv unterbesetzt, nur zwei Bedienungen für den gesamten Außenbereich. Unsere Reservierung via OpenTable wurde - Achtung - ausgelacht, da sie gür den Sußenbereich wohl keine Reservierungen vergäben. Wir haben eine Ewigkeit auf unsere Getränke, unser Essen und unsere Rechnung gewartet. Drin auf der Bartheke haben sich dreckige Cocktailgläser gestapelt, der Barkeeper war mit Getränkemixen eindeutig überfordert. Danke Starks, das war unser letzter Besuch.

The breakfast has clearly deteriorated. On my last visit a year ago, the breakfast offering was very appealing and of high quality. When I visited today the eggs appeared to come from the bag and were cold. The sausages were also cold. Overall, everything, including the over-baked toast, was tasteless. The coffee was good and the service was very friendly. However, we will not come back for breakfast.

Well, its a good Atmosphere, but you can’t do reservations unless you are the boss of the restaurant because everytime he reserved all the front tables, the service is slow, you can wait 30 minutes for a cappuccino :)

Hello, I'm actually a very welcome guest at Starks in Mannheim, unfortunately I had to find out today that on July 9th, 2024 at exactly 8:15 p.m. the waitress for the back tables was really bored and unmotivated doing her job when asked if she would please I could cut an extra lemon into slices and bring it to me. She answers, we don't have time for that, how unfriendly and demotivated you have to be to act like that towards your customers. If she had said it more or less friendly, I would have still accepted it. Unfortunately, the boss wasn't there otherwise I would have filed a complaint personally.

We were welcomed and ordered something, then the owner came up to us and asked us in an unfriendly and disrespectful tone why we were sitting here?!!. This is his table!!, we should look for another place.

We called and wanted to make a reservation, but we were told on the phone that they don't take reservations. We then decided to go spontaneously and found two free seats and sat down. After half an hour of being ignored, it was said that there was a minimum order value of €25 per person for the first three rows outside. 1. could have been signposted and 2. maybe just not waiting after 30 minutes. It was the European Championship round of 16 and the mood had already sunk lower than the quality in this cafe. When asked to speak to the boss, his arguments were that he would make a lot more sales if the tables weren't occupied by football fans for 3 hours but if normal customer service ran. Sure, because on a rainy Tuesday evening everyone is outside at Starks. But only within the 3rd rows because the seats are premium. Of course, this was never the case during previous Stark visits. Seemed like a way to get rid of us because we sat in reserved seats for half an hour until someone noticed us. Reserved seats? That didn't work at all! Apparently so, but Starks only reveals that to his close customers. To be honest, if you're going to offer public viewing, do it in a way that promotes a sense of community and doesn't offend people. It was also said that Starks offered magenta and that justified the price. With 25€ I get magenta and another kebab and would rather watch it from home than ever set foot in Starks again. Maybe it wouldn't be such an experience if the staff would have been a little friendlier and more accommodating.

Very centrally located in the city center. I had reserved a table for lunch, but upon arrival I was told that I was welcome to choose one of the tables that had NOT been reserved - somehow strange. The service is relatively attentive and the waiting time is normal. The food (Swiss sausage salad) was good, but nothing special. At the next table someone got a burger that didn't look good at all. The website is apparently not up to date; it advertised tarte flambée that was not on the menu. Overall okay, but nothing that stands out from the mass of restaurants in Mannheim.

Ich habe online einen Tisch reserviert für den Aussenbereich, diese wurde von Starks nicht beachtet anscheinend vorort wurde mir gesagt, dass sie keine reservierungen annehmen die dame war auch äusserst unfreundlich und abwesend zu mir. Man kam mir nicht entgegen mit einer Lösung oder sonstiges sie meinte nur sie kann jz keine leute wegschicken😂 Es gab drinnen genug freie tische und stühle die man hätte rausstellen können aber jah..sie ist einfach weggelaufen von mir und wir haben uns dann einfach in ein Resteraunt nebendran gesetzt. Fazit: NIEWIEDER

Normally I'm not too critical of restaurants/cafés etc. as I've worked as a waiter myself. But!… So the café is definitely not worth the hype! We were there on a Monday morning and it wasn't busy at all. The service was super bad. We had to wait forever to be able to order anything and also had to wait forever to be able to pay. There was nothing going on at all, but now everything else and everyone else was more important than us. In addition, the prices are outrageously high. I ordered a 0.4l lemonade and got a fake Sprite for €5.60. I expected a lot more from lemonade for the price. The homemade lemonades, which my companions found far too sweet, are about €1 more expensive. Unfortunately we couldn't finish the drinks. When we were finally able to pay, the waitress said we had to round up ourselves and didn't give us all of our change. Even if it was only a “small” amount, that’s super outrageous.

The breakfast offering is manageable, as is the portion, and the Oreis is overpriced for what is served. There is no cold drink with breakfast. Conclusion nothing special but expensive.

The schnitzel - strength of 2 beer mats - was an impertinence, the sauce with it tasted like old frying fat. Unfortunately the kitchen is not recommended.

First the negative: Unfriendly service. We were seated as a larger group (7 people) in a passage by a waitress. Shortly afterwards we were “talked to” by another waitress who said: “Of course you had to sit right here”. Even in retrospect, the service was very unfriendly. Even during the payment process, we only got paid after asking three times and about 20 minutes. Positive: The food and ambience were very good and nice. Location is welcome to visit. I hope the owners remind the waitresses of friendly service.

Perfect location. I especially enjoy spending time outside and enjoying the hustle and bustle of the surroundings. The service staff had the rush of guests well and attentively under control in great weather. The salad was OK (dressing was weak) - pinsa and fries were pretty tasty. Always my pleasure!

Located in the middle of Mannheim's city center, the large square in front of the restaurant is almost an oasis and invites you to stop by. The selection of food and drinks is very diverse. There is something for every taste! I chose the "Pinsa Alsatian Art", a good choice! It had been baked especially for me, not just warmed up, and therefore tasted excellent. The waitresses were all very polite and accommodating. Since the toilet was also in perfect order, nothing stood in the way of awarding full points. Gladly again!

We wanted to eat at Starks because of the lunch menu offered online. When we were there there were 3 completely different dishes on the lunch menu. When I asked, they said it wasn't current on the internet. Yes, I noticed that too. Either current or leave it!!! This can be done better.

Sorry but the food was catastrophic! My girlfriend had a burger, the bun was hard as a rock and the meat was inedible, my lamb tasted like old meat. Bad! It wasn't our first time there but definitely our last!!

The two of us were there yesterday. My colleague ordered a coffee and water and he received his drinks in a reasonable time frame. My order was also a coffee and a homemade lemonade, lime, mint. My order came about when my colleague had already finished his coffee.. I think the orders for a table should come at the same time..! I wanted to drink the lemonade, but it really just tasted like stale carbonated water. I also let my colleague try it, who had the same opinion about it. I then spoke to the waitress and told her that the ingredients had most likely been forgotten, such as: B the lemonade.. The answer came that there are fresh coins and a lime in it.. Of course I didn't drink it and had to pay the full price. Something like that is not recommended

Our visit on a sunny Saturday afternoon was a clear disappointment. When ordered medium burger it came as a well-done burger with few side dishes and no sauce. Like the burger patties, falafel came from the freezer and is not “homemade” as promised and advertised. The salad with the falafel was drowned in dressing and the hummus with the dry flatbread was only two level tablespoons. But hey, at least we didn't get the information like the table next door that the pasta was without cream and then the lady was allowed to take her lactose tablets. The service is friendly and attentive, but without a boss and shift manager, they are only able to respond to customer complaints to a limited extent. Not recommended if you are so obviously misled as a customer. PS Beer, fries and Mediterranean vegetables were delicious)

Die Karte und der Umfang des Frühstücks wurden sehr reduziert. Wir kamen immer aus Walldorf, aber jetzt lohnt sich der Weg nicht mehr, weil es nichts mehr besonderes ist, sondern einfach zu teuer, wenn man das aktuelle Angebot anschaut. Wir kommen nicht mehr, der Weg ist für dieses Angebot jetzt zu weit und das Besondere fehlt.

Really chic restaurant with large outdoor seating. Happy hour until 7 p.m., cocktails half price (5€). Had a salad with turkey strips and Greek cheese gratin. Both super tasty. And absolutely recommended. Would love to come back. Was well attended. Reservation recommended

The service was very nice. Unfortunately the breakfast was very, very greasy. The packaged butter was covered in fat and you just had greasy hands. I used to enjoy going to Starks very often, but unfortunately the quality has declined. The price is far too high for this quality. I hope things change again and I can come more often again.

The Classic Burger was a disaster. Dry without sauce, bun hard, a tomato and 1 leaf of lettuce on it. Oh, another cucumber. My friend ate cheeseburgers and exactly the same but only with cheese, no sauce, etc... Patties were good. Fries were good. Limos and iced teas are also very tasty.

Wir haben unsere Weihnachtsfeier dort ausgerichtet . Das Essen war wirklich sensationell. Die Maronensuppe ist besonders zu empfehlen. Aber auch die Gans schön saftig und zart , perfekt abgeschmeckt ! Die Tische waren liebevoll geschmückt und der Service war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend! Absolute Empfehlung !!

Uns wurde Zimmerwarme Cola serviert. Mein Burgerfleisch war trotz vorheriger Nachfrage der Kellnerin nicht durch. Burger war zudem sehr lieblos angerichtet. Die Pommes haben mir absolut nicht geschmeckt. Das Gericht meiner Freundin war leider auch nicht besser. Wir kommen nicht mehr!!!

Eine positive Erfahrung. Ich war zum ersten Mal im Starks und wurde positiv überrascht. Das Ambiente ist schön, das Personal arbeitet schnell & zuverlässig und das Essen schmeckt super Lecker. Ich würde das Starks weiterempfehlen!

Weihnachtsfeier dort gehabt und alle waren begeistert 🤩 Die Maronensuppe und das Fleisch einfach ein Traum! Die Bedienung Saida war Weltklasse.

Ich hab an einem Donnerstag um 23:30 Unterschlupf in dem schönen Restaurant/Bar gesucht. Die Küche war offensichtlicherweise schon geschlossen aber die Kellnerin war unglaublich herzlich, zuvorkommend und nett. Kann ich nur weiterempfehlen! Da lohnt sich auch der 10 min weg zu Fuß vom Bahnhof

Wir waren rundum zufrieden. Bestbewertung gab es nur deshalb nicht, weil bei unserer Essensbestellung ein Fehler unterlaufen ist, für den sich der Service aber ausdrücklich entschuldigt. Kann ja mal passieren.

Ich war zum ersten Mal im Sharks. Ich fand es dort richtig toll, sehr nette Leute. Das Essen fand ich sehr. Auch die Bedienung sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wenn ihr mal nach Mannheim kommt ist dass unbedingt ein muss dort mal hinzugehen. Ihr werdet ganz sicher nicht enttäuscht sein. Ich für meinen Teil gehe dort sehr gerne.

Wir hatten unsere Weihnachtsfeier dort und kommen leider nicht mehr. Unsere Reservierung gabs nicht. Bis zur Getränkeaufnahme hat es lange gedauert. Hauptspeise hatte fast 1,5 Std gedauert und davon war leider die Hälfte aller Essen kalt-lauwarm. Den Nachtisch mussten wir auch abbestellen da es leider so lang gedauert hatte. Sehr schade :(

Hallo Habe mein Frühstück erhalten aber ohne Brot, nach 5 min kam es da waren aber schon die Spiegeleier kalt. Und die Bedienung hatte sich gestört das wir nach dem Brot gefragt haben. Die Küche ist schuld nicht sie. Optisch sah das Frühstück super aus Wir waren am 09.12.23 um 10:30 Uhr vor Ort.

Das Essen war im Preis-Leistunguns Verhältnis einfach Klasse!

Flammkuchen angebrannt, Burger Medium bestellt kam leider trocken und durch an und hatte nicht den Anschein frisch gebraten zu sein. Wurde wohl auf Vorrat vorgegart. Der Service war freundlich und schnell.
