Wir waren gestern zum Mittagessen im Biergarten des Restaurants. Tolle Atmosphäre. Das Essen war wie immer ausgezeichnet. Leider ließ der Service zu wünschen übrig. Beim Absetzen der Getränke auf dem Tisch wurde gekleckert (kann passieren), aber ohne ein Wort blieb das so. Schade

Schönes Ambiente , sehr netter Service. Steve , der Chef und Koch , lebt sein Handwerk. Hier isst das Auge mit , wir haben von Vorspeise bis Nachspeise probiert und müssen sagen haben lange nicht so gut gegessen. Das Essen sah herrlich angerichtet aus , speziell , Gerichte die wir so ,in der Art ,noch nie gegessen haben 🤩 Schaut vorbei , es lohnt sich definitiv.

Eine vielseitige Karte mit kreativen, aber auch klassischen Gerichten, herzlicher Service, sehr empfehlenswert.

Absolut empfehlenswert! Die Bedienung war super nett, aufmerksam und herzlich. Das Ambiente ist sehr schön und gemütlich, man fühlt sich direkt wohl. Besonders hervorheben muss man die Küche: Der Koch versteht wirklich sein Handwerk. Die Gerichte waren hochwertig, frisch, geschmacklich sensationell und schön angerichtet. Wir waren zur Mittagszeit im Rahmen eines Meetings mit 4 Personen zu Gast. Neben der aufmerksamen schnellen Bedienung, fiel sowohl die kleine aber feine Speisekarte positiv auf. Auch der Küchenchef und Eigentümer war sehr aufmerksam und freundlich und hat uns einiges Wissenswertes über das Haus / Lokal erzählt. Alles in Allem waren wir absolut zufrieden!

Das Essen war sensationell angerichtet. Ich habe leider nur ein Foto gemacht. Und das war nur vom Dessert. Sehr sehr empfehlenswert.

Waren zu Zweit und haben uns Vor- und Nachspeisen geteilt. Die Küche hat es gleich wunderschön in zwei kleinen Portionen angerichtet. Das Essen ist gut und sucht Vergleiche in der Gegend. Das alte Haus wurde im Gastraum modern aber gemütlich gestaltet. Alles in allem sehr erfreulich. Gerne wieder.

Es gelingt selten mich noch zu Überraschen. Unscheinbar an einer Nebenstraße gelegen.....der Knaller! Preis/Leistung der Hit, Teller sind für das Auge eine Freude und alle super frrundlich! Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

Da „strandet“ man auf dem Weg in den Urlaub in Glauchau, nimmt die nächstgelegene Gaststätte, weil man noch fix etwas essen möchte und wird komplett überrascht. Der unscheinbare äußere Eindruck lässt überhaupt nicht erwarten, welch absolut köstliches Essen verbunden mit einem herzlichen Empfang und sehr persönlichen Service auf uns wartete. Vielen lieben Dank an den Koch mit Sinn für Regionalität und Heimat sowie viel ♥️ Manchmal hat man echt Glück im Leben…

Wir haben gestern die Jugendweihe meiner Tochter hier gefeiert. Es war alles von Anfang bis Ende perfekt. Das Essen war liebevoll angerichtet und absolut schmackhaft. Der Service ließ keine Wünsche offen - wir haben uns gut umsorgt gefühlt. Danke nochmal an Steve und Mariem für alles! ❤️ 100%ige Weiterempfehlung!

Vor dem Konzert in der Sachsenlandhalle spontan eine Gaststätte gesucht und gefunden. Gastraum gemütlich eingerichtet. Servicemitarbeiterin sehr sehr freundlich. Rinderroulade mit Klöse bestens zubereitet, geschmacklich top. An den Preisen ist nichts auszusetzen.

Ein lohnenswerter Besuch, mit einem leckeren Essen und freundlichem und aufmerksamem Service. Sehr gern wieder.

Diese Gaststätte ist eine große Überraschung. Hier passt alles, gehobene Küche für einen guten Preis. Altbekannte Gerichte neu gedacht und künstlerisch auf den Teller gebracht. Der Service rundet den Besuch freundlich ab.

Eher zufällig führte uns der Weg in dieses tolle Restaurant! Hier wird man erstklassig bewirtet, überaus herzlich die Atmosphäre in den neu gestalteten Räumen. Das Essen war ein Gaumenschmaus, alles perfekt, frisch und geschmacklich wie in einer Sterneküche! Alles sehr zu empfehlen!

Wir waren mit einer Gruppe von 25 Personen vor Ort. Leider war das Restaurant für diese Gruppengröße offensichtlich überbucht. Die Sitzsituation war extrem eng, sodass wir mehrfach Stühle verschieben mussten, um überhaupt Bewegungsfreiheit zu schaffen. An einer Stirnseite, an der eigentlich eine Person sitzen sollte, saßen letztlich drei Personen. Das war weder angenehm noch gut geplant. Das Essen war insgesamt in Ordnung, stand aus unserer Sicht aber nicht im Verhältnis zu den aufgerufenen Preisen. Besonders enttäuschend war das Angebot für Kinder. Es gab kein klassisches Eis wie Vanille oder Erdbeere, weder auf der Karte noch auf Nachfrage. Angeboten wurden ausschließlich spezielle Sorten, die für Kinder schlicht ungeeignet sind. Problematisch war zudem der Umgang mit Alkohol in Gerichten. Bei mehreren Speisen konnte der Alkohol nicht weggelassen werden, mit dem Hinweis, er sei „verkocht“. Für Schwangere, von denen wir drei in der Gruppe hatten, ist das keine akzeptable Lösung und zeigt wenig Flexibilität. Auch beim Thema Allergien gab es deutliche Schwächen. Eine Person mit starker Nussallergie konnte kein Gericht finden, bei dem die Nüsse weggelassen werden konnten. Sie musste sich schließlich eine Pizza von außerhalb holen und diese im Restaurant essen, was eigentlich nicht Sinn eines Restaurantbesuchs ist. Die Bedienung war durchweg freundlich und bemüht, wirkte aber aufgrund der Platzsituation teilweise überfordert und chaotisch. Das ist weniger ein Vorwurf an das Personal als an die Organisation. Für kleine Gruppen bis etwa acht Personen mag das Restaurant geeignet sein. Für größere Gruppen ab 15 Personen ist es nicht zu empfehlen. Das Essen ist solide, der Preis jedoch eher zu hoch angesetzt, und die mangelnde Flexibilität bei Sonderwünschen, Allergien und Gruppensituationen trübt den Gesamteindruck deutlich.

Übersichtliche Speisekarte, tolle Gerichte, z.B die Schweinezunge, einfach toll geschmeckt!

The food was absolutely delicious, the service was super friendly, and the new atmosphere was very nice – highly recommended!

As always, it was a truly special culinary experience, with outstanding quality and a feast for the eyes as well. With every bite, you can feel and taste the love and passion that went into the cooking. Ms. Tuchscherer, the server, is also exceptionally friendly and attentive – a rare find these days. We're already looking forward to our next visit.

Changing menu with delicious offers at reasonable prices, very friendly service

The Stadt Altenburger restaurant in Glauchau is located at Lindenstraße 1, 08371 Glauchau. It is a fantastic restaurant. I was there recently and enjoyed several beers and a Sauerbraten (sauerbraten). Both were delicious. The staff is very friendly, helpful, socially competent, and very valuable. A fantastic experience; I never thought you could eat so well here. It's upscale, home-style cooking. The service was very friendly and competent. Their own beer, I tried all the varieties, and I recommend each one. Finally, a restaurant in the area where you can go without any ifs or buts.

The dinner with appetizer was excellent. We ordered for 20 people and were able to pick up the food on time in warming containers. The food stayed warm enough, and the quality met our high expectations. We also needed 25 wine and water glasses each, which we were fortunate enough to borrow. Perfect location for unforgettable celebrations – absolute recommendation! Last Saturday I was able to celebrate my 40th birthday in the Stadt Altenburg restaurant - and what can I say: it was simply perfect! The appointment reservation itself went smoothly, and I always felt well looked after during the consultation and planning that followed. The food was excellent – ​​fresh, tasty and plentiful! The drinks also left nothing to be desired. A big compliment to the boss and the entire team: everyone was incredibly friendly, attentive and helpful. Another highlight: We were able to bring our own music system, which rounded off the evening musically according to our wishes. So we celebrated until late into the night! Conclusion: Anyone planning a celebration is in the best hands at the Gaststätte Stadt Altenburg. We will definitely be back and would like to thank you very much for this wonderful evening! We were there for dinner yesterday and we were all very satisfied. The food is really very tasty, not standard fare and nicely presented. Plus the nice service and good prices, we were thrilled for the second time and will come back.

German food but with some nice variety. My wife had the gnocchi and really enjoyed the fresh made tomato sauce. I had the chicken Asian style and it was quite good.

A really positive surprise 😊 We were here for the first time today and will definitely come back! We had reserved a table and since the weather was really beautiful today, the friendly waitress offered us a table in the beer garden, which we gratefully accepted. Main courses and desserts completely convinced us. The service is also a 6 out of 5! We were with our small child (1 year old) and she was also lovingly cared for. Whether it was a dumpling with sauce or a small Easter basket at the end of our visit, we were pleasantly surprised several times! A huge thank you to our great service. I have rarely met such a friendly person! Thanks for everything and see you soon 😊

Eating here is just fun: - a great combination of “down-to-earth” with “special” - a nice atmosphere in the restaurant - Service is great - Food is really nicely prepared - and very important: it tastes great ---- In addition: the current official awards as a tourism hero and nomination for the large medium-sized business award are absolutely deserved! Definitely a good place to eat and if you're not close by, it's worth a detour here!

The food and the staff are just to die for! The rooms are a bit old and don't suit this modern and absolutely 100% fantastic food. But that's really the only thing! The staff is so nice! The couple who run the shop are so friendly! You can taste and feel the love they pass on! I've never experienced anything so warm in a restaurant! The best restaurant I've ever eaten at! The food... I'm almost at a loss for words because it was far too good to describe in just a few words. It is prepared like in a star restaurant! The colors fit together beautifully, it is structured like a painting. Then the taste, what can I say...we were sad when it was all gone. It was that good. We had the tempura vegetables, every piece of vegetable, every pomegranate seed, every sauce, every dab of mayo was perfectly coordinated. Everything tasted heavenly individually, but together it was just the perfect world of aromas. How you can get so much out of vegetables is just art! Cheers! It's 100% worth it! This is food at the highest level!

The atmosphere, the service and especially the food were simply perfect. The atmosphere has retained its well-known charm and continues to reflect the historical value of this traditional restaurant. It is admirable how the new operators have managed to preserve the authentic charisma of one of the oldest restaurants in Glauchau without losing any of its quality or coziness The service was outstanding: Warmth, attention, courtesy and professionalism are just some of the qualities that made the stay a special experience. Every question was answered with a smile and you felt absolutely valued as a guest. The food? Simply indescribable, an absolute highlight! Every dish was a work of art – both in terms of taste and appearance. The new operators have managed to enrich the menu with creative, perfectly flavored dishes. What is particularly pleasing: tried-and-tested classics such as the “Ragout fin” or the famous “Strindberg” can still be found on the menu and stand harmoniously alongside the new top dishes. Here you really get something for your money - quality, taste and tradition that are worth every penny. A big compliment to the new operators for this successful takeover! This restaurant is definitely a must! From my side, I can only warmly recommend it. My next visit is already planned and I couldn't be more excited.

A jewel in Glauchau After much hesitation, we visited this traditional restaurant again after the change of operator, and I have to say: it was a direct hit! The new operators have retained the charm of the house and combined it with modern sophistication. The food was a pleasure at the highest level - a perfect mix of well-known classics and creative new creations. I was particularly impressed by how harmoniously tradition and innovation were combined on the menu. The service? Flawless. Friendly, attentive and professional, exactly how you want it. We received a very warm welcome and had our food within ten minutes of ordering. And on a level that does credit to a 5* hotel. The food was so well prepared, not too much and not too little. With great spices and lots of fresh ingredients. We were extremely satisfied and can only recommend this restaurant. But the word has already gotten around that pre-ordering is better. Delicious food in a cozy atmosphere

We were in the restaurant today and were greeted warmly and were given a table for 6 despite booking for 4 people...which we found very pleasant, so there was enough space 😉. The food was very decoratively prepared with attention to detail, both for the starter and the main course. We didn't finish the dessert because we were already full at that point. We'll probably start with the dessert next time, as it sounded promising 😀. All in all, a very nice evening in a pleasant, friendly atmosphere.. would be happy again, recommended.. thank you very much

I would give 5 stars again and again! We wanted to sit down in the beer garden and were warmly greeted by the owner and provided with blankets. The waitresses were also very friendly. I chose the vegetarian dish and I was more than happy with my choice. I just say a creamy flavor explosion. The dishes are prepared and decorated with love by the chef and owner. I can only warmly recommend the restaurant with its warm owners.

We celebrated our wedding on August 24th, 2024 in the super beautiful restaurant. Super delicious food, friendly service and the ambience is prepared with a lot of love, especially outside it's like a little oasis, especially in the evening when all the lights and candles are on. We were in the city of Altenburg for the first time after the change of operator, the vita was very promising. The food was good, but not as exceptional as one might have expected. The portions are manageable, but not necessarily enough to fill you up. With prices around 18 - 25 € for the main course, you don't necessarily order a starter either. I had ordered a Lillet Wildberry, I have never had this drink served so carelessly before, the glass was about half full, a squished raspberry and 2 currants with a torn piece of rosemary were floating in it, the whole thing without ice. You can even do this better at home (see photo). The kitchen alone doesn't do it, unfortunately the whole thing didn't really convince us. Make up your own mind.

We were here for lunch today with our Glauchau friends. Even though the restaurant was full, the table was set for us in the beautiful beer garden and we felt welcome. From the order to the invoice, we received professional, competent and very friendly service. Big praise for the service. Also big praise for the kitchen! All dishes were prepared to a star standard and also lived up to the taste. The highlights for me were the iced tomato burrata and the Strindberg steak. The price-performance ratio is definitely right. Thank you for the moment and good luck for the future. Definitely recommended.

Were there by chance. They are people from Chemnitz and don't even know that there is such a great thing here in Glauchau. Had lunch, according to the chef, today was the first day of the new menu. We were here for a business lunch in the beer garden on a Wednesday lunchtime and were absolutely satisfied. Super nice staff, the food was simply great and there was even something vegan for me! Absolutely recommended, gladly again!

We liked it very much. Food very well prepared. Meat very tender and tasty, both chicken and ox cheeks. A little less salt was the only criticism of the dishes. You could replace this with other spices.

In terms of cuisine, traditional German cuisine is excellent in terms of taste, but also exceptional food is on offer. The new beer garden definitely creates a cozy, feel-good atmosphere, absolutely recommended!

Surprisingly, behind the thick wooden doors there is a great indoor beer garden where you can feel at home. The menu offers home cooking and modern dishes so that everyone can find what they are looking for and if not, individual composition is no problem. Food was great. The boss comes to the guest herself and is very lovely. We felt really comfortable and will definitely come back! Thank you

Food: Very nicely prepared, quick, fresh, super tasty! Service: There were a lot of people there, so it got a bit hectic and disorganized from time to time. But all in all, great staff, friendly, accommodating. After the meal, the chef asked us if everything was OK. Great interest in customers, rare these days. Ambience: Everything was clean and nicely decorated. Good home-style restaurant. In some corners you can see the age ;) We will be back!
