Delicious food in a cozy atmosphere

We were in the restaurant today and were greeted warmly and were given a table for 6 despite booking for 4 people...which we found very pleasant, so there was enough space 😉. The food was very decoratively prepared with attention to detail, both for the starter and the main course. We didn't finish the dessert because we were already full at that point. We'll probably start with the dessert next time, as it sounded promising 😀. All in all, a very nice evening in a pleasant, friendly atmosphere.. would be happy again, recommended.. thank you very much

I would give 5 stars again and again! We wanted to sit down in the beer garden and were warmly greeted by the owner and provided with blankets. The waitresses were also very friendly. I chose the vegetarian dish and I was more than happy with my choice. I just say a creamy flavor explosion. The dishes are prepared and decorated with love by the chef and owner. I can only warmly recommend the restaurant with its warm owners.

We celebrated our wedding on August 24th, 2024 in the super beautiful restaurant. Super delicious food, friendly service and the ambience is prepared with a lot of love, especially outside it's like a little oasis, especially in the evening when all the lights and candles are on. You can tell that a lot of passion and love was put into this beautiful restaurant. We wish you continued success. Definitely coming back😉

Very very tasty! Everything homemade and freshly made and a very great, family atmosphere!

We were in the city of Altenburg for the first time after the change of operator, the vita was very promising. The food was good, but not as exceptional as one might have expected. The portions are manageable, but not necessarily enough to fill you up. With prices around 18 - 25 € for the main course, you don't necessarily order a starter either. I had ordered a Lillet Wildberry, I have never had this drink served so carelessly before, the glass was about half full, a squished raspberry and 2 currants with a torn piece of rosemary were floating in it, the whole thing without ice. You can even do this better at home (see photo). The kitchen alone doesn't do it, unfortunately the whole thing didn't really convince us. Make up your own mind.

We were here for lunch today with our Glauchau friends. Even though the restaurant was full, the table was set for us in the beautiful beer garden and we felt welcome. From the order to the invoice, we received professional, competent and very friendly service. Big praise for the service. Also big praise for the kitchen! All dishes were prepared to a star standard and also lived up to the taste. The highlights for me were the iced tomato burrata and the Strindberg steak. The price-performance ratio is definitely right. Thank you for the moment and good luck for the future. Definitely recommended.

Were there by chance. They are people from Chemnitz and don't even know that there is such a great thing here in Glauchau. Had lunch, according to the chef, today was the first day of the new menu. I was really surprised. Very very good. My wife had sauerbraten, great! Calling all Chemnitz residents, the journey is worth it. We'll be back! Thanks for the hospitality.

We were here for a business lunch in the beer garden on a Wednesday lunchtime and were absolutely satisfied. Super nice staff, the food was simply great and there was even something vegan for me! Absolutely recommended, gladly again!

We liked it very much. Food very well prepared. Meat very tender and tasty, both chicken and ox cheeks. A little less salt was the only criticism of the dishes. You could replace this with other spices.

In terms of cuisine, traditional German cuisine is excellent in terms of taste, but also exceptional food is on offer. The new beer garden definitely creates a cozy, feel-good atmosphere, absolutely recommended!

Surprisingly, behind the thick wooden doors there is a great indoor beer garden where you can feel at home. The menu offers home cooking and modern dishes so that everyone can find what they are looking for and if not, individual composition is no problem. Food was great. The boss comes to the guest herself and is very lovely. We felt really comfortable and will definitely come back! Thank you

Food: Very nicely prepared, quick, fresh, super tasty! Service: There were a lot of people there, so it got a bit hectic and disorganized from time to time. But all in all, great staff, friendly, accommodating. After the meal, the chef asked us if everything was OK. Great interest in customers, rare these days. Ambience: Everything was clean and nicely decorated. Good home-style restaurant. In some corners you can see the age ;) We will be back!

...a chef who knows his craft and courteous service. Preparing a dish gluten-free was also no problem. I can recommend the restaurant with a clear conscience.

Really a joke for the money. The seasoned meat was gray, the liver with apple consisted of 3 tiny morsels and 2 small wedges of apple. My side dish consisted of 2 teaspoons full of red cabbage. In addition, the dumplings we ordered were totally over salted. Even though I pointed this out, there was no response. It's a shame but definitely not recommended!

The ambience didn't suggest that: the food was spectacular and the service was also very efficient.

The restaurant is easy to reach and otherwise recommended. However, you have to make compromises when it comes to food, as only a very limited number of dishes are offered here. I didn't find the atmosphere that special because there was radio music playing in the background and that's actually the last thing I want to hear while eating in a restaurant. But the staff is very friendly. The restaurant is also able to pack food for take-away.

Meine Familie ist seit Jahren Stammkunde hier - aus gutem Grund. Auch nach Übergabe an den neuen Hausherren Herrn Tuchscherer fühlen wir uns hier wohl und jederzeit willkommen. Die Karte vereint klassische Hausmannskost mit einem Hauch Exotik und bietet etwas für jeden Gaumen. Das Personal ist uns gegenüber so freundlich, als wären wir Teil der Familie. Wir freuen uns auf noch viele weitere Jahre im Stadt Altenburg!

Alles im allem war es ein gelungener Abend. Essen sehr lecker. Man sollte allerdings ein Tisch reservieren.

Der Service war super, schnell und zuverlässig. Die Mitarbeiter sind allseits freundlich zu den Gästen, jederzeit zu einem Spaß bereit und sehr gewissenhaft in ihrer Arbeit. Das Essen war lecker und die Portionen sehr ausreichend. Ich komme jederzeit gerne immer wieder.

Das Personal ist super freundlich und das Essen ist sehr lecker. Es ist echt zu empfehlen.

Die Wünsche für unseren besonderen Tag wurden super umgesetzt. Auch unsere Gäste waren alle voll auf zufrieden und lobten das Essen und den guten Service Es war für uns alle ein schöner Tag.

Wir waren gestern das erste mal in der Gaststätte Essen gegangen und waren total begeistert . Großes Lob von uns!

Der erste Eindruck vom Gastraum täuscht. Man fühlt sich vom Ambiente her zurückversetzt in die DDR aber das Essen ist erste Klasse. Klassiker modern serviert. Da ist Leidenschaft auf dem Teller. Super nettes Personal. Der Außenbereich sieht deutlich moderner aus. Klare Weiterempfehlung.

Ein kulinarischer Leuchtturm, der weit über Glauchau hinausstrahlt! Es gibt meiner Meinung nach nichts vergleichbares in Glauchau und auch nicht in der weiteren Umgegend. Wir kommen seit vielen Jahren mehrmals im Jahr in die alte Heimat und haben noch nirgendwo so lecker gespeist. Wir haben auf eine Empfehlung hin, dort Sonntags für 4 Leute zum Mittagstisch reserviert. Und wir wurden nicht enttäuscht. Das Serviceteam hat uns sehr freundlich empfangen und zu unserem Tisch geleitet. Die Menükarte wurde schnell übergeben. Dabei empfahl man uns die GEKLÄRTE KRAFTBRÜHE VOM WEIDEOCHSEN. Die KRAFTBRÜHE wurde dann auch für mich der Starter. Mein Schatz nahm den MARMORIERTEN NORDSEELACHS. Beides sehr lecker. Und auch perfekt angerichtet und präsentiert. Zum Hauptgang haben wir GEFÜLLTES SCHWEINESCHNITZEL „STADT ALTENBURG“, SÄCHSISCHEN SAUERBRATEN, SCHWEINENACKENSTEAK „STRINDBERG“ und das ERBSEN-RISOTTO gegessen. Auch hier wieder sehr fein austarierter Geschmack und perfekt angerichtet. Dann musste natürlich noch ein Dessert sein. Ich hatte GEBACKENES HASELNUSS-EIS und Schatz die VARIATION VON HAUSGEMACHTEN DESSERTS. Was für eine Geschmacksbombe! Das, natürlich selbstgemachte, Eis war in einer zarten Teighülle eingeschlossen und dann frittiert. Ich liebe es! Und diese Erdbeercoulies. Ein Traum. Das gleiche gilt auch für die DESSERT-VARIATION. Wunderschön angerichtet und geschmacklich 1A. Der Service war toll, war aufmerksam, lustig, freundlich. Das verwendete schöne Geschirr stach aus dem immer wieder zu sehenden Einheits-Weiß durch Farbe und Textur heraus. Nunja, und das Küchenteam? Ich glaube fest daran, das das was bisher dort abgeliefert wurde, noch lange nicht das Ende des kulinarischen Genusses ist. Wenn der Küchenchef das bisher Erreichte konsequent weiterentwickelt, wird "Stadt Altenburg" einmal zu den Spitzenrestaurants gehören. Vielen Dank!

Es gibt in der Umgebung nix Besseres! Super Essen zu einem guten Preis. Aber das Beste: Laden voll, Servicekraft ausgefallen und trotzdem immer ein Lächeln und Sonne im Herzen von der Chefin! Tolles Ambiente und keine 08/15-Speisen! Jederzeit wieder!

Das Essen war sehr lecker. Die Bedienung sehr aufmerksam, kompetent und freundlich.

Wir waren heute im "Stadt Altenburg" Abendessen. Ich war sehr positiv überrascht,der Service war sehr gut und feinfühlig gegenüber den Gästen. Die Vorspeise war schneller da als erwartet und auch auf die Hauptspeisen mussten wir nicht lange warten. Vorspeise war Lachs und der war wirklich hervorragend Hauptspeise war einmal Sauerbraten, der war butterzart,die Klöße waren sehr lecker, der Rotkohl war für meinen Geschmack etwas zu säuerlich aber trotzdem lecker. Das andere Hauptgericht war gebackene Schweinezunge mit Erbsenpüree, sauce hollondaise und Kartoffeln, es gibt nichts zu beanstanden und es war sehr schön angerichtet und gut temperiert. Dessert war eine Variation von hausgemachten Eis, das konnte man auch so schmecken. Preise sind angemessen. Alles in allem war es den Besuch Wert.

Wir wollten hier um 19 Uhr spontan einkehren, es wäre auch noch Platz für uns gewesen, aber es wurde uns gesagt, dass es nur noch ein Gericht zum Essen geben würde, da die Küche schon geschlossen hat. Wir sind dann leider wieder gegangen.

Wir waren im Restaurant essen und können dieses sehr empfehlen. Es ist sehr zeitgemäß die Speisen sind weiterhin sehr lecker. Sehr guter fachlicher Service. Absolut empfehlenswert.
