Great food, great ambiance, all praise!

Well, unfortunately, the quality is not consistent at all. This time it was extremely greasy, and the taste was disappointing. The staff's motivation was also unconvincing.

I can only echo the other positive reviews – we had dinner here and were very satisfied. The food arrived quickly and was delicious. The portions were generous. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, and the layout, with several rooms, keeps the noise level pleasant, allowing for easy conversation. The service was extremely friendly and exceptionally attentive! Thank you for the wonderful hospitality; we felt very comfortable and will definitely be back :)

Unfortunately, I can't confirm the positive reviews. We were there for the second time today – and again, the food was simply awful. Last year, the bifteki with Metaxa sauce was just greasy, over-seasoned, and had a questionable consistency. This year, we had calamari with souvlaki and rice: the calamari was okay (I've definitely had better), but the souvlaki was terrible – completely dry, tough, and stringy in places, and the rice was far too soft. The service was fine. It was questionable that the complimentary birthday ice cream only arrived after our table had ordered and eaten dessert. The ambiance is a matter of taste (more of an 80s vibe). There are obviously many positive reviews; perhaps we were just unlucky twice. Update: After this somewhat critical review hadn't been online for even a day, it was deleted at the owner's request for "defamation." I naturally appealed this decision, so it's now available again. The service was fine. Therefore, everyone should ask themselves why this restaurant (currently) has 4.9 out of 5 stars...

We researched this restaurant beforehand and went by the reviews, which are clearly no longer accurate! The service was okay, and the wait time was fine. The food, however, was abysmal! It was almost cold, and I'm not exaggerating when I say disgusting! We ordered an eggplant casserole. It consisted mostly of ground beef; you had to search for the eggplant. The potatoes inside were undercooked, and the worst part was the gelatin pudding on top (at least 4 cm thick), which tasted absolutely disgusting... it was a huge disappointment. And all for that price! We left almost the entire dish unfinished. The owner then proceeded to tell us, rather forcefully and loudly, that it was the original Greek dish and that it was always cooked that way in his family. Maggi seasoning, anyone?! No discount and an empty stomach. We cannot recommend this place. What do these people think they're doing? We've been cooking at home ever since; at least it tastes good, and it's much cheaper, too! : ... And we are not subjected to excessively loud music!

We were thrilled. The ambiance is quite decent for a restaurant! The food is delicious, and the service is fast and friendly. However, the parking was a godsend that evening. We'll be back.

The staff is very friendly and attentive, and you immediately feel welcome. The food was simply outstanding, especially the lamb chops, which were a real highlight! Although I rarely eat lamb, they were perfectly prepared and incredibly delicious here. The menu is pleasantly concise, but still offers a nice selection of dishes.

Today was our very first visit to this restaurant, at the invitation of our dear friends. It's normal from the outside, but the interior is very spacious. It's very cozy, and the food is simply outstanding. We haven't had such good Greek food in a long time! The service was very friendly, the food was very plentiful, and the wait for the food was short. Thanks to our dear friends for the lovely evening.

The food was a bit greasy; we had platters of hot and cold side dishes, then lamb with white beans and bifteki. The salad dressing was too rich for me... The "winter garden" is very nicely designed, and the rest of the interior is fine. So: a good Greek restaurant that deserves another visit!

Good authentic Greek restaurant where one can not expect to find, in a small Bavarian town, if you pull up from the highway from Munich to Nuremberg/Prague (app. 11 km). Great atmosphere, though the food - chicken suvlaki - didn't meet expectations as there was smell and even slight taste of lighter fluid for the grill. It would be good if management looks into that. Afterall, shot of ouzo fixed it for us.

The appetizer platters were great. The meat dishes were tasty and the portions were generous. Prices were a bit high. The recommendation of the week didn't quite convince me; the grilled salmon was excellent, but the spaghetti was boring. The service was friendly and attentive.

The restaurant is large, yet still offers nice, quiet spaces for conversation. There's no time pressure; you can sit and enjoy your meal. The service is good and unobtrusive. The food is good and the portions are generous. I highly recommend it. Parking is somewhat limited, but there are plenty nearby.

Due to the good reviews, we were intrigued and spontaneously went there for dinner. We didn't have a reservation and were immediately shown to a great table. The service was very attentive and friendly. We were also delighted with the food. We were offered a glass of ouzo before our meal and a small pudding on the house afterward. We were thrilled and will be coming back often :)

We decided on the spur of the moment to spend a pleasant evening here with the three of us. The food was consistently delicious: the fries were crispy, the meat skewers were very juicy, the calamari was delicious, the pita was perfect, and the gyro was just as it should be—we'd gladly come back.

We celebrated our birthday again and received magnificent service. The food was excellent. As always, everything was fantastic.

The two of us went there for dinner yesterday. The restaurant has a lovely Greek decor. All the staff were very friendly and kept asking if everything was okay. The food was truly delicious. Unfortunately, there was a mix-up with a starter we had ordered. We didn't say anything, though, as we were already undecided between the two starters. I'm giving it 5 stars because we were really very happy with our visit. We were also given free ouzo and espresso at the beginning and end, and everyone also got a pudding. I highly recommend the restaurant, and we'd gladly come back.

The food was delicious, so I would go back, even though there were few vegetarian options for main courses. The ambiance depends on which part of the restaurant you sit in. I wasn't so satisfied with the service on my first visit. Two out of three waiters didn't understand simple questions, and I had to consult a third waiter who spoke German. Overall, it seemed rather chaotic and took a long time.

Although it's about 30 km away and other Greek restaurants are closer, I always enjoy eating at Sokrates. The quality of the food is simply perfect here, and consistently very good. It's also nice that the side salad here can still be called a side salad and hasn't been reduced to the size that sometimes happens elsewhere. The service staff is always polite, attentive, and courteous, and the obligatory ouzo is always reliably served as a welcome drink ;-) While there are only a few parking spaces in front of the restaurant, there is a large, free parking lot directly across Niederscheyerer Straße, less than 200 meters from the restaurant. Food and Atmosphere good but service is terrible. 3 times eating there now as a family and always the same. All waiters and servers can walk past your table multiple times and never look to your table or check. Slow service, late service, forget what you ask for. Place needs a manager.

The Socrates restaurant in Pfaffenhofen impresses with its excellent cuisine, which is characterized by freshness, quality and authentic preparation. The service is consistently professional, courteous and friendly. The atmosphere is pleasant and well-kept. In summary, in my opinion it is the best restaurant in the entire district - food, service and ambience at the highest level.

Unfortunately, we cannot understand these great reviews. We reserved a table for two 14 days ago based on the reviews. When we arrived, a table for two was taken away from another table and we were squeezed in about 25 cm away from this table. We then reserved a table for a replacement seat 14 days in advance. That's just outrageous, we are then after a short while got up and left without ordering. This place will never see us again

Tonight we visited Socrates for the first time to celebrate our adult daughter's birthday. We were impressed with the excellent service and the food was delicious. Thank you for a great evening.

Unfortunately very disappointed, Tzatziki is very angry, as I was about this visit. You usually get Retina with Sprite separately so that you can prepare it yourself, here you get it ready in a carafe, which is a shame. The grill plate, here the lamb cutlet was completely over-salted, souflakie was so white, has nothing to do with meat. Despite pointing out that we weren't happy, there was no reaction, just a small pudding with cream. This is not correct behavior if a customer is not satisfied. But good, so 4 adults disappointed... and not recommended

We were there on January 1st. Evening with 5 adults and two children. The ambience is great. There is a large selection of food and everyone enjoyed it very much. The portion sizes are reasonable. I would particularly like to highlight the very child-friendly staff! Maybe a little higher priced for the location and type of restaurant. Still happy again.
