Restaurant SEN in Norderney

Delicious food, friendly staff and our dog was allowed in too.

Always "just" fish is not possible. We visited Sen based on a recommendation. Compared to other restaurants, the prices here are still good. I heartily recommend the mango salad as a starter. Very special. The coconut curry sauce was good, but I was still missing a bit of kick. The duck was crispy and tender inside. Fine, very fine. And like in many Asian restaurants: the vegetables are nice and firm to the bite, there is more flavor to them. We'd love to come back. Thank you!

Service only 1 star because the service was unfriendly. Enjoying the guests and the job looks different. You would have to apologize for daring to eat there. Very unfortunate.

Food was okay, but could be even better. Waitress was really funny, looked stupid and stuff like that. Then at the end we saw that people were smoking in the kitchen, extremely disgusting. I don't even want to know what deadly substances are in the food from the smoke. Very disgusting!!! If you want good Asian food, go 700m down the street to ChampaNey, a clear recommendation!! I'll never eat here again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone!!!!

First of all, the positives: The ambience is quite okay. To eat : Unfortunately disappointing. Apart from the basically flat taste, the main thing is that the ingredients that were listed on the menu for the dish were not used at all in the dish (specifically: the Asian rice noodle herb salad was completely missing - no joke - herbs - but there were lots and lots of iceberg lettuce). Or in another case, the specified ingredients were replaced by other ingredients (specifically: in my daughter's sushi, pickled radish was replaced with mango without comment - unfortunately my daughter doesn't like mangoes, but she really likes radish). About the service: We kindly pointed out to the waitress that these two dishes were different than what was stated on the menu. Less than two minutes later, an increasingly loud owner stood in front of us, complaining for a long time just to avoid having to admit a mistake. When I didn't respond and pointed out the information on the menu, he grabbed my daughter's sushi, visibly upset, and came back 10 minutes later with a new plate and slammed it in front of us. Really not a nice guest experience (not even for the other guests because of the owner's loudness) in this store. But when I read the other reviews, it seems we are not alone.

Very good food Friendly service

We had dinner there this evening and really enjoyed it. Small dining room, super delicious food, fair prices and a nice ambience (personal opinion). My husband and I both ate the duck in coconut milk curry sauce and both thought it was delicious. The baked banana with honey was very unusual in Sen, the breading was slightly salty and very cross, a taste highlight for me. Only recommended!!!!

Nice place, the food is good but nothing special. The ambience is nice, with a few pictures of Vietnam. The staff is attentive, the food came quickly and was very hot. The sharpness is Germanized. Prices as usual high since Corona.

We were at SEN today with 11 people. It was simply a successful evening in a great atmosphere with very tasty food. The service is very attentive and extremely friendly, we felt very welcome. Absolute recommendation! We will eat there again on our next Norderney vacation.

The food is super tasty and there are only suitable dishes on the menu. We recommend the summer rolls. For most dishes you can choose the meat side dish, whether chicken, duck or fish. It's not usual to ask for a lot, so you have to pay a little attention if you want to order something, but it's not a problem and paying at the counter is also easy. Thank you for a very tasty dinner.

Super delicious food with friendly service. Price performance fully met. I had a curry that couldn't be faulted. Reservation went smoothly, would be happy again.

Were there for the first time today. We spontaneously decided to eat there and got a table. Service was very nice. The restaurant is small but nicely decorated. The menu offers a large selection of dishes. We had a starter and main courses. The portions could be a little larger. If you're hungry, it might not be enough without an appetizer. Prices are ok. But we would like to come back to try other dishes.

1. You should NEVER, EVER go to a restaurant where no one is sitting inside!!! 2. If so, you should have been there before and KNOW that it tastes good!!!!!!! 3. If NO ONE is sitting in the restaurant, then the waitress could take care of the only guests??? No, is everything to your satisfaction, no, would you like something more to drink, no one has come to collect!! Then I went to the counter and paid there!! 4. Food so-so, We both had a vegetarian meal with tofu but different! My wife had the dish with peanut sauce, which didn't taste like peanuts or only tasted a little like peanuts. Nevertheless, both plates looked and tasted the same! Tofu was completely unseasoned and the sauce was so watery!! Some people like that!! 5. Not again!!! Then go to Umi Sen!! More of a snack bar (but you can also eat there) Really delicious!!!

If you like Vietnamese cuisine, you may be disappointed. The price-performance ratio is okay for the island, but it is more of a satisfaction of hunger than a satisfaction of enjoyment. There are far better ways to end the evening on the island for this price.

The taste of the food was very well rounded, everything was perfect from the cooking point to the taste. The service was nice and reasonably quick.

We had a great evening with very tasty food. The dishes are very mildly flavored and super fresh. We found the service to be extremely committed and friendly. We'd love to come back. (For children: there are also fries if necessary ;-) )

Super tasty, authentic, honest. Prices are fair. Cozy atmosphere, the boss is very friendly and in a good mood. Despite Easter time, we were still able to get seats here without a reservation. This may be due to the location on the side street. We initially ordered to be picked up and we liked it so much that we ate there again two days later. A delicious alternative to the sometimes overpriced prices of some restaurants on Norderney.

We were there with four people on the Easter weekend. Unfortunately, the service staff was not at all capable of criticism. We ordered various main courses with peanut sauce. The meat and vegetables were great for everyone. But the sauce was very liquid and consisted of cream and coconut milk. It was more reminiscent of coconut soup. When the waiter was approached, he reacted very rudely and brought a bowl with a spoon...which still didn't resemble any sauce but looked like a very thin soup. No peanut taste to be found. We weren't noticed any further after that...no question as to whether we wanted to drink something, etc. However, we were given plum wine with the bill, and when one of us said with a smile, "For the stomach," the waiter replied, "For the bad breath." It's a real shame, the shop itself is nice but it's clear to us we won't be coming back.

As a family we waited 25 minutes just to be able to order something (table of 6)! Then the boss came to the table completely annoyed and aggressive and complained that we should now order “Zack, Zack!” Incredible idea! As an inviter, I had to exert myself extremely hard not to get up and leave immediately! Eating 0815, everything tastes the same and is thrown out! At the end there was a booze that tasted like gummy bears, on the house! When we left the door handle fell on the floor! Conclusion: Never again and also as a recommendation to others!

If you like Thai food you can save yourself the visit. If you like standard pseudo-Asian cuisine for German audiences à la Asia Quick, you might be in good hands here. Way too expensive for what you get. The man at the counter/service seemed very annoyed and had no desire to prepare drinks that were on the menu. Overall atmosphere tense. So, it's better not to go. There are many good other restaurants here.

The food was quite positive and tasty. Only the side salad had slight brown spots. The restaurant itself makes a good impression. What could be improved, however, would be the service itself. The service was rather curt and I found it almost rude. She was also not very attentive. At no time was anyone asked after the food was served, how much more they wanted to drink, etc. Other restaurants were much friendlier in terms of service.

One of the best restaurants on Norderney. Definitely worth a visit.

I don't know where these positive reviews come from, I've never eaten so badly in my life, the meat was absolutely tasteless like it was ready to eat, I can advise anyone not to eat or order anything there...

Were a bit misled by the good reviews. My starter tasted like frozen food, the main course had a lot of jelly-like sauce thickening - something I only know from ready-to-mix sauces. The prices are still reasonable, but the price-performance ratio itself is not quite right. The older gentleman served in a friendly manner and with a smile, the young lady carelessly slammed the glasses for the drinks onto the table and was otherwise in a rather worse mood. I think there are more than enough alternatives on Norderney. A pity!

Absolutely unfriendly and rude service. We ordered crispy duck with peanut sauce and vegetables. I got 0815 chicken fillets with vegetables in a watery broth, the taste of which I searched for in vain. The included peanut sauce was unbeatable in terms of audacity. How you can call something like that a sauce is a mystery to me. A HALF LITER of peanut WATER was filled into an extra cup, which could have been spooned out as soup. The restaurant looks very nice from the outside. But as soon as you come into contact with the staff and food, you will be taught otherwise. On vacation you should be able to look forward to your food. There are certainly some other restaurants on Norderney where this is certainly the case. At least not here!

The food is really good and the staff is very friendly. Only the beer, like everywhere else on the island, is far too expensive.

Vegan takes on a new dimension here. What flavors! Strangely enough, this restaurant has no awards or honorable mention. There are organizations sleeping, send a mystery guest asap. The cocktails are also more than a feast for the mouth.

Wirklich nett da.Die Mitarbeiter waren sehr zuverlässig ich und meine Familie sind da sehr sauber angekommen.Der Service war auch unschlagbar und der Preis war für das leckere Essen sehr gut 👍🏼. Für mich 5 Sterne verdient.

Das Essen war leider nur so lala. Es war etwas langweilig, aber hat nicht schlecht geschmeckt.Ich hatte ein vegetarisches Erdnuss-Curry mit Tofu. Die Soße war recht flüssig und hat kaum nach Erdnuss geschmeckt. Also einfach zu lasch. Etwas wenig Gemüse. Der Tofu war gut zubereitet. Reisnudeln statt Reis zum Curry hätte mich 4€ gekostet. Das finde ich zu teuer. Unsere Kellnerin hatte vermutlich einen schlechten Tag. Sie wirkte eher genervt und kurz angebunden. Kein Lächeln. Später hatte wir einen anderen Kellner, der dagegen sehr freundlich war. Ich würde vermutlich nicht nochmal hingehen.

Auf Norderney gibt's genügend Restaurants die man besuchen kann. Warum mal nicht beim Asiaten! Das SEN wurde uns empfohlen. Die Bedienung war freundlich aber ein wenig hektische. Wie üblich beim Bestellen muss man die Nummel 🙂 sagen. Es hat alles gepasst und wir können es bedenkenlos weiter empfehlen.

Wir waren während unseres Norderney-Urlaubs 2 Mal dort essen und sind restlos zufrieden. Der Service ist super nett, auch für unseren Vierbeiner wurde bestens gesorgt. Das Essen schmeckte einfach nur lecker! Meine Empfehlung: Nr. 65 (knusprige Ente mit Massaman-Curry)! Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Kommunikation mit den Angestellten sehr schwierig. das Essen ist ok! Wir haben zur Abholung bestellt, extra Erdnussauce dazu. Was wir bekommen haben kann man nicht als Erdnuss bezeichnen, war viel zu flüssig. Ansonsten Bratnudeln und Ente etc. waren gut

Sehr schöne Lokation. Das Personal war freundlich und das Essen kam sehr schnell und war lecker. Das Restaurant liegt nicht direkt in der Fußgängerzone und war dadurch nicht so überlaufen.

Wir waren bereits drei Mal hier. Super tolles Essen, es hat gut geschmeckt, alle sind satt geworden. Gute Auswahl an Speisen. Netter Empfang. Haben einen Tisch reserviert, da das Restaurant nicht so groß ist. Wer authentisch Asiatisch essen möchte und nicht diesen Flatrate Fraß, ist hier richtig. Und den Hirsch Wildlaxwein kann ich empfehlen. Wir kommen mal wieder!

Hätte ich mehr als 5 Sterne geben können ,hätte ich ihn 10 von 10 gegeben ,das Essen der Service ist wirklich sehr gut ,ich verstehe die schlechten Bewertungen nicht ? Wir leben auf der Insel und jedesmal ist das Essen perfekt und der Service auch genau so die Sauberkeit ist super, es ist immer wieder gemütlich hier .Wir fühlen uns hier sehr wohl .Also bitte hört doch auf als Touristen wenn das Bier nicht schnell genug am Tisch ist oder hier viel los ist euch dann beschweren , es ist doch normal das man nicht mit einen Lappen rum fuchtelt und die Tische abwischen tut ,informiert euch doch mal wieviele Touristen hier jeden Tag auf die Insel kommen ,er macht alles alleine bis auf die Küche, hat noch nicht einmal Bedienungen.

Restaurant existiert dort seit 2018, Inhaberin sehr nett und offenherzig. Das Essen hat 6☆ verdient, absolut frisch und lecker. Wan Tan Suppe sehr zu empfehlen! Alles frisch gekocht, Ambiente auch sehr nett. Kommen sehr gerne wieder! Seine 5☆ absolut verdient und als Geheimtipp definitiv vorzumerken!

Etwas abseits gelegen aber einen Besuch wert! Service sehr zuvorkommend und flink. Speisen frisch und gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis.

Nach vielen Bewertungen haben wir es heute ausprobiert. Fazit: Mega lecker. Mal was anderes als andere Asiaten oder Chinesen. Wer es mag, gute Auswahl an Sommerrollen und Sushi. Wir würden jederzeit wieder kommen! Essen - volle Punktzahl.

Erwartungen waren sehr hoch von der Küche, wurden aber sehr weit übertroffen. 100% Empfehlung!

Das Essen ist da sooo lecker. Der Service war super. Alle mega nett. Das ist mein Lieblingsasiate auf Norderney und gehen dort immer essen, wenn wir da sind. 😍

Sehr sauber, sowie freundlicher und schneller Service. Das Restaurant ist eine Straße von der Fußgängerzone entfernt und somit ist hier viel weniger los. Wer richtig hungrig ist sollte hier hin ausweichen anstatt sich für eine Pizza die Füße wund zu stehen. PS: Für die Menschen, welche sich mit der asiatischen Kultur nicht auskennen, die (geschlossenen) Getränkeflaschen am Eingang sind eine symbolische Opfergabe und nicht Müll.

Super leckere Sommerrollen mit Rind und Mini Frühlingsrollen! Kommen sehr gerne wieder!

UPDATE : Besuch ein Jahr später am frühen Nachmittag. Mehr oder weniger selber Gericht. Das Essen war fad und hatte mit Thai Curry wenig zu tun, eher laff. Die Portion war von der Größe her okay, Tofu statt Fleisch. Qualitativ aber deutlich schlechter als 2022. Ich habe hier abends um 21:00 noch etwas zu essen bekommen obwohl die Küche offenbar schon geschlossen gewesen ist. Die Bedienung und der Koch scheinen Familie zu sein und ist sehr nett und freundlich gewesen. Das Thai Curry mit Ente war meine Wahl und die Portion war groß genug für meinen Abendhunger, schön arrangiert und schmeckte auch frisch. Ich hatte freie Platzwahl, der Laden war so gut wie leer als ich kam freitags abends. Würde ich wieder hingehen.

Die Service Tür knallt regelmäßig sehr laut. Aber die Bedienung ist freundlich und das Essen schmeckte hervorragend!

Ein etwas unscheinbar wirkendes Restaurant. Es gibt einige wenige vegane Gerichte, die uns gut geschmeckt haben. Die weibliche Bedienung hat leider keine Lust auf ihren Job.

Das Essen war ohne Geschmack. Paniertes Essen und Salat schwamm in der Sosse. Ein absolutes Nogo. Von uns gibt es keine Empfehlung.

Tolles Essen, toller Service und sehr gastfreundlich! Wir wurden sehr freundlich empfangen und bewirtet und das obwohl sie die Küche bereits gereinigt hatten (aufgrund Verspätung der Fähre waren wir erst spät auf der Insel). Hier steht der Gast im Mittelpunkt, was auf Norderney leider nicht immer selbstverständlich ist. Vielen Dank für das tolle Essen und die Gastfreundlichkeit.
