The view is great. The food was really not very good and dessert was very stingy. Reasonably high prices for that. Nice waiter, but Matje's housewife style is original without yoghurt. Also here in Travemünde. It's a shame actually

We had a fried fish in a roll for €5, which was an absolute joke. I felt really ripped off. First of all, it takes forever for staff to come despite the bell ringing. When we asked if we wanted tartar sauce, I asked what else they had and then only tartar sauce came. So you could have saved yourself the question. You get a small fish tail end on a roll with a dollop of tartar sauce and 1 tomato and 1 pickle. We won't go there anymore, I'd rather spend a little more money and get a decent sandwich.

Great restaurant right on the water, cozy atmosphere, top service, delicious food

We were there on New Year's Eve (New Year's Eve menu) and were pleasantly surprised. Excellent food and friendly service! Because we liked it so much, we went there again for dinner yesterday. Just as delicious again! Overall, highly recommended.

Had Scholle Finkenwerder Art and it was absolutely delicious. Would go back next time I visit

I'm a little disappointed for the money, I was expecting better quality

Disappointing. The location is of course great when the big boats sail right next to the table and the small boats dance on the waves of the Trave. However - even despite the VAT increase - the prices are not justified. Scampi skewer was dry and small, carelessly smeared bread and boringly presented overcooked vegetables - €20. Surf-n-Turf turned out to be a mini rump steak with 1 scampi+ side dish for €35. Octupus salad was not edible. The service wasn't good, did the waiters there have other things to do? No, they stood around and my husband had to get up several times to order more drinks. The waiting time for the food itself was also very long. The small children in tow did not tolerate the time in the restaurant well - despite all the big ships. We were told that you can probably eat matjes there. But we don't have to visit again.

The reserved table was right by the window with a great view of the Trave. The drinks and food served were delicious and reasonably priced. Definitely worth recommending.

Very good food with a view of the water and the ferries arriving and departing just a few meters away. A visit is always worth it. We will also come back when we are back in Travemünde.

A very nice restaurant with a good view of the Trave. The service was very friendly and solved small errors immediately. There was a delicious tomato soup and a surf and turf with baked potato and sour cream. Unfortunately the steak was not medium but medium plus. Because the meat is of very good quality, it is still very tasty

Wieder einmal haben wir das Restaurant SEEBÄR aufgesucht und waren froh, vorab einen Tisch reserviert zu haben, denn das Restaurant war total ausgebucht. Dennoch war der Service aufmerksam und ohne jede Hektik. Ich wählte als Vorspeise eine Fischsuppe (8,90 €), die mir ausgezeichnet schmeckte. Als Hauptgang entschieden wir uns für den sog. SEEBÄREN-SCHMAUS (19,50 €), Entenkeule (leider die letzte Verfügbare, denn wir 3 hatten uns alle dafür entschieden) sowie Nudel mit Steak. Alle Gerichte entsprachen sowohl vom Geschmack, von der Optik und auch der Menge unseren Vorstellungen. Die Getränke waren gut gekühlt. Es war wieder einmal ein netter und zwangloser Abend .

From start to finish there was great service, I haven't experienced such friendly staff in a long time! There were 6 of us and everyone was 100% satisfied with the food! Super tasty fish, everything perfectly seasoned! Happy to come back!

The food was delicious and served very quickly. The restaurant is beautifully located on the water. We had a fish platter for two and we think it is too big for two, which of course can be seen as an advantage. There was also Pinot Gris - a bit sour but that was still ok. Fair prices.

Nice restaurant with good fish dishes. Price performance fits. Cod in mustard sauce is recommended. But you should order an extra portion of saice.

Very good restaurant on the water

There were five of us eating there today, I had herring with fried potatoes. The matjes was full of greta. When I asked if that much was normal, I was told that a few would be normal, over 20 pieces??? Fried potatoes were swimming in fat and barely seasoned. My partner had the turkey steak which was probably good but very little. A friend had currywurst with fries, the currywurst was almost black. A friend had the grill plate 3 pieces of meat very dry twice and herb butter was forgotten at first. When asked, the waiter mumbled something and brought the herb butter without a word. When I went to the toilet there were dried remains of stool stuck under my glasses that were obviously older. When I pointed this out to the waiter, he almost became cheeky. Conclusion Price performance is not right, it is dirty and service is terrible never again!

We immediately reserved a table for Saturday.

Just good. Right on the water, whether in the winter garden on the outdoor terrace or in the restaurant, the view of the Trave is brilliant. In addition, there is good cuisine and great service.

Super friendly, courteous, clean, helpful for disabled people, only toilets are too small. Food very tasty. Would definitely 100% recommend, we will always come back. Kuhn family.

I ate a fried herring roll there. It was a huge disappointment and the worst fish roll I've ever eaten :( the fish was small, there was no taste, the roll tasted like the day before. The waitress gave the impression of being unmotivated and annoyed and could not be found among other guests. Too bad

Plaice was a great choice, delicious!!!

We ate here three days ago. The food was partly ok. It wasn't the plaice and the carpaccio was frozen in the middle. Despite a reservation, we were not shown into the covered restaurant but into the next room, which looked more like a canteen. We cannot recommend it. The nicest thing about the restaurant were definitely the two waiters.

We had lunch at Seebär today and it tasted very good. All of the dishes were fresh. The fish was cooked to perfection. The price-performance ratio is given. The restaurant is located directly on the Baltic Sea, the service was very friendly and nice. Overall, a clean restaurant in the middle of Travemünde and recommended. We'd love to come back.

Friendly service, very good food, mussels and fish plates.

We only stopped in because it was the only place that advertised fresh mussels. And it exceeded all of our expectations. We cannot understand the complaints here online. The waiters were quick and friendly, the food was great and the ambience right on the water was simply amazing. A clear recommendation for us and even if you are in an exposed location directly on the Trave, you do NOT have tourist rip-off prices. Everything within the framework and good value for money.

Erneut war ich - diesmal mit Gästen - im Restaurant SEEBÄR zum Essen, weil ich um die gute Qualität der Speisen, den aufmerksamen Service und nicht zuletzt um die tolle Uferlage wusste. Meine Gäste wählten Backfisch mit Bratkartoffeln bzw Kartoffelsalat (15,50 €) sowie Salat (4,20 €) und ich mal wieder Knurrhahn mit Pfifferlingen (25,90 €). Die Getränke: alkoholfreies Weizen (5,20 €) und Pellegrino (3,70 €) waren gut temperiert und der Service wie immer aufmerksam.

Empfehlen würde ich dieses Restaurant nicht - ich habe nichts gegen Raucher, aber ein rauchender Kellner, der fast den Eingang zum Restaurant versperrt... Mein Essen, Panfisch mit Bratkartoffeln, war fast geschmacklos, der Fische wässerte förmlich; Also ich war nicht zufrieden und würde es wie gesagt nicht empfehlen!!

It's lovely to sit on the terrace with a view of the Trave. The meal, redfish fillet with Bernaise sauce, rosemary potatoes and salad was very tasty and the fish was fried to perfection. A tasty Pinot Gris rounded off the meal. The service was friendly, quick and calm despite being busy. Absolute recommendation.

The restaurant is located right on the water, where large ships pass by, offering a beautiful spectacle. I dared to order prawns because you're on the coast: in theory, fish and seafood should taste good and fresh. And.....It tasted good. I was very happy with my selection. Other dishes usually seem a bit drier to me but certainly taste good too. Price-performance ratio is ok for this location and the tourist appeal of this corner. If it had been a normal restaurant I still think it's a bit expensive...but it's in Trave. One point deducted because of the service...maybe Italian waitresses can only remain poker faces🤐. Small update, I ordered the same dish again a few days later. It tastes different, rather worse, the sauce was prepared sloppily. I always think it's a shame that many restaurants can't maintain the quality of the food.🤨

Even though the restaurant looks pretty dated from the outside, the food is well made. Up to date without all the gimmicky stuff you find elsewhere. Since I don't eat meat, I ordered the linguine with chanterelles, which was actually served with beef fillet tips. Instead of the beef fillet tips, I got even more chanterelles. There was a wonderful sauce with a good balsamic vinegar note. I could have wallowed in this one. This was so delicious! Should I return to Travemünde, this restaurant will definitely be my first choice!

Nach mehrmonatiger Pause besuchte ich aufgrund der Angebote auf den Tafeln im Aussenbereich wieder einmalig das Restaurant SEEBÄR. Bei optimalem Wetter wählte ich einen Tisch direkt an der Kaikante zur Trave mit ansprechendem Blick auf den regen Schiffsverkehr. Ich entschied mich aus der Tageskarte für Knurrhahn mit Pfifferlingen und erhielt 3 knusprige und schmackhafte Filets in einer perfekten Pfifferlingssauce mit Kartoffelspalten. Der georderte Sauvignon war gut temperiert und ein guter Begleiter zum Fisch. Der Service war freundlich und sachkundig. Der SEEBÄR ist eine gute Adresse, die ich durchaus empfehlen kann.

We decided spontaneously. The food was very tasty. Ordered a seafood plate for 2 people. Portions are large, fish is juicy, fried potatoes with bacon are wonderful. 👍👍👍👍

It's called a café and restaurant, unfortunately you don't get anything to drink. The waiter was so rude and said only eat and kicked us out even though there was plenty of space.

Unreservedly recommended! Service totally attentive and on point. Always up for a casual saying. Special requests are no problem at all. Food is super delicious! Meat on point and side dishes tip top. Not to mention the view! :-)

We really enjoyed the fish platter for two. It was a huge portion for two people. The staff was very attentive, even though he was alone for a while. We can't mention anything negative ;)

Very tasty food with a great view. Service leaves a lot to be desired. We waited 20 minutes for drinks, an hour for food and another almost half an hour for the bill. We had to ask several times when we would get the bill and even though we said we were in a hurry, the waiter calmly split the bill.

Everyone was very nice, we were able to eat there in peace with 2 dogs without any problems. Location very nice. You can observe the ships very well. Food was very tasty. Gladly again

But not anymore. 2024.05: 😞 Portions small and food tough. 2 whole potatoes in one dish for €27 Too bad. 2019 / 2021 :For now: Toilets old but clean. If you don't keep your toilets clean, you won't keep your kitchen clean either. Everything is good here. Glasses, cutlery and plates are all super clean. There was nothing to complain about here. I had the 3 fried herrings with fried potatoes and it wasn't such a measly portion as in the pictures here. Unfortunately it was so delicious that I couldn't take a photo. Very good, not overly fatty fried potatoes and great crispy herrings. I also ordered extra tartar sauce: super awesome. Side salad was large and tasty. Great food for a great price. My wife had bruschetta because she wasn't that hungry, but also had a side salad with it. Very nice. Wine spritzer and naturally cloudy beer were super cold despite the hot day. 🥰 This is always important. The male waiter was quick, polite, courteous and thoughtful. We were definitely not here for the last time 🤤👍 I actually gave it 4*, but I couldn't think of any reason why I shouldn't give it 5*. So: 5* for the performance and the restaurant category. The outdoor terrace could possibly be optimized.

The main course was quite good, the hamburger schnitzel was delicious and the egg was perfectly done. However, for dessert I ordered apple strudel with vanilla sauce and got bad vanilla sauce, very bitter. After that the appetite was gone too, but I got a new one, but there was no apology. also very expensive for the food. My table companions weren't happy with the food either. not again!

We eat at this restaurant about once or twice a month. We were always very satisfied. Service, food and value for money are to our satisfaction.

We sat outside, about 3m from the water. 1 a fish restaurant, service is really on point and you can eat really good fish here. Price/performance top. Even the child got a good breaded fish fillet with fries as an "Ariel plate" and not just fish fingers. Unfortunately, one point was deducted because the guest's table was not 100% wiped beforehand and one salad was not washed well. It shows freshness, but that shouldn't happen given the prices. Not even at peak times. Otherwise, absolute recommendation👍

A great restaurant, right on the promenade, where you can always find a place, whether inside or outside. We were four adults and two children. What I found very excellent was that they responded to our special requests. The food was terrific, more than sufficient and incredibly tasty. Here I have to say, absolutely recommended.

We were there for lunch on Friday. We asked if we could put two tables together. Everything completely problem-free. The staff is super friendly. The food tastes excellent. Price/performance gets 6 stars from me. The ambience at the harbor is of course unbeatable.

The Seebär is well located directly on the Trave. Ate very tasty gurnard. Highly recommended. Nice and friendly staff. At the end of today we had another good meal. "Seebärschmaus", crabs with fried potatoes and fried eggs. It was good again.

I brought the wrong beer. The order for salted nuts was completely ignored. The cuisine is delicious. Afterwards I had to run after him to pay........

Great fish restaurant right on the water. Courteous, friendly staff. Sat outside, nice view of the harbor mouth with its activities. The menu has something for every fish fan, whether it's a classic with herring or other fish (plaice, sea bream, hake, etc.), I can even highly recommend the classic fried fish with ultra-tasty fried potatoes. Of course there are also normal meat dishes, but in a harbor restaurant I recommend the delicious fish variations. We'll definitely be back, by the way, and it wasn't a problem at all to bring a four-legged friend with us.
