Very tasty food and drinks. The fish platter for two was very good. The grilled dish was also very good. Great value for money.

The restaurant is nicely located and has a beautiful view, but apparently we caught a very bad evening. It wasn't full, but we still waited almost 45 minutes before being asked for drinks, and another 20 minutes before we finally got them. The food was very tasty, but the portions were tiny. The incorrectly delivered food was only taken away and replaced with the correct one after asking several times whether it wouldn't be okay to keep the incorrect one. The extra request for potatoes cost €5, instead of maybe adding them for free after all the drama. A bit outrageous. If you want to eat really good fish, you'd better walk a few meters further into the harbor to the galley.

Always good. Unfortunately, we had to wait a little longer than usual for the food.

Dined at Seebär again. The food was truly excellent, the staff were friendly and helpful. The prices were reasonable. We'll definitely be back for dinner on our next trip to Travemünde.

I was here a few years ago. The food is still very good, and so is the service. Absolutely fantastic value for money (location right on the water). Just like last time: I'd gladly go back. ----------------------------- Very good restaurant right next to the cruise terminal. I was so impressed with the food the first time that I went back two more times during my vacation. The menu ranges from fish dishes to pasta to a classic currywurst. Everything was delicious, and the service was also very good! I'd gladly go back.

The food was OK. The service was average.

A very friendly young waiter, and the wait for the food was perfectly acceptable. The food was delicious, and the portions were generous. We sat outside by the water. All in all, a fantastic experience; I highly recommend it. Incidentally, this was our third visit to Seebär, and we'll be back. Thank you for the friendly service and the truly delicious lunch.

Beautiful location with a view of the boats

Great atmosphere, delicious wine. Unfortunately, the salad was very watery. The scampi skewer wasn't good value for money. The vegetables were tasty, the scampi were okay, the bread was cold. Nevertheless, we'll be back...for a glass of Blauer Portugieser!

We visited a cozy restaurant with a fantastic view of the sea, and the experience was as good as the view. The schnitzel we ordered was juicy, flavorful and perfectly cooked - a real treat. The service was fast and efficient, and the friendly waiters contributed to a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. All in all, a great evening that will tempt you to repeat!

We booked a table in advance. You could sit inside or outside, right by the water. It was beautifully decorated. The interior had a tablecloth, a fresh rose, and a candle. The waiter was nice, but rather forcedly nice, or so we felt. The menu included fish, meat, pasta, and desserts. We had the grilled chicken with fries and the garnish chicken with herb potatoes. The salad was nothing special (very simple).

Super delicious fish dishes. The ambiance is perfect, as all the boat traffic passes right by the restaurant.

Highly recommended! The fish (cod) was a dream, and the mustard sauce was also very good. My husband had shrimp in a cognac cream sauce and loved it. Our two friends' meals were also excellent. You can look out over the Trave while you eat, and the service was unobtrusive but very attentive.

Views of the Trave River. A last-minute reservation for several people in wheelchairs, albeit cramped, worked out. The menu has a good selection, and there's also a seasonal menu. Highly recommended.

Generally good, the service could still be improved. But maybe that depends on the day.

Yesterday we had the plaice "Finkenwerder style" and the schnitzel "Hamburger style." The food was plentiful and everything tasted very good.

Attention! Negative experiences will be deleted here! Even though there are enough witnesses. We should have filed a complaint against the waiter!

The Seebär restaurant is located on the waterfront promenade directly on the Trave River, and if you're lucky enough to get a table by the water, the view of the leisurely boats coming and going is the best thing the restaurant has to offer. Unfortunately, the food isn't recommended; the plaice was cooked far too long, and the crabs were small and almost tasteless. The portions are rather small for the price. The service is overwhelmed and not particularly friendly.

Unfortunately, my Finkenwerder-style plaice was unseasoned; it was only good when I added salt and pepper.

The prices are completely inflated. The food isn't worth the price. The drinks are also overpriced. A 0.2! soft drink costs €3.80. You're paying for the restaurant's location. What a shame.

Die Lage ist gut, auch wenn es nicht direkt an der neu restaurierten Promenade liegt. Leider ist das Essen für den gehobenen Preis nicht empfehlenswert. Nudeln verkocht und geschmacklos, Fisch wirkte nicht besonders frisch, hinterließ einen üblen Nachgeschmack. Panna Cotta verbrannt und innen kalt. Die Kellner waren freundlich, wussten aber teilweise nicht was auf der Karte stand.

Beautifully located and a fitting ambiance with the passing boats! Unfortunately, the food was only mediocre! The fried potatoes were undercooked and barely seasoned, and the pan-fried fish was also bland in flavor. A shame.

An honest restaurant with excellent value for money. The food is down-to-earth, although some might consider the menu a bit outdated... we enjoyed it; in good weather, you can sit right on the Trave River.

Wir waren vorgestern im Restaurant. Wir hatten einen Tisch im Gastraum mit Blick auf die Trave. Bestellt haben wir Pasta und Matjes, sowie einen Roséwein. Die Bedienung war sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Der Wein hat uns begeistern. Das Essen war sehr lecker, eine gute Portion und das Preis- Leistungsverhältnis sehr gut. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Disappointing! We were here for the evening on April 17th, 2025 due to the positive feedback. The staff is very friendly, the starters were okay - but a bit bland. 🤔 The highlight of our visit was the main courses. First of all, our son had a long black hair in his noodles…. and then another 5 minutes later there was a small snail in my husband's carbonara. 🥴 We were given a discount on the two main courses... ...however, “the bad feeling in our stomachs” - which we may not have noticed - disgusted us for the rest of the evening. 🥴 🤔 Hmm...., it's just a restaurant that doesn't rely on regular customers. Bon appetit….

Very well eaten and great service

Ordered fish rolls from the bar outside (mackerel fillet rolls). Unfortunately not really good. The roll was not fresh and was from the day before. I've had much better fish sandwiches.

Unfortunately we didn't feel welcome in the restaurant. It was rather difficult with a small child: no high chair, other guests (all 65+ that evening) looking at us askance, tight seating... The staff tried hard and were friendly, but more at other tables than at ours. Food was tasty but not too much ;)

We sat in the heated winter garden by the water, very early in the evening. It wasn't busy, and the service was friendly. We had gurnard fillets and herring fillets, preceded by a rich, creamy fish soup and lobster soup with North Sea shrimp, all highly recommended. The portions of the main courses weren't overwhelming, but they were okay. Everything was well-seasoned and flavorful, not salty.

Very poor food, tasteless or tastes of old fat. Heavy fish soup, just flour. Even the tea is weak. In the bathroom you can stick to the floor

Delicious fish and meat dishes and various starters. Wide choice. Also specialties from Northern Germany. Nice view of the harbor with ferry boats from the Finnline and TT-line passing by. Good service and handling, cozy atmosphere. Beautifully laid tables.

Spontaneous visit to the Seebär and we were not disappointed. The fish soup was very good, labskaus and fried herring, including all the additions, were quite tasty. Price per main course around 15€. The service was attentive and quite quick. Despite the temperatures around 0 degrees, it was very pleasant on the terrace, which was converted into a winter garden, thanks to the sun. We'll definitely take a look again.

We were here on a Friday around 5 p.m. and were lucky to get a nice table by the window with a view before the evening reservations. The location, food and service were impeccable. We had panfish and fried herring, both very tasty, and the fried potatoes were also very good. We'll definitely be back.

Nice restaurant in Travemünde right on the Trave, bright and nicely set tables. Friendly staff and tasty cuisine (had senior fish dish). Price-performance appropriate. Overall, highly recommended location!

The view is great. The food was really not very good and dessert was very stingy. Reasonably high prices for that. Nice waiter, but Matje's housewife style is original without yoghurt. Also here in Travemünde. It's a shame actually

We had a fried fish in a roll for €5, which was an absolute joke. I felt really ripped off. First of all, it takes forever for staff to come despite the bell ringing. When we asked if we wanted tartar sauce, I asked what else they had and then only tartar sauce came. So you could have saved yourself the question. You get a small fish tail end on a roll with a dollop of tartar sauce and 1 tomato and 1 pickle. We won't go there anymore, I'd rather spend a little more money and get a decent sandwich.

We were there on New Year's Eve (New Year's Eve menu) and were pleasantly surprised. Excellent food and friendly service! Because we liked it so much, we went there again for dinner yesterday. Just as delicious again! Overall, highly recommended.

Had Scholle Finkenwerder Art and it was absolutely delicious. Would go back next time I visit

Very tasty food with fast and courteous service.

Disappointing. The location is of course great when the big boats sail right next to the table and the small boats dance on the waves of the Trave. However - even despite the VAT increase - the prices are not justified. Scampi skewer was dry and small, carelessly smeared bread and boringly presented overcooked vegetables - €20. Surf-n-Turf turned out to be a mini rump steak with 1 scampi+ side dish for €35. Octupus salad was not edible. The service wasn't good, did the waiters there have other things to do? No, they stood around and my husband had to get up several times to order more drinks. The waiting time for the food itself was also very long. The small children in tow did not tolerate the time in the restaurant well - despite all the big ships. We were told that you can probably eat matjes there. But we don't have to visit again.

The reserved table was right by the window with a great view of the Trave. The drinks and food served were delicious and reasonably priced. Definitely worth recommending.

Very good food with a view of the water and the ferries arriving and departing just a few meters away. A visit is always worth it. We will also come back when we are back in Travemünde.

A very nice restaurant with a good view of the Trave. The service was very friendly and solved small errors immediately. There was a delicious tomato soup and a surf and turf with baked potato and sour cream. Unfortunately the steak was not medium but medium plus. Because the meat is of very good quality, it is still very tasty

Wieder einmal haben wir das Restaurant SEEBÄR aufgesucht und waren froh, vorab einen Tisch reserviert zu haben, denn das Restaurant war total ausgebucht. Dennoch war der Service aufmerksam und ohne jede Hektik. Ich wählte als Vorspeise eine Fischsuppe (8,90 €), die mir ausgezeichnet schmeckte. Als Hauptgang entschieden wir uns für den sog. SEEBÄREN-SCHMAUS (19,50 €), Entenkeule (leider die letzte Verfügbare, denn wir 3 hatten uns alle dafür entschieden) sowie Nudel mit Steak. Alle Gerichte entsprachen sowohl vom Geschmack, von der Optik und auch der Menge unseren Vorstellungen. Die Getränke waren gut gekühlt. Es war wieder einmal ein netter und zwangloser Abend .

From start to finish there was great service, I haven't experienced such friendly staff in a long time! There were 6 of us and everyone was 100% satisfied with the food! Super tasty fish, everything perfectly seasoned! Happy to come back!

The food was delicious and served very quickly. The restaurant is beautifully located on the water. We had a fish platter for two and we think it is too big for two, which of course can be seen as an advantage. There was also Pinot Gris - a bit sour but that was still ok. Fair prices.

Nice restaurant with good fish dishes. Price performance fits. Cod in mustard sauce is recommended. But you should order an extra portion of saice.
