Heerlijk gegeten en ontzettend vriendelijke bediening. De bouillabaisse als voorgerecht zou ik eenieder aanraden.

Nice location in an old castle, but there is something to be said about the food and service. Waiters were not very attentive, took a long time to serve and forgot some orders. They were all nice. The food: as a main course I had the gnocchi and that was the highlight of the evening. Tasted great and was a nice portion. For dessert I had the dessert variety and it was not good. It looked like a real treat on the plate, but actually every single dish was disappointing. It was all just not well prepared and lacked flavor. All in all, not a bad restaurant, but certainly not special either.

Fantastically run restaurant with a cozy interior and beautiful outdoor terraces with a view of the countryside. The food was impressive both with the tender meat (Eifel deer) and with the delicately seasoned vegetables cooked en pointe (you can go a lot wrong, especially with chanterelles and ratatouille - but not here!). The sauces were also cleverly combined (Riesling sauce with pesto), so that overall the meal was a pure pleasure. But why I'm actually writing this review: you can eat fabulously gluten-free here, because it's mainly bound with corn starch and if you call in advance (especially if you have additional allergies), the kitchen can accommodate this. Unfortunately, the nice farewell at the end of the evening made me forget that I would have liked to take part in the attractive August competition. There is, among other things, an Eifel crime thriller to win! Thank you for the lovely evening!

Unfortunately, the rustic restaurant is currently not that easy to reach because the bridge is being rebuilt down in town after the flood. But you can easily drive up there by car. Great hosts with a nice menu and very good price/performance. Absolutely recommended - even in the afternoon! Beautiful covered outdoor terrace with a view over Schleiden.

The restaurant is located in a vaulted cellar in the basement. When we arrived it was difficult for me to walk the many steps because of my walking difficulties. A very friendly lady at the restaurant showed us another way to get down by elevator via a secret path in the castle. She sent her husband, the cook, to show us the way and pick us up. That gives you a big 5 extra 🌟. The food was lovingly prepared and appetizing. It tasted excellent and arrived after a short wait after ordering. The service was very friendly and attentive. And the atmosphere is very quaint and cozy We'd love to come back. I would actually like to give everything 10 stars, but I would only give 5 stars.

A pleasure for anyone who knows what makes good food. There were four of us and we came across the restaurant by chance. Luckily, we all agreed straight away, we haven't eaten so well in a long time. Homemade for me with a lot of love and passion, the friendly service just took it to a higher level. We came from Cologne, but we already know that we would be happy to make the journey again, considering what awaits us there. Thank you dear ones 🫶

Wonderfully prepared food, a constantly changing menu and very friendly and attentive service. A mix that is simply great. The outdoor terrace with a view is a hit in the summer months. There are also incredibly friendly operators! Bianka and Harald Paulus run the restaurant with passion and passion. We are regular guests there! A gastronomic highlight in the region!

The journey is worth it, very pleasant hosts with excellent cuisine! A tip, drive straight through the town of Schleiden and go straight up Drive to the castle, there is a large parking lot to the right of the castle the fees can be used freely.

Actually, 5 stars are not enough to describe the food in this restaurant! Everything was fresh and cooked with love. The flavors were very surprising but above all very tasty! All dishes were prepared with great care. The service here was fantastic. We received excellent and extremely hospitable service. I would recommend everyone to eat here! It's a great experience.

Incredible food! It was the best we had in quite some time, the hostes was very kind and the atmosphere is also great. If we're ever in the area again we will definitely have dinner here again. 10/10!

Wat een mooi uitzicht hadden we buiten,en wat een vriendelijk ontvangst. Nadat we wat te drinken hadden besteld kwam de menukaart..alles op je gemak kun je uitzoeken,advies vragen,en het was verrukkelijk..de wijn die m’n dochter dronk ik de koffie het was echt geweldig..hier moet je zijn voor heerlijk eten,super vriendelijk bediening en het uitzicht/gebouw waar het restaurant zich bevind alles was top

Very good, artisanal, properly prepared food! I was pleasantly surprised and didn't expect to eat so well. The service was friendly and quick. The potato cream with the bread basket was very tasty. The bread, on the other hand, wasn't great, but it was definitely good. I then had a nice crispy and creamy asparagus cordon bleu on asparagus salad. It was great, but I would have liked the portion to be a little larger. The salmon carpaccio was wonderfully refreshing. The rump steak that followed was perfectly fried! The pepper sauce that came with it turned out to be a mix of morel sauce with pepper and was sensational. The chef unknowingly gave me a nice gift because I love morels. That probably wasn't even intentional, but more of a shortcut 😉👍🏻 For such a beautiful piece of meat, a higher quality side dish than the sweet potato fries would be nicer. But I understand the concept that is probably adapted to the guests. The rooms are certainly a highlight in winter but a bit dark in summer. But that's just how it is and for this meal you can generously overlook the ambience. Absolutely recommended!

Unfreundliches Personal. Wurde regelrecht angeranzt, weil ich es mir erlaubt hatte nach meiner bestellten Sauce zu fragen. Diese kam dann endlich als mein Fleisch schon fast kalt war und dann wurden auch noch Dosenchampignons verwendet. Bei den Preisen erwarte ich frische Champignons! Habe hier schon sehr gut gegessen in der Vergangenheit, leider war mein letzter Besuch dort auch mein allerletzter

Culinary food, in a special location, good service

Unusual! Excellent cuisine, excellent service and a dream view of the city from the terrace. You can't feel more comfortable. The whole family was thrilled. This place is worth a trip. We will be back.

We are happy every time we are with you, the atmosphere is simply great and very cozy. The service is very nice and accommodating. Now we come to the food, which is simply gigantic, the fish dishes are fantastic. The starters and desserts are hard to put into words. You are great, please keep it up!!

Best restaurant in the Eifel. Fish dishes are particularly recommended. But every dish is a dream. Yesterday we had a wonderful meal and sat again. I can only warmly recommend the chanterelle menu! A culinary delight! Now enjoyed the March menu today. All courses are an absolute delight!!

Here's someone trying to play in a league where they definitely don't belong. The meat is actually of absolutely high quality - but the preparation simply lacks the pizzazz or that certain something. The service is friendly, but middle class at best. The restaurant is nicely decorated - like many others. I would like to eat here if the price-performance ratio was right. But the prices are those of an exceptional star restaurant - and we're still a long way from that here.

5 stars are actually not enough. Everything was great from A to Z. Very nice, clean and cozy atmosphere. The reception (the boss welcomes you here) was very friendly. The food, of really good quality, was really tasty and beautifully prepared (the boss cooks here). The service (the boss) was very attentive. Nothing was left to be desired 🙃 worth a visit at any time.

Our wedding meal was perfect! The guests and we were thrilled by the quality and taste. Definitely worth a visit. The Paulus family delivers the best food and service. Thank you again.

Supervriendelijke mensen, goede service en het belangrijkste: het eten was verrukkelijk! In jaren niet zo goed wild gegeten, bijzondere dagschotel (papegaaivis) en ze hield rekening met het doorbakken met mijn zwangerschap. Grote aanrader!

Heerlijk gegeten. Mooi uitzicht op het terras. Het vrouwtje dat ons hielp was ook super lief, en ze liep zo hard omdat het waarschijnlijk druk was. Respect voor haar.

Familiengeführtes Restaurant mit guter, ausgewogener Karte und erstklassigen Speisen. Auch der Service lässt keine Wünsche offen. Ein Highlight auf der Karte ist das Medaillon und Ragout vom Eifelreh. Die Kombination mit Spitzkohl ist eine gelungene Überraschung und wird getoppt durch das Kakao-Chilijus in Zusammenspiel mit Rhabarber.

Leuk restaurant met goed eten en sfeervolle inrichting. Restaurant is gevestigd in een kasteeltje. Als je met de auto bent, kun je je auto parkeren dicht bij het restaurant. De heuvel op in de smalle gang, doorrijden tot je de parkeerplek aan de rechterkant ziet.

Ja! Wat heerlijk hier! Hier staat iemand in de keuken die weet hoe je koken moet. Alles was lekker. Van bij gerecht tot hoofdgerecht. Perfecte biefstuk en heerlijke schnitzel, goeie groentjes. En een prachtige plek. Aanrader ✨

Ik had reviews bekeken die waren niet zo best. Maar ik kwam er achter dat er sinds april een nieuwe eigenaar is. En die kok weet echt wat culinair betekend. We hebben heerlijk gegeten . We hebben zelf een B&B in de buurt en kunnen onze gasten er met een gerust hart heen sturen. Echt een opsteker voor Schleiden.

Service impeccable, très Pro, je ne parle pas Allemand mais l on fait son possible pour nous. De vraiment belle surprise côté cuisine, C était succulent, belle mise en valeur des produits.

Палац з вигляду так собі. На малюнках виглядає ліпше! Обійшли його з різних боків, витративши на все хвилин 20. Можливо, коли буде гарна погода (ми були у середині березня, та ще й дощ мрячив) посидіти у ресторані (знаходиться прямо у палаці), посмакувати каву, та насолодитися видом на річку. Заради одного палацу їхати не варто. Але якщо плануєте, обов’язково відвідайте пам’ятки поруч)

18 months since I visited this great restaurant and it did not disappoint. The atmosphere is special and the food excellent, well presented and plentiful. The experienced waitress is a character and though she professes not to have any English, you will get by with lots of imitations and amusement. Every bit as good as it used to be and essential if you are in the Gemund/Schleiden area or even the Eiffel region.

A bit hidden but worth the detour. We’ve visited this restaurant while we stayed in Gemund. Settled in the keller of the schloss the location is very nice, staff is friendly and the food very good. They serve some german dishes like schnitzel and hakze but there are dishes like ravioli and Carpaccio as well. We had the schnitzel and pork medaillons with mushroom and creamsauce. Both very tender and good. When you’re in the neighbourhood definitely worth a visit! (We brought our 1 year Old, which was fine for he’s a quiet child and they provide high chairs. But it’s a somewhat formal location so I wouldn’t go here when your child likes to explore)

I ate three times in Schloss Schleiden during my holiday in October 2016. The vaulted cream painted walls, quirky decorations and candle light add to the sense of occasion, and the staff are welcoming and helpful but with limited English. They make up for this with a sense of humour. We established what the German for duck was through quackery. The quality of the food is first rate and it is superbly cooked and very well presented. The Eifel trout was especially delicious. And the creme brulee is a work of art.

Located in a former castle/palace built in the 12th century. Stopped by during an afternoon guided walk and had a late afternoon coffee. Whilst we don't speak German and the staff do not speak English, we were able to order and had a lovely afternoon coffee break. Looked a very interesting restaurant and would like to return to further enjoy the full restaurant deal.

My rating of 5 stars is based on good food in a nice surrounding. It was the last night of our vacation and wanted to eat in style. It really has pizzazz to drive up to a castle for dinner. And it did not disappoint!

We had a family dinner at the castle Schleiden with 4 kids and 6 adults. Atmosphere is informal classic. Food is good, wine list is great. The menu is a combination of French and Geman cuisine with classics like Winer Schnitzel but also duck in orange sauce. Service is good with an eye for the kids and half portions. With 400 euro I consider the bill pretty cheap. Wouldn't hesitate to come back here.

Hard to drive to, but a wonderful view with excellent local organic food. Try the mustard soup and the whole fried trout. Delicious!
