Restaurant Sandplacken in Schmitten im Taunus

Wir waren nur zum Kaffee dort. Käsekuchen schien aufgetaut und der Kuchenboden war durchgeweicht. Der Cappuccino war gut. Die Bedienung, trotz der vielen Gäste, freundlich und zuvorkommend.

Bei tollem Wetter, ganz tolles Essen, tolles Service.

Naja, okay. Die Spätzle waren nicht gebraten. Eher gekocht und die Sahnekäsesosse hatte n komischen Geschmack. Hatte mir was anderes vorgestellt. Insgesamt nicht teuer aber Sachen wie Schnitzel oder Steaks wollte ich da eher nicht essen

Trotz ca. nur zu 50% belegter Plätze im Außenbereich wurde ein Sitzplatz im Schatten verweigert. Das ist eine bodenlose Frechheit und mehr als unverschämt.

Service sehr nett. Gekühltes Fassbier hervorragend.

Das Essen ist lecker (4 Sterne), der Service immer sehr freundlich (5 Sterne).

Wir haben das Restaurant am Sonntag besucht – es gab ein Buffet. Es gab verschiedene Grillgerichte, zwei Salate, eine im Kessel über dem Feuer gekochte Suppe und Forelle. Alles war köstlich. Ein besonderes Dankeschön an die Kellner für ihren superschnellen und aufmerksamen Service! Wir kommen gerne wieder und werden das Restaurant weiterempfehlen.

Absolut begeistert. Wir wären heute "spontan" vor Ort, wollten schon ewig mal hier einkehren. Was soll ich sagen, es war einfach bombastisch. Egal welches essen, es war auf den Punkt genau gegart und gewürzt. Eine Empfehlung zum Dessert: Papanasch. Wir kommen wieder. 👍👍👍

Während mehrere Mitarbeiter morgens am 1. Mai auf der Terrasse offensichtlich Vorbereitungen getroffen haben, haben wir einen Verpflegungsstand für das Radrennen aufgebaut. Wir sind nach dem Aufbau mit 3 Frauen rüber gegangen, wollten einen Kaffee kaufen und auf die Toilette gehen. Der Inhaber hat uns sehr deutlich und unfreundlich rübergebracht, dass wir noch keinen Kaffee bekommen könnten. Auf die freundliche Frage, ob wir dann auf Toilette gehen dürfte, hat er auch grimmig verneint. Die Tür stand offen, es war viel Personal da, das Restaurant hat sich auf die Zuschauer des Radrennens vorbereitet (und mit den Zuschauern sicherlich genügend Umsatz gemacht). Dass man ehrenamtlichen Helferinnen den Toilettengang verwehrt zeigt die nicht vorhandene Gastfreundschaft. Gerne hätte ich dort nachmittags eine Bratwurst oder etwas anderes gegessen, so aber leider nicht. Wir hätten auch bezahlt, um auf Toilette zu gehen.

Das Essen war gut, ebenso der Service. Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis war somit stimmig. Unangenehm war die permanente Lautstärke der beschleunigenden Motorräder, die an der Abbiegung zum oder vom Feldberg beschleunigten.

Wir waren gestern am 01. Mai da. Angeboten wurde ein Buffet mit gegrilltem Fleisch und Kartoffelsalat sowie Krautsalat. Stolzer Preis für 29,90 Euro pro Person. Das Grillfleisch war allerniedrigstes Qualitätsniveau, geschmacklich hat alles gleich „geschmeckt“. Diese Erfahrung möchten wir dort nicht noch einmal machen.

Schmutziger Platz! Kakerlaken und mangelnde Sauberkeit!!! Tiefkühlkost mit Mononatriumglutamat als Geschmacksverstärker. Viel Rücksichtslosigkeit und fehlender Respekt gegenüber Kunden!!!

Es liegt direkt neben der Bushaltestelle etwas außerhalb des Waldes, ein guter Ort zum Warten, wenn man den Bus verpasst.

Wir waren nur im Restaurant. Dort spricht man Rumänisch und Deutsch. Ein einfaches Restaurant mit leckerem Essen, aber mein Schweinesteak war innen roh. Und als es bestellt wurde, fragte mich niemand, wie ich es gerne hätte. Die Würstchen und die Fleischbällchen waren gut, aber nicht ganz nach unserem Geschmack. Das hängt aber vom Rezept und der Region ab. Der erste Gang war perfekt, es gab verschiedene Suppen, wir hatten drei verschiedene. Und das Dessert war sehr gut.

Toller Service und sehr leckeres Essen. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Das Essen ist mehr als seinen Preis wert. Mein Schnitzel Wiener Art war groß, sehr lecker und vorbildlich zubereitet, dünn und mit einer perfekten Panierung. Ebenso die Pommes Auch die Käsespätzle waren sehr lecker. Dazu war das Personal sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Den Hotelbereich nutzte ich nicht.

Sehr gutes und Leckeres Essen authentisch wie in Rumänien und Siebenbürgen, am Sonntag gibt es nur Buffet für 33 Euro und Suppen von der Karte.

Im Restaurant stinkts nach Klostein oder ähnlichen Reinigungsmitteln. Die Preise mit 9,90€ für eine "große" Rindersuppe sind üppig. Auf der Karte im Internet steht 7,90€. So richtig wollte der Kellner mir den Bon nicht zeigen. Suppe hat aber ganz passabel geschmeckt.

Hatten einen Platz zum Mittagessen reserviert, wobei uns leider nicht gesagt wurde das nur Buffet sonntags ist (33 Euro). Speisen beim Buffet war leider nicht das was wir uns vorgestellt hatten und bei moderatem Hunger zu teuer. Kellner war zudem dann leider extrem unfreundlich und unbedacht. Ambiente war auch nicht gut. Kann ich also nicht empfehlen, besser ist der Falkenstein auf dem Feldberg oder Gasthaus Herzberg auf dem Herzberg. Die sind top!

Essen: Das Fleisch war nicht gut und billig

Wir haben gestern und vor einigen Monaten versucht dort Kaffee und Kuchen zu essen, nach einem Spaziergang und beides Mal war der Service so interessiert bzw. vermutlich der Chef so unfreundlich, dass wir wieder raus gegangen sind. Zweimal versucht, nun nie wieder...so schade, dass es in der Gegend so eine Gastwirtschaft gibt.

Das Essen war okay aber leider bisschen trocken. Neben Senf hätte ich mir zu den Cevapcici eigentlich auch sowas wie Ajvar gewünscht, wie es eigentlich üblich ist. Und zu dem Pommes noch Ketchup oder Majo. Bei vielen Gerichten ist außerdem kein Beilagensalat dabei, was das Essen nochmal deutlich aufwerten würde. Positiv hervorzuheben ist der Service. Obwohl es sehr voll war, mussten wir nicht lange warten

Ein Familienausflug führte uns zum Kaffee- und Kuchen-Stopp zum Hotel Restaurant Cafe Sandplacken unterhalb des großen Feldberg im Taunus. Da wir nicht übernachtet haben, bezieht sich diese Bewertung ausschließlich auf das Restaurant. Das Lokal war prall voll, trotzdem wurden wir freundlich begrüßt und zu einem gerade frei gewordenen Tisch begleitet. Es hat etwas gedauert, bis wir unsere Bestellung aufgeben konnten, was aber angesichts des vollen Lokals durchaus nachvollziehbar war. Der Kuchen schmeckt sehr gut, fast wie von Oma. Das Personal war die ganze Zeit über sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Einzig das Gebäude selbst könnte eine Renovierung gebrauchen. Davon abgesehen ist das Café aber eine Empfehlung wert.

Im essen war ein Haar zu sehen . Das Essen war trocken . Wir hatten eine Cola bestellt und es kam Fanta an. Das Restaurant würde ich nicht entfehlen.

Super Zielort für eine kleine Wanderung am Feldberg.

I had a truly wonderful experience at Restaurant Sandplacken. It was a culinary journey through Romania that was simply delicious. And the hospitality was second to none; even more so when my car wouldn't start in the parking lot, the owner helped me within minutes. Thank you so much for everything! I'll definitely be back!

A small Transylvanian enclave nestled in the Taunus Mountains. Hospitality is truly lived here. It's like a mini-vacation. The food is hearty and delicious. The sauerkraut rolls are always my favorite. Their own pastry shop makes amazing desserts... and the Dobos toffee is simply divine. Most of the guests are Romanian, so you feel like you're in another country, which adds to the holiday atmosphere. If you have friends from Eastern Europe, invite them here for a meal. Ours said it was the first truly good restaurant they'd ever visited in Germany. We've made many wonderful memories and left everyday life behind every time. Thank you for that.

This food is simply authentic and delicious. The very friendly service does everything to make you feel comfortable. The dishes and local beers are fresh and tasty. The cake counter leaves nothing to be desired.

I recently went to this restaurant. The food was very good, varied, delicious, a small Romanian place in the heart of Germany. The atmosphere was cozy, I felt like at home. I met friendly waiters, with a smile on their faces, ready to help us at any time. It is a perfect place for small or large gatherings, or just to spend a relaxing and pleasant afternoon. The owner was very open, kind and attentive. The food is very well prepared; if you are craving something Romanian, and not only, you will 100% find what you want here. The desserts are a delight. The Sandplacken restaurant is a 10/10. I recommend it with all my heart!

I can't comment on the rooms, since we only ate there. The service was very friendly and attentive. The food was delicious. You can sit outside.

Unfortunately, our visit to the restaurant and hotel was disappointing overall. Upon entering, we would have preferred a friendlier welcome – it was barely busy, and yet we still had to wait a long time for someone to attend to us. The overall ambiance seemed dated and unkempt: dirty windows, worn furniture, and an unpleasant odor left a less than inviting impression. The behavior of one of the employees was particularly irritating, as we found it inappropriate and intrusive. This could be particularly unpleasant for female guests – we felt a complete lack of professionalism. At times, it felt more like a dubious establishment than a reputable hotel. We therefore advise you to think carefully about whether you want to visit this place – especially if accompanied.

A fantastic restaurant with unique, authentic Romanian grilled dishes! Nothing is left to be desired! From lamb to cevapcici, steaks, and fresh trout, all grilled over charcoal—it doesn't get any better than this! Enjoy a delicious beer or homemade lemonade, and sit comfortably outside in the rustic wooden hut! The price of €33 per person for two buffets (one set up outside and one inside) is definitely worth it! The staff is super friendly and helpful! The only thing is that the entrance is at the back, so perhaps they could provide better signage 😉

The worst choice in recent times. We arrived at the restaurant and although we had a reservation, no one took us into account. We waited 30 minutes for the drinks to be brought to us, which were knocked on the corner of the table, without being poured into the glass. I asked for a belly soup that comes in a bowl. We also had to ask for the necessary things, cream, olive oil, which took another 10 minutes. Then the olive tree was taken from us on the grounds that they have too few and they need another table. I asked for small grilled ones, which "usually aren't grilled". I received small ones in the pan. Very bad service. Maximum disappointment. I do not recommend.

Restaurant “Sandplacken” Unfortunately, our visit to the “Sandplacken” restaurant was anything but positive. The first impression was not very inviting: the entrance is not clearly visible, so we had to stand around and get our bearings. Even though there were only three tables occupied, we were ignored for quite a while until someone finally noticed us. The food was also mixed. While some dishes were fine, there were clear flaws: a rump steak that was supposed to be medium rare was served completely cooked through. However, the worst moment came when paying. As soon as you entered the restaurant, you could see “cash only” notes on the doors. One of our companions paid with a 20 euro note and four euros in 20 cent pieces. The waitress accepted the money, visibly annoyed, but then the landlord came and completely freaked out. He complained loudly that paying with loose change was “insulting.” The situation escalated to the point where he was yelling at us and being extremely disrespectful towards us. We were stunned. Such unfriendly treatment of guests is unacceptable in the catering industry. If you value a pleasant restaurant visit, you should avoid this restaurant. Unfortunately we cannot recommend it.

My girlfriend and I ate at this wonderful, authentic Romanian restaurant. The food was delicious, the portions were generous, and the value for money was excellent! The service was also excellent; the staff and owner are very attentive and friendly. We will definitely be back again. For dessert, we highly recommend the Romanian specialty "Papanași." The restaurant is surrounded by trees and forests. The surrounding area is also perfect for a walk in the countryside!

I know Romanian cuisine well. Unfortunately, this restaurant doesn't come close to meeting the criteria that make up good Romanian cuisine. The meat platter (round trip for two people) was inedible. The meat was almost cold for the long waiting time (approx. 25 minutes). The reception and ambience left a lot to be desired: poor telephone accessibility, an entrance area that you have to find, waiters who don't greet the guests, dirty windows, outdated furniture, etc. I was told on the phone that EC payment was possible. When we then wanted to pay, the “boss” became rude. Card payment wouldn't work..."In the middle of Germany there is bad internet...". He's right, but his guests can't help it if they're told otherwise on the phone. The end of the torture: card payment worked after all. Nothing like getting out of the worst restaurant we have ever been to.

Ready-made sauces, old vegetables in salads and dirty chairs. Has absolutely nothing to do with a restaurant. Sorry, but it couldn't be worse.

We've been there for dinner several times now. Delicious food with more than sufficient portions and very good value for money, nice atmosphere and very nice service. Dogs are also welcome and get an extra portion of treats. We'll definitely come back more often.

Restaurant is not just for having a meal, it is more matter of experience. We had wonderful experience and time, There was a guy who’s called Rezvan. His nice and respectful behaviour made our evening. Definitely will back not just one more time but as much as time let us.

I'm a motorcyclist and the Feldberg is my local mountain and I've driven past it hundreds of times. Today I noticed an intense smell of grilling and stopped there. Wow, grill buffet and also a menu that makes your mouth water, the prices unfortunately make you sweat on your forehead😄 I was only moderately hungry and decided on stuffed peppers, which you rarely get in a restaurant. What can I say, as if grandma had risen to cook this for me ☺️ I'm thrilled, it's a warm hut outside and very pleasant in the house too. Everyone is super nice. I come more often now. ✌️

I really enjoy coming here. As part of a bike tour to Feldberg or with friends. The food is hearty and delicious. Recommended: The grill buffet on Sunday. However, you will not receive a confirmation when you make a reservation. So you don't even know whether text messages or emails have even been read. Nobody answers the phone anyway. Tried it several times. Finally, very unprofessional in billing. Without asking, total bill issued for 6 people. But we wanted to pay separately. This meant that the service was completely overwhelmed. Overall: Delicious food, good location, but unfortunately mediocre service. This is probably also due to the lack of staff, which was given to us as an excuse. Little bonus: schnapps at the end is on the house. Thanks.

Great service. Enjoyed the upbeat Romanian music. Food was delicious. You can find traditional German items, but also Romanian. Large selection menu! Some menu items allow for a 'small portion' order.

We went on Saturday at lunch time without a reservation, we were received with warmth and understanding, even though the restaurant was full with two big festivities being celebrated that day. The food was very good, starting with the appetizer. The portions are very large and pleasantly prepared and the food was served hot. In the menu I found a vast amount of typical Romanian dishes, prepared in the traditional way, I was very pleasantly surprised. The waiters were all very kind, present even if the restaurant was full. The dishes have the true Romanian taste, just like at grandma's house. For us, the papanas were super good! We will definitely be back to try them again. We will return with great pleasure to try other dishes from the menu. 😋

Very tasty dishes, especially a large selection of Romanian dishes. The portions were large and attractively prepared. Unfortunately, the mixed salad wasn't brought with my main course and the service would be happy to come by more often. But all in all, I would like to come here again. I can definitely recommend a visit, but you should plan some time.

Unfortunately, the waitress was rude, especially when it came to payment (she didn't ask us if we wanted to pay with her card separately, etc...) she simply brought us the payment without asking us anything. The belly soup was reheated and little, very strong papanasi and smelled of spoiled cheese. It has nothing to do with Romanian food.

We were disrespected and after we asked if there were still seats available we were turned away because everything was full and reserved. We asked when the tables would be reserved and were told from 5 p.m. (we had 2:30 p.m.). We just wanted to eat coffee and cake. The waiter still told us that there was no space available, which we didn't fully understand. We then told him we were leaving and would never come back. The waiter's answer was get out (I can't reproduce the O sound). The. As a guest, being insulted by staff is an absolute no go! The only recommendation I can make for this place is that you shouldn't go there!

The restaurant at Sandplacken is now firmly in Romanian hands. And still worth a visit. The typical cuisine is rather hearty, similar to Polish. Enjoyment of meat is very important. There is a barbecue on Sundays. I was lucky enough to experience the Easter lamb special menu. Even the lamb soup became a revelation. The journey to the Taunus was worth it just for the great lamb pie made from liver, kidney, heart etc. The serving staff is very attentive. And the plum schnapps at the end rounds everything off nicely
