Kurhaus-Stuben & Kurhaus-Keller in Schmitten im Taunus

An "oh" under every roof. Divided into room, location, and service, we only got ****. The following: We were only able to book a package at very short notice for personal reasons and found what we were looking for here. The phone call was very friendly, and the booking confirmation was detailed and arrived very quickly. We decided on a room facing the garden. The reception was also very nice and friendly. The room was clean, with separate toilet and bathroom, and the bathroom had a tub instead of a shower. On the first night, however, around 3:00 a.m., the radio alarm clock suddenly buzzed... Very, very loudly; turning it off wasn't easy. On top of that, there was only one switch for a bedside table light, but it also turned on the light in the entrance area. Why? Good question. Why did the alarm clock go off? Also a good question. We managed to turn off the alarm clock and left it alone. As for the light? Well, it was only four nights. We always had a flashlight with us in case of an emergency and on the side of the bed without a switch. In the bathroom, the fan hummed very loudly when we turned on the light, and instead of looking out into the garden, we only saw a large roof area... We mentioned the alarm clock and the light issue and would have been given a different room. But we only had three nights left, and we didn't want to move right away. Hence the ***. The location: The building is directly on a main road. Fortunately, the room didn't face the street, but rather faced the back. Hence the ****. The package included, among other things, a breakfast buffet, three three-course menus with a choice of dishes, and one four-course candlelit menu with a choice of dishes. There was nothing to complain about with the food. Anyone who didn't find anything to their liking at breakfast probably has too much at home – or nothing at all – and is simply dissatisfied. The evening meals were very good and very filling. Definitely *****. The entire staff was very friendly, efficient, and always had a smile on their faces. In addition, the manager himself was always smiling, friendly, and quick to help. We were personally informed of this. However, it should also be mentioned that the house is definitely showing its age and needs a general renovation (e.g., the sauna area). In summary, ****

Too expensive for a 4-star hotel, not a 4-star hotel anymore. The pool water was strangely cloudy. Some of the sausage at the breakfast buffet was not up to scratch. Cleanliness leaves much to be desired. The hotel's appearance: It's just showing its age. The online advertising for this hotel is, in my opinion, too good.

A wonderful stay that exceeded our expectations! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Although the interior is a bit dated in places, this only adds to the charm and cozy atmosphere. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the service was excellent – ​​friendly and helpful. Free parking was also provided. A special compliment goes to the kitchen: the food was varied, plentiful, and of high quality. Everything was perfectly prepared – our compliments to the chefs! The surrounding area is also beautiful, with plenty of opportunities for fun excursions or simply enjoying nature. In short: this hotel is highly recommended!

The best choice for this area! The Breakfast is very various and delicious, good coffee and pastries. The Dinner is amazing, one of the best German kitchen. The rooms are very clean, all the conditions you need, and they have also a nice pool and sauna. I recommend this place.

I wouldn't visit this hotel again. The building itself is quite dated. I had a fairly small room with a narrow bed and a small bathroom. Unfortunately, the skylight was directly above the main entrance. The windows aren't soundproof, and since two motorcycle groups were expected that evening, it was quite loud. The room was generally very noisy, and the noise from the restaurant could be heard until late at night. Unfortunately, the curtains weren't blackout either; by 6 a.m., it was bright as day in the room. Combined with the church bells and the other guests, these were two very short nights. Some of the tiles in the bathroom need replacing. I would definitely like to highlight the friendly staff and the excellent food in the restaurant.

We stayed for five nights with a very nice, accommodating hotelier. The very friendly, attentive staff made our stay perfect. We had half board, and the breakfast and dinner were delicious and varied. The pool was great. The hotel had its own positive charm. It is located in the beautiful Taunus region at the foot of the Feldberg mountain, which you usually only catch a glimpse of from the motorway when driving past Frankfurt. We highly recommend spending a holiday there.

I wouldn't go back to this hotel. It's incomparable to the Ringhotels I've visited in terms of amenities, dinner, and especially the breakfast buffet. The hotel itself is showing its age, and the pool looks bare and uninviting. It was also barely busy when we were there. We only met two other couples at dinner during our girlfriends' weekend! A positive mention was the two very friendly ladies serving.

I was a seminar & day guest here. The food was very good (improvement with more seasoning would be desirable). The seminar room was great and the service ladies were excellent, each one of them was such a wonderful and lovely person. The hotelier was a very friendly person who often greeted us in the morning. I would come back here anytime.❤️ ... Room 20 would be my favorite room at any time ❤️.

All in all, I can only say that the Kurhaus Ochs with swimming pool is definitely worth a visit, because here you can really switch off and eat very tasty food.

This hotel was chosen as the location as part of a motorcycle weekend with biker friends. A good choice as it turned out. When the group arrived, the owner greeted us personally in the parking lot and gave everyone a beer as a welcome greeting to the house - respect - that's how you greet Harley-Davidson drivers!!! Some of the rooms are a bit small and outdated, but they are clean!! The cold and warm buffet in the evening on both evenings left nothing to be desired. It was varied, tasteful with plenty of choice (4 warm main courses to choose from!), there was something for every palate. It was always freshly refilled when a meal came to an end. Particularly noteworthy is the Sunday cake offering in the café next door. All cakes were baked by the owner himself, best quality and plenty of choice! The breakfast buffet followed seamlessly on the quality of the evening buffets. Fresh egg dishes, plenty of choice for everything your breakfast heart desires. We used the wellness area with swimming pool and sauna a lot, and our wishes to use the sauna outside opening hours were also heard and implemented. Bathrobes were available at reception for a fee, and there were plenty of sauna towels available in the sauna area. Our social evenings in the bar were, as always, great: Thanks to the hard-working staff behind the counter: An all-round successful weekend, thanks to the team and their management.

The house is getting old, you can tell its age a bit, but the rooms are in a pleasant condition, cleanliness is great, beds are comfortable. Some of the rooms are really nice despite their size. The sauna and swimming pool are really fine, it's not a spa wellness hotel but it's really sufficient for its capacity. Service was super nice and always polite and accommodating. Whether breakfast, lunch or evening in the restaurant.. The people there do everything right.. the restaurant is old but has a strong charm, you can feel the old times. Kitchen does a decent job.. you can't complain about the food.. if you go hiking in the Taunus you can't go wrong here, prices are acceptable.. I'll be happy to come back.. WiFi is good in every room.

Very friendly hotel in the center of Schmitten in Hochtaunus. Very friendly service, great breakfast. There is a sauna in the evening. Great hiking opportunities during the day. You can get there easily even without a car. Bus 50 stops in front of the door and runs every 1 - 2 hours to Oberursek-Hohemark (subway), Bad Homburg and Weiltal. Bus line 60 goes to Königstein.

As a company, we have been coming to Mr. Ochs and his top service staff for strategy days for many years, all of whom have been there for a long time and create a feeling of home when they enter the house. You know our company and employees by name, we give each person the same room as if by magic. The food and drink is even tailored to our tastes. The house and the rooms are traditionally furnished like a country inn. The food is above average. During the breaks you can go hiking and do team building. Schmitten is secluded and yet easily accessible. Our brainstorming for the new strategy comes about in this homeland as if by itself with the best team!

I was here with colleagues for the second time at an outdoor conference. We like it here because we can work well in a quiet environment. The employees at the Kurhaus Ochs are all very friendly and attentive and make our stay very pleasant. The rooms are not furnished in a modern way, but they are definitely clean and overall represent a solid standard. The whole thing is complemented by good cuisine. In my opinion, it is particularly suitable for groups of up to 10 people. We will be back definitely.
