We stopped here for lunch on our mountain bike tour; super friendly people, delicious food, and good prices! My recommendation in Bad Bergzabern!

Stopped there last year on the way back from Weintor... and...! Hmmm... delicious food, friendly service, and reasonable prices. It's cozy outside too; what more could you want?! Highly recommended restaurant!

I was there just for dinner. From the lunch menu, I chose pollock with vegetables and spaghetti. It tasted good, but the portion was too small, and I wasn't satisfied. It's not about the fish, but rather the lack of spaghetti and vegetables. I don't think it's right to pay €14.90 for that. They charged €1.80 for a small glass of tap water. That's not good value for money. I spoke to the manager, but he disagrees.

What can we say? It was somehow strange. We're undecided between horrible and okay. We were here two years ago and it was great, which is why we wanted to enjoy it again. We got a nice table on the terrace without a reservation. Everything was great! With anticipation, we chose our wine, a Greek rosé, and our dishes, lamb chop and grilled octopus, from the attractive menu. 1. Disappointment The wine arrived, the waitress kindly said the wine was at room temperature, would you like ice cubes? A glance at the bottle showed that it had already been opened. Why didn't they inform us beforehand and ask if we still wanted it? 2. Disappointment The lamb chop wasn't a chop, but rather from the neck area and unfortunately completely grilled, the salad was wilted with pre-made sauce, and the fried potatoes were so-so. Nevertheless, the taste was good overall. The octopus was a grilled-to-dead arm, a few slices of zucchini, carelessly presented. But overall, the taste was okay. When clearing up, the obligatory question: Did everything taste good? Answer: It was okay. Reaction: Great, thank you. Despite the friendly service, we won't consider a third visit. What a shame for Bergzabern.

This review is only for the restaurant: The service was very friendly and the food arrived quickly. The food is average at best, and the portions aren't particularly generous for the price. There are definitely better places for Greek food in the area.

Die Bewertung ist fürs Restaurant, es gibt keine Hotelzimmer mehr! Die Lage ist sehr zentral! Man kann auch sehr schön draußen sitzen. Die Preise sind etwas hoch! Der Service ist ausgezeichnet, sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Das Essen war eher pfälzisch als griechisch, aber geschmeckt hats trotzdem! Es gibt auch Getränke von regionalen Anbietern. On this Sunday afternoon, I'm sitting on the beautiful terrace of Restaurant Rössel, overlooking Ludwigplatz. The service is fast, attentive, and transparently informs us that the kitchen will be closing soon. The well-written menu of this self-proclaimed "Palatinate Greek" restaurant offers mainly Greek cuisine, with main courses ranging from 16 to 28 euros. I opt for "Gyros with Calamari (pure, hearty pork neck, finely seasoned according to our house recipe and fragrantly grilled with the original Greek twist, of course with steakhouse fries and salad on the side, with calamari (cut fresh squid tubes), floured and fried in a wok, and of course our super delicious tzatziki with plenty of garlic, which is a must!)" The meat of this Greek surf and turf version is tender and well-seasoned; with more roasted flavors, it would be perfect. The calamari is also tender. The side salad is fresh, and the tzatziki is rather lightly seasoned. It goes well with a local Streuner apple spritzer. An diesem Sonntagmittag sitze ich auf der schönen Terrasse des Rössel mit Blick auf den Ludwigplatz. Der Service ist schnell, aufmerksam und weist transparent auf die baldige Schließung der Küche hin. Die gut getextete Karte des selbsterklärten "Pfälzer Griechen" bietet hauptsächlich griechische Küche, Hauptgerichte liegen zwischen 16 und 28 Euro. Ich entscheide mich für "Gyros mit Calamares (reines, herzhaftes Fleisch vom Schweinenacken, fein gewürzt nach unserem Hausrezept und duftend vom Original griechischen Drehspiels gegrillt, natürlich mit Steakhouse Pommes u. Salat als Beilage, mit Calamari (Zugeschnittene frische Tintenfischtuben), mehliert und in der WOk-Pfanne ausgebacken, dazu natürlich unser super leckeres Tzatziki mit reichlich Knoblauch, was nicht fehlen darf !)" Das Fleisch der griechischen Surf and Turf-Variante ist zart und gut gewürzt, mit mehr Röstaromen wäre es perfekt. Auch die Calamares sind zart. Der Beilagensalat ist frisch, das Tzatziki eher zurückhaltend gewürzt. Dazu schmeckt eine lokale Streuner Apfelschorle. While delivering the drinks, the waiter noticed that the table was wobbly, which he fixed immediately and without prompting. The food is delicious, the portions are plentiful, and there was nothing to complain about.

If you're looking for the perfect combination of bad food and unfriendly, arrogant service, this is the place. Breaded meat instead of meat. Everything tastes disappointing. And the salad is just right. You can get it here. I (used to be professional) go to restaurants often. The Rössel in Bad Bergzabern was definitely one of the worst. Never again. Sorry.

I'm only reviewing the restaurant here. I didn't stay at the hotel. The restaurant is very well located in the city center, on a very large square. The outdoor beer garden is inviting. The staff is very nice, courteous, and friendly. They always ask if everything is okay or if you need anything. Drinks are quickly ordered and brought promptly. Our meat was very tasty and tender😋 The appetizers were really delicious and well-seasoned. We really enjoyed it here, and it certainly won't be the last time we're here 😌

First of all, the service is good and very attentive. The food is more or less mediocre, lacking a certain flair; there's still a lot of room for improvement in terms of taste; it lacks the typical Greek style. On the Olympia plate, there was hardly any discernible difference in flavor between the meats. The potatoes were completely unseasoned, and there wasn't a hint of Greece in the side salad. The portion and the preparation bear no relation to the rather high price. I'm aware that everything has become more expensive, but the quality and preparation still have to be right. Fortunately, everyone has their own taste; unfortunately, the kitchen didn't impress me at all. I find the decor, which is somewhere between old German and pseudo-Greek style, as well as the collection of magnum bottles as decoration, extremely unimaginative, but everyone should form their own opinion.

May 16, 2025. The food at Rössel was excellent. A wide selection of dishes, from the Palatinate region to Greece. Drinks were also from regional suppliers, except for the wines. The service was very pleasant and prompt. Even though it doesn't appear on Google, it's absolutely gay-friendly. We felt at home.

An absolute must for anyone passing through Bad Bergzabern, otherwise just come here specifically. It's definitely worth it! Top food, meat to the point, delicious dishes, staff super nice and friendly. We had souvlaki skewer with particularly delicious tzatziki and grilled chicken with basil cheese sauce on pasta. Bombastic! Dogs are also particularly welcome. Gladly again!

The service is very friendly and accommodating. The food was rather bad. There was a fresh salad as a side dish. That was one of the best things about the meal. My schnitzel and my wife's food were carelessly prepared (no lettuce leaf and/or cherry tomato to look at) and the sauce was too salty. Presumably it was because the sauce was already heavily reduced because it had cooked for too long. My wife had the skewers which tasted slightly better. The best part was the schnapps you got at the end. But it was also necessary after this meal. The price-performance ratio was not okay and could be improved. Overall, far too expensive for the quality. We liked it better at some chip shops than here.

Mediocre, therefore not recommended. Wrong food brought, lamb knuckle, cold, inflexible because ouzo changed into expresso. Not possible, no demand as to how the food tasted, the price-performance ratio was exaggeratedly high at around five euros.

We were rudely expelled from the restaurant at 9 p.m. because the kitchen was closed. It was only afterwards that we saw on the website that warm food was offered until 9 p.m. Unfortunately, we didn't know this beforehand and the tone was not very inviting. In addition, an employee at the door greeted this with a smile, which reinforced the negative impression. We didn't feel welcome. Not worth a star!

The Rössel restaurant is a good Greek restaurant. The service is good, the staff is friendly and the selection is also very good. The food is always more than solid - I eat here every now and then. 🐙

I have no idea why Google provides the form fields for hotels here when it's about the Greek restaurant. Doesn't matter. Anyone who stalks me here knows that I love Greek food and like to go hard on things. This meal here was definitely worth the 4 stars for a “good”. Everything was delicious and appetizing and it's only due to the fact that I know even better Greeks and have to somehow bring in a fair gradation that it's "only" 4 stars. Servise very friendly and accommodating. Ambience pleasantly cozy.

Attention health hazard! I was there once 5-6 years ago and once shortly before Corona. The first time was good until I got home. My mother and I ate backwards on the toilet for several hours. I never wanted to go there again. The second time I was invited. I thought I'd give the restaurant another chance. The food tasted and looked good. Unfortunately, I was allowed to inaugurate my new bathroom and toilet bowl afterwards. I suspect it's the old oil, I can't say for sure. In any case, I give this restaurant a wide berth.

The food was OK. Rather manageable plates for a Greek restaurant. We found the service to be below average. When we asked if we could get a candle for the lantern on the table, we were told no. There would be no candles. Another question: could we get a bowl of water for the dog? Answer: There are bowls outside in the hallway. Can you get it... Should we fill the bowl ourselves at the counter or in the toilet???

I called at the end of August for October 2nd. Reserved a table for 9 people. When we arrived on October 2nd. When we arrived happily on site, we found ourselves standing in front of a locked door!!! The 2.10. a Wednesday is a day of rest!!! When I complained over the phone, it was assumed that I was lying. The boss himself was firmly convinced that no one from his team would offer me a table on a rest day! Wonder how unprofessional you can be and not even apologize for the inconvenience. Mishaps can happen to anyone, but accusing the customer of lying is bold and cheeky! We certainly won't want to eat here again in the future!!! Luckily the 375 euros for food and drinks were welcome in another restaurant!!!

The restaurant is located on the currently busy street. (A bypass around the town is probably currently being built) The service is very friendly, always with a smile and very attentive. A wobbling direct table was noticed and corrected. The choice of food is varied, including for vegetarians. The courses were served very quickly and tasted very tasty. We enjoyed it very much and can only recommend the restaurant. And we have little sympathy for those who visit a restaurant with a foreign cuisine concept and a corresponding focus on the food to order schnitzel with fries and then complain.

Both the pulpo, which I had as a starter, and the lamb shank were perfectly cooked and extremely tasty. You could feel that people cook with passion here, and the side dishes were also tasty and nicely seasoned. Highly recommended!

We spontaneously went there for dinner today. The beer garden is nice, even if it is right on a busy street. We had grilled pepperoni, with box white bread that wasn't even toasted. The main course could have been spicier. All in all, the restaurant thrives on its good location. For the same money you can get much more elsewhere. Once it was ok, there is no danger of repeating it.

We ate there while passing through from our vacation and were quite disappointed. After ordering, we waited 45 minutes for the food. Grilled lamb skewer was tasty, but there were 5 small pieces of meat and one and a lot of onion pieces on the skewer for 25 euros. Unfortunately the price-performance ratio isn't right. We wouldn't eat there again. Not necessarily recommended.

The food was beautifully served and tasted very tasty. Every now and then we were asked whether we wanted anything else or whether everything was okay. Everything was great until the waitress panicked that it was about to rain and we should sit under the umbrella. Okay, so we did that. We had previously ordered the dessert menu. When we were all seated again and we only had time to look at the map again, the waitress came to ask us whether we had already decided and at the same time she made it clear to us that we only had half an hour left... .. Then we really lost the desire for a nice dessert and maybe a coffee. Really a shame! Strangely, when we waited for the bill, warm food was still served.

I also give 5 stars to this exotic restaurant. We weren't hotel guests, but stopped in at lunchtime as part of a bike tour. The mix between Palatinate and Greek is super funny and can be found in the rich and even entertaining menu. Prices are a little higher, but average eaters can still find some affordable, tasty things. Quality of the food is also impressive and quite fresh. Small example: The side salad does NOT have the cheap iceberg lettuce in it, but rather other things like pepperoni, beetroot and lots of rocket. The service people (including the boss himself) are also very nice, but not intrusive. Whenever we are here again, this will be our first address.

Food had to be returned because the pork was still raw inside, but tasted okay. Child-unfriendly menu - no dishes for children (a small portion is discounted by 1.50 euros), if a portion is shared it costs an additional 5 euros.

So sorry, this is a pure rip off 😡 The food was far too expensive for the quality and this time on Mother's Day we arrived and asked politely if there was still room for 4 people. We were then asked if we had reserved and the blast 🧨 answer was when we said no “we don’t need that” That's incredibly arrogant 😡😡😡 You will never earn more from us and hopefully 🙏🏾 many people will read this and stop visiting you for your arrogance. No Greek hospitality at all 😡
