Our absolute favorite Greek restaurant for over 20 years. The food is always perfect and we've never had a single complaint. Plus, the service is incredibly friendly, attentive, and welcoming.

Family-run business. I'm very satisfied with the food there, but I have to accept the annual price increases.

Apparently, the markup on the dishes is spent on buying reviews on Google Maps. We booked a table in advance because one of the guests was celebrating a birthday. When we arrived, we were told there were a lot of other guests and we had to sit at a small table, which resulted in us rubbing elbows the entire dinner. Later, this genius even came up to us in the middle of the evening and asked, "See?! We actually fit!" The food was dry, expensive, and just average. It's better to go elsewhere; Heusenstamm has plenty of better and cheaper options.

If I could give 6 stars, I would. Perfect for 30 years!

Upon entering the restaurant, an older gentleman greeted us with a lighthearted remark. A young woman showed us to our reserved table. The benches are quite close together, so it might be a bit cramped for those with a larger build. Drinks and food were ordered quickly and arrived relatively soon. All of our dishes were delicious, and the portions were generously sized. The waitresses were attentive and discreetly checked in on us from time to time. All the waitresses were very friendly. We felt the price-performance ratio was acceptable. The fact that there was no ouzo after payment (as already mentioned in other reviews) was a minor inconvenience. We would definitely consider returning.

As part of a small Christmas celebration, we had dinner here with some colleagues. The restaurant is quaint and cozy, and the service was phenomenally friendly and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious and plentiful. The oven-baked gyros was a great choice for me. Parking is available along the street; the restaurant is located in a residential area. At the time of our visit, there were plenty of free parking spaces.

We had the calamari and the baby calamari; both were delicious and the portions were generous. The price-performance ratio is excellent. The one-star deduction is solely due to the service. While the food arrived quickly, the menu was simply slapped down on the table and the server disappeared immediately, not even smiling once in two hours... Nevertheless, we would recommend the restaurant because everything else was great.

It would be a very nice restaurant. Fast service, fresh food, and a very friendly staff. I read that the food is expensive, but I think it's cheaper than the restaurants in Frankfurt.

When I read the prices being asked here, my appetite disappears. €20 for a simple gyro and €7.50 for a large bottle of water is pretty outrageous. Such water, even if it's branded, costs a maximum of €1 per bottle. Of course, the costs have to be covered, but let's keep things in perspective.

Very good price/performance ratio

Plan for a bit of a wait, as tables are reserved quite frequently. We had to wait 20 minutes until our table was free. However, the service was excellent. The food came out super fast and was really good.

The food was tasty, but the portions were very modest. We probably wouldn't have been full without the appetizer, and the fries weren't crispy and were very pale. The service was very inattentive, bordering on ignorant. Every single beer was filled just 1 cm below the gauge line; there seems to be some method to it. The first Greek restaurant I can remember that doesn't serve a single ouzo. Once and never again!

It is and will remain my favorite Greek restaurant! I love coming here again and again – especially for the Mykonos plate, which is always delicious. So far, everything's good, except for the water prices. A 0.75-liter bottle costs €7.50. In this summer heat, when you're supposed to drink a lot, that's outrageous.

I thought that was a shame, because I would have loved to try some meat. My partner ordered the medallions with a sauce, which he described as absolutely delicious and unusual. It came with a small portion of rice with red sauce – the flavors were perfectly balanced. I opted for grilled baby calamari, also with a small portion of rice with sauce and a side salad. My plate also included some tzatziki, which would have gone well with it – but I really would have preferred a piece of fresh pita bread to go with it. Instead, I was served bread that felt more like a wet sponge – truly disappointing. Especially in a Greek restaurant, you would have expected fresh pita. However, the service deserves special mention: The staff was very attentive and came to the table quickly, even for drink orders like Coca-Cola, etc. Overall: Good food, attentive service, but please more variety in the meat dishes and more attention to bread – that makes a big difference in Greek food.

This was our second time there. The food was delicious (and plentiful, with the rest always coming in a doggy bag) and the prices were fair. The service was very attentive and quick. We've been looking for a good Greek restaurant for a long time and finally found it. A clear recommendation from the whole family!

Pure disappointment! Very high prices, small portions (few fries/rice/meat/fish), no bread, very dry gyro, no ouzo, asked for a small second helping of tzatziki and was charged the full amount. The only thing was that the staff was super nice and in a great mood, but I'm not looking to make new friends, I'm looking for good food. Given the great reviews, I expected much better quality and quantity of the food. I remembered the restaurant being much better. I can't recommend it and won't go there again.

2025/02 Only three stars and I'll finally get to why that is. I was looking for a new Greek and read the good reviews. So I went alone and asked for a table early in the evening. I was placed right at the front of the service and the “old man”. I got to see the beautiful guest room in the toilet hallway. The men's toilet was clean, by the way. It was interesting how the local guests were welcomed. I could also see into the kitchen through the hatch and everything looked clean. But the door opened and closed, the phone rang and there was a lot of communication. You couldn't have a quiet evening there. The village plate was prepared quickly and the service was quick. The freshly tapped beer was well chilled. The plate was delicious. The ice cream ball sized rice balls were a bit small. A big eater would have needed more. I honored the service with a 10% surcharge when paying by card. Unfortunately it stayed that way. It may be that I have the wrong impression, but I have visited around 40-50 Greek restaurants. Here it was like that, there was an ouzo after the meal, which I was looking forward to and I missed it. I also felt it was rude to ask about it, so I went and slept on it for a few nights for the 3 star rating.

I've been staying there with my family since I discovered Poseidon in 2003. We generally love Greek food and have visited a lot of restaurants. No other Greek restaurant in our area has been able to reach this level. A lot has changed everywhere since the Corona chaos, and here too there was a phase with negative influences, but that was quickly overcome. Now you have a feel-good factor that is second to none. Only Berlin politics, like everywhere else, are completely helpless. Either adapt or close it. If you want to maintain the level and develop, unfortunately the only way to do that is to increase prices. In view of the changed variety and quantity, there was also a subjective price increase of 40%. While other Greek restaurants have focused on increasing prices and the quality, service and ambience have gone down the drain, Poseidon makes the difference. I can only define it with joy... about the ambience, the reception, the food, the taste and the next visit. In other Greek restaurants that survived Corona, you could feel this typical “After Corona” atmosphere. After the "Naja ambience" came the "Naja service", the "Naja taste, the "Naja quality" and a potential chance of nausea, stomach cramps and diarrhea. And the only thing you feel is desire the call to food inspection and tax investigation.

Except for the tzatziki as a side dish, everything else was wonderful.

Ich kann hier leider nicht mehr als einen Stern geben. Die Preise für das Essen sind sehr hoch. Ich finde bei einem Preis von 18,90 Euro für Gyros mit Pommes und Salat sollte zumindest auch ein Klecks Tzaziki dabei sein. Ist hier aber leider nicht. Also noch dazubestellt, für 5 (!!!) Euro Aufpreis. Die Pommes waren sehr lecker, das Gyrosfleisch hat extrem nach Schwein geschmeckt und war recht trocken. Einzig die Bedienungen sind sehr nett, aber unser Pitabrot wurde vergessen und stand dann am Ende mit auf der Rechnung. Also wir werden hier so schnell nicht mehr essen gehen.

Have been there several times...everything was always great

Located in a somewhat inconspicuous location, the Greek restaurant is selling for almost less than its value. Anyone who doesn't let this deter them will be rewarded. Large selection, very friendly and attentive staff. Even 12 people had different food and drinks quickly and at the same time. Top and highly recommended.

The quality of the food here hasn't changed in 40 years. It's just good. The content of the menu is also very similar to that of the old days.

The chef's apple spritzer and the food were so well received by our fun travel group that we ate there for business two days in a row. The menu is not overcrowded and yet everyone can find something. Simple, tasty, good. The beer sizes still need to be discussed.

At lunchtime there were two of us. We weren't that hungry. We asked for a gyro with 2 plates. Reacted great. I've already experienced something else. Big portion. Super tasty, juicy gyros, world class fries. gladly again.
