The location is great, and the service was okay. It took quite a while before we could order. But the food was absolutely terrible. My ground beef was from the freezer. The Metaxa sauce was just the same old hollandaise sauce from a carton. None of our dishes tasted very good. We definitely won't be coming back. It's just way too expensive for what it is.

It's gone downhill significantly. Too many guests... The staff is overwhelmed. When you, as a near-regular customer, have to wonder every time you decide to eat there whether the food will be hot or cold... whether the meat is cooked through or rare... whether the rump steak is medium or well-done so you can't eat it anymore... whether they've forgotten about your order or not... That can't be right for the amount of money you spend there. They don't value their guests anymore... only the high turnover of customers. This is detrimental to the staff... the guests, and also to the quality of the food preparation. There's nothing to complain about regarding the quality of the ingredients themselves. And when this happens more than three times... and two things at once... are forgotten and one dish arrives cold... you seriously start to wonder whether you should even eat there anymore. When we go out to eat, it's a little break for us and something special. It's no fun when one person's food arrives cold while the other can already eat... otherwise, their food will get cold again before the other person's finally arrives hot. ...and that's for two people. A restaurant should be able to manage that... Food is something special for us, and we don't want to have that ruined almost every time. The owner should really rethink his business model.

We were there for the first time today. The food, the service, EVERYTHING was simply AMAZING!!!!! Such a SUPER nice and FRIENDLY service 👍👍👍👍👍. We'll definitely be back ☺️

We've been coming to Poseidon for years and we always love it here. The price-performance ratio is excellent, the service is always friendly and attentive, and if something isn't quite perfect, they take care of it immediately 😍... All in all, a top-notch place!

Unfortunately, I can't understand all the very good reviews. The food is delicious, the prices are quite reasonable, and the ambiance is also fitting for a Greek restaurant. However, the service is also a crucial point for me, and I have to say that the team failed us here. We arrived shortly after 5 p.m. without a reservation (two people). We were told we could only wait until 6:30/7 p.m., as everything would be full later. No problem. We ordered drinks and food straight away. Both arrived within 5 minutes. We hadn't even finished the starter when the salad for the main course arrived. Honestly, the main course arrived less than 3 minutes later. So we had the starter, salad, and main course on the table within 15 minutes. It felt like we were supposed to leave the restaurant quickly to vacate the table. The food was good, though. What was outrageous, however, was that they added two ouzo bottles to our bill. The waiter came through with ouzo on the house while we were in the middle of our meal, even though we had declined. After the meal, we told the waiter that we would each have one ouzo. When we finally got the bill, we were charged for two ouzos. We didn't make a fuss that evening, as the restaurant was very busy. The food was good, but since we felt unappreciated as guests, we definitely won't be back. What a shame!

Very good food, the portions are always plentiful, and the service is friendly but a bit forgetful, so we deducted one star for the service. We'll be back next time we're in the area.

The food was delicious. The ambiance in the basement was also unique. The service was attentive, but we had to wait a long time for everything and were rarely noticed. I must say, though, that it was also quite crowded.

Whenever we're craving Greek food, this is almost always our first choice. The atmosphere is incredibly cozy, the vaulted cellar is truly unique, and you can enjoy a lovely meal together for a few hours and spend quality time together. 💫💕 The restaurant also offers a late-night kitchen. 👏 The restaurant is within walking distance of the city center. The tzatziki and pepper sauce are particularly recommended. A fantastic Greek restaurant with authentic food, highly recommended.

We waited 30 minutes for drinks and an hour and a half for food. Then we were served tasteless, overcooked, and dry meat. There were seven of us, and everyone was dissatisfied. The head waiter tried to fix the situation, but the evening was ruined.

A true culinary experience! I received a warm welcome as soon as I entered the restaurant. The menu is varied and offers something for every taste. I ordered a three-course meal, and every course was an absolute delight. I was particularly impressed by the freshness of the ingredients and the creative presentation of the dishes. The service was always friendly, professional, and prompt. The hygiene in the restaurant was also impeccable. It was my first visit here, but definitely not the last. If you're looking for good food, great service, and a pleasant atmosphere, this is the place for you!

The restaurant has a cozy, typically Greek decor. The staff is very attentive and friendly. The menu is extensive. The meat quality is very good. You'd have to be lucky to find a parking space nearby, but after a meal like that, a short walk is good anyway :-)

Very good Greek restaurant We just barely managed to get a seat in the basement. The basement is very nice and well-designed, but also very stuffy. The noise level was okay, but it was a bit difficult to hold a conversation. The starter and main course were very tasty. The portion sizes were quite large.

The service was extremely unfriendly and refused a request to change the order, explaining that the chef would then have to prepare the menu item first, throw away part of it, and then prepare the "special request." The food was OK, and the price was OK.

The meat was raw, the service was very inattentive. You were simply overlooked. When the main course arrived, the salad plates weren't cleared away. The outdoor ambiance was nice, and the portion sizes were good. Everything was quite loud and hectic.

Unfortunately, it's becoming more and more mass-produced. The food is on the level of a Greek snack bar—it's okay, but nothing more. The comparatively reasonable prices and the friendliness of some of the servers are worth mentioning.

Six of us came here for dinner and were seated in the basement. The basement is a bit stuffy, but beautifully decorated. The waitress was incredibly friendly and greeted us with a smile. It must be said that it was very busy, and the staff were therefore very busy, but we had to wait 30 minutes for the appetizers to arrive. I had the garlic bread as a starter, and I'll be honest, I think €4.50 for five slices of baguette, which had more tomato sauce than garlic, is a bit much. 10 minutes later, the salads arrived, which were delicious. Then we had to wait another 30 minutes for our main course to be brought to the table. My dish, the Athenian plate, was very tasty and really filling. The problem was with the other dishes. One dish was burnt on one side. The waitress said that the other dish, "Mousakas," unfortunately needed to be served later because there had been a kitchen breakdown. When it finally arrived, it was warm on the outside but cold on the inside – which means it had been heated in the microwave... We complained about it, and the waitress apologized and had it heated properly. The other dishes were all fine and filling. The price was good, too.

We've actually enjoyed coming to Poseidon regularly for years... unfortunately, the service has become abysmal and unbearable for us. A few months ago, we sat at the one large table in the basement with two families. The meal took three hours, not because the kitchen was too slow, but because no one wanted to serve us or pay us. Everyone around us was served except the large table, which now bears the name "lost in space" for us. Today, we asked for the bill three times while a thunderstorm was brewing outside. Three times, the children were promised lollipops and we were promised the bill and ouzo. After 40 minutes, the bill finally arrived, when we were already soaked through, without lollipops and ouzo... Conclusion: The food is really amazing and delicious, but so is the food on the other side of the street! So, we're switching service...👋

The ambiance in the wine cellar was wonderful and romantic, and the service was attentive. All in all, I wouldn't give it more stars if I could.

Despite the restaurant being busy, we managed to get a seat without a reservation on a Friday evening. The seating area in the courtyard is particularly nice. The service was friendly and made an effort to serve the food promptly. Unfortunately, the octopus was over-grilled and therefore tough—a rather high price for €12.90. The rest of the food (fried vegetables, fish roe cream, and vine leaves) was very tasty, though the fries could have been a bit crispier.

We were visiting Landau in der Pfalz. We were looking forward to this restaurant. I can't understand the positive reviews, especially regarding the service. The service was poor, impatient, and simply irritating. The place wasn't full yet, but you still had the feeling the waiters weren't interested. Unfortunately, we had to wait more than an hour for our food. We also ordered frozen fish fingers with fries. The appetizer arrived 45 minutes after ordering. That's how you earn more money on drinks... At other tables, the food etc. arrived much faster. When we asked, we were simply "smiled at" and asked to be patient. The food was average. Nothing special. But it was well priced. There's nothing negative to say about the ambiance. Very nicely decorated and clean.

We visited the Poseidon in Landau with our team and had a mixed experience. The food was delicious and the drinks were decent. The price was fair considering the quality and quantity of the food. The restaurant has a spacious layout with an upper and lower area, as well as a beautiful garden that is very inviting. 😐 Unfortunately, our positive experience was marred by the service. We had reserved a table for our entire team, but were seated at two separate tables. When we asked the server why this was the case, we received a very rude and disrespectful response. This was very disappointing and soured our experience. Another negative point for us was the parking. You always have to pay for parking, which we find a shame. Overall, we would recommend the restaurant if they could improve the service. The food is definitely worth a visit, but the service needs to be urgently improved.

Wow! What a great restaurant. We were passing through and noticed the Poseidon restaurant thanks to the excellent reviews here on Google. We received a very friendly welcome and were even assigned a table in the beautiful vaulted cellar on Friday evening. The staff were incredibly friendly across the board. We were treated like royalty. I can't praise the food enough! Incredibly delicious, we felt very comfortable and would love to come back to Landau (we're from the Rhine-Neckar district). The restrooms are spotlessly clean – that's definitely worth mentioning. Because that's no longer a given in many restaurants these days. We received a very, very friendly farewell. You're happy to give a bigger tip after such a wonderful evening. A huge compliment to the staff and management! Many of you could learn a thing or two from them.

We were there with four adults and two children, and the food was excellent—hot and cold appetizers, sardines and gyros, and a children's menu. The food was very typically Greek, with great service and very reasonable prices. We highly recommend this restaurant.

Amazing food! We tried the Tomato Soup and it was outstanding! Be prepared to start your meal with an Ouzo shot (included). We followed it up with Olives which were incredibly flavorful. One order of Baked Calamari and rice, which was cooked to perfection. The wild rice lacked real flavor, but paired well with Calamari and the provided sauce. The winner though was the soup. Staff were incredibly friendly, and added to the experience of this great dinner.

You can eat well, but the conditions are sometimes unfriendly - we made reservations for two people at short notice by telephone. When we arrived, we were assigned a seat, I was already sitting, then another waiter came running over to tell us to sit somewhere else (in front of the toilet) even though there were several other seats available, which we also asked for . After turning his eyes around the cellar, he gave us the other place but said that we had to be ready by 10 p.m. because he would then need the space (yes, the kitchen closes at 10 p.m., so no other guests will have reserved a reservation - In addition, almost the entire restaurant was empty until 10 p.m., so there was enough room for other guests if they came that late without wanting to eat!!!!!

How can you find this quality in Landau? Just try it without worrying,,,, I go there regularly with my wife, it's getting better and better. A nice man comes to the entrance to pick you up, always on the best terms. With the best ingredients. Price is very cheap compared to quality. But don't forget to make a reservation in advance, without a reservation there is no chance.
