My wife and I ate at Piccolo Mondo today, and it was a culinary highlight for us. The owner remained calm despite the large number of guests, and her friendly service was admirable. The pizza and pasta were beyond delicious and a delight, so kudos to the chef. All in all, we had a perfect evening with delicious wine and great table companions, and we look forward to the next time :-)

We had to wait an extremely long time for our food – over 1.5 hours. Guests who arrived after us had their food earlier than us. Unfortunately, there was no apology or explanation from the staff. The food itself was okay, but the wait made the visit very disappointing. 6 people with a reservation

We had booked a table for 7 people in mid-August. When we arrived at the restaurant yesterday, it was overcrowded, and we were offered two tables even though we had ordered one together. That was the first negative factor, but it was okay. We ended up sitting at a table together, but it wasn't pleasant. So we decided to just take the pizza to go, since the wait for food at the restaurant was supposed to be very, very long (more than an hour), so we wrote down our order and the quantity. We asked when we could pick it up so that it could be done in peace. When we finally got to pick it up, the restaurant was even busier, and there were people waiting outside, so we waited until it was our turn. Then they forgot another pizza... So I think the place just wants to make a lot of money quickly. In the restaurant industry, you have to turn away guests when you can't go any further. The waitress was nice, but the manager just wanted money. He tells customers that the food will take a long time, but at the same time, he's accepting even more takeout orders. The only positive thing was the food, which was good, but the rest, unfortunately, wasn't. I also can't understand how people gave 5-star reviews yesterday. They've either never worked in the restaurant industry or don't eat out often enough.

We had reserved a table and then had to wait over two hours for our food. Some of the food was okay, but some of it was really bad. The pasta dish was wrong at first, and the correct one came very quickly, after six minutes! It looked and tasted like a simple ready meal with sauce from a jar. No one asked if we wanted anything to drink. Guests who arrived 45 minutes after us got their food before us. The ambiance was not good, and the entire restaurant smelled strongly of grease and stale food. Overall, a very disappointing visit.

The mozzarella pizza was truly delicious, and the drinks arrived quickly despite the restaurant being very busy. The service was super friendly. We'd love to come back and highly recommend this restaurant!

We reserved a table for 7 people 1.5 months in advance, and were supposed to split up between two tables. Since we didn't want that, we ordered. Nothing was ready at the scheduled time, and we had to wait another half hour until everything was ready. Others there waited several hours. The food itself was okay, not outstanding, but OK. My tip would be to accommodate fewer people and treat the people you have to the good food to a good time.

The two of us were just at Piccolo Mondo, without a reservation. Yes, it was very busy – but it's also a holiday, and all the restaurants in town are packed. We received a very friendly welcome and waited a total of about 30 minutes for our two pizzas, which is perfectly normal for such a lovely, small, family-run Italian restaurant. The pizza was very good, and the service was very friendly. What I find absolutely disgusting, however, is when guests have no idea about the restaurant business and have no understanding of the waiters or the restaurant. Many people think they're kings just because they ordered pizza with seven people. The fact that the restaurant was extremely full is overlooked – and then there's a complete lack of understanding for having to wait a little longer for their food. And to then give five bad reviews straight away, even with a group of seven, is outrageous. That's how you ruin small, family-run businesses. We were very happy and satisfied with the Piccolo Mondo restaurant.

I enjoyed it. However, the service didn't listen and therefore didn't consider customer requests. Given the high prices, one would expect a much higher standard, rather than the blame-shifting that was clearly audible at the next table.

The calzone was delicious, with delicious roasted flavors! I think the dishes are cooked in a wood-fired oven, and you can taste it. Highly recommended.

I've been coming to Hahnenklee regularly for over 10 years, and a visit to this restaurant is always a must for me. I've always received very friendly service, and the food has always been delicious. The portions are generous, and the prices are really reasonable. They're happy to accommodate special requests. Dear Tran family, I'm already looking forward to the next time!

Very simple ambience, but super friendly atmosphere and a super delicious pizza!

Yes, the ambiance isn't particularly appealing and the restaurant is rather small. However, the service is very friendly and the food is excellent. We were two families (7 people) and absolutely everything, from bruschetta to salami pizza and various pastas, was plentiful and incredibly delicious.

If you're on holiday in Hahnenklee and want to eat well and affordably, this is the place to be. The food is freshly prepared (if you order a schnitzel dish, you'll hear the kitchen knocking), the salad plate is large and made just now, not the morning before, and the service is first-class and unobtrusive. The pizzas are very large and taste great. This pizzeria is my absolute favorite and I highly recommend it! Definitely go there; it's worth it! And for fish lovers: definitely try the zander fillet! It's absolutely divine!

We've been coming to Hahnenklee for 10 years, for us, Piccolo Mondo is still the best restaurant in town! The food was delicious, but the ambiance was rather bare and not fitting for an Italian restaurant. It's best to reserve a table in advance. Unfortunately, we had to wait a very long time for our food.

The ambiance was very dated. The food was very good, but the extra ham plus €3 was completely overpriced. Unfortunately, we had to wait over an hour for the food. So, I can't recommend the restaurant.

Please choose another restaurant. We still hadn't had our food after an hour, so we left. The next table got their food after two hours. The main thing is to let more people in and only have one server. Not really recommended, and you'd be better off choosing another restaurant if you want a pleasant evening.

Unfortunately, the ambiance is a complete waste! Everything is very dated and not well-maintained. Very unloving... The service was very nice! Thank you very much for that! The food was okay, but not something I'd say I'd eat again, which is a shame. What's absolutely unacceptable, and a no-go in the restaurant industry, is the chef and his assistant chef, or whatever, talking loudly about personal matters! I wanted to eat something in peace with my family and not casually find out how the chef showers to save money. The exhaust system should also be checked, as by the end, all we could smell was a foul, hazy, burnt smell.

First of all: if a restaurant offers takeaway food, it should state on the menu that a surcharge will be added to the bill. This transparency is lacking in this restaurant; they argue with the customer about this surcharge even at the time of payment. The meal itself is beyond substandard. I had the broccoli in cream sauce. The vegetables were more like stalks than florets; no effort was made to prepare them in a tasty way. There was almost no ham, and the "sauce" was simply warmed-up cream. Overall, the dish lacked the usual seasonings like pepper and salt. I could have spent the money more wisely.

We ordered lasagna and sat outside. The microwave's ringing could be heard from outside. The lasagna pasta sheets were stacked on top of each other with nothing in between, and the ground beef was very dry.

Highly recommended. The staff is friendly, the service is impeccable, and the food is truly delicious. This restaurant is a must-visit for anyone looking for a delicious soup, pizza, or dessert.

We had no problem getting a seat without a reservation, although that may have been because there was a festival that day with a lot of people. The conditions were friendly. Our food was delicious.

The pizzas have nothing to do with real Italian cooking (in spite of this being advertised on the outside). Pre-fabricated pizza bases with no texture or taste. And a very alternative cabrese salad - tastes more oriental than Italian with a sweet sauce on top. Friendly waitress - but that’s about the best thing I can say about this place. Must have changed owner and chef since we first came here about 8 years ago.

Actually a good location, actually... Service friendly and fast, but... The ambiance needs to be cleaned more carefully. The floor was sticky, the tables weren't/weren't mopped, and the windows were dirty. The flies were annoying, so maybe try putting up a fly screen on the window. There was also a draft because both the main entrance and the beer garden doors were open. Then there were the loud phone conversations in the kitchen (speakerphone system) that disturbed the peace and quiet while enjoying the meal. That's what headsets are for! Otherwise: the food was okay. But it lacked the wow factor.

We had pizza and penne, preceded by bruschetta. The food was good, the atmosphere was okay, but everything took forever. They either need more staff or fewer tables.

First of all: The Italian restaurant is run by the Tran family. We were initially confused, as we assumed the owner was Italian. The food was okay. The spinach-filled ravioli on salad was from a package, but tasty. Unfortunately, it wasn't filling. The ravioli and a handful of walnuts were arranged on what at first glance appeared to be a nicely arranged arugula salad. In the middle, the pile of salad was then layered with an eighth of a roughly chopped iceberg lettuce block. Pine nuts, pumpkin seeds, and sunflower seeds went well together. Still, not worth 16.90. The saltimbocca looked okay, a bit carelessly presented. The croquettes were frozen, but looked like the better ones. 18.90 was okay. The quantity was fine for a woman. The children's schnitzel came with what the owner described as a universal homemade breading and seasoning mix and was breaded in-house. Unfortunately, it came with a generous amount of coarse black pepper. Far too peppery for most small children. Edible for adults. You should order without pepper here, otherwise you'll get a coating that's not very spicy. A little powdered pepper would have been fine, but not numerous coarse black pieces of home-ground black peppercorns. We were helped quickly and friendly after reporting the problem. I recommend simply adding table mustard, salt, sweet paprika, and a little powdered pepper to the children's coating. The service was fast and friendly. The ambiance is old-fashioned and unappealing. Everything was clean. The restrooms were also clean, but rather functional. The pizza at the next table looked appealing. Card payments are accepted. Dogs are very welcome here. Two tables were occupied by guests with large and small dogs. According to one local, Hahnenklee seems to be quite dog-friendly in general.

Whenever we spend a weekend in Hahnenklee, dinner at Piccolo Mondo is a must for us. Our favorite is "spaghetti with shrimp, served with insalata mista, pizza bread, and bruschetta." We love the friendly service and the uncomplicated atmosphere of this restaurant. We'd be happy to return!

We were assigned a table. After 15 minutes our drink order wasn't even taken. We then left.

Food was okay. Not special, not good and not bad. Waited 40 minutes for our drinks which were also incomplete. And then another 1 hour for our food. What was worse is that the PIN device did not work. We were sent out to withdraw money somewhere. Which posed a problem because they were out of service. Once we returned to tell them that we could not withdraw money, we were expected to leave an ID card to pay the next day. You were lucky that another guest wanted to help us out. Make sure your PIN devices work. And if it doesn't work. Let the guests know in advance. Or no longer accept guests into the restaurant because it is too busy. And focus on good service.

Bad organization. I pre-ordered locally and was supposed to come back in 1.5 hours to pick it up. When we got there to pick it up, we had to wait another half an hour. During this waiting time you could see that the guests who ate there had to come to the front and pay there because no one came. Others had to wait 80 minutes for their pizza (ordered at the table in the restaurant) only to be told that it was now in the oven. The tone became quite rough among each other and also towards guests. All in all not recommended, lack of staff or not, but if you can't entertain the guests you should be honest and send them away if necessary.

Absolutely disappointing - never again! Four of us ate there and waited more than an hour for our food - only for it to be served cold. When asked, there was no apology, instead we were treated extremely rudely and disrespectfully by the staff - including the boss himself. Drinks that we reordered only arrived after 15 minutes. The boss's behavior was particularly unacceptable: As we left the restaurant, he looked at us disparagingly, whispered something incomprehensible in (presumably) Italian and laughed - an absolute no-go for any restaurant with a hint of decency. Service, friendliness and quality lack any standard here. Such places should really be allowed to close. I can only strongly advise everyone not to visit this place. An imposition across the board.

I came here with my family for the holidays. My family is lucky enough to enjoy Italian food at this restaurant every time we visit. The staff is enthusiastic and the food is very fresh and delicious. very reasonable price. Of course, if you come during rush hour you may have to wait a bit. We can only recommend it and will definitely come back.

The staff were friendly. We found the food to be very tasty. We had to wait quite a long time until we could order, until the food and finally the bill came. At the beginning there was a drink missing, the wine wasn't really a burner, but that's a matter of taste. It was very, very warm in the front room. Toilets were very clean.

My husband and I both ordered pizza. We waited 75 minutes for the food. The pizzas were edible, but the base was not homemade pizza dough, but more like a tortilla. The whole atmosphere was characterized by the fact that there were far too few staff, both in the kitchen and in the restaurant. For example, we sat close to the telephone which rang continuously, but without being picked up. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend the place.

The food was very tasty. The spaghetti with shrimp was really good and also had a lot of shrimp! The pizza base a little too thick. Unfortunately the shop was very busy and the waiter couldn't keep up. We had to wait a bit, but it was within limits for us. Unfortunately, other guests sat at the table for 20 minutes and weren't even asked for drinks. They then left. There was just too much going on. Maybe it's not always like that. Anyway, the food was good and we would come again.

Avoid Tuesday 😉, we had reserved a table, our first visit here. There was a lot going on, a lot of chaos in the store, staff overwhelmed, people standing in line around the tables, the phone constantly ringing. Waiting time from sitting down to receiving the starter/drinks 1 hour. (a starter was completely forgotten), main course came after 1.5 hours, food was good, but nothing special.

The food was served quickly and tasted excellent. We had pizza, tortellini, salad and Argentinian steak, everything was prepared exemplary. The staff was very friendly and professional. Unfortunately the table was not clean, quite sticky and one chair was very wet, therefore deductions for the ambience.

We spent a really nice evening at Piccolo. Both the starters and the two main courses were very tasty. The right wine and great service rounded off our visit.

An Italian restaurant with an Asian all-rounder who is a chef, waiter and dishwasher. This meant there wasn't enough time for everything and one meal was also mixed up. The noodles seemed to be cheap by the dozen that had been in the water a little too long.

Pizzas were pre-ordered 2 hours in advance and were not ready to be picked up on time.

Im Dezember 2024 haben wir die Pizzeria Piccolo Mondo besucht. Wir haben für 15 Personen im Vorfeld reserviert. Die Reservierung lief Reibungslos einen Abend zu vor. Im Restaurant war die Atmosphäre sehr laut und beengt wir haben direkt neben der Küche gesessen. Leider war an diesem Abend nur eine Servicekraft ( diese war sehr freundlich und hätte die Arbeit garnicht alleine schaffen können ) für sehr viele Leute da, auf ein zweites Getränk haben wir vergebens gewartet. Wir haben Getränke und Essen zusammen bestellt. Die Vorspeisen sind leider für jeden Tisch separat gekommen so das ein gemeinsames Essen unmöglich war. Als Vorspeise hatten wir Tomate Mozzarella dieses war leider total versalzen. Im Hauptgang gab es Schweinefilet mit Gorgonzola Sauce und Kroketten auch dieses Essen war versalzen und lieblos angerichtet.

In this restaurant you can taste that the food is freshly made. Sometimes it takes a little longer if there are a lot of guests. But it's worth it. We always enjoy coming here.

The service always made an effort, was nice and friendly. The cleanliness was definitely questionable. The table was literally stuck together, so not very appetizing. The pasta with tomato sauce tasted like ready-made pasta sauce from a jar. And totally overdone. The pizza tomato sauce was also very over-seasoned. .. The Fanta was stale... so I would have actually saved the money and won't visit this place again.
