Wonderful evening in a unique restaurant listening to old Jewish music played live on the piano. A throughly mesmerising experience with the best customer service and exceptional food. I had the lamb cutlets and a pavlova for dessert. 10/10. No cash… just cards… that’s unusual for Berlin.

Amazing place for breakfast with authentic Russian cuisine! We ordered the breakfast for two, oladushki (Russian pancakes), and a matcha latte, everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The highlight of our visit was the exceptional service from Marita. She was incredibly kind, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. Her recommendations were spot on, and her warm attitude made our mood better. We will definitely be coming back and highly recommend this place!

I was looking for a place to impress my German boyfriend with Russian cuisine and this restaurant was absolutely perfect! The food was beautifully presented and truly captured the flavors of Russia. Great food and attentive personnel, Marita was quick to explain the options on the menu and communicated freely in 3 different languages with our international table. It’s the second time we return to this restaurant and the food is good as always, and the food doesn’t take long to come out of the kitchen.

The food was delicious as always, but the POOR SERVICE ruined the entire evening. For the prices I would definitely have expected more hospitality. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend the restaurant and will avoid it in the future.

Check-in, pushing to pay and walking away even though there was no reservation afterwards, in the middle of dinner. Too tight. Service very bad.

Very nicely decorated restaurant and the food was very tasty. Moskva beer is recommended and there was also live music in the evening. The only negative point is that the tables are a bit too close together and the high prices for the portions that aren't quite as generous. Still highly recommended!

Amazing food. The dumplings and stroganoff highly recommend. Red wine was perfect combo with any sort of meat. Request Dimitri as server, very kind and made sure to open window when I felt it was hot. Great service and food

My favorite place for russian cuisine, for sure! At least twice a month we come back for the babushka borscht. We tried the vareniki the other day and wow, delicious as well. Not to mention the 10/10 bliny with cherries 🤤

Food excellent - service unfortunately completely overwhelmed, inattentive and impersonal. The food tasted really great, everything was perfectly seasoned, fresh and there were great, creative combinations of different components. The cauliflower steak was a poem in the combination presented with the other ingredients. The dessert also tasted heavenly!!! Lots of vegetarian and also some vegan options, which is really great! Unfortunately the service was really bad. The welcome was cool and direct with the information that the reserved table was only available for 90 minutes. The table was then prepared. It took almost 20 minutes for the drinks to be served and the food order to be taken. It also took a disproportionately long time to be served and after the main course we felt ignored, even though we clearly made eye contact and even wanted to signal our attention so that we could order dessert. It was like a mass processing of people, far too few service staff. Unfortunately, this significantly damaged the overall experience. In addition, the restaurant has extremely tight seating, so if you want to eat comfortably and in peace here, you are definitely out of place. It's loud and you feel crowded together. Very unfortunate.

Bijzonder sfeervol restaurant met prettige bediening en fantastisch lekker eten. We wisten niet goed wat ons te wachten stond, kenden de Russische keuken niet. We dronken wijnen uit Georgië, eveneens verrassend goed! En dat voor redelijke prijzen.

Plein à craquer mais l’accueil est bon. Des plats très bien servis et excellents j’avais pris un plat végétarien dont je ne me souviens plus du nom qui était très copieux. La viande des autres plats était extra tendres. Une pavlova à tomber. Un vin israélien très bon. Ce qui était moins plaisant c’est que les clients parlaient fort à cause du piano.

I would have love to rate the food, but unfortunately after waiting for 15min, we haven’t got any attention from the waitress. Early this day, the place was not very busy, yet. Especially as we could watch the waitress casually glazing out of the windows instead of serving us. Also, when we decided to leave the waitress didn’t even apologize or say anything when we had to look for alternatives in the area

Den ene stjerne som skulle gives - må gå til den drinks som vi bestilte som starter!!! ALT andet var under AL kritik og var medvirkende til at vores nytårsaften, blev en del anderledes end de høje forventninger, vi havde bygget op til denne aften! Vi havde for måneder siden bestilt bord til nytårsaften, med valgt nytårs menu “pradznik”. Vi havde fået fin bekræftelse på bord til 19.30 og bekræftelse af menu til 4 personer! SÅ skuffelsen var STOR, da vi festligt udklædt ankom og konstaterede at restauranten lukkede 21.00 uden vi vidste herom!? Skuffelsen blev værre, da tjeneren ikke helt vidste at vi havde bestilt “pradznik” middag og ville konferere med køkkenet! Efterfølgende vendte hun tilbage, med ærgerlige og virkelige skuffe de besked om, at vi desværre var nødt til at bestille a la carte, da vi skulle være mindst 7 personer! Dette var vi ikke tidligere blevet oplyst om, så nu havde vi en time til halvanden, til at få bestilt og spist, hvilket var i en noget anden liga, end den vi havde forberedt os på! Havde vi været uordentlige mennesker, havde vi ALDRIG givet drikkepenge, men da vi ER godt opdraget, gav vi 10 % - trods det, at vi på intet tidspunkt var blevet kompenseret for noget som helst. Kommer vi igen???? Nej desværre ikke! Øv at en resataurant med så gode anmeldelser, ikke kan leve op til standarden en nytårsaften!

We took the Herring starter and the Borscht soups- both the vegetarian and the beef. All was very delicious, served in the right temperature and the portions were generous. The small lunch was accompanied with Gin&Tonic and beer. The service is kind and welcoming.

Unfortunately, I'm not in the city enough to eat here more often. But today I had the pleasure of once again enjoying a great breakfast in a cozy restaurant. The subsequent visit to the market at Kollwitz Platz rounded off what was, for me, a perfect Saturday.

I like this restaurant because of the cozy atmosphere both indoor and outdoor. Our waiter, Martin was very attentive and friendly. He made several recommendations for what to get for a quick visit. Overall, we had a good time.

The Pasternak is a really nice restaurant in the Kollwitz district of Prenzlauer Berg. I have been a guest several times and have eaten there morning, lunch and evening. The service was always attentive and polite. You can find both vegetarian and great meat dishes. The menu options give you great insights into the house's exciting cuisine. The ambience is stylish and classic. When someone sits at the piano in the evening, it naturally creates a very special charm. A nice place for a meal with your partner or to show friends a cool restaurant!

Best Restaurant of slavic cuisune in Berlin (I can compare wirh others)! Borsch is super decent, salads are beyond amazing, Kiew Kotlett is very tasty. The athmosphere is super cosy, the district is just beautiful. The stuff is very polite and attentive. I keep bringing my friends there, and they are always satisfied. Amazing place. We had borschtsch, pangrit ( grilled chicken ), Wareniki and Pasternak pancake- all dishes we excellent, with special easter charm, especially the soup. The atmosphere is lovely, with small piano playing etc. Must visit in Berlin.

The food was not bad, but when we checked out they didn’t give us a bill, but instead brought us a terminal for payment. After returning, we recalculated our account and it turned out that we were defrauded by 7 euros. We really regret visiting this restaurant.

We were there a week ago to celebrate a friend’s birthday. What I liked: 1.delicious food, thanks to the cook 2.friendly staff What I didn't like: 1.you are given only two hours to stay in the restaurant. Considering that the order takes 30-35 minutes to prepare, then there is very little time left. It already looks like a canteen, not a restaurant. 2. very small room, tables are close to each other, if you want to leave the table, you will definitely hit the guest at the next table 3. the light in the toilet suddenly turns off, it’s obvious they are saving on electricity. In general, I conclude that the restaurant is suitable for a snack, but not for a holiday.

Great Sunday brunch menu for Russian specialties. Such good variety of items in one dish. I got the smoked salmon, with potato latke, scrambled eggs, avocado mash, cream cheese pinwheels with spinach ad caviar eggs, prawn and beet salad with horseradish. I've been coming here for over 10 years and quality of food and service remains consistent. Thanks again for another great experience and memory.

Unfortunately a bad experience. Normally I communicate criticism on site, but here the service was neither interesting nor attentive. We had made a reservation for 2 people on a Friday evening with the note that one person had a wheelchair. When we arrived and I asked the gentleman with the beard to hold the door open so I could bring in the wheelchair, he first complained that it was far too narrow for one. Yes, I also saw that it was tight, you can tell that when making the reservation. After I had to look at 3 tables, he was finally able to hold the door open. The table was against the wall, the other guests were there almost immediately, I had to move the wheelchair and put it next to the piano. Then came the hint that the pianist would be coming “immediately”. When I asked when and where to take the wheelchair, the answer was: at 8. So in 75 minutes, that's fine, I thought. There was no help or suggestions. The service at the table was ok, but it dropped significantly within an hour, a drink was forgotten, no question what it was like, a plate was cleared away while the other person was still eating. That doesn't work for me at all. The food itself was also ok, not outstanding and not particularly good for the price. After a little more than an hour we basically fled because it was getting busier and louder and the service completely ignored us - I had to shout and wave vigorously for the bill. We skipped dessert and an espresso. 4 beers, 1 bottle of water, 2 starters and 2 main courses for over €100 - it wasn't worth it. The wheelchair was moved during that time and our jackets were thrown on the floor. That's not possible either, I don't like it when someone touches my things without asking and casually drops them. When we went out, no one was interested in us; I had to hold the curtain open with my foot, the door with my hand and move the wheelchair. This isn't just bad service, it's out of the question and humiliating. Was it just a bad evening by chance? I don't believe it. The parsnip will never see me again.

Mixed feelings... Ambiance/location/food top! Service very slow and inattentive. We had to wait a long time for the menu and drinks. The pelmeni were very good, but 19 EUR???? There was far too little Smetana and spicy sauce. We had to reorder and that took forever and everything was cold by now. When clearing away the food was not asked whether it was tasty or whether you still wanted to order, etc. Some bread would have been nice beforehand. Unfortunately we were disappointed overall.

El único problema es que solo se puede pagar con tarjeta y la propina mínima es del 10% (parece ser una práctica común en Berlín ahora). Daría mucho aún más, pero al no tener elección, elijo solo el 10 %. De lo contrario, sería 5 puntos y fantástico!

A really lovely place to have an amazing supper. The members stuff were friendly particularly Myki, he was efficient to bring our food and drinks. A special place to dine. The food was excellent and the service excellent especially our waiter Myki who made us feel at home.
