Palmyra Restaurant in Erlangen offers a good overall experience. The food was amazing, very tasty, and well prepared. The atmosphere is nice, and prices are reasonable for the quality. Service was good and attentive. However, the restaurant feels quite tight, and accessing the toilet was not very easy due to limited space. Overall, it’s a good place for quality food, but the layout and space could be more comfortable.

The food was excellent, and the owner was friendly and attentive. The restaurant isn't very large, and when I was there, it was completely full. Therefore, it was quite noisy, but the food was truly delicious, the portions were quite generous, and the wait time was perfectly reasonable despite the large number of people. So, if you don't mind a bit of noise, this is a highly recommended place.

Palmyra – a lively Arabic restaurant in the heart of Erlangen. Where all the 5-star reviews come from is a bit of a mystery. It can't be the food – while beautifully presented, the taste is completely average. The prices are okay, but it's not exactly a bargain. The restaurant itself is nice, but incredibly loud; during peak hours, you can only have a conversation by shouting. They cram every last corner with tables to squeeze in even more guests. What bothered me most, however, was the service. A while back, a waiter accidentally spilled a large drink over a guest's head and then vanished without a trace, leaving the family sitting there bewildered for several minutes. Thankfully, this isn't the norm. But even otherwise, things can be rather rough – I arrived before my reservation time, and the owner's only response was, "There are 10 more minutes. Please go back and come on time." Others wanted another plate – response: Why didn't you think of that earlier? Overall, no more tips for me.

The restaurant could be a bit bigger. Otherwise, it's perfect.

You need to book a table well in advance, as the restaurant is popular. The menu is well-balanced, with something for everyone. You'll be shown to your table. After selecting your food and drinks, you can quickly order, and your order will arrive promptly. Unfortunately, you'll be somewhat neglected if you're seated in the cramped back section of the restaurant. Ordering a second or third drink can be difficult. The restaurant itself is inviting, but the restrooms could use a renovation.

The food here is absolutely amazing. I've been coming here for years, and everyone I've brought with me has been thrilled. I especially love ordering the platters (for 3, 4, or 5 people). They have a huge selection of dips, sides, and meats, and even vegetarians and vegans have been happy with them because the selection is truly enormous. If you like falafel, you should definitely order it; I've never had better falafel. Since the restaurant isn't exactly a hidden gem anymore, it's advisable to make a reservation. Highly recommended.

Main courses were very tasty and offered a generous variety. Dessert and hot drinks... well, there's a lot of room for improvement. For example, the Turkish coffee didn't even have coffee grounds... so it was very weak and very bland... zero flavor. The tea was the same.

Restaurant Palmyra in Erlangen offers a huge selection of Arabic cuisine. Besides meat dishes, they also have vegan options like falafel and much more. They have a particularly wide variety of dips, which are very good. The service is friendly and efficient. The portions are very generous, but you can easily have any leftovers packed up. However, you should definitely make a reservation, as the restaurant is always very busy. The only downside is that the restaurant is quite small.

This was my first time here today and I'm absolutely thrilled! The grilled meat was perfectly juicy, aromatic, and had a wonderful smoky flavor. You can tell that they grill with love and experience. It was accompanied by a glass of red wine, perfectly paired and well-rounded – simply a delight! The atmosphere was relaxed, the staff friendly and attentive without being intrusive. You really feel welcome. I'll definitely be back; I've rarely eaten and drunk so well!

We spontaneously stopped by Palmyra yesterday without a reservation. We received a very friendly welcome, and despite the restaurant being fully booked, they spontaneously arranged for us to stay. We had the Palmyra platter for two – incredibly delicious! I don't know what could be better. The service was also very friendly. If I'm in Erlangen again, I will definitely eat here again.

This was my first time at this restaurant and I was very disappointed. First, they don't ask for your name, but instead require you to provide your reservation phone number—that doesn't make sense. Second, the waitress and even the manager just watched to see when we finished eating and left. Third, the meat we ordered ("Palmira Extra") was dry and completely inedible. Only one star for me.

I honestly don’t understand the positive reviews here. The food was nowhere near as good as in other Arabic restaurants in the area. The grilled lamb was completely overcooked and didn’t taste good at all. Service was not great—just barely okay. When we asked for recommendations, we felt pushed into ordering rather than being advised. The appetizers ended up overlapping with the main dishes, and instead of trying to accommodate our requests, the staff seemed more focused on bringing extra items to add to the bill. Overall, a disappointing experience.

The food here is not good. I don't know if the great reviews are all from their friends or what's going on, but the pita was dry and from the grocery store, the meat is overcooked and tough, and the vegetables are soggy or in salads with oddly salty dressing. The service is decent, although they don't give you new plates and cutlery between the appetizers and mains. On the plus side, the wine is cheap, but that's not why I chose this restaurant. Not recommended.

We ate here in the summer and it was a mixed but still good experience. The food was incredibly delicious and there was a really large portion, which we were happy to take home for the next day. Something so good shouldn't be wasted. The service was very quick and attentive despite the volume of orders. But the sheer number of reservations and the fact that the street was packed with tables wasn't pleasant. A few fewer tables outside would have improved the ambiance. You should definitely make a reservation, otherwise it looks quite cramped.

I went there for the first time yesterday and luckily managed to get a table. However, the service was disappointing; it was slow, and overall, I didn't feel particularly attentive. I had the upturned rice. It tasted okay, but not outstanding for me. The whole thing seemed quite dry, even though it was served with a kind of yogurt spread similar to tzatziki. I didn't think it was good value for money, as it essentially consisted of rice with a few toppings like beef and almonds. Maybe I just got the wrong dish, but for me personally, it wasn't a great experience. The service, in particular, rather dampened the overall experience.

Today was our first time in Palmyra. The food was truly incredible. We were very impressed with everything. We were very, very satisfied. It felt exactly like you were on vacation. The staff were fantastic, very friendly, and they kept asking if everything was okay. The garden was very nice and fully booked. The street was fantastic. Five of us once ordered platters for four. That was enough for eight people, absolutely incredible. Thank you so much, we will definitely be back, and thanks to the team.

I had a truly incredible dining experience at Restaurant Palmyra. I ordered the Palmyra Teller, and it was an absolute standout. The platter was a perfect introduction to their authentic Syrian cuisine, featuring a wonderful variety of flavors and textures. The grilled meats were perfectly marinated, the falafel was crispy and delicious, and the dips like the hummus and mutabal were incredibly fresh and flavorful. The entire dish was a perfect balance of spices and freshness. The cozy atmosphere and friendly staff made the meal even more enjoyable. I can't recommend this dish enough—it's a must-try!

One of the best restaurants in Erlangen!

The food was okay, but we liked the starters best. We didn't think the main courses were that great, and they were quite expensive (around €16 for the rice pot, which only contained rather dry rice, eggplant, and almonds...). The service was rather poor: We were given a stained tablecloth, had to arrange the plates and napkins ourselves, and we had to pack up the leftover food ourselves at the end; they only brought a box. The outdoor area is quite nice in the summer, with a view of the church in one direction. It's also very central.

I've been going to Palmyra in Erlangen for several years now. The food is authentic and always tastes special. If you're looking for something a little different from your average meal and enjoy something special, especially Mesopotamian cuisine, this is the place for you. On certain evenings, you should definitely make a reservation. The prices are perfectly reasonable for the food.

We ordered a platter for two people, but it was probably enough for many more. A week ago, we were at Amasina. A waitress was very rude and drunk, and also brought the wrong food. When the food was brought, she spilled wine on my boyfriend. Disaster! Come to Palmyra instead.

A very popular restaurant near the train station. The food is outstanding, but it's best to arrive a little later to avoid rush hour. We even got a house special at the end. Highly recommended!
