Restaurant Ölckenthurm in Unna

Mein Mann hat mich zum 2. Mal zum Candle Light Dinner in den Oelkenturm eingeladen. Wie auch schon beim 1. Mal wurden wir mit einem tollen Menü verwöhnt und der Service war sehr herzlich und aufmerksam. Vor allem die liebe Jenny ist da besonders hervorzuheben, die sich wunderbar um uns gekümmert hat. Gastfreundschaft wird im Oelkenturm wirklich groß geschrieben. Das Essen war sehr lecker und abwechslungsreich. Absolute Empfehlung von uns beiden und wir kommen bestimmt bald wieder. Aller guten Dinge sind ja bekanntlich mindestens 3. 😉

Meine Frau und ich waren bereits öfter Gäste und haben auch Ihren Geburtstag bereits mehrmalig hier gefeiert, zuletzt ihren 60. Jedes Mal wird man herzlichst empfangen, das Ambiente stimmt und das Essen ist großartig! Für den Geburtstag haben wir uns den Raum im Untergeschoss reserviert, als wir ankamen war alles bereits vorbereitet & schön dekoriert, wir mussten uns um nichts kümmern. Selbstverständlich war auch das Essen wieder sehr gut, alle Gäste sind glücklich & satt abgefahren. Man hat stets ein oder mehrere Servicekräfte vor Ort gehabt, sodass bei Bedarf neue Getränke geholt wurden. Das Restaurant ist jedes Mal wieder ein Erlebnis welches von gutem Ambiente, super Personal und nicht zuletzt von wirklich gutem Speis & Trank geprägt ist. Es wird in Zukunft definitiv noch öfter besucht! Für jeden Unneraner & für jeden der Unna besucht ein MUSS!

Nach dem zweiten Gang zum Spargelbuffet war ich bereits satt, aber weil es so fantastisch gut geschmeckt hat bin ich ein drittes Mal gegangen und hab es nicht bereut. Sonntags zum Brunch, oder einfach mal zwischendurch, oder aktuell zum Spargelessen. Es schmeckt immer gut und die Bedienung ist mega freundlich.

Waren im Oktober 25 zum ersten Mal dort. Das Candlelight Dinner war mega. Also wollten wir es ein 2. Mal versuchen und haben im April das Restaurant erneut aufgesucht. Waren diesmal sehr enttäuscht. Dreckige, staubige Tischdecke, die Gläser sahen auch nicht frisch aus. Nach 20 Min bekamen wir endlich mal die Speisekarte, nebenbei, wir waren, bis auf eine kleine Gesellschaft, die ersten Gäste. Wollten eigentlich wieder gehen, wäre vtl besser gewesen. Das Schnitzel und das Cordonbleu waren mit Sicherheit aus der Friteuse, was einem nach dem Essen sehr schwer im Bauch lag. Von der Vorspeise bis zum Hauptgang, verging keine Sekunde, scheinbar hatte man es eilig in der Küche. Von Oktober bis jetzt, ein Unterschied wie Tag und Nacht. Sorry, aber war diesmal für uns nicht das Restaurant das wir kennen

Super Ambiente, total leckere Auswahl

Ich besuche nun zum zweiten Mal das Spargelbuffet im Ölkenturm, welches passend zur Spargelsaison stattfindet. Beim ersten sowie auch beim zweiten Mal bin ich äußerst begeistert von der Auswahl und Qualität der angebotenen Speisen. Der Spargel der hier zubereitet wird, ist einer der besten die ich jemals gegessen habe. Außerdem hat das Restaurant einfach einen Mittelalterlichen Turm quasi integriert, deshalb sowieso 5/5 Sterne.

Das Essen ist hervorragend. Auch der Service ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Kaminzimmer, das zum Beispiel für Geburtstage und Hochzeiten genutzt werden kann, hat ein sehr schönes Ambiente.

Wir waren das erste Mal dort. Sehr schönes Ambiente, sehr aufmerksamer Service und ein super leckeres Essen. Wir waren garantiert nicht das letzte Mal dort.

Whow. Wir waren mit einer 15er Runde in der Basis des Turms selbst. Teil der mittelalterlichen Stadtmauer. Alles tadellos. Aufmerksam. Nett. Nicht aufdringlich. Super Essen. Alle waren begeistert.

Reservierung empfohlen. Wir waren Freitags, am frühen Abend, im Ölckenthurm und das Restaurant war schon sehr gut besucht. Wir erhielten aber noch einen Tisch in einem Nebenraum, der auch schon fast vollständig besetzt war. Trotzdem war die Kellnerin schnell bei uns, nahm die Getränke, auf die auch schnell gebracht wurden. Speisekarte sehr umfangreich, sollte jeder etwas für seinen Geschmack finden. Wir bestellten beide die "Lendchen Ölckenthurm" rustikal in der Pfanne serviert. Geschmacklich sehr gut und reichlich. Wurden auch schnell serviert, obwohl eine Gruppe von 10 Personen kurz vor uns ihre Bestellung aufgegeben hatte. Leider waren meine Lendchen sehr dick geschnitten und wohl etwas zu lange gebraten worden, sie waren zu fest / trocken, aber noch essbar ansonsten hätte ich reklamiert. Ansonsten schönes Lokal und wir werden in nächster Zeit auch einmal dort den Sonntagsbrunch ausprobieren.

Waren heute zum 50 ten Geburtstag mit der Familie da Brunchen waren 12 Personen und saßen im Wintergarten. Essen war lecker und reichlich und die Bedienung war mehr als Super und kompetent. Werden aufjedenfall noch mal hin gehen, sehr zu empfehlen.

Wir waren schon oft zu Geburtstagen im Oelckenthurm essen und es war immer schön. Das Essen ist richtig gut, die Portionen ordentlich und man sitzt dort in einer angenehmen und gehobenen Atmosphäre. Leider waren uns das letzte Mal die Bedienungen einfach zu schnell, was sich vielleicht komisch anhört. Was in anderen Restaurants vielleicht zu lange dauert, geht hier in einem rasanten Tempo: man sitzt kaum, wird man nach Getränkewünschen gefragt, kaum sind die Getränke da, wird man nach den Essenswünschen gefragt. Selbst auf den Hinweis, dass man noch etwas überlegen muss, kommt die Bedienung nach 3-4 Minuten wieder. Sobald ein Glas geleert, ein Teller leer ist, wird sofort abgeräumt. Gefühlt stand immer eine Bedienung an unserem Tisch. Es hat leider die entspannte Atmosphäre etwas gestört und uns etwas gestresst. Ich hoffe, dass sich das das nächste Mal wieder normalisiert.

Tolles Ambiente ,sowie ein Top-Service und auch überragende Gästezimmer. Lohnt sich jedesmal wiederzukommen.

Das Beisammensein nach der Trauerfeier war sehr schön und würdevoll gestaltet. Die Bewirtung war aufmerksam, professionell und von hoher Qualität. In dieser schweren Situation haben wir uns gut aufgehoben gefühlt. Vielen Dank dafür.

Wir haben letzten Sonntag den Geburtstag meines Mannes mit einem Brunsch in diesem Restaurant / Wintergarten gefeiert und waren rundum begeistert. Alles war hervorragend organisiert. Der Raum war schön geschmückt, das Essen ausgezeichnet und der Service durchweg freundlich, aufmerksam und äußerst kompetent. Besonders beeindruckend war, dass trotz des komplett ausgebuchten Restaurants / alle Räume und Tische waren belegt, alles reibungslos und entspannt ablief. Unsere Gäste und wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt. Ein großes Lob an das gesamte Team! Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder und können das Restaurant uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen.

Wirklich ein tolles Restaurant mit einem angenehmen Ambiente und einer schönen Kulinarischen Welt. Das Restaurant hält sich schon sehr lange und ist wirklich empfehlenswert.

Wir waren heute zu dritt im Ölckenthurm, wir hatten eine Marcronen Sahne Suppe zur Vorspeise, diese Suppe war hervorragend!!! Ich wollte nicht das sie endet (: Das Buffet war einfach super! Sehr gute Qualität für traditionelle Speisen, allerdings wenig Vegan oder vegetarisch, ausser Fleischgerichte ohne Fleisch. Sehr freundlich, sehr sauber und gut geführt.

We had the pleasure of celebrating our wedding at Ölckenthurm and felt completely at ease from the very first moment. The planning and execution were simply fantastic. Alles in allem geht man hier zum Essen hin, das Essen hat mir allerdings so garnicht für diese. Preis geschmeckt. Folglich werde ich hier nicht mehr hin gehen.

We will definitely come back; all three dishes were absolutely delicious, and the tomato soup starter was simply fantastic. What we didn't like was that the main course arrived almost as soon as we finished the tomato soup. We would have liked to have had five to ten minutes to let the starter settle.

Every year it's the same! A family tradition now is to visit around Christmas time and enjoy the obligatory, deliciously braised beef roulade. I'd rather skip the dumpling and have more red cabbage. If needed, the kitchen will happily refill the very tasty sauce. They also serve the "Nutcracker" dessert with a little eggnog. This year, I was lucky enough to enjoy it twice. Both times, the taste and quality of the food were excellent. The service was also outstanding (as always). A fantastic team, perfectly in sync. Always friendly, attentive, and courteous. Admittedly, ambiance is always a matter of taste, but at the end of the year, it's always cozy here, and I like that. What's more, we were seated in the "Tower Room" last night, which is simply charming (in my opinion). So, I'll definitely be back again around this time in 2026. Cozy restaurant with friendly service

This was our first time at the Oelkenthurm and we were so surprised. The atmosphere is very cozy. We liked the friendliness and calmness with which we were served. We never felt like we were in a hurry. Here, you can escape the stress of everyday life with good food. We celebrated my caregiver's 95th birthday there, and I can only say that it is highly recommended in every way. Everything was very nice, the service was excellent. It was simply fantastic. I can highly recommend it. It certainly won't be the last time we're there. A fantastic team.

We haven't been to the Oelckenthurm for a while and were curious to see if it might be like many other restaurants... prices up, quality and quantity down. But far from it. The prices have only increased moderately, by about 12%, but the quality and quantity of the food, as well as the service, are still excellent. Upon entering, we were immediately greeted warmly by the lovely Jenny and shown to our seats. We chose a starter, the Burgundy snails, which we wanted to share. My husband had a delicious Riesling to drink, the price of which, at €5.90, was more than pleasantly surprising. My Aperol Spritz, at €7.50, was completely normal in terms of price. When the starter finally arrived, we were surprised to find that they brought us two pots of snails. When we mentioned that we only wanted one portion, we were told that it would be divided into two portions straight away. How thoughtful of the kitchen. We arrived at 5:00 PM, and the dining room filled up quickly. Despite all the stress, the service was completely seamless, and the owner even came to our table for a quick chat. For the main course, my husband was a little peckish, and I had the knuckle of pork. For €19.90 each, we had two huge portions; the knuckle was absolutely divine. So crispy, with little fat, and wonderful meat—and a little peck is always perfect anyway. Afterward, we were stuffed and treated ourselves to a wonderful apricot schnapps. Finally, I ordered the delicious, homemade tiramisu. Also perfect and delicious. The sophisticated atmosphere and warm hospitality were simply outstanding, which is probably also due to the fact that this restaurant has been under the same management for a long time and they always strive to maintain their standards. We spent two wonderful hours there and would gladly return. Thank you very much.

The decor was very cozy. We felt very comfortable in the restaurant. The staff was very friendly. Our son's pizza was a frozen one. There was so much sauce on the pizza that he could barely eat it. Rather disappointing. The rest of the food was very tasty and flavorful.

I've tried to reserve a table several times in the last few months. Apparently, there's never anything available. I got lucky once and was asked for the time, which was fine. When I then said there were two people, there was suddenly nothing available again. The employee was very, very unfriendly and rude. Such staff are a real asset!

Indescribably wonderful! Five out of five stars doesn't do this place justice. I'd love to give it 100 stars. The food is consistently incredibly delicious and of very high quality. Furthermore, service is a top priority here, and the entire staff is consistently friendly, incredibly professional, and won't turn down any request. Consequently, we celebrated our wedding at the Ölckenturm on August 23, 2025, and everything was absolutely perfect. My wife and I can only warmly recommend this restaurant with its special charm. We celebrated our wedding at the Ölkenthurm and were completely satisfied. We had flexible use of both the indoor and outdoor areas, and the wait staff were super friendly and on top of their game. We felt very comfortable the entire evening, and the food was also very good.

My partner and I were in the mood for something delicious and something to do. The Ölkenthurm is just the place! We called around midday to reserve a table for two at around 6:00 PM. When we arrived, the outdoor area was already quite full, and several tables inside were already occupied. So, it's really worth booking a table, even during the week! After we arrived at the front of the restaurant, we were greeted very politely and assigned a table for two. As always, the tables were beautifully decorated! After a short while, an employee came and handed us the menus and the drinks list. As befits a good restaurant, the menu was presented to the guest first. We were then told what other dishes were on offer that day (fresh chanterelle mushrooms with pork medallions and fresh rösti). Afterward, we were asked what we would like to drink. Since my partner wasn't sure yet, she was offered a few things, as is usual with the Ölkenthurm service. After our drinks were brought, we received a small greeting from the kitchen (fresh homemade rolls with a bowl of cream cheese), both of which were delicious! After a while, the main course arrived. The chanterelle mushrooms were served with lightly sautéed onions. The pork medallions were wrapped in bacon and cooked to perfection for us. The rösti buns were served beautifully with a tomato sauce. All in all, it was beautifully presented on the plate. After we had finished our meal, we were asked if we wanted anything else, such as dessert or coffee. After our hearty meal, we each opted for a cappuccino. After we had eaten and drunk everything, the bill arrived, as always. We were asked whether we wanted to pay in cash or by card. We don't want to discuss the amount because everyone should know that good food, service, and ambiance are part of the experience, and if you feel comfortable, it shouldn't be discussed or even thought about. All in all, it was another very successful evening at the Ölkenthurm restaurant, and we're already looking forward to our next visit there!

Extremely delicious food with a welcome from the chef beforehand, and a generous portion. It'll fill you up! Even without an appetizer. Highly recommended, and the service is fantastic. The drinks are delicious, too, and the prices and value for money are outstanding.

I came here with a large group after a medieval city tour. The location, near the remains of the old city walls, was well chosen. The service was friendly and quick, and the food was plentiful and of good quality. Allergies and dietary requirements were taken into account. We felt very comfortable and had a lovely evening!

We enjoyed a medieval feast with a large group. As is typical in the Middle Ages, there was a very lavish selection of food: from salads and cold appetizers to several meats with a variety of side dishes, vegetarian options, and a perfect dessert. The food was served quickly, and we barely had room left at the table. The food was hot and, as is typical at the Ölckenthurm, very delicious. Since we had several last-minute cancellations, we didn't have a chance to eat everything.

We were there as part of a company outing and had a "set menu" with tabletops. The food was good and plentiful. Service was very attentive and friendly (large groups are always very challenging). What really bothered me was that I tried several times to get a to-go bowl to take some of our leftovers with me so they wouldn't be thrown away. The kitchen constantly refused to give me one, claiming instead that they didn't have them. An hour later, other guests at the table were given the exact same bowls I'd requested to pack their leftovers. We had at least 5 kg of meat left over. So either our leftovers were thrown away instead of packing some meat for a few people, or the food was sold again? Even though we were a large group, it shouldn't be a problem for a few people to take some of the leftover food, after all, we paid a lot of money for it. I would have been willing to pay for the bowl. Anything is better than unsustainably and wastefully throwing away food. Unfortunately, this handling of the situation overshadowed the entire visit.

We visited the restaurant with a large group, and the food was ordered in advance and served as generous platters. Everything was served extremely punctually and in a very organized manner. The selection of dishes was varied, and there were also plenty of vegetarian options – there was something for every taste. The service was excellent: drinks were served promptly, and the staff were consistently friendly and attentive. One small disappointment, however, was the handling of the leftover food. Since we had paid for the food, we asked if we could pack the leftovers – unfortunately, the staff refused. When we asked about this, they explained that the leftovers would probably be given to the police. While we appreciate it when excess food isn't simply thrown away, we would have found it more beneficial if it were donated to a charitable organization or to those in need. Police officers can usually afford their own food.

We went to the asparagus buffet for the first time, but definitely not the last. The selection is gigantic, and there's even something for vegetarians besides salad. Super extensive and delicious! It's definitely good value for money. The service staff is super friendly and attentive. The drinks came very quickly, and what's usually a problem everywhere wasn't the case yesterday: the used plates were cleared away super quickly. Thank you for an all-around fantastic and delicious evening! The only minor drawback was that the tables were all very close together, making it difficult to get up from your seat at times.

The asparagus buffet was once again excellent, with asparagus constantly being refilled hot and quickly, complemented by fish and meat, including vegan options. Cakes and desserts rounded off the whole experience. It's great that the next one will be scheduled soon. Thanks to the hard-working and friendly team. Even now, two years later, the quality hasn't dropped, and the prices have remained the same. Everything is always fresh and hot, and frequently refilled. I'm already looking forward to next year. Three of us were here today, and I have to say it was absolutely delicious! We all had a schnitzel and various appetizers. There were also daily specials. Everything was perfectly seasoned and delicious! All the staff were very friendly and accommodating! We'll be back!

An unforgettable evening full of romance and enjoyment! We had the great pleasure of enjoying a candle light dinner in this wonderful restaurant and it was simply amazing! The atmosphere was incredibly romantic. The menu was a culinary highlight. Each course was not only a delight for the palate, but also beautifully presented. This candle light dinner was a real experience for us and will be remembered for a long time. We would highly recommend it to any couple who wants to treat themselves to something special. We'll definitely be back!

Yesterday we buried the mother of a dear friend. And then we went to the Oelckenthurm. The soup, sandwiches and cake, everything was very tasty. The staff was very friendly and helpful. And the toilets very clean. The relatives also liked it there.

I celebrated my birthday here with about 30 guests. Everything was planned and discussed in no time. The celebration went like clockwork. The food was great (as always) and the service was attentive, friendly and warm. I and my guests were completely satisfied. Unreserved recommendation.

I received this, here is my personal comment: After the meal, the lady actually just wanted to get it for free and understandably failed. I ate a Braumeisterschnitzel there myself last night. It was right on point and perfectly seasoned. Tastes are different, of course, but the Ölckenthurm really suits mine. And the service? I go there often and have always found it to be fast, professional, extremely friendly and guest-oriented. At the end, my personal tip: Just stop by for yourself and simply enjoy the overall hospitable package!

Ambiance is very nice. However, that was it. Unfortunately the food wasn't OK unless you like almost raw pork schnitzel. I have never experienced the way in which customers are treated with a food complaint. You were even portrayed as a liar afterwards. There was no understanding or coming to an end. Absolutely not recommended.

Unfortunately the food in general was too salty. Unfortunately, the schnitzel wasn't completely cooked through and even after a comment, it wasn't fixed. Unfortunately, the nice criticism was not taken seriously at all. On the contrary, the staff became very loud and unfortunately didn't see it at all. That's why you have to say it's definitely not worth a visit and it's a shame to see how rude people there are.

NO GO! I called there for the third time today to reserve a table for the next possible free day. The unfriendly employee then told me the same sentence as last week... she just didn't have time to see when something was available... strange that they then answer the phone. When I told her that I was calling for the third time and just wanted to reserve a table for the next possible day, she cheekily said that I should name a date like normal people. Absolutely impudent, she still didn't give me a table!

Unfortunately, my experience with the Ölkenthurm was disappointing. The reservation did not go as expected - the telephone reservation was not even accepted after calling 3 times within 3 weeks. “You wouldn’t have time to accept a reservation.” The staff was very unfriendly on the phone and seemed to have little interest in finding a solution. Instead of helping us, the situation was dismissed. Such experiences are particularly annoying when you are looking forward to a pleasant visit. I hope the company works on communication and customer service to better serve and, above all, value future guests.” My family and I will no longer visit the restaurant because there are competitors in Unna who do it better.

We were there on Friday as part of a company event and were thrilled! The food was incredibly delicious and the entire team was super friendly and attentive. An all-round successful experience – we would love to come back! 😊🍽️

We followed a spontaneous invitation from friends to Unna and were in this hospitable restaurant for the first time. The service was very warm and knowledgeable and the menus were delicious. You can't get fish on your plate tastier! It was a wonderful evening and we will definitely come back. The journey from Hagen is also worth it!

Wow, wow!!! Outstanding gastronomic experience in the Ölckenthurm Unna! Yesterday I had the pleasure of dining at the Ölckenthurm restaurant in Unna and I absolutely loved it! The service was first class right from the start – attentive, warm and professional. As a guest you really feel welcome and well looked after here. The absolute highlight, however, was the entrecôte that I ordered. Cooked to perfection, of excellent quality and incredibly aromatic – a real treat! The side dishes were also excellently coordinated and rounded off the taste experience perfectly. The price-performance ratio is also more than fair here. For the quality of the food and the excellent service, you really get an exceptional amount here. I can fully recommend the Ölckenthurm and am already looking forward to my next visit!

After a long, long time I was drawn to the Ölckenturm again and what can I say, I was extremely pleasantly surprised! The vegetarian schnitzel was absolutely delicious, one of the best I've eaten in a long time. The salad was also plentiful and the wine was very good. Our service staff was very friendly and accommodating. In my opinion, the decoration could be modernized a bit, but you sit together in a cozy atmosphere. I'll be back! :)
