We chose the Ölkenthurm for dinner after our son's baptism. The tower room was reserved for us and we are still thrilled. The food was simply great, the prices were totally fair, the service was so friendly and attentive. We are still raving about it and are happy that we spent the great day there. Thanks to the entire team for your great work. Gladly again!!!!

We celebrated our son's dream wedding there! It was a beautiful ambience, lovingly decorated, a very exquisite buffet and excellent service. We felt very comfortable and had a fantastic celebration!

Update July 24: We celebrated our wedding here and only received positive feedback from the guests. Everyone was absolutely blown away by the tower room, the warm service and the fantastic food. Absolute recommendation! By the way, we were allowed to put up the decorations ourselves and our decoration lady set everything up in the morning. We had a great dinner here with great service and delicious food. We are also planning to celebrate our wedding here in the tower room in the summer. I can only recommend reserving a table. When we spontaneously wanted to come on Sunday evening, we unfortunately couldn't eat there.

This restaurant is really great! Were there yesterday with a small wedding party and really no matter what it was: the food was on point! We were a few vegetarians and usually the best thing German restaurants can come up with is to leave out the meat and make some kind of vegetable mix. Here, however, in addition to the veggie dishes, it felt like every normal meat dish was also available as a veggie alternative (with a GOOD meat substitute!). The portions are huge, the (fantastic!) crème brûlée only barely fit in. The whole restaurant is clean and tidy. Nice beer garden! And last but not least, the staff: They asked about us about every 10 minutes, fulfilled every wish (whether gluten-free or something else) and answered the request to take a photo of us with a real "photo session". Totally nice, humorous people with whom you can joke and chat without it being "fake-friendly". I think this was last seen in this form somewhere in Germany in 1990!😂 By the way, this isn't a sponsored post, in case anyone gets the idea, but rather an honestly enthusiastic review for an extremely good restaurant. We were there for dinner on a Sunday evening with a total of 6 adults and a 4 year old child. There is something for every taste, we didn't wait long, the portions are generous, the atmosphere is great and the staff are incredibly friendly. There is an extra children's menu and the selection here is really great. You had the feeling that even little guests were welcomed and weren't perceived as annoying or too loud, as is so often the case. We'll definitely be back!

As soon as you enter the restaurant, you will be warmly greeted by the staff and, if time permits, by the boss. As soon as you have been shown to the designated place, you can relax and enjoy the pleasant atmosphere and concentrate on the food and drink menu. All the dishes on offer sound tasty and so far I haven't been disappointed with the cuisine. From the greetings from the kitchen to the starter and the main course and finally the dessert, the dishes were well prepared and above average in terms of taste. I can therefore recommend the restaurant with a clear conscience.

I celebrated our wedding anniversary here with my wife. We had a candlelight dinner. The food was excellent, the service was absolutely top notch and when the bill came I was pleasantly surprised. I can recommend all husbands to eat here with their wives. It's a unique experience.

I bought a voucher for a candlelight dinner. I have never seen such a beautiful, lovingly designed voucher. Now I'm really excited about the food. Now I finally ate there and it was fantastic. The restaurant is awesome: it is very lovingly and elegantly furnished. The tower room where we had the candlelight dinner is like from another time. The food is excellent and wonderfully arranged. My tips for the tower room: 1.the ideal place for a marriage proposal 2. Take a jacket with you, as it is a bit cold due to the thick walls (but fan heaters are used in winter) 3. Don't skimp on tips as the service is very professional, discreet and friendly. It wasn't the last time I was there.

We were there today for the candlelight dinner and it was great. The ambience was great, the ladies in service were super friendly & attentive & the food was incredibly tasty. Definitely recommended & we will do it again.

We discovered the Ölckenthurm many years ago through a voucher book and were immediately impressed by the ambience, the good quality and the reasonable price-performance ratio. The selection offers something for every taste and there are also offers for those who abstain from meat. Since discovering the Ölckenthurm, we have celebrated several family celebrations there and both young and old are consistently satisfied. Last week we celebrated our son's confirmation there and all the agreements made in advance were implemented exactly as discussed. We were lucky enough to get the tower room, which was met with great enthusiasm by the guests. This celebration was also carried out perfectly. About the food: everything is very tasty and you get reasonable value for the money. You will definitely feel full and the dishes are very tasty. The staff is always concerned about the well-being of the guests. I would particularly like to highlight a female service worker whose name we don't know, but who has always caught our eye in a positive way because of her interaction with the guests and who you can tell is that she "lives" her job. Having such a service person is an absolute asset for a restaurant. I think the Ölckenthurm knows who is meant. 5 stars for the restaurant, the ambience, the service staff and the quality and quantity of the food.

From A to Z everything was exceptionally good. We recommend!

We got a completely over-salted fillet steak, a pure pot of salt. Return and complaint failed because 2 pieces were cut off and eaten. If a third of the dish has been eaten, no return is possible, according to the Ölkenturm employee. This in the lucrative Christmas business does not show any goodwill, but rather shows the greed of making quick money, no matter who is sitting there. Never again for me at Ölkenturm.

There were three of us there with my grandma. My grandma's schnitzel and asparagus were great. The potatoes were just strangely seasoned and didn't really taste like potatoes anymore. My pike perch with broccoli was very good in itself, but a bit too salty. My husband had rump steak with onions and fried potatoes and was extremely dissatisfied. OK. Can happen. What was quite unpleasant was that it was really very cold there. It was definitely great for the waitresses, because it was really packed there (Thursday evening), which speaks highly of the restaurant. The waitresses ran like crazy and were always very friendly. There is nothing to complain about. It's just a shame that we had to warm up in the car afterwards. Unfortunately no second visit.

Always an experience. We live in the Netherlands and like to come every month. And the sauerbraten or the pork cheeks are my favorite food.

The food was great as always. The asparagus was A1! The service can't be beat, great. I'm already looking forward to the asparagus buffet, which I've reserved twice. Completely forgot...the dessert - fresh strawberries, vanilla ice cream and cream - a dream. Again and again!!!

Last night we ate in Ölckenturm for the last time. The food was great, as always. Unfortunately the service has been disastrous (with one exception). We weren't even sitting at the table when two waiters came one after the other to ask what we would like to drink. We hadn't received a menu yet, how should we choose drinks? We ordered 1 bottle of wine, 2 glasses of wine were brought. Then the bottle we ordered arrived and was simply left unopened on the table without comment. We had just finished eating so we should immediately decide which dessert we would like. We pointed out that we still had 1/3 bottle of wine to drink and needed time to do it. Then we ordered the desserts and 1 espresso macchiato and 1 cappuccino. We got 1 espresso and a cappuccino that spilled over the cup, the saucer was full. A waiter kept coming by and asking if he could put away the glass that had just been emptied. We felt rushed and at 8:30 p.m. we left the restaurant in exasperation. We have brought several friends and acquaintances here and praised the place. Unfortunately we can no longer do that even though the food is very good. A pity!

We were able to enjoy the excellent Easter buffet with 7 people. My guests and I were thrilled by the selection and delicious preparation, as well as the service. It couldn't be better. The price was more than reasonable. We would have paid more for that. It was constantly refilled and the ingredients were of the finest quality. Thank you very much, we will be back.

From the warm atmosphere to the excellent food and service, my stay at Ölckenthurm was absolutely first class. The staff was extremely attentive and friendly, and the food in the restaurant was great. The holiday apartment offered a cozy atmosphere that immediately made you feel at home. Overall, I can highly recommend both the restaurant and the holiday apartment and look forward to coming back soon!

You won't be disappointed here. Quality of the food matches the slightly higher prices. Service very friendly. Ambience a bit staid, you have to like it. But the food makes you forget it quickly. Always my pleasure.

My partner and I went there for Valentine's Day last week. There was a Valentine's menu with a buffet. Everything was beautifully decorated with candles and rose petals. As always, the food was delicious, the atmosphere was very cozy and the staff were very friendly. We were very satisfied.

Wir waren am 2. Weihnachtstag mit der Familie hier Essen. Das Buffet war super, für jeden ist was dabei gewesen. Service wie immer Top. Haben schon fürs nächste Jahr wieder einen Tisch gebucht.

Das war gestern ein hervorragendes Weihnachtsessen mit einem super Service, vielen Dank, sowohl das Menü mit vielen Speisen und das hervorragende vielfältige Dessert ließen nicht zu wünschen übrig, zudem stimmte der Service super, wir haben uns richtig wohl gefühlt und eine schöne Familienfeier gehabt, vielen Dank an das gesamte Team und weiter so , normalerweise 6 Sterne von 5👏🏻🤩👍

Im Jahr 1994 wechselten meine damalige Freundin und ich in die Gürtelstraße, ca. 300 m vom Lokal entfernt, und waren gelegengtlich im Ölckenturm. 1996 feierten wir dort die Geburt meiner ersten Tochter und den 60. Geburtstag meiner Mutter; am 17.12.23 war ich dort, ich hatte 60. Geburtstag, mit inzwischen meiner Ex-Frau und zwei meiner Kinder essen. Diese Informtionen hatte auch das Lokal, aber nicht einmal zum Geburtstag wurde mir gratuliert. Ich gebe wohlwollende, weihnachtliche Vier-Sterne, Preis-Leistung fünf Sterne, aber nächstes Jahr droht je die Anhebung der Mehrwert-Steuer und dann wird man sehen. Fazit: Es war ok, es gibt aber für mich keinen Grund, wieder zu kommen. Trotzdem, alles Gute für Sie 2024! PS: Ich hatte mir die Berner Pfanne mit Beilagen, vorher Zwiebelsuppe zum Gedanken an meine Mutter, bestellt, leider war ich dann zu satt für einen Nachtisch :-), meine Familie hielt sich überraschend zurück, warum auch immer.

Wir haben unsere standesamtliche Hochzeit im Ölckenthurm gefeiert. Vom Ambiente übers Essen bis hin zum Service war alles perfekt. Ein besonderes Dankeschön an Frau Baumgartner und die Mitarbeiterin Jenny, die den Abend perfekt gemacht haben. Wir hatten am Ende des Abends so viel zu Essen, dass wir noch viel mit nach Hause nehmen konnten. Das Essen war genau auf den Punkt und hat perfekt zum Anlass gepasst. Immer wieder lecker, tolles Ambiente und bester Service.

Das Restaurant Ölckenthurm hat auf einer Veranstaltung das Büfett geliefert. Neben Fisch, Fleisch etc. wurden auch vegane Speisen angeboten, was wir als Veganer sehr zu schätzen wussten. Über die Auswahl an veganen Speisen waren wir angenehm überrascht. Und das Beste zum Schluss: Es war grandios lecker. Sehr zu empfehlen! Alle Daumen hoch!
