Gepflegtes stielvolles Ambiente, ein mediterraner Innenhof mit alten Olivenbäumen, ausgezeichnete Küche und ein sehr aufmerksames Personal. Fazit: Ein rundum tolles Gesamtpaket was wir zu unserem 24. Hochzeitstag sehr genossen haben. Wir können es uneingeschränkt sehr empfehlen!

Mehr als nur ein Restaurant. Schon beim eintreten wird man herzlich empfangen . Der Service ist aussergewöhnlich gut, man wird den ganzen Abend von einer Person begleitet. Kein durcheinander, keine Hektik, hochprofessionell wird jeder Wunsch erfüllt. Und über das Essen kann ich nur sagen, was das Auge verspricht übertrifft der Gaumen bei weitem. Wir waren vor Kurzem im Mühlstein essen und waren zunächst begeistert: Die Speisen waren qualitativ sehr hochwertig, geschmacklich hervorragend und ansprechend präsentiert – genau das, was man in dieser Preisklasse erwartet. Leider wurde dieser positive Eindruck durch den Service deutlich getrübt. Der zuständige Kellner trat während des gesamten Abends unfreundlich, teilweise herablassend und wenig professionell auf. Wir wurden kein einziges Mal gefragt, ob alles zu unserer Zufriedenheit ist. Bei Rückfragen reagierte er belehrend und wenig serviceorientiert – beispielsweise beim Thema Gargrad des Fleisches, wo er uns demonstrativ und belehrend auf die Karte verwies und diese vorlas. Besonders enttäuschend ist jedoch der Umgang mit unserem Feedback im Nachgang. Statt auf die konkreten Punkte einzugehen, wurde unsere Schilderung relativiert und die Situation aus Sicht des Teams anders dargestellt. Eine echte Auseinandersetzung mit der Kritik oder ein erkennbares Interesse an Verbesserung war für uns nicht erkennbar. Schade, denn Küche und Ambiente haben definitiv Potenzial. In dieser Preisklasse erwarten wir jedoch nicht nur exzellentes Essen, sondern auch einen respektvollen und aufmerksamen Service sowie einen professionellen Umgang mit Kritik.

Wir waren mit 9 Personen und Hund zum Weihnachtsessen. Selten wurden wir so freundlich und herzlich bedient. Sogar auf die Extrawünsche der Kinder wurde eingegangen. Das Essen war köstlich. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Nine of us were here on Easter Sunday to celebrate my father's birthday. The ambience is really very nice, very elegant and yet very cozy. The rooms appear rather private thanks to the many beautiful works of art and accessories. You can feel a lot of attention to detail. The service staff is extremely professional without appearing reserved. On the contrary, we all felt extremely comfortable and found this genuinely friendly attention very pleasant. The food was the finest! A 3-course menu, of the highest quality, a feast for the eyes and the palate, everyone of us was thrilled. We will definitely come back!

The Mühlstein restaurant is an impressive building. Lovingly restored with a wonderfully winding room layout. This time we sat at the top of the gallery, which I personally liked better than downstairs. I was satisfied with the service, but the final touch of “hospitality” was missing. As a starter I had a deer carpaccio. The meat was of good quality, the garnishes were loving and well balanced in terms of taste. The duck was my main course choice. Crispy skin, tender meat, spicy jus - that's how duck should be. The only drawback: A little more side dish (preferably at the expense of some meat) would have been desirable. In particular, you had to actively look for the very tasty pointed cabbage. A lovely evening and I will happily return :).

What an experience! It's rare to experience a kitchen that puts so much effort into it - from the starters to the main courses to the dessert, everything was simply fantastic. I really can't fault anything. The taste? Absolutely outstanding. The service? Professional, helpful and attentive in every respect - be it with questions, special requests or just with a friendly manner. This restaurant is not just a place to grab a quick bite to eat. You will be impressed here! The dishes are creative, bold and yet perfectly executed. I'll definitely come back. In terms of price, the restaurant is in a fair, upscale, but not overly expensive category - and that makes the visit even nicer. If you value quality, taste and an all-round harmonious experience, you should definitely stop by here!

Very nice restaurant with a half-timbered atmosphere. Relatively “clear” menu, but very high quality food. Pleasant and qualified service. We were there as a group, 9 adults and one child. Dishes were served to everyone virtually at the same time! Good wine list. I recommend a visit! Don't forget to reserve!

We've been eating at Mühlstein every now and then for a long time. The food and service are always great, the ambience is great too.

Un très bel endroit qui a du cachet. La cuisine se veut sophistiquée mais jusque ce qu'il faut pour sortir des sentiers battus sans prendre trop de risque. Les assiettes sont belles et plutôt généreuses. Il manque toutefois un petit quelque chose pour vraiment se démarquer et certains accompagnements étaient un peu trop basiques. On sent tout de même un certain effort et certaines saveurs valaient la visite. Une mention particulière pour les entrées qui étaient bien travaillées. Nous avons mangé à l'étage, très bien installés. Le service est parfait.

I have often eaten at the Mühlstein Restaurant on special occasions. Regardless of whether it's indoors in winter or in the beautiful courtyard in summer, it's a lovely atmosphere. The tables are very well positioned and not "densely" crowded. The menu is not very large, which is right, as the highest quality is absolutely important here. All of the dishes we have ordered so far have all tasted excellent. The staff is very attentive and friendly. We were now in the restaurant with a dog. They had reserved an ideal table for us, a bowl of water was available and he was greeted with a treat. For me the most beautiful restaurant in the area with an absolutely fair price/performance offer.

The Cremant aperitif traditionally opens our meal, always a very good choice. The potato truffle cappuccino was great. An appetizer the way you want it. The monkfish was a poem and the chocolate mousse was finely tuned. All we can say is keep it up. The ambience and service are perfect. We would of course be happy to come back.

An evening as a princess - that's how I felt when we were at the Mühlstein Restaurant for a business Christmas dinner. Since I am an allergy sufferer, I discussed the menu with the responsible contact person immediately upon arrival. I was served food and drinks throughout the evening, which I was able to enjoy without hesitation because my allergies were meticulously taken into account. It started when we were all served mulled wine in the courtyard. A personal 'Special Edition' was put together for me, consisting of high-quality Merlot with orange oil and other ingredients - very tasty. The food (starter, main course, dessert) was to die for! The ambience of the restaurant is beautiful; even the toilets (which were also very clean). The staff is very, very friendly, attentive, courteous, absolutely professional. This restaurant is really highly recommended. Thank you for a wonderful evening! Only the slightly older staff could smile now and then, it would look good on them ;)

Wir schwelgen noch immer in Erinnerung an einen wieder mal grandiosen Abend. Wir waren letzte Woche anlässlich mehrerer Festivitäten zum Abendessen vor Ort. Bis dato waren wir immer im Sommer da und saßen somit im Garten, aber diesmal war es uns erst im Herbst möglich. Wir wurden über die Treppe zu unserem Tisch im Obergeschoss begleitet. Dieser befand sich direkt neben der Bar, was aber nicht störte, da sehr ruhig und nicht auffallend agiert wurde. Die Karte beinhaltete diverse Menüs und a la Carte Gerichte. Da mir keines der Menüs in Gänze zusagte, entschied ich mich querbeet. So durfte es für mich aus dem Mühlsteinmenü Green der Kürbisflan (14 Euro) sein sowie aus der Standardkarte das Medaillon vom Kalbsfilet (39 Euro). Am Tisch wurden auch das Karotten-Ingwer-Süppchen mit gebratener Riesengarnele (12 Euro) und Braten aus der Rehkeule (33 Euro) gewählt. Vorab gab es einen Korb mit zweierlei Brot sowie Aufstrich. Die Vorspeisen wurden ca. 30 Minuten nach unserer Ankunft serviert, perfekt. Meine Schwiegereltern waren mehr als angetan von der Suppe, wo die Riesengarnele nicht inkludiert sondern mittels eines Holzstäbchens am Rand platziert war. Die Suppe muss köstlich gewesen sein. Mein lauwarmer Kürbisflan an Parmesan-Trüffelsauce allein war schon eine Augenweide. Das Törtchen war mit gebackenen Parmesansplittern gespickt, drum herum lagen hauchdünne Kürbisscheiben mit Kürbiskernen und Sauce. Es schmeckte köstlich. Wir baten darum, mit den Hauptspeisen etwas zu warten. Später wurden wir darauf hingewiesen, dass in Kürze mit dem Essen für eine größere Gruppe begonnen würde, dann dauert es länger. Also baten wir um den Abruf des nächsten Ganges. Auch hier wurde wieder gezaubert. Mir war vorher nicht klar, wie das Gericht, welches aus gebratenem Medaillon vom Kalbsfilet im Kräutercrêpes auf Demi-Glace, Zuckerschoten und Schupfnudeln bestand, serviert wird. Tatsächlich war das zarte und rosa gebratene Filet in einem Kräuterfladen eingewickelt und die Schupfnudeln waren in einem kleinen Nest platziert. Es schmeckte auch dieses Gericht sehr gut. Bei den Desserts enthielt ich mich und naschte von rechts und links. Rechts gab es Baumkuchenterrine mit Kastanienmousse an lauwarmen Zimt-Pflaumen (12 Euro) und links selbst hergestellte Dubai Schokolade, welche aus Vollmilch Schokolade gefüllt mit Engelshaar, Pistazie und Sesam an Pistazieneis (16 Euro) bestand. Beides ein Gedicht. Der Service war sehr zuvorkommend und freundlich. Schön empfand ich auch, dass kleine Flaschen Wein angeboten wurden. So war es kein Problem, unterschiedliche Weine zu ordern. Der Abend war wieder ein Volltreffer für ein Familientreffen.

Wir kommen schon seit Jahren in das Restaurant Mühlstein. Leider, aufgrund der sehr weiten Entfernung von München, viel zu selten. Meistens zu Familienfeierlichkeiten im schönen Sommergarten. Jetzt zum ersten Mal im Innenbereich. Wir sassen im ersten Stock an einem schönen runden Tisch zu viert. Das Ambiente war auch hier sehr schön, gute Abstände zu den Nachbarn, sichern die Privatsphäre und machen den Lärmpegel angenehm. Der Service war auch sehr aufmerksam und Sympathisch. Leere Gläser wurden immer nachgeschenkt, wir mussten uns um nichts kümmern, ausser sich für ein Gericht aus der leckeren Speisekarten zu entscheiden. Erwähnenswert ist auch die Weinkarte, da stehen interessant Tropen drin, die es sonst nicht überall gibt. Wie z. B Roséweine vom Chateau d'Esclans oder Amarone von Santa Sofia. Wir entschieden uns für je eine Flasche von beidem und nahmen den Rest des Rotweins später mit. Auch das Essen konnte vollends überzeugen. Ich entschied mich für den kaltgeräucherten Lachsrücken und als Hauptgang für den Braten aus der Rehkeule. Beides war vorzüglich und vor allem auch optisch ein Gedicht. Zum Nachtisch sollte es für mich die aktuell getypte Dubai Schokolade sein, im Mühlstein selbstgemacht mit Pistazieneis. Wir verließen rundum zufrieden das Lokal nach gut 3 Stunden. Auf dem Heimweg sinnierten wir, dass wir noch nie enttäuscht wurden und das auf das Mühlstein einfach Verlass für einen schönen Abend ist. Wir planten schon den nächsten Besuch, diesmal wieder im Sommergarten in 2025

The first-class service is just as attentive and warm as back then, you just feel completely comfortable. The winter menu and all other dishes are not only a visual highlight, but also taste of the highest level - every detail is perfect. It's nice to see that the quality and passion have remained constant here. We would definitely like to come back and can only warmly recommend this restaurant!

Very good service, unobtrusive but always there. Food was also very good. The ambience was nice, we sat upstairs on the balcony and it was a bit loud from time to time. But that didn't really bother us.

One of the better gastro restaurants in the area. Very good fresh ingredients for creative recipes from the local cuisine. Someone knows their craft. The wine list is worthy of a restaurant on Bergstrasse, and the service is very friendly, attentive and professional. The red wine is decanted. We always enjoy coming here. In summer you can sit outside and admire the mighty hydrangeas.

Excellent food in a renovated half-timbered house. Courteous staff, great wines and food close to Michelin standards.

We are actually very happy here. On our last visit there were small deviations from the usual norm. The fish was served very dry, which was accepted by the service but was poorly implemented. After the person eating fish gave up a free dessert from the house, this was not given to any other participants in the round table. We thought that was a shame and would have been happy to see a little more generosity from the hosts. It should also be noted that the porcini mushroom parfait with Mouse au Chocolate didn't really contain any porcini mushroom flavors. With an invoice amount of almost €400.00 we would have found this to be reasonable.

The Mühlstein restaurant is located in a very beautiful historic property on the outskirts of the town of Bensheim. The interior is chic-modern, which goes very well with the old walls and rooms. The kitchen is modern and upscale-ambitious with very good quality. Examples during our visit were the lemongrass coconut soup with pak choi ravioli or the pop corn crème brûlée with vanilla ice cream, both very well done and very tasty. The prices for the food are absolutely reasonable. The service was very courteous, professionally competent and appropriately relaxed, so that you always felt very comfortable. The wine list was extensive and fairly priced. All in all, a very nice restaurant that we would happily visit again at any time.

A successful evening. Not a restaurant for everyday life. More for special occasions. Such as birthday, business dinner or other lovely special occasions. Yes, very expensive. This is the only place where the price-performance ratio is right. Yes, there were one or two little things. Like that one dish had too much salt in the sauce or the salad dressing was slightly acidic. Overall, all the food was good. The desserts are particularly noteworthy. Many, too many, restaurants are failing here. It wasn't the case here. Super successful conclusion. You just have to try the desserts. Conclusion: Yes, it cost money. It's better to go out to eat like this and treat yourself to something like this than to always pay attention to the price and not the quality. A recommendation for a special day in your life!
