Das Restaurant ist in einem Gebäude das aus 1840 stammt. Viele Sachen sind sehr alt und haben einen tollen Flair. Das Restaurant war sehr gut besucht, unbedingt vorab reservieren. Das Essen wurde schön präsentiert und hat lecker geschmeckt. Unbedingt erwähnenswert ist auch das nette Personal. WIr werden garantiert, weitere Besuche einplanen.

Immer wieder ein Genuß. Trotz des immer sehr gut besuchten Lokals ist die Qualität und die Auswahl ungewöhnlich gut besonders weil es kein 0815 Angebot wie sonst üblich in anderen deutschen Lokalen ist sondern besonders. Sehr sehr gutes Personal immer sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Einziger Wermutstropfen ist für uns daß die Hauptspeise immer sofort auf die Vorspeise folgt statt eine kleine Pause zu machen was ja bei mehreren Gängen üblich ist. Als ich nach der Vorspeise zur Toilette musste und zurück kam stand mein Essen schon da. Mag sein dass es der Doppelbelegung aufgrund der stets ausgebuchten Tische geschuldet ist. Aber wenn ich essen gehe besonders in so einem gemütlichen Lokal und auch nicht wenig Geld dafür ausgebe dann möchte ich nicht nach nicht mal einer Stunde wieder fertig sein. Dafür besucht man ja so ein schönes Lokal gerade weil ich selbst gerne und gut koche. Aber wenn wir dann essen gehen dann wollen wir das Lokal und das Essen eben auch genießen und geht nicht in einen Fast food. Wir sind die Generation slow food.

The food is very good, no matter when we were there - always good. The portions are large. There is often a lack of salt on the tables, which you can get on request. You have to like the decor, but it's cult and not uncomfortable. Only the parking situation deters more frequent visits, even though there are public parking spaces nearby.

We were there for dinner. Reservation recommended. We had beef fillet, which was extremely well fried. The half chickens were juicy and the skin was crispy. Cooked cheese was 10/10. The food is always amazing and you won't be disappointed. The service is friendly and attentive. I love the ambience very much. Definitely come here people.

First of all, I have to mention that we had quite high expectations of this restaurant, as it was fully booked several times on the weekend before today's visit. We also knew that we only reserved one slot from 5:30-7:00 p.m. At the beginning everything went quite normally, the drinks and appetizers were at the table quickly and tasted okay. Unfortunately, my steak was not only cooked beyond medium-rare, but also completely unevenly. I would have liked to speak to the service, but they didn't come to our table for over half an hour until it was just before 7 p.m. to tell us in no uncertain terms that we now had to pay and leave. At this point the plates were still on the table. No chance for a conversation, dessert or anything like that because the next customers were already waiting. I can't remember ever being treated like that in a restaurant. It's certainly within my imagination that an evening here could be more pleasant, but unfortunately for us the stay bordered on a total failure.

Die Atmosphäre im Aff ist immer wieder schön. Das Essen kommt wie immer super schnell. Das Rumpsteak ist einfach der Hammer. Das Kochkäseschnitzel ist ebenfalls sensationell.

Regular guest for 15 years. Always attentive and friendly service. Marginal pricing policy and fluctuating quality and portion size (e.g. hand cheese, chicken). Air quality in the smoking area is unacceptable, clothes can go straight to the dry cleaners but it is one of the most beautiful places in the restaurant. Why for smokers???

We came here with several people based on an invitation and it was an excellent meal with rustic dishes. The atmosphere is appropriate and every table is occupied, which, at least for me, is always a good sign. The visit was definitely worth it 👍

We always enjoyed going to the blue monkey. However, our last visit was disappointing. We had a time slot of 1.45 hours. I find these slots strange, but I consciously accepted them for this evening. Now I have to ask myself what position the guest has if we want to order espresso at 7:30 p.m. and are asked if we can do it by 7:45 p.m. Please how???? To say the least, this is a disgrace and shows where you stand as a guest. Namely, come, eat, pay and get out. The food at the Blauer Aff is good, not outstanding. If you're still treated like that, well. And fortunately we have the freedom to say: future visits? No thanks.

Very nice and good restaurant with a small and very good selection of dishes at fair prices. The selection of open wines is sufficient (for me ;-) and good. A look into the kitchen from the hallway is possible and creates trust. The service was quick and very good; special requests and changes were addressed promptly and in a friendly manner. The portions were more than sufficient, tasty and visually well presented. I'll be back for sure as soon as possible, thank you very much! I have nothing to add this time either!

I really like it in the Blauer Aff. The food was and is always good for me. Unfortunately, a very smelly dog ​​came into the guest room. That spoiled my meal a little. The heat and the tightness made the whole thing intensified. Too bad! Therefore 2 stars deducted.

The Blauer Aff is undoubtedly one of the best culinary restaurants in Hess. Bergstrasse has to offer. The service is friendly and accommodating. In particular, the rump steak Selection Blauer Aff is always cooked to perfection and very tasty!

We ate there with a child (3 years old), the service was on point and super friendly! There were also no unpleasant, intrusive questions about other drink requests. The food was great and it was served hot. The kitchen and service also responded very well to our 3 year old's special request. The ambience is absolutely beautiful, rustic but very romantic and lovingly furnished. It wasn't the last time we've been to the "blauen aff" and we're happy to recommend the restaurant.

Cozy restaurant. Service was a bit disorientated, but in the end everyone had what they ordered and the food was good :-) Solid pub cuisine. The rump stick was large and cooked to the desired degree of doneness. There was just as little to complain about with the schnitzel as there was with the chicken or salad and sheep's cheese. The plates should have been cleared sooner, and a query after the main course as to whether a dessert or a drink was desired was somehow missing.

We have been coming with great enthusiasm for years now! It's so cozy, the food is consistently delicious and the service is very friendly and on the ball. We always go out and have a great evening. So it's not surprising that you should make a reservation in advance, as the monkey is always busy. We are already looking forward to the next time!

We had dinner there on a weekday. I had a really excellent tuna that was baked with a sesame crust. Unfortunately the mashed potatoes were only the green color of wasabi. You couldn't taste wasabi. The salmon tartare with rösti can also be recommended. My Pfungstädter Pils in an ice-cold clay mug was also excellent. For dessert, the classic creme brulee served was convincing. The Mouse au Chocolat wasn't that good. It lacked fluffiness. Overall, a highly recommended restaurant.

Wir waren heute zu zweit im blauen Aff . Ich liebe das Ambiente dort sehr . Die Bedienung ist sehr freundlich und das Essen war gut. Der Nachtisch war leider sehr enttäuschend das Schokoküchlein war kalt und fest und die Mousse au chocolat waren gefrorene Eiskugeln. Echt jetzt ich war so enttäuscht ich liebe Mousse au chocolat und habe diese auch schon oft dort gegessen, aber diese Kreation hat wirklich nichts mit einer Mousse au chocolat zu tun. Unsere Reklamation was denn mit der Mousse au chocolat passiert ist wurde mit einem Schulterzucken 🤷 beantwortet Sehr Schade bei einer Rechnung von 110€ bei 2 Personen.

We have been guests at the Blauer Aff since 2009. Everything always fits absolutely perfectly. Quality and variety of food, fantastic, friendly, fast service, very good wine selection, absolutely cozy atmosphere, ... always TOP!

Wir waren 10 Personen und gleich um 17.30 dort. Es hat alles hervorragend geklappt und das Essen kam für alle gleichzeitig. Bedienung war auch sehr nett und aufmerksam. Wir gehen nächstes Jahr wieder zum Weihnachtsessen in den Blauen Aff.

Unfortunately, the quality of the classic dish, half a chicken, is getting worse and the cucumber salad should be avoided. Constructive feedback is met with silence. Past success is the enemy of future success.

Very cozy and rustic atmosphere. The old half-timbered house is multi-story and has really nice corners. This creates a really cozy atmosphere and it doesn't get too loud, even when the restaurant is full. We were there on December 25th. there for a family dinner. We reserved a table for 5 p.m. and were assigned it straight away. The waitresses were very attentive and quick. All special requests were no problem. We had different dishes at the table. Including cooked cheese schnitzel, lamb's lettuce, sheep's cheese, potato soup, pumpkin soup, chips with herb quark. We were all very satisfied. When the Christmas season is over, the "tinsel" in the corners should just be taken down :-)) Otherwise there was nothing to complain about

Great, great, great. We had the goose and the Cesar's salad with roast beef from the season menu. Absolute recommendation. Very tasty and fair prices. Anyone who likes honest food will love the Blue Monkey. Special praise goes to the service staff 👍🏻😃

A great atmosphere and excellent service keep us coming back again and again. The food is excellent and the price-performance ratio is also very good. My request to get a table in the front area was taken into account when making the reservation. So we were able to spend a great evening in the cozy part of the restaurant with my 85-year-old mother - without having to climb many steps. Many thanks to the whole team!

The food (venison) was good but the price was too high, almost €40 for the minimum portion of meat. The service was quite chaotic and desserts had to wait 20 minutes for two guests to get their dessert.

There was a brief technical problem with the orderman when paying. The food was very good and the kitchen worked super quickly! The price is absolutely okay given the very good performance.

Full house, but the waitresses are friendly and competent. The food was very tasty, we enjoyed it. There were 10 people there and everyone got their food at once. Will come back.

We went to Aff's with a group of almost 40 people to eat goose. Restaurant manager Ante provided very good food and the portions were more than sufficient! Franzi's service was excellent, so the place got a star - we will be back at our annual culinary event across Germany! Keep it up!

Das Restaurant in der Altstadt von Bensheim Auerbach fällt schon von außen durch seine blaue Fassade ins Auge. Drinnen erwartet einen ein uriges und gemütliches Ambiente mit einer charmanten Mischung aus alter Fachwerkstruktur, niedrigen Decken und viel Holz. Die spezielle Tapete unterstreicht den nostalgischen Charakter und vermittelt das Gefühl, eine kleine Zeitreise in die Vergangenheit zu machen. Der Service ist ausgesprochen freundlich und aufmerksam. Das Personal sorgt dafür, dass man sich rundum wohlfühlt, und die Bedienung ist zügig und professionell. Kulinarisch bietet das Restaurant viel: Mein Kalbschnitzel war hervorragend paniert, dazu perfekt zubereitete Bratkartoffeln – eine Kombination, die ohne Sauce auskommt und dennoch harmonisch abgestimmt ist. Der Salat als Vorspeise war solide, hätte aber etwas kreativer sein können. Der Nachtisch hingegen überzeugte auf ganzer Linie: Das Schokoladenküchlein mit flüssigem Kern war nicht nur geschmacklich ein Highlight, sondern auch optisch ansprechend, dank der Obstdeko. Auch die Hauptspeisen meiner Begleitung – große, frische Salate – waren sehr üppig und ansprechend serviert. Preislich ist das Restaurant absolut angemessen. Das stimmige Gesamtpaket aus Ambiente, Service und hochwertigem Essen rechtfertigt jeden Cent. Ob mit der Familie, als Paar oder bei einem Geschäftsessen – dieses Restaurant ist eine klare Empfehlung.

Leider hat diese bekannte Location, was das Essen angeht, arg verloren. Ich habe, nach längere Zeit mal wieder dort, das Kochkäseschnitzel bestellt und kann, sagen, dass es sehr langweilig war. Die Bratkartoffeln sahen zwar gut aus, stellten sich dann aber als fad und matschig heraus. Das Schnitzel war ebenso langweilig. Dicke Panade, kein wirklicher Geschmack - auch der Kochkäse war nichts besonderes. Das Essen von meiner Begleitung, der Thunfisch mit blumigem Titel, war ebenso nichts besonderes. Du besten Zeiten des Blauen Affen sind lange vorüber. Die Atmosphäre aber bleibt wunderbar.

The blue monkey is awesome. Great wines from the region. The furnishings are very cozy without being kitschy. In the barn, in the courtyard and in the front of the room, a little different everywhere. The very young staff are always on their toes, the food is excellent, “simple” dishes from the region in the standard menu and special delicacies in the seasonal menu. If you weren't there, you missed something, honestly!

The only criticism is that it's usually really loud there.
