A thoroughly enjoyable evening. The menu is small, but offers something for everyone. The service was exceptionally courteous and attentive, even though the restaurant was packed and the staff were extremely busy. This was never noticeable. All the employees were incredibly friendly. While the prices are on the higher side, one might expect this, but I was pleasantly surprised. The only minor criticism was that, so close to Christmas, the daily menu had a very autumnal feel with lots of pumpkin and, in our opinion, not enough winter/Christmas dishes.

Cozy inn with an upscale ambience

Disappointing. We made a reservation for a large group (50) well in advance, but when we arrived at the restaurant on the reserved date, the table was not reserved.

I actually really like the Blue Monkey. The atmosphere is great, the food is solid, typically German, and everything is very inviting. However, what I find completely unacceptable is when a restaurant doesn't know what it's serving. When I asked what kind of cheese was used in the Handkäse (a type of German cheese), I only got a "no idea," and a second server didn't know either. The Handkäse tasted rather strange and not like classic Handkäse at all; it tasted more like a different cheese had been used. For a restaurant serving traditional dishes, this is disappointing. There's definitely room for improvement when it comes to knowledge about their own products.

It was our first time there. We'll definitely be back.

You can sit comfortably in the “fireplace room”. Very tasty cooked cheese schnitzel, but the salad with chicken breast is also recommended. Good selection of Bergstraesser wines. A reservation is essential. Parking situation difficult.

Beautifully and charmingly decorated rooms. They offer regional dishes, which are very tasty and generous, complemented by seasonal specials. Prices are in the upper-middle range. The staff were exceptionally friendly. For smokers, there is a lovely smoking area in the winterized courtyard of the historic building. The only drawback is the somewhat difficult parking situation, so if you plan to meet in a group, it's advisable to carpool. However, this will certainly not deter us from spending another enjoyable time there.

A rustic ambiance, befitting the age of the house. Absolutely superb food. It's just a shame that dining is done in several shifts. We only had two hours for aperitif, starter, main course, dessert, espresso, and spirits. That's quite tight, and we would have preferred a longer time slot. Otherwise, top-notch.

Unfortunately, it didn't meet our expectations. We had a reservation for a larger group, but two seats were missing. The service was rather reserved; they weren't there very often. The food was average, nothing special. We ordered dessert, but it was forgotten. The ambiance was very nice, but the space was very cramped. The kitchen staff had to cross the street to get supplies. The floor on the way to the restroom was very slippery.

I had fish and salad. The salad had far too much balsamic vinegar, so you could hardly taste the salad. There was no fish knife. The service was good – it was busy, so the wait was a bit long. One dish arrived incorrectly, but it was corrected. The coffee came with cream and Hanuta (a type of Austrian chocolate bar), but no sugar. Only after asking did they ask how much coffee we had, and then they brought the appropriate amount of sugar. Overall, it wasn't bad – charming and quaint. Downstairs there's room for groups of up to six people, but it's too narrow for wheelchair users. The women's restroom is upstairs. It's popular, so reservations are recommended.

Nice restaurant, solid food, good wine list. But you have to specify that you don't want to sit in the "courtyard." Otherwise, you'll be bombarded with smoke while you eat with the roof closed. Disgusting.

I was at the restaurant today after a long break. I was looking forward to the wild herb salad. It's strange what people in the restaurant industry mean by wild herbs. Maybe I should take a course with the chef or suggest a different name, because if I order a wild herb salad, I'd at least have some in my salad. The price is quite high accordingly. I'll let the sorrel pass, but everything else? Are they wild herbs??? 🙈 Too bad.

The exquisite wine list and the home-style cuisine with regional delicacies harmonize perfectly. The seasonal offerings are particularly noteworthy. The service is attentive and competent, and the value for money is fair. Everything is just right here: from the traditional preparation to the wine selection and the cozy atmosphere. The food was good. Unfortunately, we had a really small, dry half chicken that my son didn't want to eat. Service was always friendly, despite being very busy. The ambiance is hard to describe; you probably have to experience it for yourself.

From hearty home-style cooking to sophisticated and well-thought-out dishes, they offer everything. The prices are reasonable, and the selection is extensive. I've finally found the time to review our family-run restaurant. I've been there countless times and I look forward to eating there every time. The food is outstanding, incredibly tasty, and the portions are much larger than some other restaurants. The quality is always very good, and if something isn't as it should be, it's quickly and easily rectified without any awkward arguments. My favorite dish is the Caesar salad with strips of beef. It's actually more of a steak with salad. The staff is very young, but always very friendly, courteous, and attentive. This suggests they've been well-trained. A bit more eye contact would have been good, but that's criticism at a high level. The atmosphere in this old building is rustic to cozy. We usually sit in the courtyard, which is given a special charm by the old tree. Overall, a clear recommendation!

We were there on Tuesday with a small wedding party (about 15 people including one child) and were absolutely thrilled. The food was truly delicious, the staff friendly and accommodating, and we received our dishes just 15 minutes after ordering. Every time you eat there, you're seated in a different, beautiful and rustic corner that you haven't seen before. There's always something new to see! :) It was also a very hot day (37 degrees Celsius), so we were thrilled to have the air conditioning! We'll be back, as always!

Wir kommen eigentlich gerne in den Aff. Für Familienfeier, Firmenfeier oder einfach nur zu zweit. Heute war ein Tiefpunkt der mich auch zu dieser Rezension drängt. Wir wurden öffentlich vom Chefkellner gemaßregelt dass wir uns an den richtigen Tisch setzen sollten. Woher wir das wissen sollten ? Wir dachten am richtigen Tisch zu sitzen ( seit fast einer Stunde ). Die Bedienung hätte uns also darauf hinweisen können. Dann aber gedemütigt zu werden, das haben wir nicht verdient. Wir kommen selbst aus der Gastro, geben gutes Trinkgeld und sind loyal und verständnisvoll. Heute sind wir sehr traurig aus dem Aff. Ohne Nachspeise und mit flauem Magen. Ob wir wiederkommen weiss ich nicht.

We made a reservation online, and it worked out perfectly—only our 45-minute traffic jam threw things off a bit! A quick call—no problem. Venison bratwurst with savoy cabbage, a superbly cooked steak, and the chocolate cake with berries—all a delight! The service was confident and attentive. We'd be happy to come back (on time). Keep it up! Parking directly at the hotel—zero, but free public parking is available within walking distance.

The restaurant is located in an old, winding house, and each area is decorated slightly differently, giving it its own unique charm. The tables are rather small, so it's best for groups of 4 to 6 people... The quality of the food is very good, the staff is friendly, and the prices are fair. Even during the week, it was busy, so a reservation is definitely recommended.

Actually, everything was great. The only reason I'm deducting a star is because I would appreciate a few more vegetarian dishes on the menu, and because I'm not a fan of Pfungstadt beer and would prefer a second or completely different beer.

Sehr zuvorkommender Service. Wir waren fast eine Stunde früher dort was überhaupt kein Problem war. Erst saßen wir im Innenhof und haben etwas getrunken und sind dann zum Essen an unseren Platz gegangen. Essen wie immer gut.
