Beim „Blauen Aff“ werden wir nie enttäuscht 😊 Einer der besten und vor allem auch „kultigsten“ Lokale hier im Umkreis (zumindest für uns); einfach saugemütlich, urig, 109% Wohlfühlfaktor, allesamt sehr freundlich und das Essen sehr lecker. Wir haben wieder einmal was von der Saisonkarte genommen, die regelmäßig saisonbedingt wechselt, diesmal waren es die Pfifferlinge. Tolle Gerichte, auch auf der „festen“ Speisekarte - regional, hessisch, vegan, etc., für jede/n was dabei. Wir kommen wieder, gar keine Frage, wir bleiben gerne weiterhin dem „Blauen Aff“ treu. Unbedingt Reservierung, da (fast) immer voll!

We visited this restaurant a few years ago and were eager to return. It did not disappoint. Great service. Food and drink excellent and very authentic. Reasonable price. We would return again and recommend a visit. It’s beautiful inside too

Had a few wild boar bratwursts with savoy cabbage, great. Unfortunately you have to reserve a table early otherwise it won't work.

Very quaint restaurant with delicious food; The cooked cheese schnitzel with fried potatoes and cucumber salad is highly recommended, but the half chicken is also very crispy. The waitresses are very friendly and on the go, gladly again 👍

Half the chicken is crispy and juicy... we also had bratwursts with savoy cabbage - delicious. The inner courtyard under the maple tree is really homely and special, like a little time out. Lots of young, ambitious service staff having fun together... I would have wished that the assignment of our table to the service was fixed - but that's just the icing on the cake.

super leckeres essen in sehr urigem Flair. Leider saßen wir bei warmen Wetter in einem kleinen Raum der nicht ganz so gut belüftet war, es war aber auch sehr warm draussen. Service war super freundlich, nett und vorallem sehr schnell. Hatte immer ein Auge auf die Kunden.

Unfortunately, I have to say that I can't quite understand the hype surrounding the place. The best thing by far, in my opinion, is the service. There's nothing on offer that I couldn't prepare at home without much effort, and many things are certainly even better. My schnitzel wasn't tender, the breading was full of fat. The cucumber salad lacked kick, as did the fried potatoes. I get that better even in a beer garden. My companion's RibEye steak was quite ok, although you can get a fillet steak elsewhere for the price quoted. I don't want to comment further about the supplements. My conclusion: Neither the offer nor the price is right for me. I can't recommend the place.

It was a great summer evening in the Blaue Aff, nice ambience, very tasty food and the ladies and gentlemen in service deserve an extra star for their friendliness and attentiveness. What's a little annoying is that the tables and chairs are so close together that you can hardly get in and out. Otherwise, full stars for the Blue Monkey. We have been happy to come here for years when we visit family.

Super cozy, traditional restaurant on Bergstrasse with home-style German cuisine of a very good standard. The historic half-timbered house with its rustic, cozy rooms is a well-known inn throughout the region. Reservations (especially on weekends) are mandatory. There is a regular menu with regional specialties and an additional seasonal menu. In addition to the traditional classics of traditional tavern cuisine, you should definitely try the rump steaks. 300 grams of the best beef cooked to perfection is not only an impressive sight but also makes meat lovers' hearts beat faster. A real pleasure. Very good wine list with a good selection of regional wines. The service is attentive but relaxed, friendly and fast. The price-performance ratio is still ok. The only thing that bothered us was that guests with dogs would sit down right next to us without even asking. I just don't find it pleasant to eat. It's nice that there are still places like this!

Cult restaurant in Bensheim Auerbach. Rustic half-timbered house, partly antique inside, covered courtyard, regional dishes and wines. I've known the Blue Monkey for a long time but the quality is still high.

In addition to the blue facade (yes, the name says it), what you first notice are the lovingly and very differently furnished guest rooms on the ground floor, inner courtyard and upper floor. So it's worth taking a look at all the rooms on your first visit. In addition to the furnishings, the Blauer Aff impresses with its friendly, quick service and good food. The inner courtyard, which is covered and sheltered from the wind if necessary, makes it possible to sit outside even when the weather is not quite optimal.

The best meal out I have had along the Bergstraße. Really delicious! The service was friendly and quick. In fact it was so fast it made me wonder a little whether they were keen to free up the table for a potential next customer.

I have been a frequent guest at this restaurant for many, many years and am never disappointed. I struggle with intolerances, but thanks to the great standard menu and additional current menu, I always find something tasty for myself and they also accommodate me in the kitchen if possible! The food is cooked and prepared to a high standard using fresh ingredients! Simply great to be able to be pampered in this ambience! I would love to come back! 💕👌🏼

One of the top 3 addresses in Bensheim if you want to eat well and find good wines on the menu. Price/performance is only suitable for a short time at the weekend, unfortunately it is almost always fully booked and full.

Very rustic restaurant with smart cuisine between regional Odenwald cuisine and specials with a Mediterranean flair. The food is of top quality, only surpassed by picture-perfect service. The shop was packed, but the food was on the table 15 minutes after ordering and we regularly asked whether everything was good and whether we needed anything else. It doesn't get any better. Not exactly cheap, but thanks to the above-mentioned top price-performance ratio. We'd love to come back.

The Blaue Aff in Auerbach is a traditional restaurant and always well attended. The staff here is always very friendly, attentive and there are no waiting times. When the weather is nice, you can sit in the courtyard and reservations can be made online. The food, there is a traditional menu and a seasonal menu, is very good and plentiful. We had a cooked cheese schnitzel (extra cooked cheese at no extra cost is no problem here) as well as a great rump steak of 300 gr and fried to a perfect medium. Clear recommendation.

Staff friendly. I really expected more for the money. Schnitzel probably came from the deep fryer, the sauce wasn't seasoned either or is an industrial product. Potatoes and vegetables and asparagus very soft and overcooked. Oh well . But it was an experience worth it.

Once again into memory lane… The last visit was around thirty years ago: anticipation is great! The atmosphere and furnishings seem very familiar, although kept in keeping with the spirit of the times. Reception professional, table in the courtyard fits. Menu more rustic than before, but whets the appetite. As hoped, the wine list is still full of exciting regional wines at attractive prices. Excellent! Asparagus salad with cooked ham and chopped egg and cooked ham, or egg and crayfish Huge portion with limp lettuce leaves, cut quite coarsely, sour dressing. The irregular, thin strips of ham fit quite well. The sour “billo” crab tails don’t fit. Too little egg overall for a balanced plate. Potato soup with chanterelles and bacon With a generous addition of potato cubes, chanterelles and bacon. Soup is not strained potato soup, but broth with cream. Quite good. Schnitzel with cooked cheese and fried potatoes Huge schnitzel with a large pile of unfortunately soggy fried potatoes. Schnitzel quite thick, not souffled, but very tender. The people at the next table did it right: order the Kochkäs separately in the dip; put directly on the schnitzel, it runs over the edge. Wild boar sausages with fried potatoes and savoy cabbage The bratwursts with dark “sauce” were quite firm but tasty. The chopped savoy cabbage as it should be. Fried potatoes see above… Breaded eggs with potatoes and semolina sauce Eggs and potatoes ok; the eggs would have benefited from not being quite so rock hard. Green sauce very tasty and comme il faut. Unfortunately, much of the attractive wine list mentioned at the beginning is not available. The Chardonnay-S- from Seeger that we ordered turned out to be a drinkable estate wine; the 2015 Pinot Noir Herrenwingert from Fritz Becker, served as third choice, was very pleasing. Service professional and quite friendly; Individual support is no longer necessary due to the huge crowds. Didn't quite live up to historical expectations. But if you don't push it too high, the store is fun. That's why we'd love to come back at the next opportunity. Eat benevolently 12/20

The Blue Monkey - THE institution in Bensheim - that says it all. It's always worth visiting (including the classic chicken with hot sauce).

We were there last night, April 27th. the first time in the blue monkey. There were 6 of us and I have to say that everyone was very enthusiastic about the food, atmosphere and also the service. The food was delicious and we will definitely eat there again.

Great. A really quaint, cute inn in the beautiful old town. The food was really tasty, with good beer. Service is a very small deduction because you sometimes had to wait quite a long time. But that's not a criticism of the staff themselves, it's simply due to the fact that the restaurant was quite full and I had to wait a long time for a drink. But that's not a detraction, the restaurant is definitely five stars because expectations are met and the special ambience offers something extraordinary. I would love to come back and I can only recommend everyone to stop by here.

It was another wonderful evening at the Blauer Aff. We had the cooked cheese schnitzel, the wild garlic pasta from the parmesan wheel, rump steak with fried potatoes and salmon. Unfortunately the salmon was fried too crispy for our guest. We would also have thought it would have been great if the pasta from the Parmesan wheel were prepared at the table so that you could see it.

Very cozy atmosphere, good food and very courteous staff. All in all very recommendable.

Am Ostersonntag im Blauen Aff mit der Familie war wie geplant und erwartet ein Genuss. Tolles und leckeres Essen, super hilfsbereiter und freundlicher Service, wie schon über Jahrzehnte immer eine sehr gute Wahl zu allen geplanten Ereignissen oder spontan.

As always, an excellent regional daily menu and there is often a table for spontaneous guests. The staff is young and dynamically courteous. Upscale cuisine with a traditional core!!

Had the pike perch with salad mix. Really very tasty and a pretty big portion for the price! It was truly a salad MIX, there were lots of different vegetables and also cabbage. There was also a vegetable side dish, also very tasty and recommended. To round off the feast, there was a tiramisu at the end, which had a very light but still firm consistency that was not too watery. Overall I would give my visit a solid 9.5 out of 10 food stars, would eat again and would visit again!!!

We sat indoors with 8 people and were served immediately after being seated. After we received the drinks quickly, we ordered our food and despite the restaurant being full we only had to wait about 20 minutes. Everything was served together and tasted excellent. We had several steaks, the obligatory 1/2 chicken and various schnitzels. Everything tasted great and we were all satisfied. I can only highly recommend the restaurant...

The food is usually very tasty. I have now been diagnosed with celiac disease (gluten allergy) and allergens are marked on the menu and the waitress also knew which food contained gluten. I know that eating out with gluten intolerance is very difficult, but I felt like I was in good hands here!! Note: It is best to point out the intolerance. The next time we used fried onions as decoration for an obviously gluten-free meal. :) Further recommendation: Don't sit in the courtyard. Smoking is allowed there…

Die Räumlichkeiten und der Innenhof sind mit vielen liebevollen Details ausgestattet, dass man immer wieder etwas Neues entdeckt - auch noch nach Jahren. Die Küche, die für jeden Gaumen etwas bietet, ist durchwegs lecker und gut. Der Service, wie immer freundlich und aufmerksam. Danke an das Affenteam und bis bald wieder.

There were four of us and we had a very cozy evening with delicious food. The service was quick and very attentive. The food was great and the atmosphere was extremely cozy. We'd love to come back :) You should definitely make a reservation✌🏼

We were guests there with our motorbike regulars' table. The restaurant is rustically furnished and you can see the history of the Blue Monkey in pictures. The service staff were quick, friendly and attentive. There was very little time between ordering and serving our food, even though the restaurant was full. I had a cordon bleu with fried potatoes and a side salad. Everything was freshly prepared (no frozen schnitzel) and the portion size was generous. I found the price-performance ratio to be good. I strongly recommend making reservations in advance. We really had a lovely evening and will definitely be back.
