Restaurant Montalbano - Original Italienisch Eis, Pizzeria & Restaurant in Rerik

Today on February 7th, 2025 we spontaneously surprised good friends in the restaurant and were immediately enthusiastically supported by the owner and his employees with everything we could do!!! With music, wonderful food, drinks, fireworks and and and!! Brilliant! The food was delicious and the service, as I said, was super friendly and spontaneous! Just a wonderful spontaneous evening 🫶🏻

Without warning, we arrived with 12 people around 8 p.m. on the first day of reopening... food perfect, service great... simply 10 out of 10 points. 🥰

We have been coming to Rerik for many years and always receive great service at our favorite Italian restaurant on Haffplatz and the food is always great. We can always recommend this restaurant. 5 stars in all categories.👍👍👍

Very nice staff which opened again especially for Christmas. In the short preparation time, the staff got the best out of the store, whether it was the food or the atmosphere, it was very nice, we'll be back :)

What a culinary surprise, it was a great meal at a very good price: on the recommendation of the innkeeper, we took a fish platter for 2 people (octopus, king prawns, sea bream, zander, salmon, rosemary potatoes, mixed Italian vegetables...) , excellently prepared, I have rarely eaten such delicious fish. We were also easily full. Very big recommendation! Unfortunately there was simply no room for dessert. The service was super friendly. We will definitely have Montalbano on our list for our next Baltic Sea holiday. 😀

I don't think it's serious if the menu on the website is older than 2 years and the current prices differ significantly. The pizza was expensive but good.

We like to come back to Montalbano every year during our vacation - a warm welcome is guaranteed. Last night we were guests again and it was another wonderful evening with very good food (bruschetta, pizza and spaghetti Fruti di Mare) and great service. We'd love to come back

It was a recommendation from the waiter and thank you for it. Homemade tagliatelle with Gorgonzola sauce and shrimps. Plus a dry red wine.

Inside, there are far too many tables in a small space to generate as much turnover as possible. That's why it's incredibly loud and uncomfortable. Service was motivated and cleared things up quickly, even though we were still eating. The food (especially the pizza) was really good, but cozy dining is different.

Very tasty food, nice service, but a little expensive. Price-performance ratio is borderline, but just within reason.

We waited a little longer for the menu and the subsequent ordering. The coffee and ice cream sundaes tasted really good. After drinking coffee and eating ice cream sundaes - none of which came on their own - I asked the employee passing by to hand me the card again, in vain - nothing happened. After 20 minutes I asked for the bill, again nothing. After asking again, the employee came, rather unfriendly. We paid and didn't tip because the service was simply lacking given the high prices. Apparently the employee didn't like it, he frantically grabbed the dishes from the table, didn't say goodbye, left the table and "roared" - standing on the terrace - "Stinginess is cool". Not every day is the same and we are all human, but this is very inappropriate and does not leave a positive impression. Accordingly, once and never again.

The food was very good and beautifully prepared. Very nice and courteous service. The atmosphere would be even nicer without the loud discussions among the staff. Price for a garlic bread €7.50 also a bit expensive. We felt comfortable. Thank you

We often go here for a drink or something to eat when we are in Rerik. Delicious pasta and pizza. The ice cream sundaes or iced coffee are also highly recommended. Very nice and friendly staff. A clear recommendation.

It's very nice to sit in, but that's about it. Very short, unfriendly service. I asked if I could get one less scoop of yogurt in the yogurt sundae and instead get a different flavor. (chocolate). No, that's not possible then 3 identical balls... Was the answer. Then I got one with 3 chocolate balls, the fruit was hard apples and pears. Sorry for over 9 euros, the beautiful view doesn't make up for it. The coffee we ordered came really late, at least it tasted good. I can leave my money somewhere else, I won't come back here.

My Kid swallowed a piece of sharp plastic (part of plastic spoon what is served with ice cream). I came back to tell to the staff to tell that this sort of plastic is bad for little Kids, Nature etc. They suggested me another spoon 🤡 no one asked how is my Kid, told that little kids eat random shit 👌🥲

Good food - I don't give a f#__k attitude service. We bought ice cream, it came with plastic spoon, it broke while my 3 years old Kid was eating ice cream..We came back to explain situation and in all possible ways/plastik ist schlecht- the answer from one of the staff guys was-wir können nichts dafür Wenn ihr kind Das fressen tut , Kind fressen auch Pappe wenn mann nicht hinschaut. The manager was not there, but from all the people there, no one asked how is the Kid?

We were offered the dish of the day, it was very tasty. Unfortunately we didn't ask about the price, the surprise came, hence the deductions for service. Otherwise everything was great.

We had a tomato soup and a carpaccio as a starter as well as a pizza and the fish plate. There was also a soft ice cream on hand. Everything was great.

The store was about half full, people who arrived after us were able to order and we were coldly ignored. After 15 minutes in which we didn't even get the card we left.

Unfortunately I don't know what the problem was. We sat down at a table, the waiter saw it because he was standing right next to it, and just walked past us for the next 20 minutes, without a menu, without anything. Others who came later were served immediately, I don't understand. The restaurant was only half full and quite clear. There was service at point 0, so I'm leaving now.

We've eaten there twice now, once pizza, once spaghetti. The pizza is okay, although I had a few digestive problems after the visit (seafood pizza). The spaghetti dishes are quite bland in taste. Italian cuisine is some of the best in the world. Unfortunately you don't notice that here. Lots of cream, pretty bland, no kick, no sophistication. That's why the food was there in less than 10 minutes. Where is the passion? Really a shame... The service was very friendly and attentive, we really liked that. Let's see if we can come by again or switch to Wismar.

We always get ice cream to take away here: it tastes really good and there are lots of interesting varieties here. Highly recommended!

Unfortunately it was a failure, the wrong meal, only one waiter was friendly but not competent, no pepper or salt or olive oil on the table, we waited a long time for the bread we ordered, only the location at the harbor was fantastically beautiful...it's a shame

Very good 👍. We were here for lunch and had pizza. The pizzas were very tasty and richly topped with fresh ingredients. The pizza dough is definitely made in house - simply delicious. We saw the ice cream sundaes during our meal and came back again in the afternoon. The ice cream sundaes were also delicious. During our visits the staff was very friendly and attentive. The prices are appropriate for the location of the restaurant and the high quality. We'll definitely be back.

Highly recommended restaurant. We were there for lunch. My salami pizza was very tasty. Very light, fresh pizza base. On the second day, based on the staff's recommendation, we had the dish of the day, pasta with fresh pesto and mozzarella cheese, garnished with piztachios. Super delicious. The staff is very attentive and friendly.

I was really looking forward to such delicious ice cream. We from Billich Services in and around Schwerin are here on Rerik today and are enjoying the great weather and have been given a large portion of ice cream to enjoy the ice cream in the wonderful sun. Mega.

Had takeaway ice cream. Very tasty (a rare occurrence with ice cream these days!), large scoops, but at 2 euros it's not exactly cheap, but that's justifiable given the location and the excellent taste. Gladly again. 🙂

Some dishes are excellent in taste and quality (...I didn't try the entire menu...!) But the service was very friendly and attentive! Just a side note, if you come for the second time and are remembered for the TIP, the service is amazing! .....I don't mean tipping! For a 10 euro bill, 10 cents!!!

The waiter was nice and quick at the table. Since it started to rain we moved the table under the parasol. The table there tipped extremely, which was also visible to other guests, but none of the waiters noticed this. It's a shame... The food was delicious, hot and freshly prepared. (Lasagne + pizza) The restaurant was busy and the food still came relatively quickly.

Ordered takeaway pizza there today. All pizzas were great in terms of taste. Everything fresh, fruity tomato sauce, delicious cheese. All in all, great. The pizzas were a good size and everyone was full. The service was very nice, I can't say more because, as I said, it was take-away. If you like pizza, go there and enjoy. The price is certainly cheaper, but then it's not as tasty or of such good quality. Everyone has to decide for themselves.

We were there after a long day at the beach. The staff was really nice and attentive, even though there were a lot of tables and therefore a lot of hustle and bustle. The food came very quickly and was extremely tasty. We will be back...

The menu was manageable. Unfortunately, the waiter didn't offer us a daily menu, which we only read later on the board. We would have preferred to eat some of that. It's a shame ☹️

Authentic Italian restaurant with staff. You can't fault the food and there was an extra dessert for the children.

Relatively expensive, which is normal given the location right on the Haffplatz and is probably due to the rental costs. The food was very good. The portions were sufficient (just a little too small for hungry teenagers). The service was friendly and quick. I found the chairs to be a bit low in relation to the tables. Addendum. . . On the side you can buy slices of pizza for little money, as well as ice cream (large scoops) and soft ice cream.

Delicious ice cream, a little more expensive (clear given the location), sometimes a bit of a wait. We haven't eaten pizza there yet. It's also great to drink a cappuccino. Unfortunately, EC payment is only possible from €25, which is completely out of date.

There is also scoop ice cream and soft ice cream at the side sales window. The soft ice cream is very plentiful and delicious! Small or medium size is enough ;-p

We have to end our last evening in Wismar at Rialto. We don't regret that. Delicious food, modernly prepared, and delicious flavors. Fantastic restaurant with nice personal service.

Tastes good and fills you up. Prices are cheaper than in Kühlungsborn, but... the lovely Italians still have to practice their grammar (see photo). But we laughed a lot about it, so thank you very much! :)

The waiters were very nice. The atmosphere was nice and it is always well attended. We had ice cream there in the evening. We had a Swedish cup, a nut cup and a "giant" spaghetti ice cream. In my personal opinion, the ice cream was delicious, but the spaghetti ice cream cannot be described as huge. Overall it's ok, but I can't say what the food is like.

The ice cream tastes good, but the young ice cream seller is very rude and seems quite arrogant. I'd rather buy the ice cream somewhere else... you almost get the impression that you're bothering him. Unfortunately, I have experienced this more than once here

We ate there several times and it was always delicious. All the staff were very friendly and gave us a lovely evening. The location is beautiful. The menu has something for every taste.

The food was very good, as was the view of the sea. Unfortunately the bill was too high, we were charged for an ice cream sundae that we didn't have...so my tip: please be careful and check the bill!!

Attention dear guests, keep an eye on the prices on the menu and invoice! Went there on June 2, 2024 and drank 2 mulled wines. Price card €3.90, so total €7.80. However, the waiter brought us a bill of €10.20. When we pointed out that there was a different price on the menu, the waiter said that wasn't possible. I asked him to check the card. He then said he had to discuss this with the boss. After a while he came back and gave us the answer that the price on the cash register was correct and we therefore had to pay the €10.20. The waiter couldn't do anything about it, that was his boss's instructions. However, it's not my problem if the card/cash register prices don't match! I paid the €7.80 and it was good.

The ice cream and coffee are very good. In the low season it is quiet and you can enjoy the view.
