Our absolute favorite restaurant – a pleasure for years! This restaurant has been an integral part of our everyday life for many years. Every time it feels like we're visiting good friends - warm, familiar and just completely comfortable. Host Burhan and his team are not only attentive, but also incredibly friendly and authentic - you can immediately tell that they work here with heart. The food is consistently first class: high quality ingredients, perfectly prepared, taste of the highest level. The meat specialties are particularly recommended - the beef fillet and the rack of lamb are absolute highlights and a must for every meat lover. Families with children are also in good hands here. The atmosphere is relaxed, child-friendly and warm - the little ones are welcomed just as warmly as the adults, and special requests are happy to be fulfilled. From an organizational point of view, everything is also right: there is plenty of parking space on the market square opposite. Due to its popularity, we strongly recommend making a reservation in advance - spontaneous visits are possible, but often difficult as the restaurant is very busy. A place where quality, hospitality and atmosphere harmonize perfectly. Absolute recommendation – for couples, friends and families alike!

Once again, a warm welcome from the chef and the waitresses. The visual presentation of the dishes and the taste are simply brilliant. Add to that the attentive and friendly staff. Perfect.

I am always impressed by the food

A visit is worth it! One of the best restaurants in Duisburg. Very tasty food, courteous service - which still has an eye for the guests even on a busy day and a selection of dishes that leaves a run-of-the-mill kitchen far behind. Even discerning guests will get a taste for it here. Five stars are still not enough! A reservation is recommended. By the way, there are enough parking spaces in the market square directly opposite - free of charge!

I was amazed at what a beautiful restaurant there is in Rheinhausen Friemersheim. Nicely decorated and friendly staff. Before the ordered food was on the table, there was soup. This is probably standard there and is sure to be well received by the guests. I can imagine going to Merion again.

Let's be honest, when you eat at the Merion Restaurant, it's not just dinner - it's a deluxe culinary holiday experience! No matter whether it's a starter, main course or dessert - everything is just right here. Every time we go there with our friends, our taste buds are sent on a trip around the world. And best of all: The staff is not only super friendly, but also extremely attentive. A special compliment to the kitchen: Our friend Samantha loves her schnitzel wafer-thin - so thin that you can almost see through it - and that's exactly how she gets it served every time. That's what I call service at the highest level! Merion – we always enjoy coming back, so warm up the pots!

On the way to Moers I remembered that a friend had recently raved about a restaurant in Rheinhausen. Called and yes there would still be room for us. Very nice welcome, a nice table and fast service. There was a delicious starter from the house beforehand. Then came a nice, fresh salad, not drowned in sauce, just the way we love it. The main course was sooooo delicious and something completely different. The dessert trilogy, a poem for the palate. And everyone, really everyone, was incredibly friendly and approachable. Merion will definitely be added to our restaurant list. Thank you for the lovely evening.

Today, December 26th, 2024, I was at the Merion and, like the last few years, I was very impressed. Today I had a “wild goulash with spaetzle and applesauce and cranberries”. The meat was very tender and the "dips" were fresh and fruity. The spaetzle could have been seasoned more as it didn't taste like anything, but it was homemade. The sauce was great and the consistency was also very good. For dessert I had a speculoos ice cream, which could have been more creamy. Otherwise the ice cream was good. It had a great speculoos flavor. The ice cream was also fresh but it could have been creamier. All in all, a very successful visit 😉

As always, very tasty. Good selection - something for everyone. Very pleasant atmosphere. Absolutely child-friendly. It's best to make a reservation as it's always busy. Recently there has also been outdoor catering. Unreservedly recommended.

We spent a magical evening at Merion on Saturday. The food (fish, meat and game, starters and dessert) was excellent. We particularly liked the great service. I visited friends who live right opposite the restaurant, which they’ve never dined in. On my last night I changed that by inviting them out as a thank you. We were all amazed at the quality of the Balkan/Turkish menu. A really nice evening and some new local customers.

We were there with 12 people after my niece's baptism. And I have to say, I haven't experienced better service in terms of quality, friendliness and speed in any restaurant for years. The boss made a very warm impression, even towards other guests and regular customers, even if he hardly had any time. The food was excellent in terms of quality, appearance and taste. Based on this experience, I will bring forward my birthday dinner reservation there and put my previous regular restaurant aside for it.

Really a nice restaurant, nice staff. Unfortunately we weren't that impressed with the food. My husband's schnitzel was pounded so thin that it actually only consisted of breading and was very dry around the edges. But we will try again, as you can sometimes have bad luck.

Today we ordered there for the first time, previously we had another Balkan restaurant as a regular. Unfortunately, prices there have risen sharply. But at Merion the prices are reasonable. The portions are large and soooo incredibly tasty. The best Balkan cuisine I have had the pleasure of experiencing so far. Can't find the right words for such great food. I was your guest with my son on May 30th (holiday). We come from Duisburg Süd and came on the recommendation of the restaurant owner Etus Bissingheim, who was often your guest on his own rest day. And if a colleague was enthusiastic about it, we wanted to try it out ourselves. We actually wanted to come spontaneously, but two hours before I realized that it was a holiday. so I called to make a reservation. We were promised the last possible place. Thanks :-) Well, when we arrived at your place, we received a very friendly welcome and were looked after very well throughout the evening. I was happy about your apparatus. Food was very tasty. The Argentinian fillet prepared to perfection. Pure enjoyment :-) We sat until the end of your day because we had so much to talk about since we don't see each other that often. We never had the feeling, "That's enough, now pay and finally go." Thank you for your patience. We would be happy to come back and of course we would be happy to recommend you to others.

We had dinner at Merion today. From the starter to the dessert it was a great meal. The service also left nothing to be desired. Even though it was very busy, we never had to wait long for the always friendly service staff. We will be back definitely.

Nice restaurant and a great ambience

We were there for the first time today. And we were welcomed like regular guests. Super friendly, very personable, really warm. Then the ambience. Very tasteful, someone with a sense of real comfort and style did their work. The service: Super accommodating, attentive and, as I said, warm. The food was, for me, the best restaurant food I've had in a long time. The starter platter with bread, herb butter, tzatziki and ajvar (all homemade!!!) came from the house and was great as an overture. The starter salad was top notch, fresh, with, among other things, fresh apple strips, and mixed lettuce, tomatoes and cucumbers. The dressing must have been homemade and was brilliant. The main courses were fantastic. The vegetable pieces in the Djuvec rice were made from fresh ingredients, the rice was light and overall the whole thing was aromatic and harmonious. The meat was the best I've had in a long time. The presentation was done by an expert, the grill plates didn't seem as overloaded as the rest of the dishes, but rather attractive and appetizing. A price/performance ratio that is not often found today. That's how gastronomy works, even in times like these. The people there know their stuff. Because that is exactly what awaits the guest here. Gastronomy like from the textbook, with dishes of excellent craftsmanship. For such top quality for five people 128.70 euros, which is not even 26 euros per person for food and drink, and at the end there was a Julischka on the house, which is no longer a given today. Absolute recommendation!!! And today, on our second visit, after the first one had impressed us so much, we were totally thrilled again. Everyone here knows their craft. Both the service and the kitchen team. The sliced ​​pieces of various types of fish, the starter Bruschetta alla Genovese, my mother's asparagus gratin, or the turkey medallions baked with tomatoes and mozzarella, everything was worthy of stars in my opinion. First of all, the salad was great. There was even a soup from the house as a starter today, a really tasty potato cream soup. And everything again at unbeatable prices. We have been to this restaurant several times. And so far we have been extremely happy with the food. But unfortunately the quality of the food wasn't up to par on our last visit. The fried potatoes were not crispy and not seasoned. Likewise the meat. The complaint about this was dismissed. But it looks like the ownership is changing, according to the rumor mill.

I was very disappointed yesterday. Within 2 months. Ate the colorful salad with steak strips. In February it was very tasty. Yesterday the walnuts and grapes were missing. I let you know immediately. I got the answer, she passes it on. Nothing happens until you pay. When I pointed this out, 2 euros were graciously deducted.

I was in this restaurant for the first time today with 4 ladies, all 5 found the dishes to be very tasty, visually presented very nicely, there was no reason for complaints. We became aware of the Merion restaurant on March 1st through a positive restaurant review in the WAZ Duisburg. We can fully agree with this criticism. Unfortunately also when it comes to the small selection of open wines. My conclusion: We can be welcomed to Merion more often in the future. By the way, the greeting of the guests is also very friendly and warm. We felt REALLY welcome.
