Restaurant Meram in Hamburg

Review for the restaurant I was recently in this restaurant and unfortunately I can only report an extremely bad experience. The meat that was served had pieces of plastic in it, which is not only unappetizing but also dangerous. When I then ordered the Coke, I discovered that it was not carbonated. Although they brought me a new Coke, it was also flat. When I spoke to the staff about the problems and asked for a solution, I was simply ignored. Instead, they wanted to present me with the entire bill, without any accommodating discount or apology for the deficiencies. The whole thing seemed disrespectful and customer-unfriendly. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this restaurant and will definitely not go there again.

Delicious. Fast. Infinitely great. Number one for charcoal grilled Turkish specialties. Parking spaces nearby (Prime Market 1€/h and others).

A few days ago we visited this restaurant with the family, which we had visited several times and had liked so far. However, this time our first impression was unusual as the restaurant was surprisingly empty. It was usually always busy and we suspected that the current construction at the intersection might be a reason for that. Unfortunately, our experience did not live up to expectations. The service was not very friendly and not particularly attentive. The quality of the food was particularly disappointing: the salad didn't contain fresh fruit, and overall the food didn't taste as good as it used to. We hope that the quality will improve again soon. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend the restaurant at the moment.

The Meram Restaurant on Billstedter Hauptstraße is without a doubt the best restaurant in Hamburg when it comes to value for money and taste. The dishes are not only authentic and full of flavor, but also generously portioned and available at a fair price. The meat specialties are particularly outstanding – fresh, perfectly seasoned and grilled to perfection. The side dishes are always fresh and varied. Desserts also 1A! The service is friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is welcoming and cozy. If you are looking for an excellent culinary experience in Hamburg, you are guaranteed to find it at Meram. Absolute recommendation!

We asked for 3 wraps, 3 cokes, 2 potato doner bread, cold. The potatoes were cooked and kept waiting, cold like rubber. Even though it wasn't too crowded inside, the waiting time was 33 minutes. Employees should be careful.

Best lahmacun we have ever eaten. Taste like in Turkey. I've never had such good food in Germany. We've tried many restaurants in Hamburg and especially Billstedt, but the best Lahmacuns are here.

The very last shop. Went there with the family and they offered us a reserved table because they apparently weren't coming. It was next to the smoking room but they told us to close the door because we didn't want to sit there otherwise. After the reservation apparently showed up 10 minutes late, they opened the door to chase us away because they knew we were leaving. After I spoke to the waiter he just said he couldn't lock the door so the smoke came all the way to us and we were then forced to leave because we were there with 4 small children. Impossible!!! Never again!!! I would give 0 stars if it were possible.

I ordered two kebabs using the 2 for 1 offer on UberEats, but they forgot the sauce. When I called there, a gentleman supposedly called “Yunus” answered the phone and he was extremely rude. He spoke loudly, snapped and sounded very annoyed. When we told him that the sauce was missing, all he got was a dry “Okay, I don’t know.” I'm supposed to call tomorrow so the boss can give me a credit, but that's just how it is for now. This is absolutely unacceptable and I will never order from here again! I didn’t even get a “sorry.” If you don't want to lose any more customers, you should work on your employees.

I went and regretted it after 10 years.

An oriental dream in the middle of Hamburg. Breakfast: absolutely world class. Dishes: absolutely world class Service: phenomenal The ambience is attractive. A star deduction for the volume that occurs during a fully occupied local. This could possibly be remedied by soundproofing elements.

I picked up a grill package from TooGoodToGo. One of the best things I've ever eaten in my life.

Very tasty lamb skewers with rice and baked potatoes, chicken soup and salad. Very fresh ingredients, friendly service and pleasant atmosphere. Well suited for families. Gladly again.

I went to Restaurant Meram with my family. Reception could be even friendlier. It took a while for the waiter to bring us the menu. We had a breakfast buffet with the family. Buffet selection was ok (could be a bit more). Some foods tasted like they were from the day before. Overall it was ok, nothing more. We definitely won't come again. Thanks!

Booked a voucher via Groupon for the breakfast buffet. Given the location and price, not much could be expected. We were already impressed by the great welcome we received with an explanation of the buffet, what was what, where we got what, but then we found this great buffet and we were speechless. The staff and the entire service was simply unbeatable. Always attentive without being intrusive. Sanitary facilities are so clean, service, freshness and cleanliness are very important in this restaurant. This restaurant receives 5 stars from us

We ordered takeaway. Very courteous staff. The meat was freshly grilled over charcoal and both the meat and the side dishes were juicy.

Eating at a fancy restaurant was ok but there is still room for improvement

Fantastic restaurant to have breakfast at.

Recently went there for brunch for the first time. The selection was really great, the food was very fresh and really tasty. Tea and juice included, world class! We will definitely visit the brunch again.

Went there for brunch today. I like Saturday better because the brunch isn't as extensive as on Sunday. The price of 21.90 euros works for me because everything is more expensive, OK, coffee, tea and apple as well as orange juice are included. The food was consistently delicious, the hot meal with chicken was great. Dessert tiramisu and a piece of coconut...that was still good. So far we have been there on Sundays, as written at the beginning, very rich, not good for the figure 😁

I have never eaten such a bad kebab cold and with hardly any sauce. I spoke to the staff (behind the counter) about it. They were very unfriendly and reacted very rudely and my appetite was gone too! Luckily the waiter and waitress were very nice apologized several times for the behavior! never again!

The breakfast was very tasty but the service was very slow... The food for the buffet was replenished late.

Great service and delicious brunch!

I recently ate at Restaurant Meram in Hamburg and had mixed experiences. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting. The service was friendly, but there were long waits. The food was solid, with tasty meze platters, but the Mercimek soup could have used more spice. The bread was freshly made and tasted good. Lahmacun was also very tasty and served with fresh salad. However, my lahmacun was packed with soggy lettuce, which caused it to get soggy. Overall a decent restaurant but there is room for improvement especially in the service and taste of the food.

When I go to Hamburg I definitely stop by very nice staff I haven’t missed going to Meram for 14 years

Ich finde die Bedienung sehr freundlich und sympathisch ( vor allem die mit den blonden Haaren:)), außerdem ist das Essen sehr lecker und die Vorspeise,also das Lavasbrot mit dem Dip ist top! Ich würde es hier also weiter empfehlen!

I am thrilled with the breakfast buffet. For just under €18 including coffee, tea and juices, hardly anyone can keep up with that. The buffet had a variety of salads, warm and cold starters... Service was friendly, only the parking situation was a bit annoying, but the restaurant can't help that. Cleanliness was great, I was the first to react if somewhere wasn't clean and I was fine. I will definitely come back and have already recommended it.

Unfortunately disappointing!!! The store used to be much better. Everything tasted good and service was very good. Had dinner there with the family yesterday. Grill pan was really not good. Meat was very tough and dry. Beyti isn't even close to being as good as she used to be. Doner for the children didn't come as ordered. Bread(dürüm) was cold and so was meat. The drinks were simply given in filled glasses and tasted like cheap counterfeits from Lidl, Aldi and Co. We definitely won't eat there again.

I had dinner there with my family today. None of us enjoyed it at all. The meat was ten. My children wanted kebab. The bread was cold, the meat was undercooked. There were only 2 sauces to choose from. The Estee was from Aldi. I don't recommend it to anyone. I will never eat there again.

Friendly service and very tasty food.

0 service, poor quality. Crash. The question is how the store is still holding up. Service very inattentive. Most of the time they don’t feel like doing their work. Price performance hasn't been right for years. The store used to be really good, but now there are better alternatives. Never again.

Very courteous staff. The prices are also fair for the portions. All in all a good place to have something to eat for lunch.

Unfortunately, 0 stars are not possible because I can't give a review if my food never came. I ordered through Uber Eats and it noted that Meram delivers using its own suppliers. Delivery time should be 30 to 50 minutes. After 1.5 hours I was already skeptical, but I couldn't get through to anyone. After 2 hours I contacted support, who called the store for me and wrote that the food was being delivered. After 3 hours of waiting I got the status that the food had been delivered. We then tried to contact the store again, but no one answered. By canceling via the app, I get my money back, but not my lifetime. If the restaurant is overwhelmed, then they should stop making deliveries. This experience was disastrous. I then ordered directly from our competitor Hardal and boom, I had my food in 20 minutes - that's how good service works.

Order food in advance so that I can get the food straight after work. I can process the delivery until 8pm and the cancellation is sent at 9pm.. 15 minutes before I was supposed to receive my food. When you call the restaurant after being occupied x9 times you get a half-hearted answer, that's not how service should be. Formerly a great shop that lives by its name. Never again.

Very polite service, thank you for that. But my food wasn't served fresh, it was just made warm and my meat was raw! There was a hair in the onions (çoban salad). Thanks for nothing, it's slowed down a lot here, I was a customer for years! I will never want to enter again! It's a shame I can't upload any pictures here!

To be honest, Meram didn't used to be the best either. But since the new owner came, it's even worse.

It is one of the Turkish businesses in a location that can be considered a Turkish neighborhood in Hamburg. The soup was nice, but if you look at the price and performance, the prices are a little high.

It wasn't bad with the taste and the lunch offer works too... but not for Ayran 0.25 and Cola 0.25 €7.80... whatever they offer as an offer you get back from the drinks...

There is a very sweet lady there, she makes very good pancakes. It was delicious

Crowded, loud, scheduled, expensive and the food didn't taste that good either. Unfortunately, it was a disappointment given the horrendous prices. The ambience was good but the waiter was extremely cheeky... He really wanted to sell us the buffet but there was hardly anything in it and that for 40 euros.

Friday, April 5, 2024 Table reserved at short notice for Iftar for 7 people. The restaurant was completely booked. We were nevertheless warmly welcomed and a table was set aside for us in the winter garden. The waiters were, as always, very friendly. The food was delicious as always. Many thanks to the entire staff

Catastrophe….. We were there as a whole family (20-30 people) and some of us didn't want to order the open buffet but wanted to order normally. At first they didn't want to take our order and then they came over 30 minutes late after breaking their fast. What I found very cheeky was that they wanted 4 euros for 0.2 ml of water, cola, etc. It was a complete rip-off... and the people who didn't take the open buffet had to pay that... The waiter was also cheeky and didn't really listen to us… the atmosphere was catastrophically too dark, too narrow

Unfortunately I tried the Ramadan iftar buffet for 30 euros per person just to eat a few salads. The food was all cold. There was no table for us even though we had reserved. There is no service. There are no cutlery. They put us up in the youth lounge at the top, even though we are a family. The buffet downstairs was better than upstairs and we still paid the same price. There was no fruit upstairs like downstairs. There was no water at least and we paid €8 for just one bottle of water. Never again and will never recommend it. Super bad.

I was there today with my family for the Iftar buffet and had called in advance to reserve a table. When we arrived the gentleman at reception couldn't find our name. I specifically asked about the point of making a reservation if we still have to wait to be seated. He then started arguing with a colleague in Turkish (a language we don't speak) but it was clear that the waitress told him that it was not possible to sit upstairs as it was full. When we went upstairs, where it was actually intended for men and not families, we found that the food was completely cold. We weren't even given a glass of water to break our fast and no one was available to order this extra (because it was supposedly not included in the €29.99). In the end we were only able to order a bottle of water, which again cost €7.50. All in all a very disappointing experience that I don't want to repeat.

I would prefer not to give a star. When we called we were told that we had been accommodated on the ground floor for a reserved 11 people. When we arrived they took us to the upper floor, we didn't get any service, after 15 minutes they said that you couldn't order food upstairs and that there was an open buffet for €29, which wasn't announced in the call. We didn't get any service and walked out. Not recommended.

Saturday evening 6 p.m. with table reservation. Worked great and was necessary. Filled to capacity. Fast and friendly service even though the employees are incredibly busy. First of all, warm flatbread and 2 dips. Grill plate with different types of meat was more than plentiful and visually a feast for the eyes. Deliciously grilled and totally tender meat. First visit but not the last. Plus Turkish music 🎶 and a relaxed audience. You should definitely visit 😋

We ordered 2 kebab menus and are very disappointed. The dürüm kebab was cold and soaked in sauce and the notice of no cucumbers was simply ignored. Fries were very sticky. That was the last time we ordered. A pity

The large selection of warm dishes and the taste of the dishes were great! We sat at the reserved tables, but unfortunately there was a strong smell of cigarette smoke there. Toilets were very clean. What bothered me most was that they also charged the 5-year-old child the full breakfast price of €17.90. For a few simit pieces & Nutella. When it came to the Baklava competition, they were much more accommodating and didn't charge me a menu price (on their own initiative, without me asking).

It's a large restaurant, so it's naturally a little louder there. Also safe because the tables are not separated, for example by partitions. The food and service are great! Served quickly and friendly service. This is not a given and especially here, where there are so many customers, it requires a lot of effort. The menu is quite extensive and the prices are moderate. I've eaten here several times and always find it delicious. The staff is always friendly. The price is also very reasonable for the rich breakfast buffet. Only the napkins are folded in an old-fashioned way, maybe you can change that for the visual effect.

A super great restaurant with lots of delicious Turkish dishes both cold and warm!!! The brunch was the best I've eaten in a long time! Food and drinks (coffee, tea, apple juice and orange juice all included.) we will go there more often from now on...highly recommended!!! The staff so friendly and accommodating.

Nice restaurant with a nice atmosphere and friendly waiters. Food was also delicious, but in my opinion far too expensive for a breakfast buffet (€25 on the weekend). Unfortunately, there was no alternative for people who generally want to eat less. Next time we'll go somewhere else for a cheaper breakfast.

The staff was very friendly. We were there with 6 people, the food was not good except for one vegetarian dish (there is only 1)! The meat on the kebab plate was only lukewarm. The salad that came with it was the same as the one we got before, just leaf lettuce, no onions or tomatoes etc. The portions were ok. Unfortunately the food didn't come together either. The toilets are really bad, not only dirty, there is also water on the floor (the men's as well as the women's). When we informed the staff about this, they just said “It’s been like this for weeks.” I'm really very disappointed, I was there for breakfast brunch two years ago, it was great back then.

Ich glaube nicht, dass es sich um ein Restaurant handelt, sondern eher um ein Dönet-laden Döner Kebab. Man kann auch gegrilltes Fleisch essen, wie an jedem anderen Ort Für mich ist ein Restaurant etwas anderes. Die Nacht war freundlich und wir unterhielten uns, aber für mich persönlich ist es nicht notwendig, an diesen Ort wieder zu gehen, es ist nichts Besonderes.. Es gibt einen Teil für Raucher und selbst dann geht der Rauch auf die andere Seite und ist für den Nichtraucher völlig unangenehm

Waren zum Frühstück, ausreichende Auswahl Die Räumlichkeiten wirkt kalt uns ist nicht gemütlich.

Wir waren gestern wieder im Meram. Das Essen war wie immer sehr gut, besonders herausragend ist jedoch das Servicepersonal…immer freundlich und zuvorkommend!! Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder!!!!
