We were invited for the second time for a birthday party: great food, committed and very present, competent service🙌🏼If the journey wasn't a bit far for us, Margaux would definitely be our place to go.

Yesterday, we were at Margeaux with a group and had the 5-course surprise menu. Every course was excellent! The flavors were imaginatively combined, and at times surprising, but above all, they were one thing: incredibly delicious (so good that we ordered the scallops with foie gras again!). Boris also gave us excellent advice on matching wines, and the service team, led by Judith, left us wanting for nothing! The atmosphere was casual, the ambiance tasteful, yet understated and cozy. I highly recommend this restaurant!

This was our second visit. Extremely friendly, courteous, and perfect service. On both visits, we even briefly saw the really nice chef. The food is excellent, truly something special. The menu is small, but precisely because of that, it's of such high quality. We tried our luck today without a reservation; it was completely booked. However, we were immediately given the option of being called if someone canceled. So we strolled through the city, and indeed, we received a call to say a table was available. Now that's what I call service in all areas. We'd be happy to come back.

The two of us were there yesterday, and I had high hopes for it. The service was very good, but the food was really nothing special. There was nothing there that could compare to, say, Little Kitchen or Pastorale. The food wasn't worth the €250. The cheese platter was good, and so was the sauce for the Fanny Frisch sticks; the rest was nothing special.

A perfect blend of fantastic cuisine combined with friendly, perfectly trained staff and a very pleasant and cozy atmosphere. Everything is simply harmonious and not at all stuffy. Three of us were guests at Margaux, and the very attentive service guided us through the evening. Upon request, I was given a well-chosen wine pairing for the meal. The entire menu was excellently cooked, and each course was a wonderful interplay of flavors and textures! My personal highlight was the oyster with buttermilk and lemon sorbet – truly refreshing! The value for money is definitely there; I highly recommend stopping by the cozy ambiance of the half-timbered house and experiencing a wonderful culinary evening.

We visited for the first time and were absolutely thrilled. We opted for the 5-course surprise menu. In addition to the 5 courses, there was also a "Greeting from the Kitchen" and two smaller snacks. We were 100% impressed with all the dishes. We would gladly return. We felt very comfortable and went home feeling completely full. Simply fantastic!

Big congratulations to everyone! Eat: Fantastic! It started with an incredibly delicious sourdough bread with salted butter. We could have fooled ourselves with the bread. We would come back again just for that. And then came one course that was better than the next. All perfectly prepared, perfectly seasoned and very harmonious. Another great experience, both quality of food and service respectively. We are repeated guests at this hidden gem in the old quarter of Limburg, just a few meters down from the famous Limburg cathedral. As with previous visits the Chef and his team both in kitchen and service provided a warm welcome. Quick and attentive service, comfortable seating and soft background music the level of which does not disturb the conversation. This time the choice for starter were either soup of celery root with small langoustine or beef tartare with condiments. Followed by beef cheek with roasted green cabbage and a dark sauce for which you would kill. The dessert a lovely combination of cheesecake mouse with sour sweet stocked fruit juices, ice cream and soft popcorn. Absolutely perfect value for money.

We and some friends were served very nicely by Carolin for several hours on Christmas Eve, who fulfilled almost every wish of ours. Despite the hustle and bustle, she was always incredibly passionate about making all the guests happy. We really enjoyed the oysters, the burger and the champagne on the slimmed-down menu. Sehr enttäuschend, wir hatten viel mehr erwartet! Das Restaurant ist im Herzen von Limburg, wirkt gemütlich und einladend. Leider ist die Karte klein nicht spektakulär, wir haben uns für den Rinderücken entschieden, der war für diesen Preis nicht akzeptabel, das Fleisch war zäh, durchzogen mit Fett und Knorpel. Für diesen Preis bekommen wir sogar in Wiesbaden oder Baden Baden Rinderfilet. Nach der Reklamation wurde in der Rechnung 1 Portion und der Kaffe nicht berechnet. Schade, wir würden gerne öfter dieses Restaurant besuchen, aber dafür sollte die Qualität der Produkte stimmen und die Relation von Preis und Leistung überdacht werden.

Wir haben das Mittagsmenü rundum genossen und uns im Margaux sehr wohl gefühlt! Alles war frisch zubereitet und hübsch angerichtet, besonders hervorheben möchten wir die Schwarzwurzelsuppe, die Ravioli, die Entenbrust und das Dessert aus Kokosmilchreis mit gerösteten Bananenscheiben. Die Weinempfehlungen passten perfekt zu unseren Speisen.

Today I went to the Margaux restaurant with my grandma and we had a wonderful evening. We felt very comfortable from the start, thanks to the attentive but unobtrusive service and the stylish, cozy atmosphere. The clean lines of the interior create a modern, inviting ambience that fits perfectly with the overall experience. From a culinary point of view, the Margaux impressed us across the board. We chose the char, the salsify soup with quail and veal fillet and cheeks. Each dish was superbly prepared, with a harmonious balance of flavors and impressive presentation. The crowning finale was the Mille-Feuille – a dessert that was a highlight both visually and in terms of taste. The Margaux is a place we can definitely recommend. Everything is perfect here: the quality of the food, the service and the atmosphere. We'd love to come back!

We took the lunch menu and liked it. Menu of 3 courses for 39 euros is totally acceptable. It was a bit pity that I wanted to order pumpkin ravioli as main dish but it was not available. Service was nice, as they listened to my wish and adjusted the dessert for me.

We were looking forward to a wonderful French meal. The restaurant is rather unspectacular and kept dry. What was completely unbearable was the background music, which immediately spoiled the mood with its annoying bass beat. We politely asked the clerk if the music could be changed or reduced. This was categorically rejected in a sharp tone. We didn't eat there so can't comment on the food. It's probably very good. However, the treatment of the guest is not tolerable. If this restaurant wants to appeal to a good and cultured clientele, the background music should be subdued and quiet and in a non-disturbing and dominating tone. Please consider this. Then we'd love to come back.

Das Margaux befindet sich in einem historischen Haus in Limburgs Altstadt mit moderner, aber passender Einrichtung. Die dezente Beleuchtung komplettiert die äußerst gemütliche Atmosphäre. Das Personal einschließlich Koch beherrscht mit seiner liebenswerten Art die Gratwanderung zwischen aufmerksamem und dennoch unaufdringlichem Verhalten den Gästen gegenüber in Perfektion. Dem Überraschungsmenü gingen neben dem Appetizer französische Austern mit einem Glas Kir Royal voraus. Was diesen folgte war ein abendliches Feuerwerk an Gaumenexplosionen: Vom Bio-Ei mit Lauchcreme und brauner Butter über den weißen Heilbutt (natürlich auf den Punkt gegart) bis hin zum Dessert war jeder Bissen für sich ein Erlebnis - die passend ausgesuchten Weine taten ihr Übriges. Bezüglich Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist abschließend zu bemerken, dass wir einen weit überdurchschnittlichen "Wert" für den gezahlten Preis erhalten haben. Ich bedanke mich bei dem gesamten Margaux-Team für ein unvergessenes Dinner!

Das Personal war äußerst freundlich und aufmerksam, ohne aufdringlich zu sein. Das Essen war einfach hervorragend! Wir haben das große Menü probiert, und es war geschmacklich hervorragend und wunderschön angerichtet. Besonders begeistert waren wir von der frischen Qualität der Zutaten und der kreativen Kombination der Aromen. Auch die Weinauswahl war beeindruckend, und die Empfehlungen des Kellners haben perfekt zu unserem Menü gepasst. Die Preise sind angemessen für die Qualität, die hier geboten wird. Insgesamt ein großartiges Erlebnis – wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder und können Margaux nur weiterempfehlen!

Beware hidden charge - 5.50 euros for still water! This is ridiculous, this should potentially even be included at this caliber of restaurant or if only as part of the lunch set menu. That unpleasant surprise really annoyed me and left a sour taste at the end of my visit. If you’re not going to cover it or lower the price, at least be transparent about it and provide a drink menu instead of just asking if you would like water at the start. Feels a little deceptive because of how expensive it ended up being. If I had known this I probably would’ve gone for a glass of wine (do the guests with those know how much they’re going to pay?) instead of paying this much for water. Otherwise the food was good, not overly fancy and decently filling, with interesting flavors especially in the mousses. The menu was worth trying for me with the tuna with Asian flavors, pigeon with gnocchi and celery mousse, and yogurt mousse dessert with raspberry ice cream; you’ll have to check though as it changes often and may not be updated online. Service was friendly enough but sometimes both ladies would disappear or be hard to track down for up to 5 minutes which could be frustrating when trying to order or get the bill, resulting in me having to rush off at the end. Seemed like they were pretty occupied with just delivering and collecting dishes.

A small, minimal deduction only goes to the menu on the website, which has not been updated. However, this doesn't detract from the overall experience. The competent staff helped us with very good recommendations to find the perfect drink for our menu. Overall, the Restaurant Margaux is a place where we felt completely comfortable. The attention to detail that you can feel in every corner and the dedication of the entire team made our visit a great experience. The restaurant is in an old half-timbered house, but the inside has been renovated in a very modern way. The service is very warm, super fast and leaves no wish unfulfilled. The dishes are very modern and really something special. Everything was super tasty and it is an absolute recommendation! We would definitely like to come back - reservation is recommended.

Awesome! Würde gerne noch einen Punkt, also 6 Points vergeben (bei mir 5 Points ist selten). Menu gewählt mit harmonierender Wein-Empfehlung je nach Gang. Trotz dem Niveau schnörkellos und nicht abgehoben, weder vom Preisniveau noch vom Service. Alle Speisen haben einen Strauß an Geschmacksnoten erzeugt. Fazit: Genußsuchtgefahr.

I had the opportunity to try this restaurant as we were traveling from Belgium to Frankfurt. I can’t say enough about how quaint the town of Limburg is, which added to the experience of this great restaurant, we decided to order the chef’s tasting menu, which was a wonderful decision. The first course was a wonderful gravlax with a refreshing sauce. Next we received a perfectly seasoned and cooked sea scallop dish. Then we were served a wonderfully prepared venison finally finished off with a very nice mouse with a touch of pineapple.

We spent a great evening here in January. The atmosphere is super nice and makes you feel comfortable. The service is very attentive and very friendly. The food is of great quality, well prepared and tastes excellent. Thank you very much and we will definitely come back.

We were at Margaux for the first time today. But definitely not for the last time. We had the 4 course surprise menu. The food compositions were very well balanced and tasted excellent. The service is fast, friendly and competent. It was a very beautiful evening. And we would love to come back.

Top Essen, super entsannt, vor allem in gemütlicher Atmosphäre.

Heute durften wir zum ersten Mal (aber sicherlich nicht zum letzten Mal) Gäste im Margaux sein. Die Einrichtung überzeugt mit einem stimmigen Konzept und man wird herzlich empfangen und während des gesamten Aufenthaltes aufmerksam aber nicht aufdringlich umsorgt - das gelingt nicht jedem. Ist es übertrieben von dem Brot zu schwärmen? Natürlich gehört ein selbstgebackenes Brot bei dem Anspruch dazu, aber im Margaux ist es schon wirklich besonders gut. Das gesamte Menü war in sich stimmig und ich bewundere aufrichtig ein Küchenteam, das es schafft die Gerichte so intensiv und rund zu kreieren. Die Weinbegleitung war sehr gut auf die Gänge abgestimmt und es ist erfrischend zu erleben, dass bei einer Weinbegleitung nicht einfach nur die teuersten Weine ausgewählt werden sondern mit (Fach-) Verstand eine Empfehlung ausgesprochen wird, die den Besuch zu einem Erlebnis werden lässt. Auch der kleine Faupax des Nachtisches auf der Jacke wurde schnell mit einem Lächeln und einem großzügigen Trostpflaster vergessen gemacht. Deshalb meine Empfehlung: Wer in Limburg ist und hervorragend essen möchte, unbedingt rechtzeitig einen Tisch reservieren - es lohnt sich. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder….

Unser Besuch war in der letzten Woche mit 4 Personen am Abend. Das Restaurant zeigt äußerlich Altstadt-Charakter, ist innen aber eher clean und minimalistisch. Wir mögen das und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Der Service am Tisch war sehr gut und aufmerksam, wenn auch hin und wieder etwas konversationsunterbrechend. Herausragend ist jedes Gericht gewesen, sehr lecker und von hoher Qualität. Die Weinempfehlung war ordentlich. Auch wenn es Restaurants in Limburg gibt, die sich selbst auf einem ähnlichen Niveau sehen, muss man dies als Gast deutlich verneinen. In der Preiskategorie für mich einzigartig im gastronomischen Angebot. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder!

Auf der Durchreise haben wir im schönen Limburg gehalten. Ohne Reservierung (Dienstags) haben wir das Margaux aufgesucht und wurden herzlich aufgenommen . Vom Wein über das Viergang Menü stimmte alles. Großartige Speisen mit hervorragenden Service. Hier stimmt alles. Lieben Dank das wir Gast sein durften.

Es war wieder ein toller Abend mit lieben Freundinnen. Der Service spitzenmäßig, sehr freundlich und aufmerksam, das Essen nicht zu toppen (meine Empfehlung: Kürbisrisotto 😍). Alles in allem ein sehr gelungener Abend

Wir hatten das 3 Gänge Überraschungsmenü. Sensationell. Carpaccio zur Vorspeise, Seeteufel als Hauptgericht und Appelcrumble zum Nachtisch. Der Service ist hervorragend. Sehr zu empfehlen.

Frisch saniertes Altstadthaus, ausgezeichnet mit dem hessischen Denkmalschutzpreis. Das Restaurant befindet sich in der mittelalterlichen Kaufmannshalle. Sehr gute Qualität, etwas hochpreisig, es lohnt aber trotzdem.

Ein sehr schönes Lokal. Kleine, übersichtliche Karte, aber dadurch frische Küche von herausragender Qualität! Sehr feiner Service. Unaufdringlich, aufmerksam und sehr gut geschult. Aber trotzdem eine lockere Atmosphäre. Es war ein Vergnügen, hier Essen zu gehen. Das restaurierte Gebäude stellt den passenden Rahmen für das Menü.
