We came for drinks only, which in a place like Mami Viet is a little like visiting a spa just to breathe the eucalyptus and leave. Technically permitted, emotionally confusing for everyone involved. It was happy hour, though, and capitalism had already given us permission. The interior is gorgeous — glowing Vietnamese lanterns, polished surfaces, an atmosphere that says someone on Instagram is about to forgive themselves. The staff were polite but clearly disappointed we weren’t ordering food, the way a personal trainer looks at you when you order water and no ambition. There was… a smell. Not catastrophic, but oddly human, like the restaurant had recently survived something and was pretending it was fine now. Still, the other guests were having a great time, laughing loudly, rolling sushi into their mouths like joy was tax-deductible. My cocktail was cold, sweet, and dangerously easy to drink. I only had one. The next day my head behaved like I’d betrayed it personally, which suggests the alcohol was either very efficient or deeply judgmental. All that said, it was actually a pleasant evening. Nice atmosphere, good energy, and I left more amused than traumatized — which, in Leipzig nightlife, counts as a win.

We had lunch here today, midweek. The food was delicious, the service was quick, and the atmosphere was great. The lunch menu is good and a bit cheaper.

We love Mami Viet. The value for money is unbeatable. They have a great lunch menu, which is also available on weekends. The ingredients are always very fresh, the staff is super friendly, and the restaurant is very nice and clean. We love going to Mami Viet.

We ordered food online and picked it up. It was good, but unfortunately, we discovered at home that the roast duck didn't even come with rice. It tasted fine, but next time we'll have to check carefully to make sure everything is included.

We spontaneously decided to go into the restaurant. We were greeted very warmly, and even though we hadn't made a reservation, we were shown to a table within minutes. The food was absolutely delicious 😋, just thinking about it makes my mouth water 🤤😁. The service, the atmosphere, and the value for money were all top-notch. Highly recommended.

Simply wow. If I could, I'd give this place a Michelin star. We were lucky enough to get a table for four without a reservation (next time, I'd definitely book), and we didn't regret it for a second. Admittedly, it was my first visit to a proper Vietnamese restaurant, so I stuck to the house specialties to get an authentic experience. We were amazed by the freshness and quality of the ingredients, and the taste and presentation were equally impressive. My son had the incredibly delicious "Deluxe" sushi menu, which, just like the fantastic lava cake, was served with a visual highlight that you absolutely have to see. I won't reveal what it is just yet, in case anyone wants to be surprised. In any case, the presentation of all the dishes was on a level that you rarely experience. Contrary to some (mostly older) reviews here, I was impressed by the team's performance: everything ran perfectly smoothly despite the restaurant being packed, so we hardly had to wait at all (only towards the end did we have to be a little patient to order dessert). At no point did we feel like we'd been given the last available table without a reservation. We will definitely be back as a family, and our companion will also highly recommend this restaurant.

While in Leipzig, I had the pleasure of discovering the Mami Viet restaurant, an authentic and welcoming establishment. The staff is adorable, attentive, and very kind. The cocktails are perfectly made, and the food is excellent, prepared with very high-quality products. The quality/price ratio is truly excellent! A place not to be missed.

I went to the breakfast buffet. It was quite okay and tasty, the staff was friendly, and the basics were there, and they were refilled and served new items. But there's definitely room for improvement.

One star for the friendly delivery man and one star for the fast delivery. BUT if I'd never eaten sushi before, I wouldn't want to eat it again. Baked shrimp was raw, Spiced tuna was bland, not even close to spicy, and the salmon mackerel tasted like sneakers and was tough. €40 is now unfortunately going in the trash.

Fantastic! Super delicious food! I've eaten there and ordered from there, and it's fantastic every time. The service is absolutely legendary. Once, the delivery person waited at my door for 10 minutes because I was running late and wasn't there. Attached are pictures from when I ordered. There was simply so much delicious pho bo that I couldn't even finish half.

We've been regular customers at this restaurant. The food isn't bad, but the service gets worse every time. Today we waited for over 30 minutes, but no server came to us! The dining room was only a third full. We simply left because not even asking for drinks for over half an hour is simply disrespectful to the customers.

We were guests here today and were absolutely thrilled. The service was very friendly, the lemonades were delicious, and the food was super tasty. The whole family was extremely satisfied. Anyone who finds fault with anything here should cook their own vegan meals at home. Many thanks to the team, we'll be back.

Yes, don't reserve via Quandoo. The owner of the restaurant does not receive any notification of your reservation and sends you home because he no longer has a table available.

All in all a really great evening, the food was very nicely prepared, drinks too! The dessert was my highlight (black rice) really great! Great atmosphere with the facility. And now a bit of nice criticism (my own opinion) :) I would prefer quieter, slower music, maybe even something Vietnamese. The duck fillet was a bit tough. The salad could also be a bit more Vietnamese, it was just iceberg etc.

Nom nom nom! Edit : Downgrade because the location got worse over time. First, you need to wait a long time until the waitress takes your order. Then the food is sadly not that tasty anymore. Also, recently loud autotune music is playing in the background, which is freakin tedious and taking away from the former Asian athmosphere.

Tried to go here twice. The first time, we waited for about 20 minutes during dinner. No one came to get drink orders after we sat down or even acknowledged we were there. We ended up leaving. Second time, we went during lunch. We thought maybe the first time was just unlucky. Again, we were sat and waited about 20 minutes and still no one came by to get drink orders. I don't mind waiting if I have a drink to sip on, but I'm not going to sit for half an hour and twiddle my thumbs so that I can pay you for food. Needless to say, I have no idea how the food is because I'm not waiting that long just to get drinks.

We tried to eat here twice. Each time we waited at least 30 minutes for service, to no avail - the waiters ignored us the entire time, even when we tried to make eye contact. The restaurant wasn't even half full... The place itself is really nice and cozy but unfortunately not recommended because you can't order anything!

Really great Vietnamese restaurant! Beautifully designed and you feel very comfortable. The kitchen has some traditional dishes but of course also the classics like fried noodles with duck! And it's a dream! Of course with a delicious crust, nice and crunchy but with good meat! There were also both alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails. Highly recommended in Lindenau!

Mami is my go to Vietnamese in the west of Leipzig. I almost always order here for delivery or pickup. In my opinion, the food stands out from the run-of-the-mill Vietnamese food and we have never been disappointed in terms of taste.

There were five of us. We waited over 45 minutes for the food and when we asked, the reason given was “You can see what’s going on here”. In our room, all the seats except ours were either empty or finished eating. The better choice is to simply tell the customer when ordering that it will take longer so that expectations can be adjusted accordingly. Unfortunately, the quality of the food was only mediocre, one was super sweet, the other was more neutral and not excitingly Asian, the sauces felt thickened. We gave the feedback directly to the service staff when she asked whether it was tasty, but there was no response. The cutlery provided wasn't enough for 5, we also had to mention it because it wasn't seen. Two starters were ordered and one was delivered. Forgotten or ignored when ordering. The table was only half cleared, no question was asked as to whether we had another wish or wanted the bill. We had to go back to the front and let you know. The toilet: one of the 4 or 5 women's toilets had toilet paper, all the others were empty, so I asked another guest if he could pass paper over from the men's toilet. All in all, not a good experience.

Absolute recommendation!! This evening we decided to cook at short notice and stopped by Mama Viet. A decision that we definitely did not regret. We chose the surprise menu for two and got our money's worth: From the soup and salmon salad as a starter to the noodles with duck, beef rice and vegetables as the main course, to the mango cream and the filled mochi as dessert, every meal was perfectly coordinated! Food at star chef level. The atmosphere inside was very cozy and relaxed, the service was very courteous and always there at the right time. This definitely wasn't our last visit!

Food and drinks are delicious. The selection of vegetarian dishes could be larger. There are hardly any vegan dishes. Attention, even if no animal products are labeled, it's better to ask! A bit expensive for the area. Service is friendly, but sometimes takes a little longer.

To recommend! We like to go to this restaurant with the whole family. There are great homemade lemonades and lots of different dishes to choose from. The prices have increased slightly over time, but the price-performance ratio is definitely right here. So far we have always been satisfied and full ;) P.s.: Also recommended with children!

Anyone who knows (Southeast) Asian cuisine sees room for improvement here. The vegetables from the wog were obviously blanched throughout and were anything but fresh and crisp. Overall: Okay, but there are better alternatives.

Mommy Viet Had very tasty food delivered during the pandemic, the food is high quality. Visually appealing, it's worth it with the portions. Children pay half. Wir waren spontan im Restaurant da wir im Hotel übernachtet haben. Das Ambiente ist wirklich schön und der Service sehr nett. Das essen war super lecker! Meine Freundin hatte die Udon Nudeln und ich den Reis mit Hähnchenspießen. Der Erdnussdip war göttlich. Fleisch war sehr zart und schön kross. Es gab auch vegane Speisen und der Preis war völlig in Ordnung - wir hatten mit mehr gerechnet. Sehr lecker und auf jeden Fall zu empfehlen.

The food was very well and the prices are medium for these quality. The first vine which we tried was not the best choice so we switched to Chardonnay and honestly we waited long for our drinks but the food arrived quicker 👌
