It's not a cheap place, but the expectations of reasonable value for money are fully met. The reservation via the online portal worked well, but wouldn't have been necessary at the time of our visit, so we were able to choose our own seating. Our five-year-old was given priority service so that the child wouldn't die of boredom and extreme hunger. The child had to eat gluten-free, and the service was fully aware of this and was able to accommodate this need without any problems. We had a pasta and a fish dish. Both were really very good and portioned and prepared appropriately for the price. The service was remarkable. The young man was extremely courteous, yet seemed natural and unpretentious. Always present when needed, reserved when we just wanted to eat in peace. The staff member who served the food also seamlessly integrated this pleasant friendliness. We would eat at this restaurant again anytime because it was delicious and the surroundings were simply perfect.

The plaice was delicious, the fried potatoes were wonderfully crispy, and the salad was dressed with a slightly sweet dressing, typical of the region. Despite being seated on a side street, the place was quiet, and the service was very friendly, attentive, and courteous. Prices were still reasonable.

A very successful evening! All of their requests were met, the children were great, and the staff was consistently friendly! The five of us enjoyed the bruschetta, the homemade farmer's cheese, five different main courses, and three desserts! All of them were delicious. The chocolate soufflé was particularly outstanding. We ate here, everything was very tasty, and even came here several times just for drinks. We'll be back and will always have our main meals here.

It was an all-around successful evening. I ordered the roulade – it was excellently prepared, tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. I chose a Pinot Gris to accompany it, which, despite its rather unusual combination with meat, went wonderfully with it. Its mild acidity made it an excellent choice. The ambiance was maritime and in keeping with the North Sea theme. The table was lovingly and attractively set, which further enhanced the pleasant atmosphere. I would particularly like to highlight the waitress: Although she hasn't been with the team for long, she was well-trained and provided first-class service – friendly, attentive, and competent. I highly recommend this location and thank you for a very enjoyable evening. I'd love to come back!

Super friendly service, a great atmosphere, and good value for money. We were looking for a restaurant for lunch, and the first few restaurants/cafés we visited only served coffee and cake. We found what we were looking for at Restaurant Leuchtfeuer.

We were there twice 14 days ago and we liked it a lot. There have been other summers where we weren't so impressed.

Celebrated my mother's 90th birthday there. The staff was very attentive. The food was excellent, and even my mother's special requests were fulfilled. The ambiance was very tastefully decorated. It was a wonderful day. Thank you so much.

Very nice restaurant where you can also sit outside. The service was very attentive and communicative. Food: Starter: East Frisian tartare. It was actually delicious, but seasoning four different types of fish the same is a bit unimaginative. Main Course: Currywurst with fries - you can't go wrong, although I didn't like the fries. That might be because I'm sick of fries. And I had the schnitzel with a fried egg and fried potatoes. That was unfortunately a disappointment. The schnitzel was bone dry, as were the fried potatoes. The fried egg had already developed a skin. It must have been sitting under the heat bridge too long. Conclusion: I give the food 3.5 stars. However, I clicked 4 stars instead of 3 because I've been there before for the goose dinner, and it was excellent.

The selection is large, but what makes a good visit? That's right: good quality, good service, and good entertainment. The redfish fillet and the chicken breast Milano impressed with... the fact that there was nothing to complain about. The craftsmanship was convincing and the taste was spot on. The service was well organized and always attentive to the guests, even though the outdoor area was almost completely full. (Good orchestration between the salesperson and the runner.) The highlight, however, was Mike, who maintained contact with every table and whose cheerful – sometimes comedic – remarks appealed to every guest. Here, someone with both catering and sales talent still fights for every schnapps, and we, too, would have skipped dessert without his relaxed manner. It would probably have been a shame to miss the red fruit compote and the gentle angel. You'll quickly become a repeat customer here. The ambiance would have received full stars, but unfortunately, the shading isn't yet advanced enough to allow you to read the digital menus from every seat without glare.

I highly recommend this restaurant. The food (North Sea plaice) was fantastic. It's ideal for people with allergies. If the server can't provide information, the chef will come out of the kitchen and explain it to the guest.

Very friendly staff. They're also very child-friendly; they bring coloring materials after ordering. Ambience 11/10. The menu is on iPads, which is something new for the kids, too, compared to holding a menu in their hands. The food was also very delicious. We celebrated my son and daughter-in-law's wedding here. The loving and stylish decor, right down to the details of the delicious food, such as the heart-shaped noodles in the appetizer soup, delighted me and all of our guests.

We were there early in the evening and immediately got a table on the terrace (free seating). The service was fast, the staff friendly. The food (fish platter) was mixed… the fish was cooked a bit overcooked, the fried potatoes were fried in a looooot of fat, and the portion wasn't huge. All in all, it wasn't bad, but nothing to shout about either, and at €26.90, it was a bit pricey. The second dish (baked potato) was bland and flavorful. €15.50 for a large potato with quark is quite a statement. A second visit? Probably not. There are other options in Horumersiel and the surrounding area 😊

We had a very good meal here and sat in a very pleasant atmosphere. There's a lot to choose from (tarte flambée, salads, burgers, fish, meat, pasta...); the "Frisian tapas" were unfortunately lacking in flavor. Overall, it also turned out that there were too few tablet menus available. And unfortunately, there was no drinks menu. But: The pasta and steak were delicious! The espresso was very tasty! As mentioned, the atmosphere was very nice, and the service was really very good. Plenty of staff, which means quick service :) We'd love to come back 😀 P.S.: For families: children's menu and changing table! :)

June 20, 2025 We were there again earlier than planned today and didn't regret stopping by Leuchtfeuer for a second. Starting with a top-quality beer and a very tasty crab soup, the main course was a fantastic "Labskaus." Finishing with a chilled caraway seed, we went home or to our accommodations very satisfied, looking forward to returning here in September for culinary delights. April 21, 2025 For our 30th wedding anniversary, we wanted to travel back to the East Frisian North Sea coast and cap off this special day with a meal at one of our favorite restaurants. We were able to experience this more than successfully today at the "Restaurant Leuchtfeuer Horumersiel." From the planning last year to today's execution, the service staff was perfectly helpful. From the table reservation to the wonderful, occasion-specific table decoration, simply perfect. They also helped us with further questions about getting to the actual holiday destination of Werdum. We were able to arrange for a rental car service from Wittmund to drive us safely there and back. Now for the main point: The reception at the hotel was very friendly, and we were shown to our festively decorated table. The service staff practically anticipated our every wish. They recommended an excellent dry white wine, and the subsequent menu left nothing to be desired. As a Rhinelander, I later left the wine to my wife and then enjoyed a few superbly chilled Jever beers. The food was, as always, simply fantastic, and we'll be back in September to remember how warmly we were welcomed and entertained here. Thank you for the wonderful evening. Update 2024: Still TOP. A waiter who knows his craft and is ready for any kind of fun for young and old. Keep it up. Highly recommended. Nice atmosphere, super friendly staff. A varied menu at reasonable prices. We've known this restaurant for over 30 years. Overall, the quality has declined over the last two or three years. The fried potatoes in my regular dish have always been too soft. Apparently, they're kept warm for too long and then become too greasy. This has been mentioned elsewhere. The salad came after the meal and wasn't handled appropriately. But we'll give you another chance.

I would not recommend this place as the food isn't fresh, a lot of convenience products for pretty high level prices. Staff is super friendly, but that doesn't make us come back. Super disappointing.

I was served the worst fried potatoes

We ate there on Mother's Day (May 11, 2025). The asparagus served was very firm, almost raw. Furthermore, both the asparagus and the potatoes were lukewarm. The hollandaise sauce was inedible; it was made with white wine. This additive wasn't declared on the menu. We were given melted butter as a substitute. We were very disappointed with Leuchtfeuer. What a shame...

Very good food and nice atmosphere.

I can't understand how other reviewers can give this one or two stars. We go to a restaurant to have a delicious meal in a nice atmosphere and good service. And that was the case here. We had reserved in advance and were there with our dog. My wife and I had two asparagus dishes and two variations of tartufo for dessert. Plus an aperitif beforehand and wine with your meal. Everything was super delicious. Many thanks also to the staff for the pleasant hospitality!

The tax office: please keep an eye on it! You ask for the receipt and only receive a so-called advance invoice (it looks like a receipt, but it isn't). Now the cash collected could bypass the tax authorities. No matter how good the food is, it still has a stale taste.

Review for the Horumersiel lighthouse The beacon in Horumersiel is a real insider tip on the North Sea. As soon as you enter the restaurant you can feel the cozy and maritime atmosphere, which fits perfectly with the coastal location. The staff is friendly, attentive and warm - you immediately feel welcome. The menu offers a nice selection of North German specialties, fresh fish and regional ingredients. The location is ideal: with a view of the water or after a walk through the town, the beacon is the perfect place for a break. The price is fair, especially considering the quality of the food and service. Conclusion: If you are in Horumersiel, you should definitely pay a visit to the beacon. A place to feel good and enjoy – absolutely recommended!

Unfortunately disappointing - the bright spot was the service Our visit to the Leuchtfeuer restaurant in Horumersiel today was unfortunately a bitter disappointment. For a dish with half a pound of asparagus (€15.50) and two roasted lamb fillets (€16.50) - a total of €32 - we expected significantly more quality. The portion was quite manageable. After all: the three asparagus spears tasted excellent. The lamb fillets, on the other hand, were unfortunately completely cooked through and very dry - simply disappointing. After we expressed our surprise, the waitress brought a third lamb fillet from the kitchen, which looked and tasted much better - juicy and tender. Why not like that? The service tried hard to save the situation and is definitely positive. Friendly, attentive and eager to make amends. Praise for that. However, the kitchen was not convincing - at least not consistently. Unfortunately, anyone who has to point out quality issues before a dish is worth its price will not come back.

Very friendly, attentive staff, a clear menu, from the starters to the dessert everything was very tasty and freshly prepared. The restaurant is in the middle of town, it has an outdoor area, a restaurant and a separate dining room. We returned there after a long time and will now be happy to see you there again and again.

We were there with four adults and 5 children. The outside area was very nice, the service was very friendly and helpful and the food was delicious! The fish platter was on point. The children's plates were very generous and, according to the accompaniment, the asparagus salad was also delicious. We can only recommend the restaurant.

Great service and great food. We went to the restaurant for dinner with 4 adults and a baby. Shortly before the food arrived, the child became a little restless and was then pushed around in the stroller in an area where there were no guests. When the food came, the waitress even offered to push the stroller so we could all eat. We politely declined and the food was kept warm. A really very friendly and customer-oriented service. In general, everyone was very friendly and extremely committed. The food was very tasty and the price was really good. We would love to come back on our next vacation.

That was probably nothing. We were hungry for a delicious schnitzel with fried potatoes. And then we returned to the beacon full of expectations. The service was very polite and nice. The atmosphere was cozy, but when the food came we were a bit confused. We're not the kind of eaters who expect quantities, but for a schnitzel with fried potatoes that costs over €20, you can expect a little more. But what was really not good in our opinion was the entire meal. When the food was served, everything was swimming in grease. The fried potatoes were so greasy that they couldn't be fried until crispy. The same with the schnitzel. In short… If you like greasy and wobbly food, this is the place for you. Unfortunately, the whole fun cost €60 including drinks... which isn't really a problem, but unfortunately it wasn't for that. The waitress offered us a drink, but we politely declined.

The Leuchtfeuer restaurant is a really cozy, beautiful restaurant with a great ambience. The service is very friendly and accommodating. The drinks are at the table quickly and the food is on point. The made herb quark with the foil potatoes is also very, very tasty. It was a bit of a shame that the mussels are currently not available. Therefore a star deduction for the food. Otherwise, all in all a very nice restaurant and a real recommendation. We'd love to come back!

Price performance is standard. Unfortunately the food wasn't that great. It tastes bland and simple. Service staff friendly but slightly overwhelmed. Watch sports on several TVs.

Ordered the Champion Schnitzel to take away. The schnitzel was really small. It wasn't even 100g. You couldn't really eat the champions. Some were woody. For €22 you can really expect more.
