Restaurant Leander im GOP Kaiserpalais in Bad Oeynhausen

We've been to the buffet several times and it's been perfect every time. Delicious and plentiful selection of food, freshly prepared, great atmosphere. But what I'd most like to highlight is the consistently friendly and helpful staff, whether in the restaurant or at the show in the GOP; we've never had a different experience. I've very rarely encountered such wonderful service staff.

Absolutely top-notch! The evening was perfect, as always! The service was incredibly friendly and professional! The older waiter is a must-have! He's indispensable! Always friendly and up for a laugh! Superb! The food was of exceptionally high quality without exception!!! A perfect 10 in every category!!! 🍀🍀🍀💪🏻 Thank you!

We were there for brunch on Sunday! Great selection, and the price of €34 is totally reasonable! The service was excellent. Super friendly staff! We had two children, ages three and four, with us. The kids were free! This won't be the last time we're there! It was fantastic! Thank you.

We had a company dinner with a buffet. Very well presented and delicious!

It's a shame that a restaurant that offers a vegetarian and a meat menu doesn't know what "vegetarian" means. The soup, which was the same on both menus, was a parmesan soup, and parmesan is made with animal rennet, meaning it's not vegetarian. When the waitress asked us if everything was okay, we pointed this out to her or asked her to pass it on to the kitchen. We also said that, of course, it wasn't her fault. She said that we must be vegan then and became rude. No alternatives were offered. The restaurant's reaction was very unfortunate and unacceptable. We actually spoke to the waitress politely. Because of this reaction, we will not be visiting the restaurant again. Whether vegetarian or not, dealing with guests and criticism in this way says a lot.

Unfortunately, I had a bad experience today after an organized family photoshoot. We had planned to have something nice to drink at the spa gardens, but the waiter told us it was already 1:25 p.m. and the indoor area would close at 2:00 p.m. We pointed out that there was plenty of time – but again, he received very unfriendly reactions and comments. An absolute no-go in the restaurant industry! Not to be taken lightly! 400 meters away, there are very busy, open ice cream parlors and cafés that take excellent care of their customers. What a shame!

The restaurant is very nice and the food is really good. With the variety of dishes, there's something for every taste. Combined with the show at the GOP, the whole thing is a no-obligation experience. If you're looking for something special for yourself, with your partner, or with your family, this is the place to be.

We ate at Leander with the family and were very satisfied; the service staff, in particular, were very attentive and friendly.

I wouldn't recommend it, as the food was cheaper on the menu, and then, dubiously, the bill was €3 more expensive. That alone makes it my first and last time. I'm not interested in an excuse, so I can skip the standard answer.

A complete impertinence..... We booked the Mediterranean buffet with four people for €32 per person - you have to pay in advance, which I find borderline ridiculous. Then they specify a time period of 2.5 hours, starting at 7:45 p.m. We were there for 7:45 p.m. and went to the buffet for the first time shortly after 8 p.m. Various dishes were almost or completely sold out. For example, a garlic dip: the plate was completely empty of bread the entire time, and NOTHING was refilled. The same thing happened with various pasta dishes: there were only leftovers in the pans; if they were all gone, they were all gone – and this despite the fact that several employees were present in the kitchen (around which the buffet is built), apparently no one was in charge. The same story with desserts: 2 large casserole dishes of tiramisu: 1.5 of them empty (at around 8:10 p.m.) – no refills here either – other desserts in small glasses were placed next to them. At that point, there were still about 20 glasses left, but when we went to get dessert around 9:15 p.m., there were maybe 5 left.... No words. And then the bombshell: at 9:40 p.m., we were told they were doing the last round, and if we wanted any more drinks, we would have to order now.... We politely declined. Another 10 minutes later, we were asked to pay for the drinks, as they were about to close. We pointed out that the booking stated that they were booked until 10:15 p.m., and were told that only 2 tables were still occupied, so it was closing time soon. In addition, the show at the GOP ended shortly afterward, and people who wanted a drink came along, but they were also turned away. Honestly, dear Leander: SERVICE is better. And then such high prices... THANK YOU - Never again Addendum to your reply: We were there with four people, and they will all tell you the same thing. Nothing was refilled. It's a shame that your employees are saying otherwise and pretending this wasn't the case - perhaps they should have simply taken pictures of the empty state of your buffet... but I thought you were open about criticism and learned from your mistakes. But unfortunately, apparently not.

We and our family once again had a lovely stay at the Leander. The service staff were always very friendly and accommodating. The Mediterranean buffet was delicious. However, the roasts and the highchairs deserve more attention! The roasts were cut up and dry (perhaps the roast pieces should be cut by professionals). The highchairs, in particular, should be checked – wobbly, loose seat boards, loose frames and crossbars, and in considerable need of cleaning! We also had a special reservation for a highchair, but unfortunately, it wasn't at the table. We had to get one ourselves, which we first had to screw on and clean (the third chair was usable). Nevertheless, we would be happy to come back.

What a cheeky brash waiter. The restaurant was (still). closed, the chairs chained outside. Because of the heat, I wanted to rest in the shade for a moment. As soon as I sat down, this rude guy came out and chased me away. This behavior is a disgrace to the cultured place. Other guests had also had to deal with this guy. Strong recommendation: FIRE! IMMEDIATELY!!

Very tasty food, unfortunately very small portions.

We had two pizzas. Good taste. Unfortunately the boards were already completely screwed up. Cutting the pizza caused wood to come loose and it was uncomfortable to eat like that. With a bit of caution it was possible to eat without wood. Good selection of food and also suitable for vegetarians. Unfortunately, the end was like being thrown out. I definitely understand economic activity. However, I think it's inappropriate to do the last lap at 7:35 p.m. Saying you have to pay immediately and then saying at 8pm sharp that everyone has to leave now. Our drinks had been at our table for less than 10 minutes. Unfortunately, absolutely disappointing.

We went to Leander for brunch for the third time today. There is nothing to complain about, the food, service and ambience are really top. Rich selection at the buffet, there really is something for everyone. Very friendly and attentive staff. We'd love to come back.

I was here again for a large event hosted by a business partner. And this time too I can say: Super nice atmosphere, very courteous and fast service staff and delicious food. I'm already looking forward to the next time.

We were at this restaurant as part of an event. The food was very successful. The salads and vegetables were fresh, the meat was on point. A wonderful atmosphere in the restaurant. The staff is friendly and accommodating. We would be happy to come back.

Were there with 6 people on Saturday. €32 is reasonable for such a large selection of food. Some of the food was very good, some of it wasn't. You can reserve a table at two times, the second half starts at 7:45 p.m. Unfortunately, there isn't much time to linger and sometimes dishes like dessert aren't replenished, so you have to eat what's left. At 10 p.m. the waiter came to the table and asked if we wanted to order one last round of drinks (a good 2 hours after we arrived). When we asked if they were closing right away, we were told that we could still sit in peace, but the counter staff would no longer be economical at this time, so they would now send them home. It was unfortunately very disappointing that on such an expensive evening you were forced to drink up after just 2 hours. Even if the bar staff no longer earns as much towards the end, as the owner you should still spend the entire evening as a basis, as other restaurants do.

Sorry, but I find what would be possible below. Not great service, the food not a revelation, nice atmosphere but unfortunately loud and crowded.

Unfortunately the food was lukewarm to cold, which is a shame for the price. After speaking to the waitress, all that was said was 'the food is always made fresh', which wasn't even an issue, then came the statement 'then just go again'. No more noise was said when paying, no thanks were given when giving money or anything else. We are very disappointed and will definitely not be coming back.

A really great and extensive buffet, tastes great and has something for everyone. But unfortunately there are also major points of criticism. Food, if at all, lukewarm. Okay, I can live with that, it's just a buffet. But if I can't make a reservation until 7:45 p.m. and the buffet is offered until 10 p.m. according to the website, then it's absurd to me that it's dismantled at 9:15 p.m. After ordering drinks, the first course to the buffet at 8 p.m. So 1 hour and 15 minutes to eat in peace? Unfortunately it doesn't suit me. The food justifies the price of a good €50 per person (including drinks), but unfortunately the time doesn't justify it at all. There is no longer any dessert. From 8 p.m. onwards, the staff is busy setting up the tables around you for Sunday brunch. On the one hand, it's completely understandable, but on the other hand, it gives you the feeling that, dear guest, please finally get up. So unfortunately I don't recommend it.

Actually, this restaurant could also be an outdoor experience because you have a wonderful view over the great spa gardens. Unfortunately, we have been disappointed several times in the summer when the weather was good because it wasn't open outside. Too bad!

We went to Leander Restaurant for brunch before the show at GOP. Very attentive staff. Excellent cold and warm dishes. Well-to-do audience. Free guarded cloakroom at the main entrance on the right. Very clean toilets.

As always, a really, really great buffet with a wide selection, very good quality and great service staff. We always enjoy going there and always discovering new things. Price/performance is right. There is nothing comparable in the surrounding area. Keep it up.

A few months ago I ate at Leander and was totally thrilled and had to eat there on my wedding day and show my husband and children how good it was...unfortunately the waiter wasn't in a good mood...when we came in my husband was jostled by the waiter... I don't know if it was a mistake... and later he didn't even say goodbye or anything... a young guy like that should maybe look for something else where he doesn't have so much contact with guests ..food and ambience is excellent there and highly recommended..we just had a bad day with the waiter..maybe that will happen too... Nevertheless, the store is recommended

The price-performance ratio at brunch is unbeatable! There is so much choice at both breakfast and lunch buffets for €32 per person. Breakfast: various. Rolls, cold cuts, muesli, cottage cheese, fruit, scrambled eggs, sausages, salmon, vegetables, salads, waffles, pancakes, etc. And all drinks from the fully automatic machine, juices, teas, all included. There is already a pot of filter coffee on the table Lunch buffet: various. Meat, various side dishes such as baked vegetables, rosemary potatoes, various pasta dishes, pizzas, croquettes, meat, etc. Various desserts 🍧🍮 You can see the preparation live. As a vegetarian, I found a lot 🌱 We were assigned a personal waitress to our table. Really very good service! Absolutely recommended! We will come back 💯👍🏼

The staff, especially the bartender, were really nice, unfortunately there was no Tequila Sunrise on offer, which is what you would expect from an establishment like this. At least I now know that Long Island Ice tea doesn't contain any iced tea at all. ;)

We were there for brunch and were amazed by the selection at breakfast and lunch. Apart from that, the service staff were very courteous and polite. Even with the number of visitors, they didn't look stressed but took time for us. The ambience outside was also very nice, the walk after dinner was really relaxing. Overall, a great experience, gladly again!

We (2 adults, 1 child) were at Leander on December 30th, 2023, before the GOP Varieté visit, and can only say: Great, fantastic, great......keep it up!!!! It's been a long time since I've seen such polite, attentive and quick staff. Everyone in service is really top notch. Special thanks to Tobias M. for the great service at table ?!58?! (At the back of the head, next to Zara). The buffet is mega and super tasty too. The on-site chefs always add fresh food. The atmosphere is really very nice. We had dinner at the GOP and previously at the Leander. Had the front cooking buffet. Simply fantastic. The selection of starters, main courses and then the selection for the front cooking buffet. There was deer, beef, pork, fish, veal and lots of ingredients for them. The price-performance ratio is great. Always my pleasure. We were there again yesterday and it was again very tasty..

Top restaurant with excellent food. Very good selection of food at fair prices. Very good and professional service. A nice end to a visit to the GOP Theater. Highly recommended.

We had brunch today at Leander, it was great...the selection of food, the ambience and big praise for the service. Very accommodating and friendly. In addition, the staff slows down the guest with their calm and you are happy to stay there for a few hours. Big compliment, keep it up

We took part in the Mediterranean buffet at Leander last Saturday. For the meat eaters everything was fine and dandy...but for the vegetarians among us there was far too little on offer, basically just side dishes. Far too expensive and absolutely not recommended. In addition, the dishes were not labeled as vegetarian, so you had to laboriously ask around or try them. This is absolutely out of date! We recommend adapting to vegetarians, e.g. offering a pumpkin seed soup or zucchini fritters with herb curd or something similar... there are so many delicious vegetarian dishes that meat eaters also like.

Ich hatte die Pizza mit Trüffelsauce, Klosterschinken, Walnüsse, Mozzarella und frischen Trüffel, einfach 1a👌🏼 Dazu einen 2017 Riesling aus der Pfalz vom Weingut Hochdörffer, der war Spitze Für diese Pizza und ein Glas 0.2 l 27 Euro zu bezahlen ist meiner Meinung nach schon ein top Preisleistungsverhältnis. Kann das Leander nur empfehlen in Bad Oeynhausen

Unfortunately not recommended. Combined with a visit to the GOP, we booked a package that included a 3-course menu. (For your understanding, there are 3 choices per course, so plenty of preparation for the kitchen) The greeting from the kitchen was average but OK. The entrée was good. The main course (fish and steak) came after over an hour and only after request and now 45 minutes before the start of the performance. The steak was well done, totally dead (by the way, I wasn't asked how I would like it?????) Of course I complained. My wife's fish was fine the first time. 2nd attempt, steak slightly better, the fish and my wife's side dishes lukewarm. Dinner stopped, show begins. Leander's solution: Dessert was brought into the hall and we could order a drink outside of the package we had booked. At just under 70 euros per person including specified drinks (only for the meal), we recommend eating out in Bad Oeynhausen beforehand and then watching the great programs at the GOP.

I have to say, I have rarely eaten such good pizza! Black dough, made with charcoal, truffle sauce, monastery ham, walnuts, mozzarella and shaved fresh truffle, tastes great and accompanied by a wonderful 2017 Riesling from the Palatinate from the Hochdörffer winery. Everything just fit together. A very clear recommendation and all for 27 euros 👌🏼

It is absolutely recommended - the event was well organized. The food was excellent and the service was exorbitantly great. We'll be back

Often great solo musicians on Wednesdays🎤🎸 A perfect service, especially from the very attentive Arne Wolff Gladly every day (unfortunately Mondays and Tuesdays are closed 😉) - the staff is happy with it. If Bad Oeynhausen, then not without the “Leander”!

There were more delicious dishes at the buffet than I have ever experienced before. This is worth every penny. The combination with the performance was the best choice, Do it!

After the show in the variety show, go to the Leander restaurant. This is also an experience. The atmosphere is very appealing. The large window fronts make the restaurant very bright and allow a view of the park. The food is offered as a buffet. The selection is really big and everything tastes good. You can't go wrong here. Absolute recommendation.

We were invited. Good atmosphere, very nice staff and the food was very tasty.

When making a reservation by phone (the lady was very friendly) I had to provide the address, email address and telephone number and received a confirmation email, which unfortunately didn't mean we actually got a table. The on-site service person was very rude when she couldn't find my name on the list. She then, rather reluctantly, placed us outside. From then on things didn't get any better. They announced that it would take a little longer. It took 80 minutes for our food to arrive; we had to organize drinks ourselves because no one asked if we wanted anything else. When our food came, the waiter started chaining the tables and us around, which didn't help create a comfortable atmosphere. We wouldn't eat there again.

The service is okay, the ambience is very nice but the food is nothing really special. We had a buffet and somehow it was almost all things that you could cook exactly the same at home. So I don't see any reason to eat here again. Food-wise, nothing special. Simply too expensive for that.

A very successful meal in front of the GOP Varieté. We had time to try all the delicacies from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. There was something for everyone here, whether meat eaters or vegetarians. Show Menu: Menu changed 1 week before ordering without being informed. We automatically received the fish menu. The menu cannot be customized in the restaurant. The second selection menu must be expressly ordered in advance. Service is based on an advertisement on the Internet. The problem: the reservation was made over the phone and we were not informed of it. Service based on the motto "take this, otherwise you won't get anything". Disastrous service!

I have been a guest at Leander three times. Always top service and very good fresh food. We should also mention Mr. Hildbrandt, who made it possible for us to get a table twice despite the house being sold out. The holistic concept is really very good.

The breakfast brunch on Sunday is excellent. Very good price/performance ratio. Both breakfast and hot lunch are very rich with high quality products. Drinks are included (excluding soft drinks and alcohol). Service is professional and unobtrusive in a positive sense. A real recommendation.

A very, very good and tasty restaurant. The live cooking buffet is always a delicious experience and worth the price. The drinks are also served very nicely, especially the Limoment lemonade. There are always enough waitresses running around clearing plates or taking orders. A very, very pleasant restaurant that I can only recommend to everyone!

Wir waren hier zum Firmenessen. Die Qualität und Auswahl des Essens würde ich als gut bis sehr gut bewerten. Die Geschwindigkeit bei der Getränkebestellung bis zur Lieferung ist unterirdisch. Sowohl auf die zweite Wasserflasche als auch auf den Espresso mussten wir ca. 15 min warten. Nach der zweiten Runde haben wir es dann aufgegeben irgendwas zu bestellen. Auch die Arroganz des Kellners der die Getränkebestellung zu Beginn aufnahm und alles im Kopf zu behalten schien war beim Begleichen der Rechnung im Höhepunkt angelangt. Es gab keine Begrüßung, kein Lächeln, keine Einweisung zum Buffet, auch keine Verabschiedung dafür ein wirklich arrogantes, Hinklatschen der Rechnung.. Die GOP Show war ausnahmslos super, aber das Restaurant empfehle ich zumindest für Gruppen nicht weiter

Ich kann manche Rezensionen absolut nicht nachvollziehen. Die Auswahl, Qualität & Geschmack, Ambiente ist der absolute Wahnsinn. Personal ist sehr freundlich und stets bemüht. Wir kommen gerne wieder !

Für so ein Restaurant in dieser Location erwarte ich Bedienung und A la Carte Essen... Für mich gehört Buffet nicht dort hin... Sorry
