The food was delicious and came promptly after ordering

Cozy pub restaurant with many regular guests, a wide range of food that mostly tastes good. In summer you can sit comfortably on the terrace at Bergedorf harbor. I like the service as it is, a large part of the staff has been on board for many years - Update: Statements also apply in the post-corona era and after the harbor bank was converted into a restaurant mile, it has tables for two and four in three rows, looks good

Unfortunately, the quality has deteriorated significantly, but the prices have been raised disproportionately. The toilet is still in a pitiful condition. It's a shame what happened to the restaurant...

We were there for brunch. Among other things, croissants, cheese and natural yogurt and various breads are advertised. There were no croissants, no bread, no natural yogurt and only one type of cheese. Overall, the offering was poor for brunch and simply not of high quality, there were no signs anywhere about what it was (you can't clearly identify every dish). Unfortunately, I lack the love and choice to come back.

Normal cuisine. Consistent solid quality. Ideal for after sport as long opening times

Friendly service and good food. Guests don't expect anything more. A cozy atmosphere perhaps, but everyone will find “their” place here. If it's very crowded, it can get a little louder. The price-performance ratio is still right here. This is also a good place to meet with groups.

Kellner sehr unfreundlich, nicht aufmerksam. Essen und Getränke wurden nur so hingeknallt. Qualität sehr schlecht. Hack oder wie man das nennen soll, Breimasse, kein Geschmack. Das Essen: sehr kleine Portionen, teuer geworden. Wir sind das letzte Mal da. Gäste waren sonst gerne da, aber es wurde von Mal zu Mal schlechter. Schade.

We were here for the brunch buffet. We found a very rich and high-quality offering. We really liked the different degrees of doneness of the roast beef, which makes it clear how the different preferences of customers are taken into account. Cold and warm dishes, savory and sweet, fruity, there is something for everyone here. Coffee and juices are included in the affordable price. We'd love to come back.

I've eaten there twice now, really great, the waitress was very committed and attentive. Food great. I like the atmosphere too. I think happy hour from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., an excellent 0.5l mai tai for €7.90. I'm already looking forward to the next visit

Food was very tasty and freshly prepared. The service was super friendly, competent and always on hand. A visit is always worth it 😀👍

Two of the three meals were poor. The salad was completely soggy, the turkey pieces were tough with gristle, only the potato was good. The second time I ate it, the burger was so soggy that you couldn't hold it in your hand. We left more than half of both dishes behind. Comment from the waitress: We've always done it that way. We had to pay full price for the poor quality food and were only offered 1 coffee (for two poor meals). Without words.

Great breakfast. For 2 people €19.50. 2 rolls, croissant, smoked salmon with horseradish, scrambled eggs with crispy bacon, tender raw ham, cheese, fruit salad, small tomatoes with mozzarella balls, Nutella jam and coffee or tea. It was super tasty and impossible to make.

Extremely disappointed for the money you get here. I saved myself a drink because I don't want to support the prices. Cola 0.33ml for 4.90 euros and a water 0.75ml for 7.90 euros. This is no longer normal. The food was average and not recommended. Never come back.

Very tasty...., the staff are very friendly. We eat here often. When friends come to visit us outside of Hamburg, we definitely go to Lavastein with them.

To satisfy our little hunger we had 2 hamburgers. Ok, normal standard fare, price was right. The drinks prices are not acceptable, the prices here are high, non-alcoholic wheat beer 0.5 l for €6.90 is not available in a place like this! At the harbor in Hamburg good restaurant the same drink €5.90!!

I ordered a gentle angel (orange juice with a scoop of vanilla ice cream), but with 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream and not one. I was charged twice the price of the drink, i.e. almost €12 for orange juice with vanilla ice cream. More expensive than any cocktail on the menu. Unfortunately I only noticed it when I went out. I would never have paid for it. I would like to give zero stars for this cheeky rip-off.

I'm horrified. We wanted to go for breakfast and made a reservation for 9:00 a.m. When we got there at 8:50 we were told come back in 20 minutes, we're not open yet. When I said that we made a reservation at 9:00 a.m. and there were only 10 minutes until opening, the guy (probably the owner) said that he hadn't even changed yet and that the staff (bartender) hadn't sometimes there. I was a little horrified but oh well, we were back after 10 minutes, what is this guy doing? When he saw we were back, he just walked away. We went in, looked for a place and still no one came. We waited and waited, he didn't come. We then got up and had breakfast somewhere else. I'm wondering what kind of service is this? Where are we anyway? Well apparently the store has way too many customers for something like that. Never again👎🏻

The service was nice. The food was inedible, there were 4 of us there and we had to return 3 plates (fish and chanterelle dishes). Then we just ate pasta with tomato sauce...

Was incorrectly recommended to me as child-friendly. I ordered BabyChino for the children, which came in espresso cups and was then billed as espresso. I don't expect a Babychino to be free (which is often offered but you really can't afford it), but €2.90 for an espresso cup of milk is a disgrace. In addition, the waiter was slow and unfriendly and couldn't find the meal. That was the first time in my life that I didn't leave a tip.

Lavastein has been my favorite restaurant for a long time. The food is always good, the staff is always very friendly and it is very cozy there. There is also a bar and brunch every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., always delicious.

Ended up here by chance. Stay in the Hotel H4 around the corner. The food is really tasty and the price-performance ratio is right. Cocktails at happy hour (5 p.m.-12 a.m.) €7.99 and €8.99 are really delicious. The side salad for €3.50 is also good. Anna, our condition is friendly and helpful. After a long time we were back in the lava stone. We used to really like it there, but not this time. Overpriced, the waiter was very inattentive and the bruschetta we ordered consisted of huge pieces of tomato lying next to the bread, the bread itself tasted very much like garlic. Onions or brazil couldn't be found at all. Unfortunately, the other dishes we ordered were also very disappointing. It's a shame, it was my son's birthday and he wanted to go out for a delicious meal.

Very bad!! Basically frozen pizza for a price that is way too expensive. When paying, the waiter insisted that we pay in cash and complained to everyone who paid with a card... The only thing edible were the fries, the rest is not recommended.

Unfortunately the brunch wasn't really good. The quality of the food didn't seem very high. Some of the food wasn't really warm either. In addition, plates and glasses were not washed sufficiently. Instead of improving the service, the employee kept talking about what a great offer they had. The price in the end also shocked me, as the very high quality alternatives on the same street cost €5 less. Drinks are not included there. But you leave the store with a good feeling.

We were there for breakfast. We ordered 3 half rolls of our choice (€8.50) and a fruit salad (approx. €5). What we got was disappointing! The rolls were baked and the butter had flowed into the rolls. The surface is minimalist! But the fruit salad was the crowning glory: mini bowl with only melon pieces...it's a shame, we won't have breakfast here anymore!!

The food we ordered or the meat, a RIB eibeck steak, was so tough you could hardly cut it with a knife let alone eat it, it was full of tendons and almost raw. My comment was simply disgusting

I've been living in Bergedorf for 37 years now. Lava stone has never been as bad in all respects as it is today. The food leaves a lot to be desired, the service is noticeably annoyed and as a woman you are also hit on and harassed by the staff. The current owners really deserve this store to be boycotted. Save your money, because there are plenty of restaurants whose hearts are still in it. The lava stone should be absolutely avoided in its current condition. I don't want to speak of a recommendation at all.

Prices have risen extremely. Price-performance ratio is no longer right. Example: Homemade Lemonade Basil - ginger lemon Simply pure seltzer + 3 mint leaves, + 3 pieces of lime for €7.90 For that money I can get a good cocktail somewhere else. Disgraceful and unjustified. Lavastein used to be THE meeting place for young and old. The price-performance ratio was always good. The store was always packed - now only 40% full. But you really lose faith when you see the menu with the exorbitantly high prices. A Magherita pizza for €15 can't really be serious. I eat cheaper at every Italian restaurant and get a beautifully set table. The female waitress is very courteous and funny, while her male colleagues are very unmotivated and look grim. The competition in Bergedorf has become too great for Lavastein to be able to afford something like this.

We ate at the Lava Stone... We hoped for a little more. Overall it was okay... But not great... The service was nice when it got lost to our table. We sat at a table where the neighboring table was not far away... Which conjured up a canteen atmosphere

My personal experience with this restaurant is an amazing experience. Of course, the ambience on the water as well as in the restaurant is said to be a prison of any kind. The server is an enrichment for each individual, of course, the love of “Anna” can be seen in her tattoos, a very likeable woman known for her top server and her competence of all kinds whether it is improving the drinks or the food. Overall, a successful experience for everyone who comes here.

I've been in lava stone off and on for 30 years. What's nice is that everything actually always stays the same. The pizza is recommended. There is a lovely terrace overlooking the water. Parking in front of the restaurant is not possible, but there is a parking garage almost right next to it. The service is friendly and humorous.

Didn't think it was that great. Went towards mass processing, the team could be a little friendlier and smile sometimes. The noise level was quite considerable for a restaurant. Especially for breakfast you like things to be a little quieter.

Wir sind öfter mal hier, weil wir in der Nähe wohnen. Der Fitnessteller war wie immer o.k. Leider war das Matjes Hausfrauenart sehr schlecht. Die Bratkartoffeln weich und geschmacklos, viele Zwiebeln, die Sauce schien nicht frisch zu sein. Schade.

Ate something there again after a long time. Cheeseburgers and BBQ burgers. Not recommended. The subterranean fries tasted like they had been fried twice. Unfortunately, run-of-the-mill rolls, the bacon on the BBQ burger was dry and crumbled when cut. Think it was fried and not fried.

We can't say anything about the food as we only had something to drink. We sat down at a table and the waiter brought us the cards, very annoyed. Since we just wanted something to drink, we were apparently uninvited guests. He brought us our drinks and collected the money straight away. We should pay 9€. We gave him the note and he added the tip straight away and gave us €10 back instead of €11 in change. I'm not interested in €1 here, but this audacity is unbelievable. The view was nice, on the water with a view of the CCB building. That's why we give it 4 stars. But the service - sorry, that didn't have to be the case.

On Mother's Day a price increase for brunch from 22.90 to 26.90. Without announcing it anywhere. On the Internet it says 22.90 on Saturdays and Sundays or public holidays. Isn't Mother's Day a public holiday? What a disgrace! The restaurant management has holed up. Didn't want to come. The queue for the buffet went through the whole restaurant. It went on like this for 2 hours. Poorly organized. I definitely won't have brunch there again!!!

We only had a latte here, but it was great! You can sit outside there, partly covered. The view is of the canal, it's very nice to sit right on the promenade. You can park cheaply in the Saturn parking garage a few meters away.

We went to Lavastein again for brunch. We liked the quality and selection of food, the food is fresh and always plentiful; As soon as a plate was empty, it was immediately refilled. The staff was also very attentive and nice. The only thing that bothered us was the noise level; The restaurant is busy, the tables are crowded and the number of guests creates a lot of noise. Nevertheless we will come back.

Been here a few times. The food is ok. Tarte flambée is a bit tasteless and why do they put so much seasoning salt on a prosciutto pizza? Makes the pizza extremely salty and tastes only of dry spices. Castles are okay. If you sit near the entrance, you should expect a lot of cigarette smoke inside.

Outlandish prices for abysmal food. 20 euros for a pizza that was similar in taste and consistency to the wooden board on which it was served. Ingredients are nothing special, use completely tasteless tomatoes. Disappointing. They lost me. Beer 0.33 for over €5 didn't lift the mood either.

The restaurant is centrally located on a body of water. There is plenty of outside seating. Menu is ok. Prices are very high. W5 euros for a normal pizza. No bread with herb butter was served. Card payment is possible. Communication problem apparently due to a lack of knowledge of German: ordered pepperoni on pizza and received peppers. There is a surcharge of 2.50 euros. Interior very thrown together. There were even stars from Christmas left on the shelf. All in all, overpriced.

I have known the lava stone for at least 20 years and am so disappointed and unfortunately not the first time. The waitress was really trying but the head waiter was so unfriendly. We were there for brunch and arrived at 12. It hasn't been refilled since. The burners were all off, the sauces were already dark in color because it had been sitting there for too long. If you offer brunch until 2 p.m., you can't refresh anything after 12 p.m. just because it's not busy, that's not the customer's bad luck. The coffee was so bad that I never had a nice experience. and after we rounded up from 104€ to 110, there was no thank you, no nice day, but rather annoyed behavior. Sry Lavastein, that's it forever, it's a shame that you're resting on old times

We would have eaten there with work colleagues on April 19th at 9 p.m. After we finished eating. Has paid everyone for themselves, Because the food was cold and the waitress was very rude. Didn't we pay a tip? When we wanted to pay our bill. Did the waitress try to cheat? In which she gave us 1 euro coin. And actually she should give 2 coins, Everything we asked for. My she oh sorry she thought there was a 2 euro coin ✌️✌️ And she did that to two of us, And one of us didn't even ask anymore... When you work as a cashier you know which coins you have in your hand, If it were accidental then maybe once and not at the same time with 2 people, Oh yes We watched her briefly and she did the same thing at our neighbor's table. I think that's not okay and very cheeky!

Miserable food. There were four of us there. Every meal was bad. Currywurst bad. Unappetizing fries. Noodles not particularly tasty. And the bruschetta was the absolute highlight (see picture). Not made with love at all. Tomato pieces cut huge, no onions. Never go to this store again. Poor quality at overpriced. Unprofessional waitress who was insulted after asking us if we liked it and we politely replied no.

I ordered a fitness plate with turkey strips from you this week. Unfortunately the vegetables were full of oil and partly burnt, which you could actually smell. The meat, on the other hand, was very tender and well done. To describe this dish, which floats in oil, as a fitness plate... Hmm, well ;-/.. wasn't that successful and unfortunately didn't do the name of the dish any credit. Maybe I was just unlucky and the chef wasn't paying attention that day. The service was friendly and the atmosphere was good. I hope that next time I visit the restaurant again, my expectations will be met.

Had 3x steak plates, raw beef steak on the plate, 1x baked potato with turkey, turkey meat was bland with no taste, very unloving, the only thing the waiter was very nice and courteous. After a conversation with the manager, the price of two meals was waived. We won't be going there again

I was at Lavastein last weekend and I didn't like it at all. The waitress was very nice but didn't respond to my wishes. We ordered 2 steaks and they arrived medium rare, where I then asked the waitress if she could make it a little less red, to which she replied: "Yes, I can do that" then got the steak again and it came almost exactly as red as before. And what’s more, we paid €75.90! 😞

Instead, we always sat for a long time in front of empty glasses, and we were only served if we clearly drew attention to ourselves. My food was delicious, but the portion size was too small even for me, and that's saying something. The staff were friendly.

I'm irregular, but I enjoy being here. My dish that I always eat is garlic bread. But I also like to eat pizza and other dishes; the quality has convinced me for years. The cocktails were also perfect and have led to many long hours here. It can be quite loud, but there are two separate areas so that large, understandably louder groups can be avoided. The food usually comes quickly, the selection is extensive, and the price is absolutely reasonable.

We celebrated my brother's 20th birthday in mid-December. Everything, really everything was great! The staff is great! The food was great! What is particularly noteworthy is that we were allowed to bring a birthday cake and the service staff encouraged all the guests in the restaurant (the place was packed) to sing a serenade for my brother (unfortunately the video cannot be uploaded). Dear team, you made the birthday unforgettable, my brother was overwhelmed and embarrassed 😆 Thank you very much💯🙏

Ended up here yesterday (Tuesday) by chance. Extremely nice staff. Were served quickly and friendly. The meals were very tasty. You'll be happy to come back here!

The pizza was dry and bland. There was a fingernail or something in the salad...

I asked 4 (!) dishes whether they were vegan. Each time the waitress went and asked in the kitchen - that's okay, but a suggestion from her would have made it easier. When I finally ordered bruschetta (indicated on the menu as garlic, basil, tomato, onion and baguette bread), I unfortunately realized late in the meal that something buttery had been used. When asked, the waitress smiled and said "yes, the kitchen always puts garlic butter on it. Then you have sinned". When I asked what she would do if I were allergic, she just grinned. The butter was not listed (also not usual for bruschetta) and - as I emphasized several times - I did not want it. During my visit, the waitress explained to me twice that she was a vegetarian herself and could understand me. Apparently this did not affect their knowledge of food and what customers wanted. In the end I was still allowed to pay for everything regularly.

No idea what happened to it! Yes, today brunch was ok, but until 6 p.m. you can tidy things up a bit (toothpicks on the floor, sticking onions, tables). Cleanliness is something you can expect and the huge shop was empty otherwise I could turn a blind eye! But when the waiter is so dirty, sorry, but he just walks around as if he had to use the sink without an apron with water damage and all you can do is close both eyes! Food topic...... Unfortunately, BBQ citizens with fries came cold and the sauce was more of an Aldi grill sauce but hadn't been seen in a long time! Beef medallion with croquettes Unfortunately, both medallions were run through with a finger-thick tendon and were pure blood sponge, you can't imagine but that was the best thing on or on the plate! The croquettes were discounters but the worst product, a pure lump of starch, pure starch, nothing, really nothing at all of croquette ok the shape was everything about croquette. When I contacted the waiter, I would have hoped that the host would have been more accommodating, especially when it came to the meat, but I quote "That's how meat is, sometimes like that, sometimes like that" Just about but really just about 2 stars Mezzo was cold - glasses were clean and the salad was fresh but here just a cold goodbye!!!!!!

I was always happy to be there and the prices have been really reasonable so far. But now it has simply become too expensive. A beer (Duckstein) 0.5 now costs €7.90! Sorry, but with all understanding that the prices had to be raised because the government wants 19% instead of 7%, but that's not possible. If I remember correctly, last summer the beer was still €6. That's simply over 30% more. That is not how it works

You can go here if you just want to eat something quickly. I would say the better pork.

No vegan options. Garlic BUTTER was even smeared on the bruschetta. The second one had nothing on it except roughly chopped tomatoes. If requested, it wasn't possible to prepare it with olive oil and garlic underneath. Weak. Also totally inflated prices and inattentive service. Absolutely not recommended. Never again.
