Very inviting and it's great to sit outside

This evening we were at the Landhaus Mönchenwerth for my partner's mother's 80th birthday. Recommended by a knowledgeable couple in the scene (award-winning Somelier), we were warmly welcomed, treated excellently by both the service and the cuisine and captured by the beautiful atmosphere directly on the Rhine. We would like to thank the whole team for a very nice evening. After many visits to nearby star restaurants, we didn't miss anything here. On the contrary, we liked the informality and the unobtrusive way of making good recommendations regarding wine and choice of dishes. We will come back, also because the menu contained many dishes that are our favorites. We didn't know the location, even though we only live 5 kilometers away. We were in this restaurant Landhaus Mönchenwerth for the first time, I have to say the oysters were unique, I know the freshness of fish because I come from Portugal. The ambience is very nice on the Rhine. If not necessarily with a reservation where we hinted at a table on the Rhine?! But I'm quite disappointed, our tables weren't exactly that good. I had a tree in front of my daughter's nose. Not a nice view.?? The waiters are friendly or try hard, but for a restaurant like this, they are absolutely of a high standard. I come from the catering industry myself, and you don't greet guests with hello??? After all, we didn't go to the same school. I have a voucher for my 60th birthday and was very happy to know this restaurant with a Michelin. But to be honest, I prefer Schloss Bensberg a hundred times over. At a restaurant like this, something different is to be expected and not a table where I have a tree in front of my nose. Guests arrived later without a reservation and could have had a better table.. Sorry is unfair and not right. Maybe I was waiting to become a regular since we come from Kaarst. But I love driving more kilometers and definitely the gastronomy and the level of Bensberg Castle or the friendliness of the Duke of Burgundy. High price but it has to be justified. We sat outside very nicely and had a beautiful view of the Rhine. It's also nice to sit inside - maybe even better because you don't have the noise of airplanes. The dishes were all extremely tasty and used excellent ingredients. The wine selection is also very good. We had to wait a little long for the main course, but we were able to get over it. The service is very friendly and competent in its advice.

This could have been a wonderful dinner for my birthday, but... We booked a table near the window a week in advance, and several times specified that we wanted a table near the window with a beautiful view of the Rhine, this was important to us, and they promised this. But when we arrived, they wanted to seat us at another table, which was not at all cozy and comfortable. The nearby tables by the window were completely empty, but when asked why we couldn’t sit where we would like, there was no explanation or interest in us as guests. Of course, with such hospitality we lost our appetite and we just left. Naturally, the family evening was ruined for a completely strange reason by the restaurant staff.

Super nice restaurant with good food, great location.

It was actually quite tasty. The food was really good but the portions were completely unreasonable for the prices and the staff with an older person with gray hair doesn't have to be there anymore.

We ate together with friends at the Landhaus Mönchwerth early on Saturday evening. The table allowed a view of the Rhine, and the ambience was only slightly affected by the aircraft noise from Düsseldorf Airport. But nobody locally has any influence on that. The restaurant was far from full, but they still couldn't manage to serve the main courses we ordered in a reasonable time. There were 50 minutes between the starter and the main course. When I cautiously suggested that I would now like to eat, since two of us had not chosen any starters, I was told that they would try to serve soon, but that this timing should always be taken into account. The service was very friendly, but not good. The selection of vegetarian dishes was very clear, and each of us chose a different dish. I didn't have a starter, and for the main course I had a lamb comb with rattatouille and wild broccoli and for dessert a panna cotta in a kind of orange jus. Neither was a revelation. The lamb was medium rare as requested but just bland. The orange jus with the panna cotta was sweet like orange syrup. The prices quoted for the dishes: lamb comb €45 and panna cotta €17 did not meet our expectations. Our focus was not on an extensive wine pairing, as 2 of us didn't drink any wine, but the house wines that were chosen were both served as a 'last sip from the bottle', so to speak, and then kindly topped up from another bottle. I've never experienced anything like this in this price range, so maybe we should have chosen a bottle from the wine list. In short, it wasn't a bad evening because we had a very nice chat, but, excusez moi, for €110 per person for a simple dish with a simple dessert, 2 glasses of Riesling and an aperitif, there is still a lot of room for improvement.

Friendly service, excellent selection of drinks topped with culinary enjoyment! I was in the country house for the first time on March 20, 2024. After a walk along the Rhine, I wanted to eat something nice in peace, be well served and relax and look out over the Rhine. I found everything here. I also had a seat at the window with a view of the Rhine. The service was very attentive, not annoying but calm and relaxed. At the beginning I got a small recommendation from the kitchen, fish tartare with chips - super tasty! In response to my request, I also received various drink recommendations, all of which went well with the food. As an aperitif I had a Portuguese port wine (Graham). I was then allowed to try various wines and was impressed by the warmth/enthusiasm with which they were introduced and explained to me. For the main course I had “Heaven and Uhhd”. It was actually a rustic meal that I hadn't expected here at all, it was superbly prepared and beautifully presented and the taste was strong and hearty, exactly what I had in mind. The crowning finale was the dessert (panna cotta grapefruit with almond milk ice cream) - a brilliant hit on my palate. A really successful evening! I would love to come back and would like to warmly recommend the restaurant.

We were invited to the restaurant for the second time on Saturday. We felt very comfortable there I have food allergies. The staff was very attentive. We briefly discussed my menu and I was given an alternative that was at least as good as the other guests' menu. Unfortunately, due to my allergies, I haven't always had such good experiences in restaurants. But everything was right here.

Visited on wedding anniversary My husband and I don't speak German, but they were kind enough to print out the menu in English on short notice. It was a nice anniversary dinner at a nice restaurant along the Rhine. We had read reviews that the food was served slowly, so we had a great time with lots of chatting. Due to the serving time, I don't recommend going too hungry, but the food was so delicious and plentiful that I was full with just two plates. It is a pity that there is no room for dessert. On the way home, I walked along the Rhine River and looked at the starry sky. Thank you for the wonderful time

We had a wonderful evening on a Saturday. Sitting at the front in the winter garden, the two of us enjoyed a wonderful meal. As an aperitif there was a glass of champagne, a very tasty starter and a great main course. The greeting from the kitchen was also very tasty. The service was extremely friendly. We had to wait a little longer for the food, but that wasn't a problem with the right company. Highly recommended with very high quality.

Was visiting here as a guest of a wedding party and the food, service and location were first class. A 5-course menu was served, which was excellent in terms of taste and presentation. Wines were appropriately selected and the service was very attentive. So really a great place for such an occasion.

Very good restaurant with top service. A little hidden and remote. Given the wine list, the taxi is worth it!

Tout est très bien. Sauf la longueur du service, 4 heures pour une entrée, plat, dessert. C'est beaucoup trop long, même si par ailleurs, les plats étaient très bien

Das Essen war sehr lecker und qualitativ hochwertig. Das Ambiente ist etwas spiessig aber wir hatten einen schönen Blick auf den Rhein. Preise am oberen Ende. Das Servicepersonal war sehr nett. Großes Manko die Wartezeit. Den Hauptgang haben wir nach 2h bekommen! Das geht nicht für ein Restaurant mit hohem Anspruch. Es war gut besucht aber nicht komplett voll.

Wir haben das Restaurant zufrieden verlassen und werden sicherlich nochmal wiederkommen. Die Bedienungen waren Freundlich, kompetent und vor allem Gastorientiert. Das Ambiente würde ich gediegen nennen, jedenfalls im Innenraum, wo wir wegen des schlechten Wetters saßen. Modern ist jedenfalls anders. Die Hauptspeisen waren Gut. Aber unsere Vor und Nachspeisen waren so richtig Toll. Beim nächsten Besuch werden wir uns an den Vor und Nachspeisen satt Essen. Apropos Satt. Wir waren beide Satt als wir gingen. Das ist leider in der gehobenen Gastronomie immer noch nicht selbstverständlich. Alles in allem war es ein gelungener erster Besuch. Danke dafür.

Wir haben am letzten Samstag dort unsere Hochzeit gefeiert. Die ganzen Vorbereitungen durch Herrn Bürgel waren perfekt. Die gesamte Abwicklung, der Service, die Mitarbeiter und das Essen verdienen mehr als die Höchstnote. Das gilt natürlich auch für das einmalige Ambiente direkt am Rhein. Alles zusammen: besser geht es einfach nicht. Eine absolute Empfehlung. Vielen Dank an das gesamte (!!) Team

Sehr gute Küche. Aufmerksamer Keller und schöne Lage direkt am Rhein. Sicherlich eines der teureren Restaurants, aber Qualität hat ihren Preis. Das gilt insbesondere für gut ausgebildetes Personal.

Spitzen-Restaurant. Tolle Lage direkt am Rhein.

Es dauert alles ewig (!) - Nach einer Stunde war noch nichtmal die Vorspeise auf dem Tisch. Ambiente tendenziell spießig, Küche modern/deutsch und solide. Vorspeise und Steak waren jetzt nichts extravagantes aber völlig in Ordnung. Preise hoch, man zahlt für die Location mit. Sehr schöne Tellersprache

Immer wieder einen Besuch wert. Tolles Essen, schöne Atmosphäre und seit Jahren Stammgast, wenn ich zur Beauty in Düsseldorf bin.

Ausgezeichnetes Essen und Service. Etwas zu lange Pausen zwischen den Gängen,was unserem Wohlfühlen aber nicht geschadet hat. Erstaunt war ich allerdings darüber, das laute Telefonate nicht unterbunden wurden. Das hatte ich in diesem Lokal nicht erwartet. Mit freundlichen Grüßen Ulla Pauer

Traumhafte Lage, exquisite Speisen. Service ist teilweise etwas eigen, muss man zu nehmen wissen. Positiv: früher ist Franjo von gegenüber immer sehr laut mit seinem Porsche angefahren, das scheint sich aber gebessert zu haben.

Wir waren mit 5 Personen zum Abendessen. An dem Freitagabend waren 7 Tische besetzt, die von einem Sommelier und einem Kellner bedient wurden. Der Service einschl. kompetenter Weinempfehlung war ausgesprochen zuvorkommend. Die Vorspeisen als auch die unterschiedlichen Hauptgerichte waren optisch und geschmacklich hervorragend. Wir hatten einen gelungenen Abend in dem gut eingerichteten Hauptrestaurant.

+ Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Abend mit der Familie dort. Das Essen war hervorragend und das Restaurant gemütlich beleuchtet, was für eine sehr schöne Athmosphäre gesorgt hat. - Ich persönlich mag es nicht, wenn mein Wasserglas immer wieder randvoll aufgefüllt wird, wenn es nur noch zu einem Drittel gefüllt ist und dafür auch neue Flaschen geöffnet werden, die schlussendlich dann ggf. nicht mehr ausgetrunken werden. Das führt aus meiner Sicht zur Verschwendung. Allerdings denke ich, dass dies Geschmackssache ist. + Ansonsten fand ich den Service sehr aufmerksam und äußerst freundlich.

In allen Belangen gehobene Gastronomie. Sehr nette Bedienung. Äußerst gelungene Präsentatation der Speisen. Geschmacklich hervorragend.

Mein Menü hat mir sehr gut geschmeckt. Der Service war schnell und sehr zuvorkommend.

Sehr gut gelegene Location, bei einem sehr guten Preis Leistungsverhältnis. Auf der Terrasse zum Yachthafen hin, sitzt man sehr gut und ruhig. Hier kann man ganz gut die Freizeitkapitäne beobachten. Die Waffel mit Sahne und warmem Kirchen schmeckte sehr gut.

Mit der edlen Einrichtung ein wirklicher Blickfang. Danach noch auf einen gemütlichen Abendspaziergang am Rhein und der Tag war perfekt. Nur zu Empfehlen

Tolle Location auf der Terrasse, Essen sehr ordentlich, aber überteuert, kleine Portionen.--Service doch etwas befremdlich. Der Gast hat sich hier doch unterzuordnen. Seltsam. Nicht nochmal.

Der Standort direkt am Rhein, das Ambiente und die Qualität der Küche sind exzeptionell.Der Service kann dieses Niveau leider auch nicht ansatzweise halten - er ist unaufmerksam, uninteressiert und oft sogar pampig. Das Brot zu Beginn bekamen wir nur auf Nachfrage, die Hauptspeise ebenfalls nur nach Reklamation (war auch nur lauwarm - stand wohl länger herum) und weitere Getränke bekamen wir auch nur nach Rückfrage, obwohl das Personal mehrfach am Tisch vorbeiliefen und unsere leeren Gläser hätten bemerken können. Dafür widmete sich der Restaurantchef über längere Zeit einem Talk mit den Gästen am Nachbartisch, die offensichtlich wichtiger waren. Sehr schade, dass der semi-professionelle Service (freundlich formuliert) die ansonsten hervorragenden Voraussetzungen eines Top-Restaurants so nachhaltig konterkariert. Als Eigentümer würde ich darüber mal nachdenken!!!
