Nice restaurant with delicious food. Unfortunately only self-service. We've eaten there three times in the last few weeks and have never been disappointed. We tried different dishes and all were very tasty. There is also a counter with a wide selection of fresh and smoked fish. We can recommend the Restaurant-Kutterfisch.

We've been here for lunch many times and it's always been delicious 😋. But three years ago we took smoked fish with us that was completely dry and therefore not fresh. This year we bought smoked plaice which were totally dried out. You have to take such goods out of the counter. I'm very disappointed about that 😞.

We ate here a few times for lunch and dinner. The food was always delicious, the kids also enjoyed it and it was nice to sit outside in the beach chairs (also works with 2 adults and 3 kids), even in rain or bad weather. I didn't rate the service because - from what we saw - everything is self-service. Order food, take the beeper with you, and then pick up the food yourself when it beeps. Prices were fair.

We must have had a bad day, the pollock burger was OK, the salmon could have been glassy but that's a matter of taste, it's only stupid if the prawns listed on the menu are missing. The Rösti with salmon were a disappointment, two small Röstitaler (finished product) with some salmon on top and salad. For €18 and self-service you can expect more.

Meal on August 22nd at 5:30 p.m., the plaice was large and cheap, unfortunately prepared very soberly and carelessly without any spices. The fried potatoes were probably fried again and again from lunchtime and were an imposition and a very disinterested service staff. But you can deal with tourists like that. What a shame!

First of all, I would give this restaurant 10 ☆☆☆ because no matter when we are in Sassnitz, the Kutterfisch restaurant is a must. We are usually there as a patchwork family of between 5 and 8 people. The ambience is magical inside and out. There is a large selection of dishes and a lot that you can put together yourself. Because of the large portions, everyone has been full so far. The taste is simply outstanding. We never thought we would be disappointed at some point, as we unfortunately were on August 17th. happened. When we ordered, we were told there would be a wait of up to three quarters of an hour. It could have been due to the Sassnitz harbor festival, but you're happy to accept that if you know what awaits you on your plate. Unfortunately that wasn't the case this time. The portions were at least a quarter smaller than usual. I desperately looked for my mustard sauce, but there were only a few drops around my fried fish, which unfortunately also had a bitter aftertaste. I found my portion of mashed potatoes under the fish and consisted of a maximum of 2 tablespoons. My husband's fried potatoes were mostly very burnt. My husband was so hungry after this portion that he didn't even leave the salad garnish behind. This time we left hungry and disappointed. It could have been due to stress, but the quality simply shouldn't suffer. We hope that it was a one-off disappointment and we'll be happy to come back.

A good place to try different fish specialties. The dining areas are also cozy and rustic. The portions of food are extensive. I always enjoy going there.

Neatly prepared fish dishes at a fair price. There's not much to complain about here. The fish is very generously portioned and well cooked. Unfortunately the fried potatoes were very greasy. But a very good remoulade sauce. I'm not a fan of the self-service concept but it's probably the only alternative to the shortage of skilled workers. The beach chair seats are very casual. I'll definitely be back.

The cod fillet with a small salad and fries for 19.50 euro was good, the portion was enough to fill you up. You just need to know that you place the order yourself and you also have to pick up the ordered drinks yourself at the place where they serve food.

Location and furnishings are very good, including the self-service concept, but this can still be improved. And is it just me that has the impression that the woman behind the counter seems a bit snippy and annoyed? A bit uncomfortable.

We ended up here quite spontaneously after arriving and walking on the promenade. Food was very tasty and staff is friendly and helpful. You get the food yourself when your "lid" is marched across the table, which you get after you have paid. There are enough options for dogs to keep them away from people outside, so they don't have any stress. Ours was completely relaxed next to us and watched the seagulls on the edge of the harbor. The visit was worth it and you have a beautiful view of the harbor with its cutter boats.

The Kutterfisch restaurant in Sassnitz belongs to Kutter und Rügenfisch GmbH, which itself has 3 cutters for fishing. If you want to eat fresh fish at a fair price and not frozen food in overpriced restaurants on Rügen, this is the right place for you. There is something for every taste (e.g. cod, salmon, flounder), freshly fried, smoked or fresh fish ready to cook, to take away. We chose cod meatballs and flounder, both without a side dish of potatoes (starch and carbohydrates). Both meals were great and the flounders were crispy on both sides and juicy on the inside (not fried to death). There is a lovingly furnished indoor area and an outdoor area with a view of the harbor. The restaurant is self-service and you get a beeper to pick up. The division of work among the staff is very well regulated. One person takes the order and collects, a second person gives out the drinks and food. This means there are no long queues. You should still take a little time for the food because everything is freshly prepared and word has gotten around that there is still fresh fish there. This can be seen in the number of guests, but there are enough tables, inside and outside. If you want fresh fish on Rügen, then cutter fish. 👍👍👍👍👍 Every visit, always great. Nice self-service restaurant. The food was good. Can really recommend. One star was deducted because the fried potatoes were a bit oily and unfortunately there was no more fried fish at 6:30 p.m. Nevertheless, the ambience is very nice.

Good food and big portion, however the service is not the best if you are not native speaker, however some friendly guests helped ous.

It's nice to sit, there's sailor music in the background, and self-service is absolutely okay. However, the food needs some improvement. My fried potatoes were very fatty, very brown and overly crispy, as was the bacon and the pan fish were rather dry - unfortunately the price-performance ratio wasn't right here. A pity. Perhaps this can be changed quickly with little effort.

Self-service restaurant is located directly at the harbor, simple atmosphere, but super fresh fish, very tasty, crispy fried potatoes. Good price/performance ratio. Fast, friendly service.

The food was great, except for the ready-made sauce in the cabbage. Service, however, is less good. Ordered non-alcoholic beer, accidentally got one with alcohol. Exchanged beer and noted that this mistake can have consequences for people who are abstinent. Another operator apologized and the issue was settled for me. But not for the person who gave me the wrong beer. She explicitly came to me again to lecture me and to inform me that they were only non-alcoholic beers and not 0.0 percent beers. Before our conversation was over and I could react, I dropped the condition and went back to the kitchen area. Mistakes can happen and this review would have been completely different if the waitress had sought a conversation at eye level instead of looking for the error in me and telling me I should have checked it myself.

Absolutely mega. The offer is very diverse and at a great price. Oh, the fish sandwiches there are an absolute treat, and they're also eaten on site. With a view of the water. Toilet is also on site. Protected from the wind in a beach chair (with table) 500g prawns with a great dip and salad for around €19 is perfectly fine.

Tolles Fischgeschäft in dem Mann tollen frischen Fisch erhalten kann. Die Preise sind ok. Das Personal ist super freundlich und hilfsbereit. Eis für die Kühlbox gab es auch, somit war ein sicherer gekühlter Transport nach Hause möglich.

The portion of flounder is a bit small :) next time I'll take cod or saithe. Just around the corner, the same company has a fish shop. A wide range of smoked and raw fish. Additionally, you can buy fish rolls: herring, mathias, smoked mackerel or cod meatball

Very nice staff and also good food, But you think if you go to a local place that specializes in fish, that's what you'll mainly get. Unfortunately, the fish “mix platter” had ham as a side dish. For me as a pescatarian it's unpleasant but I can get rid of it. But for those customers who don't want to consume pork, it's more avoidable. Otherwise really tasty and highly recommended.

With great expectations and anticipation based on the reviews, we visited the restaurant today, first sitting at a table outside, then moving to one of the nicer beach chairs. Self-service would be manageable if the staff at the counter were polite and communicative. We have never experienced such sloppy and superficial behavior when placing a normal order or when serving out the finished dishes. The salmon fillet was very tasty, the herring plate was rather medium. Unfortunately it wasn't a nice experience, we found the whole thing a bit lacking in style. Maybe there will be more (hospitable) friendly staff at the start.

An excellent fish restaurant where you can try the freshest seafood. The portions are very large, the presentation is chic, the prices are average. We ordered salmon, flounder, shrimp and several other types of fish. Everything was delicious. We had lunch here every day. It works on the principle of self-service. Food must be ordered at the counter. You also need to carry dirty dishes yourself. The staff is friendly.

One week Rügen/Sassnitz= one week “Kutterfisch”! It was delicious every day, the staff was always nice and in a good mood. Small point of criticism, the tables should be cleaned more often. But otherwise, always happy again. And an absolute recommendation!

Nice fish restaurant at the harbor in Sassnitz. The fried fish was very tasty and fresh. The food also makes a good visual impression. In terms of price, the restaurant is not cheap, but that is probably not the case in any tourist resort.

Ordered fish & chips and Rügen panfish. Took a good 35 minutes - but it was busy and is also a sign of quality in the kitchen = freshly prepared. Both dishes were great. Panfish = cod Fish & chips = zander Good side dishes, nicely presented.

Super tasty fish variations and side dishes, cozy dining rooms inside & authentic harbor atmosphere outside, very warm service, very short waiting time. The locals' tip for the best fish restaurant in town was confirmed for us! We were there 3 times out of 4 possible evenings! Gladly again!

Unfortunately I had to give one star. Unfortunately, less is not possible. Unfriendly staff and are unable or unwilling to fulfill a customer's special requests. A large restaurant right next to Sassnitz Pier. Serves delicious fresh fish. The portions are quite big too. It is a self service restaurant. We had ordered the kids's food along with ours. Since ours was a rather elaborate order the meal for the kids got delayed too as they wouldn't serve separately. Had to wait for quite some time before the food could arrive. The food nonetheless was quite tasty.

Prices are ok and the food tastes good...

There were just three of us sitting outside for a cool blonde in an XXL beach chair. We went to the restaurant briefly to go to the toilet, which we really liked. The inside of the restaurant is really an eye-catcher. The service was very nice and the toilets were also clean. We can recommend the restaurant, unfortunately we can't say anything about the food, but it looked really good! 👍🏻
