Great fish offerings and absolutely delicious… except for the fried potatoes

We visited the restaurant for lunch today based on a recommendation and were extremely satisfied. The food was of excellent quality. The restaurant's ambiance is appealing, and the outdoor area with tables and beach chairs offers a welcoming atmosphere. The view of the harbor is particularly charming. The value for money is excellent.

Delicious food in a great atmosphere. The food tastes fantastic; fresh fish as far as the eye can see, served in delicious combinations. We recommend the Rügen Pannfisch (Rügen Pan Fish), Sassnitz Fish Platter, Baltic Sea Burger, or the house-made fried fish. Beautiful maritime decor and a direct view of Sassnitz harbor complete the Baltic Sea atmosphere. In warmer weather, you can enjoy your meal outside in a beach chair. Note: Self-service after ordering via table sensors.

Unfortunately, we were very disappointed. A year ago, they still served fresh fish and good, fresh side dishes. They've now opted for ready-made meals. We've decided not to eat there again. The Kutter 1 fish shop was good.

We've been here many times. The dishes have always been delicious. Highly recommended.

The food resembles a fish stall; you can't expect more. The cod fillet had tons of bones, the mustard sauce was cold, and the vegetables were drenched in oil. Certainly not worth repeating! There are better places on Rügen. After this experience, we will buy our fresh fish elsewhere in the future. Sorry, but if I'm charging €18.00 for the dish of the day, I expect to get something decent.

This is an incredibly fantastic fish restaurant, right in Sassnitz's harbor, with a wonderful atmosphere and excellent food. We've been there several times, and if we come back to Sassnitz, we'll definitely eat there again. Highly recommended!

I feel average. The price/performance ratio is not high. It is not as good as the one outside the stralsund aquarium.

Very friendly and helpful service. The fish was amazing! Tasty is an understatement. The dish was delicious, presented in a way that encouraged me to finish it as quickly as possible. The atmosphere was very pleasant, with a charming decor. The bathroom was clean. If I have the opportunity, I will definitely come back!

The food was very good. There's even a vegan dish on the menu 👍 Unfortunately, dogs aren't allowed inside. But as long as you sit outside, they're welcome.

We've been there twice during our Rügen vacation, not because we had to, but because we wanted to. The food was first-class in terms of quantity, quality, and value for money. If we lived closer, we'd eat here practically every week.

Anyone in Sassnitz looking for delicious food at a fair price in a truly cozy atmosphere should come here. The Lach Burger is incomparably good! There's also a selection for younger guests, and sometimes just delicious fries.

We ate Kutterfisch four times because it's incredibly delicious and freshly prepared. I particularly enjoyed the seaweed salad; you can't get anything like it anywhere else. A definite recommendation for all fish eaters and those who want to become one.

I highly recommend it. It's self-service, but you're given a buzzer at your table. When it starts buzzing, you pick up your food. There's plenty of space inside and outside. They also offer fresh fish, fish salads, fish sandwiches, and smoked fish to take away. The food is very good quality. The staff is nice and friendly. If I'm in the area again, I'll go there again.

Simply excellent, delicious, quick, and easy food. Great price. And two kinds of fries: regular and sweet potato—surprisingly delicious!

This is my second time eating here. The food was very tasty, but unlike a few years ago, the prices are quite steep. While this is true everywhere on Rügen, I found it excessive that you pay for the fish (usually €14 and up) and then another €3.50 or more for side dishes like fries. Unfortunately, I have to deduct one star. If that doesn't bother you, you can still eat delicious fish and shrimp here and enjoy the Hagen atmosphere.

Right in the harbor with a view. My herring roll was the tastiest thing I've eaten on Rügen—a dream—even the roll had just the right crunch.

Fresh fish caught by the fishermen's own fleet in the North and Baltic Seas and marketed here promises deliciousness. We enjoyed it very much. The restaurant is self-service. Due to high demand, you should expect a wait when ordering.

Very friendly service and a large selection of fish.

It's a great place to eat in peace if you can snag one of the beach chairs. We stayed here for several days and tried a few things: The sea bass was very good, but the fish solyanka and shrimp skewers weren't so great.

Google says they're open until 8 p.m. The restaurant's website says they're open until 8 p.m. When I get there, I find out they close at 6 p.m. One star for the extra steps I got by walking there and the money I saved. 🤷🏻‍♀️🙂

It’s a self-service restaurant, but the menu is quite diverse - ranging from sandwiches and quick bites to proper main courses. We tried different kinds of fish and soup, and everything was delicious. The only thing we didn’t enjoy was the pasta. There’s a nice outdoor terrace with a sea view. They accept both card and cash, and the staff speak English

A very delicious restaurant, right on the harbor. We had a very good meal. We were able to put together our own dishes, which was no problem at all. Very friendly staff. Despite the large number of guests, everything ran smoothly. (But that also depends on the behavior/appearance of the guests.) We were told when ordering that there would be a wait of about an hour, but after 25 minutes, we had our food. All the dishes were very tasty and freshly prepared, and the fish was really fresh. We'll be back.

Well, the food wasn't that good, unfortunately. I've had much better food for that price. There's no service; you get your own food and have to clear the table yourself. The only thing that was nice was the ambiance.

We've eaten here every holiday for many years – the food used to be excellent and the fish was fresh. Unfortunately, that has changed dramatically: The salmon fillet was neither fresh nor juicy, but thoroughly cooked – and unfortunately, it tasted that way too. The fried fish was okay, but also not a highlight. When we politely informed the chef that the fish wasn't fresh and tasted accordingly, we were treated unfriendly. We weren't looking for a price reduction, but rather for good service and long-term customer loyalty. It's the tone that counts – and unfortunately, that doesn't seem to be understood here anymore. One thing is for sure: We won't be back.

We were in Sassnitz for the first time and stumbled upon this restaurant by the water. A great location with a fantastic atmosphere. Despite being self-service, it wasn't a problem. Excellent service, large portions of fish with several side dishes. A very pleasant surprise. Keep up the good work, all in all, great.

I highly recommend this shop! I love fish, I simply love the whole atmosphere at the harbor. Buying fish here, eating it, being here is simply wonderful! What could be better than right in the harbor? We're currently on vacation here in Sassnitz, and Kutterfisch is simply a must. We bought some fish again today and enjoyed it straight away in our vacation apartment! Simply fantastic, it's the best if you love fish.

The food was good, the ambiance was perfect. The only downside was the kitchen staff. After waiting a while for our food to arrive, we politely inquired at the cashier. The cashier then asked in the open kitchen. The people there were visibly annoyed by the demand. A chef then looked out with an angry look. Absolutely unacceptable... We wouldn't go back to that restaurant.

A delicious, fresh herring roll with a large piece of herring and a crispy roll. Inside, you can find both fresh and smoked fish.

We ate at your restaurant yesterday for lunch. There were a lot of customers, and when we were paying, we were told there would be a long wait. We got our first dishes after just 10 minutes, and the third dish arrived after about 20 minutes. It was incredibly delicious and super fresh. My shrimp were perfectly cooked. I'd definitely go back.

We arrived hungry and were not disappointed! The fried fish with fried potatoes is delicious! It's quick and reasonably priced. It was clean and the staff friendly. The location is great – you're sitting right on the harbor.

We didn't get anything to eat. The restaurant only serves food until 8 p.m., after which they only serve drinks!

Delicious fish sandwiches. The fried fish on my daughter's plate was also really tasty and homemade. Not the pressed-together fish you get everywhere else.

We've been here many times and are always impressed! The food is delicious, with super fresh fish, great dishes, and a huge selection! Highly recommended!

A very nice place with a sea view. A large garden. The restaurant interior is very atmospheric. There's also a fish shop. We really enjoyed the food. The fish and toppings were fresh. The sauce was very good, but as we Poles like it, there's a lot more of it. Overall, I highly recommend this place for something to eat, drink, and buy some home-cooked food.

Self-service restaurant: We had two wheat beers, the dish with two plaice, and two separate fried potatoes for just under €32. Cons: - Self-service with a pager that tells you the food is ready. You have to like that. It's definitely not personal and gives off a rather commercial impression. - The fried potatoes seemed somewhat warmed over, my companion said. Pros: - Great location. It really couldn't be more authentic. The fishing boats are moored at the back, and the plastic crates for the fish are also still on the quay. There are beach huts for sitting outside, and this protection is necessary. As soon as you see something to eat, greedy and enormous herring gulls patrol outside and make it clear that any inattention will be punished with lost food (or worse). But you can just walk in. I've rarely seen better and more tasteful decor inside. It's quite a sight. - The fish was very fresh and well-prepared. Super delicious. - Since the potatoes tasted like they'd been fried a second time, they were super brown and crispy, and I thought they were absolutely delicious. My companion, however, disagreed. Highly recommended for anyone who hasn't been here yet, but it's a bit too impersonal for me to give it 5 stars. Therefore, I can only give it 4, because 4.5 is out of the question.
