Super delicious and fresh fish at its best. If we went there every day for three days. I would gladly come back!

Our vacation on Rügen wouldn't be complete without a visit to Kutterfisch in the harbor of Sassnitz. Simply delicious.

This is self-service. It can also be quite loud, depending on the behavior of the guests. The fried potatoes were very well cooked but very greasy. Some fish dishes were a bit bland.

The food was very good, but unfortunately, the cashier at the counter felt she had to announce that she was more concerned with finishing her day than serving customers. The kitchen staff was super friendly, and the food was perfect.

Unfortunately, it was disappointing for us. We had fried fish with fried potatoes; the portion was pretty mediocre for 18.90. Unfortunately, the crust was too thick and the food was very dry. We actually live on the Dutch border and are used to fried fish from Holland, so maybe that was the reason. Anyone expecting that will be disappointed, and everyone else... Enjoy! Homemade mashed potatoes; the little one loved them. The children's plate was great in itself, but only recommended for small children; otherwise, the prices were too low. I'd say the prices are average. We got a table straight away, but the wait was given as 1 hour, but it was finished after 30 minutes.

A nice place for a coffee, nice booths with benches towards the port. If I remember correctly, 2 coffees cost about 7 euros.

I always enjoy eating there. There is a changing daily menu and a lot of other things from fried fish to bratwurst. The atmosphere is cozy, like a fishing pub, and there are plenty of seats available outside. The prices are ok and the preparation is delicious and also something to behold.

Here, the wages of the missing service staff are invested in the quality of the food, and it works very well. I'm happy to get my own food there. Plus, the people behind the counter are very friendly, despite the sometimes funny requests from customers.

A great selection of fish dishes, everything is freshly prepared, and you'll be notified via the buzzer when everything is ready. Self-service, with seating inside, outside at the tables, or in one of the many beach chairs overlooking the harbor. The staff was also very friendly.

Very friendly service behind the counter, and excellent organization despite being self-service. The fish sandwich was freshly prepared and very tasty. The smoked shrimp is also highly recommended. It's a great value for money. We'll be happy to come back.

Simply wonderful! You couldn't get or eat fresher fish...superb quality and excellent fish dishes! The value for money is also excellent, a definite recommendation, and the ambiance is cozy and typical "harbor life"...other local restaurants could learn a thing or two from that! We were there almost every day and the food was wonderful...we'll definitely be back when we're on holiday on Rügen again! Suitable for a quick snack and no high expectations of the quality of the food. We had the cod, cod cutlets and fried potatoes. Cod tasted like nothing, meatballs and fried potatoes were partly burnt. Service was quick and very friendly.

If you are in Sassnitz you should definitely stop by here. The fish is freshly prepared and the price-performance ratio is absolutely perfect. Even the salads, sauces and remoulade are made here. We sat in one of the large beach chairs overlooking the harbor basin and found it very comfortable. We'll definitely be back!

Here you can feast on great fish. The portions are huge and the price is absolutely reasonable. It's self-service but that's why the prices aren't that high. The ambience is beautiful.

Great fish restaurant right at the harbor. The dishes are a bit more expensive, but the taste and quality make the difference. Even a "simple" one Fischbrötchen is worth the trip. The staff is very friendly and attentive...and leaves nothing to be desired. Keep it up. We'll definitely be back.

There is freshly caught fish there, right at the Sassnitz harbor. The offering is extensive, the preparation is tasty and the atmosphere is pleasantly rustic. A clear recommendation from us.

Today I ate a children's meal because unfortunately you can't get half of any other meal and a normal portion is too big. The portion was sufficient but the presentation leaves something to be desired. Not a bit of mayo, not a bit of tartar sauce. He threw everything on the plate very carelessly. A children's meal should also be appealing.

Service and ambience top! Fish & fish sandwiches delicious! Fried potatoes, however, were very close to the limit, very greasy and partly burnt. At least for us on this day.

Yummy! Fresh fish with fresh fried potatoes, that's all you need. The whole thing in the beach chair right in the harbor by the water in the sun!! The only downer: self-service outside. But: we would love to come back!

Rügen two or three times a year and cutter fish is a must every time. I've been coming here for many years and the food is always very good. Most of the time there is the delicious pan fish. Highly recommended. Next week it's that time again, the sea and cutterfish are calling...

We were in the Kutterfisch restaurant in Sassnitz on Rügen in March/April 2025. There are all kinds of fish dishes. From fried fish or herring in a roll to the friendly fish menu, there is something for every fish lover. The prices are reasonable. Unfortunately it was still a bit cool outside, so we couldn't use the seats in the comfortable beach chairs. But it was also very cozy in the restaurant. A must for fish lovers.

We love this restaurant. It's self-service, which means you choose what you want, pay, get the drinks immediately and then get a beeper/buzzer that lets you know as soon as the food can be picked up. The ambience is great! You can see the city harbor and sometimes you can watch the fishermen taking fish out of the nets. The fresh fish is on display - depending on the catch and demand, it can sometimes only be 2 or 3 different fish! Statements that one would expect something different from the largest fish counter in Rügen are simply wrong - the fish counter for sale to take away is not in Kutterfisch, but in Kutter 4. The two are now a 3-5 minute walk from each other!!!! And anyone who complains about frozen fish: where is freshly caught salmon near Sassnitz???? Of course, the restaurant doesn't only serve fresh fish. If you value it, you have to pay attention to the display (not always labeled - that would be an optimization request from me to the team) or simply ask. We have been there many times and every day for 2 weeks in March and we are thrilled with the friendly and highly motivated staff. Of course, this restaurant is often very busy and in high season you have to expect waiting times at almost any time. But you can also make a reservation indoors, which I would definitely recommend for groups of 5 people or more. My personal tip: cod meatballs and of course any fresh fish! You can also put together the side dishes yourself if the suggested combinations don't suit you.

We have been to Sassnitz many times, but so far we have always eaten on the cutters in the harbor. Now we were in the self-service restaurant and have rarely eaten fish so well. The plates were beautifully presented and the quality was great. The waitresses at the counter were very polite. Can recommend the restaurant without reservation.

Always worth a visit! Good food, fair prices, nice staff and then the view of the small harbor. Anyone who finds a fly in the ointment here is just spoilsport. 🤣

The eyes had more appetite than the body could handle. They are large portions. I can recommend everything and I would be happy to come back.

I ate 2 fishbrötchen matjes there, not bad, not exceptional either. Unfortunately dogs are not accepted (not even in the restaurant only - stupidity without name...) so I had to make do with the cold and not the pretty restaurant room. Staff not very open but that’s a cliché in Mecklenburg… ahoi!

We have definitely eaten at Kutterfisch on each of our stays in Sassnitz on Rügen, so it has been for over 20 years and it is always worth a trip, including today, January 2nd, 2025! It was noticeable that the holidays were still ongoing and that many families with children and grandparents were out and about. It was very tasty, but my husband and I noticed that the mustard sauce for the panfish dish didn't taste like usual, but was a bit "stretched" and contained less mustard. So there was less flavor in the sauce and it seemed thin. It's a shame, but the portion was beautifully prepared and sufficient, as well as very well prepared cod. We will be back and wish the operators of Kutterfisch a successful 2025. Your couple R.

I was here for the second time today and had fried flounder from the Baltic Sea from my own catch, with fried potatoes. The portion was really generous, because there were two flounders for only 14.90 euros. It was also very tasty. I had fried potatoes as a side dish. It was definitely potatoes, but not really fried.
