Restaurant Kurpark in Bad Orb

Unfortunately, our visit to the Kurpark restaurant was rather disappointing. The food was very bland, and the service also left much to be desired. For example, we had to fetch the soup ourselves – something you wouldn't expect in a restaurant. The fish dish was unfortunately poorly prepared and served. The drinks we ordered were initially forgotten, so we had to ask again. In the entire dining room with approximately 15 tables, there was only one server on duty, which naturally had a negative impact on the service. We sincerely hope that the restaurant will rethink and improve its service and the quality of the food in the future.

My partner and I went to the hotel's attached restaurant last weekend for dinner on Friday and Saturday as part of a hotel package. The food was good and tasty. The service, however, could have been improved. I think this is more a matter for the restaurant management/service staff. The staff were all very friendly and helped as best they could. My partner has a nut allergy, and we were assured that one of the dishes contained no nuts. When it was served, it was explained that it did contain nuts, and therefore I would either eat the dish or send it back. We both had the same dish without nuts. I don't understand why there are two different pieces of information when ordering and when served, and why the restaurant manager, from whom we ordered the dish, gave us different information than the server who served it. If a wine recommendation is no longer available, in my opinion, it shouldn't be posted on a board or at least crossed out (it happens that bottles run out). All in all, I'd like to say again: the food was good, the service could be improved, and I'd like to explicitly point out that the service staff were very attentive and friendly. I think there's something else wrong here. Unfortunately, given the current situation, I can't recommend it. Even though it's tempting to dine here due to the hotel's proximity to the thermal baths.

The overall impression was "substandard." There were about 30 of us dining and we had made reservations. We were given a printed paper menu for everyone! After we asked for more menus, copies were made. Ordering drinks took a very long time, and some drinks were forgotten. You order a meal and get it yourself from the buffet. The buffet was quickly empty, and the wait until it was refilled took over 10 minutes. A small line formed. As a result, the buffet was immediately empty again, and we still had to wait. I had roasted duck breast pieces, which were tough. They were out of them for the second course and were then replaced with duck liver without comment. The gnocchi were tough. The kids had schnitzel with fries, which were good, but there was also a long wait, and they reminded the waitress to order. After the meal, the service seemed to have forgotten about us, and we were left high and dry. The steaks we ordered were very good, and they were brought to our table. Not a star for the poor value for money, the almost always empty buffet, and the abysmal service. We experienced the exact opposite at another restaurant over Christmas.

Nicht zu empfehlen, Essen gibt's am leeren Buffett. Habe mit anderen Gästen über 15 Minuten am leeren Buffett gewartet, unglaublich. Getränke und die Pommes für die Kinder wurden vergessen.

Wir hatten Frühstück und Abendessen hier. Reichhaltiges Frühstück mit frischen Obstsalat, knusprigem Bacon, vielen Säften. Das Abendessen war im Rahmen der Halbpension des Hotels. Keine Riesenportionen, für mich ausreichend. Ich habe Gemüse vermisst. Salatbar darf man nur in Anspruch nehmen, wenn man auf die Suppe verzichtet. Für 35 Euro schon happig. Der Service war gut und freundlich.

Because I booked the hotel at the thermal baths, with half board in the Kurpark restaurant. The breakfast is very varied and delicious. Here you can strengthen yourself for the day. The dinner is also very tasty, all fresh ingredients and beautifully decorated. The service is very friendly. The restaurant is recommended.

The breakfast for hotel guests is not overwhelming, but good. To eat cake in the afternoon, we strongly recommend a walk to another café. I see an extreme difference between the expected hotel guest catering and the food offered in the evening, so I suspect that breakfast and coffee parties have nothing to do with the evening business other than the use of the same rooms. Regarding the core competence of the hotel restaurant in the evening, I would like to praise the very good food and excellent service. The selection on the menu is not very large, but that usually shows high quality and concentration on the best possible preparation, which I found to be successful. I limit my assessment of the restaurant to my experiences in the evening because I am of the opinion that this is the only thing that is meant if you want to know something about the "Restaurant Kurpark".

Die Küche ist nicht schlecht, vor Corona war sie besser...Nur begrenzte Auswahl a la Carte...Die Restauration ist geräumig und modern eingerichtet. Das Personal ist freundlich, jedoch mangelt es teils an der Qualifikation.. Zu wenig für ein 4-Sterne Hotel. Dennoch wichtig für Bad Orb.

Auch in diesem Jahr waren wir auf Durchreise und haben in Ihrem Restaurant gegessen. Das Personal war wieder sehr freundlich und flink. Das Essen war sehr lecker.... Daumen hoch.

Die Auswahl der à la carte war enttäuschend klein. Das Essen für Halbpension-Gäste des Hotels zwar preiswert, stand aber ziemlich lange auf dem Buffet. Insgesamt hätte ich von dem schönen Hotel mehr vom Restaurant erwartet.

Wenig stimmungsvolles Ambiente im Gastraum, eingeschränktes Angebot. Ratsam wären Veranstaltungen zumal ein Klavier vorhanden ist (nur Deko?).

Im Rahmen einer Übernachtung im Hotel an der Therme haben wir im Restaurant zu Abend gegessen und gefrühstückt. Das Abendessen im Rahmen der Halbpension für 27 Euro pro Person war eine Enttäuschung. Geschmacklich nicht überzeugend. Service freundlich aber schleppend. Das Frühstück war groß und reichhaltig. Leider waren die Brötchen nicht alle frisch (zum Teil aufgebacken) und das Rührei ein Fertigprodukt! Leider nicht zu empfehlen!!!

Ontbijt was zeer uitgebreid met keuze voor zowel warm als koud. De aangeboden 4 gangenmenu was zeer lekker.

Da wir ein Wochenende im Hotel an der Therme waren, haben wir auch im Restaurant gegessen. Das Essen war wie in der Kantine. Entweder Büffet oder Menü.eine Brokkoli Suppe war schlimmer als eine Tütensuppe und der Fisch war tot gegart.

I had pasta with Pfifferlinge and it tasted good. In the summer if you are not coming from within the thermal spa but as a visitor you can sit outside. There are probably better, more refined alternatives in Bad Orb but it is definitely not a bad choice if you are close-by.

Preis-Leistung stimmt hier leider nicht ganz. Der kleine Teller Nudeln für ca. 12,-€ war ok aber nicht überragend. Bekommt man bei jedem Italiener günstiger und besser. Auch die anderen Gerichte waren zu teuer für das was man erwartet. Personal war aber freundlich und schnell. Im Sommer kann man nicht draußen sitzen, was ich sehr schade finde. Der Raum ist klimatisiert.
