Very friendly staff and good food, always happy to come back!

Unfortunately, we were fooled by the positive overall rating: A pan-fried schnitzel for €19.90 means two small, pre-breaded, uniformly rolled industrial schnitzels with a (small) handful of fries. Shocking... The service was wonderfully friendly and attentive.

The vaulted cellar is comfortably furnished, and the service is friendly. The prices for the food and drinks are at a big-city level. The portions are manageable.

Not a single designated vegan dish. I ordered the tagliatelle without Parmesan, which was truly delicious. However, I expect a little more in the 21st century. There are always options. A few suggestions: mushroom or spinach dumplings, vegetable rice pan, risotto, tomato soup, pea soup, spaghetti Bolognese with beluga lentils, and much more can be wonderfully prepared without animal products. We were here with 21 people after a historical city tour, and our food was served quickly and easily. The waiters were very friendly, and everyone enjoyed the food. We felt very comfortable in the beautiful vaulted cellar.

We strolled through Neustadt today and discovered a beautiful restaurant. It was truly quaint inside and very inviting outside. We had Palatinate bratwurst and a cordon bleu with bacon and Gouda. Also a side salad. Wonderfully fresh, with a delicious dressing. I ordered a sauce to go with it at very short notice. I was offered an onion sauce. I agreed; I just can't live without sauce, but to be honest, I was a bit worried about the onions. And in a flash, the sauce arrived. Super fast and hot. But what can I say: It tasted great! And best of all, no unpleasant feeling all day or evening. On the contrary: This is actually the first onion sauce that hasn't left me with a sick feeling in my stomach. You can really tell: Someone knows what they're doing here! Bottom line: we won't be back here for the last time.

Impeccable. Even if—at least for me—there are better saumägen in the Palatinate. All in all, it was a lovely evening.

It's a good restaurant. For me, it was "just" OK! The service was friendly, but they need to be more attentive!

Very nice place, but my side dish portion was ridiculously small. After complaining, they replaced it free of charge. Otherwise, it was very nice!

It was a beautiful garden with great food

Our chicken breast fillets were perfectly prepared, the salad fresh, and the marinade perfectly seasoned. When we asked about allergens, the waitress was very attentive and took her time. All allergens are listed on the menu, even those that the kitchen might "just" come into contact with. This issue is taken very seriously here. The interior looks very rustic, and we enjoyed the beer garden. We're thrilled and would gladly come back.

Unfortunately, the food was mediocre; the burger was significantly overpriced for what it was. One of our dishes didn't even come with half the fries compared to the others. When we asked about it, the waitress was unsympathetic and brought another fries, but cheekily charged for it. In my opinion, that's ridiculous, as the difference was obvious. We won't be back.

We appreciated this and it contributed to the positive overall impression. The food was okay, with solid flavor, but nothing particularly special. We found the prices too high for what was offered. Summary: A pleasant evening with regional charm and great service. The food was okay, but the value for money still has room to grow.

Dear Kunigunde team, We had a short break in your beautiful city. A friend recommended your restaurant, and we visited you on a Wednesday evening. The outdoor area is beautifully designed, and the service was very friendly and attentive. We started with a dark Kellerbier. For starters, we had a side salad and fried fresh mushrooms. The combination of salad ingredients isn't something you see everywhere. For the main course, we had the Kunigunde Burger with delicious homemade fries. I've never eaten such a DELICIOUS BURGER! My boyfriend had the schnitzel with fried potatoes. We only discovered how crispy fried potatoes can be with you. To finish off, we had "Hot Love" and Kunigunde's chocolate cake. The ice cream with the fresh, warm raspberries was very good. The ice cream was top-quality, and the raspberries were certainly freshly picked locally. The chocolate cake with the scoop of vanilla ice cream was a dream. The cake batter was so soft, and the warm chocolate mixture was perfectly balanced. We finished with an espresso. Urige Lokal mitten in der Innenstadt. In einer Seitengasse. Toller Service und leckeres Essen. Es werden hier auch Rittergelage angeboten. Wir fanden es gemütlich und können es empfehlen.

The restaurant is truly a real eye-catcher. A fantastic location. The staff is super friendly and very attentive. The food – we had the Cordon Bleu – was delicious. However, it loses a point here, as a meal with salad costs almost €30. However, it lacks that wow factor and that certain something. Paying over €100 for two people with four drinks means you'll have to pay more for a 5-star restaurant. But it's still a restaurant worth trying.

You can sit outside here, the staff is very friendly, and the place is very clean. Highly recommended.

Cozy rustic atmosphere. Staff very friendly. Food was good. Beef strips a bit tough. No ketchup or mayo included with the fries. Each ketchup and each mayo for our children's fries cost an extra €0.70. You can do it, but you don't have to.

We came across this restaurant by chance on our May 1st trip. We were very happy with the food, the service and the ambience. Anytime again when the opportunity arises.

The taste of the food is average, nothing special. The prices, however, are excessive. It's also not particularly child-friendly, there are no small portions on the menu, only on demand and then very expensive, like a normal dish.

Clocky cellar, great food, great service

Beautiful vaulted cellar, you receive a very friendly welcome and service!! The food selection could be better adapted to the medieval/vaulted cellar setting. A bit too many French fries as side dishes, schnitzel and burgers are certainly tasty...but are they appropriate there? The spirits are perhaps a bit too expensive... Perfect for lingering at the bar or tables.

A place with history and stories. In addition to the Kunigunde food, the wine and the schnapps - everything in the rustic cellar.

Einer der ersten warmen Abende in diesem Jahr für uns, an denen wir den kleinen Bier- und Weingarten als Touristen besuchen konnten. Das Essen (Burger und toskanisches Nudelgericht) fein und preislich angemessen. Viel mehr aber haben wir uns wohlgefühlt. Die beiden Bedienungen waren zuvorkommend und hatten sichtlich Freude an ihrer Arbeit. Da ist man gerne Gast. Vielen Dank!

Schönes Ambiente das aber schamlos ausgenutzt wird. Ich habe den Pfälzer Teller für 22,- Euro bestellt. Bei der Bestellung wurde ich gefragt ob ich Kartoffeln/ Kartoffelstampf möchte. Für über 5 Euro habe ich mich überfahren gefühlt. Die schiere Menge des Essens war mehr als ausreichend. Allerdings war die Qualität bis auf die Scheibe Saumagen, unterirdisch.

Due to an extended training course in Neustadt, we're always looking for new places to eat. This restaurant is truly fantastic. Very friendly and fast service. The food and drinks were delicious and good. We had made a reservation in advance as we were a group of 12. We'll probably go there again. Thank you.

Our first Saumagen ever and yes I would order another again - they also have an outside area which we recognized too late but we felt super comfortable inside anyways. Great vino offerings too so nothing to explain at all I guess

A real highlight in Neustadt! The food is always delicious and prepared quickly. I especially recommend the Kunigunden Burger and the Pfannenschnitzel – simply delicious! For dessert, the Rostigen Ritter (rusty knights) are a must. The atmosphere is unique: whether in the rustic vaulted cellar, outside under umbrellas, or as a special treat in the converted barrel – everyone will find their favorite spot here. The service is always friendly and courteous, and the prices are reasonable. A definite recommendation for anyone who wants to enjoy good food in a cozy atmosphere!

We go there again and again, for me it's always the Kunigunde burger with the fries, but the rest looks delicious every time. I also love the rusty knights. The staff is super friendly, we will continue to go there in the future. Reservation recommended, it is often fully booked.

It is a really nice and cosy place. We came without reservation, and the staff immediately found a place for us. Unfortunately, I didn't recall the waiter's name, but she was very friendly. Delicious traditional German food. Highly recommend this place.

Wir hatten reserviert und dabei schon die Aussage bekommen, dass wir ins Fass müssen, denn alles andere sei schon voll. Das war Klasse, denn wir saßen in einem Holzfass (wie eine fahrbare Sauna) mit 6 Personen, es sollen 8 reinpassen, aber dann wird es sehr eng. Schon die Begrüßung durch das Personal war herzlich und wir fühlten uns als Gäste. Das Fass steht im Biergarten, aber das machte uns nichts. Die Bedienungen mußten halt leider in die frische Luft kommen. Wir wurden immerwieder nett gefragt, ob wir noch etwas möchten, oder ob alles in Ordnung sei. Das Essen war lecker und optisch gut angerichtet. Wir fühlten uns Sauwohl und kommen gerne bei unserem nächsten Besuch in Neustadt adWstr wieder. Preis Leistung passt.

Very friendly staff, you feel at home, great atmosphere, delicious food, invites you to linger

We've eaten there several times, and now, with our kids, we've had the Knight's Banquet. It was fun, delicious, and more than filling. It was very good value for money. The cellar vault was perfect. The only downside was that they initially only served an alcoholic refreshment. As a Palatinate native, we're used to that. No problem. In that spirit: People of Neustadt.

Quaint. A great impression as soon as you walk in. Reservations required for groups, useful for couples. Map not huge but good. The selected dishes - burgers, steaks, Palatinate plates - were all praised. Service quick, friendly, absolutely OK. I'd love to come back

Knight's banquet with live music

Spray cream and disposable spoons at a not really cheap knight's meal result in a point deduction. The employees were also a bit overwhelmed with the drinks replenishment when the restaurant was full. Otherwise it's a very nice idea and in "normal operation" the restaurant is really recommended!

We really enjoy coming here. The food is always consistently good, the service is very friendly and special requests are taken into account. A rustic ambience that radiates cosiness.

Amazing atmosphere and experience. Feels like you're in a cellar. They serve Paulaner, which is my favorite, so that's a plus. The food is great and staff is very friendly and most speak English. My favorite restaurant in Neustadt.
