For me one of the best Indians! The food is always delicious and the staff is warm, friendly and attentive (unfortunately the latter is not a given). The atmosphere is very cozy. You feel really comfortable here. There is a wide selection for vegetarians and vegans.

Ordered food for delivery today. Unfortunately the delivery was not complete. After a call back, the missing food was delivered super quickly. Great customer service and the food is always absolutely delicious.

Very tasty and authentic Indian food! Personally, I have to most of them Colorful vegetables were somehow missing from the main courses offered. My dish "Vegetable Tandoori Chicken" had a little bit of carrot, okra and zucchini, but I would have liked a lot more vegetables in it. There was enough rice and the portion size of the main course was good. I was full. Otherwise very friendly and competent service. Price/performance is really very good! Authentic and very cozy atmosphere. Very comfortable indoors in winter and not overheated! Definitely recommended for fans of Indian cuisine!

Absolute favorite restaurant! If you like Indian food, this is the place for you. All dishes are also seasoned for European tastes, so none of the dishes are unnecessarily spicy. If desired, the spiciness can of course be ordered additionally. The operators are simply extremely nice and accommodating. Absolute recommendation.

Established and popular restaurant in Neustadts City not far from the train station. Extensive lunch menu at fair prices! Half of the elongated oval plates are heated so that the warm part of the dish stays warm for a long time and the salad on the other side stays cool! Little things like this increase the enjoyment. Service extremely courteous and friendly.

The culinary journey continues with the accompaniment of an extremely friendly and helpful staff, who are happy to respond to guests' wishes and questions. The authentic Indian food is a delight for the palate and soul. When preparing the dishes, attention is paid to using regional products, which is reflected in the quality of the dishes. Anyone who has ever had the opportunity to dine in India will definitely get their money's worth here. For my part, I was immediately transported back to the beautiful and exciting times in this country. But newcomers will also get their money's worth here. In addition to the wonderful selection from the normal menu, there is also a regular special menu (in the summer, for example, there was a menu with sophisticated street food). It never gets boring here!

Everything tasted great, the lamb practically fell apart with the first bite and was simply delicious. The atmosphere is very cozy and the music fits in wonderfully. The service is very friendly. I would have liked to eat more, but the portions fill you up well. Everything is really great.

Wir waren vor einer Vorstellung im Saalbau im Himalaya eingekehrt, durch Zufall, da wir auf der Suche nach einem Abendessen waren. Wir waren sehr positiv überrascht, es hat super geschmeckt und der Service war hervorragend. Es war unser erstes indisches Essen und wenn wir näher nach Neustadt hin wohnen würden, wären wir regelmäßig dort zum Essen. Leider wird es durch die einstündige Anfahrt für uns "nur" ein Ausflugsziel werden, aber wir werden bestimmt noch einmal kommen.

The ambience wasn't quite right for me but that doesn't take away from the food, it was tasty and really well seasoned. 👌 The prices were OK, parking is a bit difficult. There is the "Old Gymnastics Square" next door, but it is always full and the parking garage is relatively expensive.

I spend a week in Neustadt every year on business. As a vegan, it was difficult for me to find something to eat until I discovered Himalayas. I went here every other day and was able to order something different every time. The quality of the dishes (especially the vegan biryani) impressed me. My colleagues were also happy with the lamb they ordered. The portions are large and the price-performance ratio is fair. I look forward to coming back next year. Update: A year later I'm back in Neustadt and I still love the biryani. This time I also had papadam with three different dips, which are not only good for sharing but also highly recommended. I will definitely order the Kashmiri tea again. I look forward to visiting again in the coming days and years. The quality and taste remain top notch.

The place is really pretty and they have a heart for animals. The guava iced tea I had was very delicious and refreshing. I couldn't say much about the food because it was a disaster to even order. I ordered a vegetarian starter platter which is marked with a on the menu. When ordering, I also specifically pointed to the one I chose. Since it arrived in batter, I didn't see what was being served to us at first. One person of us is not allowed to eat fish and there were shrimps on the plate. I'm not really a vegetarian who tells others how to eat, but when I had to bite into a chicken I was grateful that I had a napkin to hand. Apart from the fact that I didn't want the taste, I didn't really feel well mentally afterwards. When we were told that we wanted to speak to the boss, it came straight away. Since he didn't show up despite repeated requests, we unfortunately left after waiting 30 minutes. I will no longer enter this restaurant due to lack of language or whatever because I felt physically and psychologically attacked and no one felt responsible to talk about it. Very unfortunate :(

We came 3 times in one week, during our holiday in Neustadt, as we were so satisfied the first time, it was each time a huge experience, so wonderful tastes of food. We tested different dishes during the three evenings and we can only say, marvelous! My husband had never eaten Indian food before, but he is now convinced...he is a big fan of Himalaya restaurant now! Congratulations to the chef and his helpful and very friendly team.,😍

I had the chicken korma and butter naan. My husband had the lamb burma? Both delicious but the korma was so so so so so good. Like weirdly better than any korma we've had before. Super recommend.

First of all: the staff was super friendly and the atmosphere was also really nice. However, I have to say that the food didn't really taste good. It was okay, but unfortunately it wasn't good compared to other Indian restaurants. The people of Neustadt probably don't know any better Indians, hence all the good reviews. I wouldn't recommend it. - edit to Himalaya's answer: we ordered chicken tikka masala and butter chicken, no salad! And that was a few weeks ago and not yesterday. I'm also just giving my honest opinion here and the food is okay, by no means bad, but in comparison it's unfortunately only a 2 out of 5 and I personally can't recommend it.

We came to the restaurant by chance as a tourist and with little previous knowledge of Indian food. The friendly staff gave us great advice on what suited our preferences. The food was a poem, the service was top, there is nothing, absolutely nothing to complain about, except that the restaurant is 183km away from us, we would like to go there more often.

Well, first our reservation was forgotten because (at least we assume) it wasn't noted. Then we called again (then we noticed that our reservation wasn't even noted) and asked if a dog could come with us. When we were in the restaurant... where would a dog fit in? So definitely not at our table. The salad and naan were very tasty. Service was nice except that one condition was that my food was simply cleared away even though I wasn't finished yet. We had specially ordered there before our visit to try out whether we liked the dishes. The curry was still great...but in the restaurant the "medium hot" curry was so extremely hot that it was even hotter than the spicy dip that is served with the naan. The dessert was very tasty but very small. During the night, two people at the table had stomach aches from eating.

The meal was not fulfilling, the starter was too big and with fish, even though the menu mentioned different types of meat, and also very fatty. The main course, lamb was so-so. A pity.

Slightly smaller restaurant located near Neustadt Weinstraße main station. Ambiance seems a bit kitschy, space at the table is a bit cramped. The menu is extensive, so there is something to suit every taste. The food tastes very good. The price performance ratio is very good. Service is attentive and friendly. Definitely a recommendation for eating out.

Der beste Inder der Stadt. Essen ist unfassbar lecker, der Service unfassbar freundlich. Ambiente echt schön gemacht. Kommen regelmäßig gerne und wurden noch nie enttäuscht.

Nach dem Besitzerwechsel wollten wir das Restaurant mal wieder testen. Das Essen war sehr lecker und jedes Gericht hatte seinen ganz eigenen Geschmack. Innen wurde vieles aufgearbeitet und neu gestrichen und jetzt wirkt alles heller und einladender. Ein guter mix aus Tradition und Moderne. Wir wurden sehr freundlich bedient und zum eingepackten Essensrest gab es sogar noch frischen Reis dazu.

Wir waren an einem Samstag dort . Die Stube war gut besucht und so ist man auf eine Reservierung angewiesen , wir taten das am selben Morgen . Gäste die unangemeldet kamen wurden freundlich abgewiesen . Das Essen war sehr gut, wir waren diesen Sommer selbst in Asien und haben daher ein wenig Erfahrung. Das Curry war mild und würzig zugleich . Als Vorspeise hatten wir eine würzige sehr geschmackvolle Hühnersuppe (die kann ich jedem empfehlen) und Samosas. Wir waren beide zufrieden. Das Personal ist freundlich und hat Wünsche schnell und zur Zufriedenheit umgesetzt. Auch Sonderwünschen wie zum Beispiel das weglassen oder reduzieren des Koriander auf dem Gericht. Hat wunderbar geklappt. Preis für das ganze Abend Menü, zwei Getränke, zwei Vorspeisen, zwei Hauptspeisen waren 57 € Wir kommen wieder.

Ich war schon einige Male hier, alles TOP. Essen war sehr gut, nächstes Mal nicht extrem scharf sondern INDISCH SCHARF😬😎! Auch die Toiletten!! Also IMMER WIEDER GERNE.... NAMASTE! Steve.

Wir gehen schon Jahrelang immer wieder mal essen hier. Doch, heute wollte ich wieder einen Tisch für die Familie bestellen, dann sagte man mir, daß man nicht mehr mit den Hunden kommen darf, weil frisch renoviert worden sei. Nach der Renovierung gefällt es mir hier noch viel besser! Auch die Toiletten wurden renoviert, danke :) Service und die Qualität des Essens scheint sogar auch NOCH besser geworden zu sein. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist auch weiterhin top.

I recently dined at the Himalaya restaurant and left with a sense of disappointment regarding the service. The evening started well with our main course, but we encountered issues when we tried to order sweet dishes. We were discouraged from doing so, which was off-putting. To add to the disappointment, we were asked to leave early as other guests were waiting to be seated outside. While I understand the need for efficient table turnover, guests should not be rushed out. A little more consideration for our dining experience would have been appreciated. In the end, it's important for restaurants to remember that guests are guests, and they should be treated with courtesy and respect. I hope the Himalaya restaurant takes this feedback into account and works on improving their service to provide a more enjoyable experience for all customers. The food was great and reminds us of authentic Indian cuisine we enjoy back home.

schneller Lieferservice und korrekte Leute. Sehr Saftiges, Zartes Hähnchenfleisch und habe durch die Würze einen neuen Libelingsgeschmack gefunden, kann ich nur weiterempfehlen!!!

Ein typisch indisches Restaurant mit üblichen Verzierungen. Der Service war sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Das Essen war sehr lecker, die Portion passt zum Preis. Man hat viele Auswahlmöglichkeiten. Die Lage ist zentral, drum kein schöner Ausblick. Den habe ich aber nicht vermisst. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Spontaner Besuch im Himalaya. Wir waren zu zweit und wurden sehr freundlich und herzlich empfangen und genauso bedient. Die Vor- und Hauptspeisen waren super lecker, die Portionen so groß, dass wir sogar noch etwas mit heim nehmen mussten. Wir waren rundum zufrieden! Definitiv wieder! :)

Also letztes Jahr war das mein lieblingsinder überhaupt. Aber anscheinend gibt es eiben neuen Koch und mein geliebtes Chicken Korma schmeckt leider nicht mehr so wie vorher. Sehr traurig. Ich bin immer gern gekommen weil die Bedienungen total nett sind und auch das Ambiente toll ist.

Unverschämtes Personal. Sagt langjährigem Kunden, der bei Kälte noch einen Moment sitzen bleiben wollte und fertig essen, er solle doch zuhause bleiben. Auch mit Geschäftsführerin kaum möglich, sachliches Feedback zu geben. Fühlt sich gleich angegriffen. Besser meiden ! Selbst Schuld, wer dort Kunde ist ! Es gibt auch freundliche, zuvorkommende Inder, vor allem in Indien.

Das Essen war frisch, kreativ und geschmacklich hervorragend: Eine feine Abstimmung der Gewürze macht dieses indische Restaurant zu etwas Besonderem. Hinzukommen die schöne Einrichtung, der sehr nette Service und eine informative Speisekarte. Lediglich die Beleuchtungssituation und die Sanitäranlagen könnten eine Auffrischung vertragen. Insgesamt eine absolute Empfehlung. Wir kommen wieder!

Haben uns am Pfingstmontag kurz entschlossen hier einzufinden, nach eine anderweitige Reservierung leider geplatzt ist. Wurden sehr freundlich empfangen, ebenso bedient. Essen ist sehr lecker und zu einem fairen Preis. Jederzeit gerne wieder.

Preislich „normal“ für indisches Essen. Geschmacklich leider eine Enttäuschung. Kaum indische Gewürze drin, teilweise versalzen. Schade, indisch ist meistens doch zumindest gut. Immerhin nettes Personal.

Wir waren zum Mittagessen eingekehrt. Gute Lage, angenehmes, stilechtes Ambiente. Beim Betreten waren nur zwei weitere Tische belegt. Rasche, freundliche Bedienung in angemessenen Zeitraum. Bis auf das Buffet hochpreisige Speisen. Speisen vom Buffet sahen optisch nicht einladend aus. Unsere Gerichte im Tiegel auf dem Rechaud serviert, waren ebenso optisch nicht ansprechend. Die Fleischstücke waren von einer dickflüssigen Sosse umhüllt. Geschmacklich leider keine Offenbarung, eher sehr schlichte indische Küche, ohne jeden Pfiff. Wir werden dieses Restaurant sich nicht wieder aufsuchen.

Indische Musik, indisch eingerichteter Gastraum (bestickte Bilder, geschnitzte Holzraumtrenner die die Tische separieren, Indische Musikinstrumente, Ganesha usw), indische Bedienung, indischer Koch. Sauber! (frische Tischdecken, saubere Toiletten, kein Staub in den Holztrennern..) SEHR freundlich und zuvorkommend (Reis wird kostenfrei nachgefüllt, Kinder bekommen einen Räuberteller, man kann schärfer oder milder bestellen, es gibt einen kleines Abschiedsgetränk..). Kinder sind willkommen! Erwachsene freuen sich über die aufmerksame, freundliche Bedienung. Das Essen ist superlecker! Alleine die Pappadams - mit Kreuzkümmel und krachelig und heiß. Für Kinder ist mild kein Problem da hier frisch gekocht wird. Die Auswahl ist groß und das Preis Leistungsverhältnis ist in unschlagbar. Fazit: Sauber, freundlich, lecker, günstig! Dieses mal waren wir mit einer Gruppe Freunden da. Aber wir kommen hier seit Jahren her und es ist immer toll. (Oma 90: Ei, ich könnte glatt den Teller ausschlecken.) (@lebenssalz: Hummer habe ich noch nie auf der Karte gesehen?! Die Preise im Himalaya sind auch nicht auf Hummerniveau)

leider hat der Besitzer uns endgültig vergrault. Während nicht gerade mit Freude bedient wird bietet das Mittagsbuffet viele leeere Schalen. Um ja kein Stück am Ende der Mittagszeit übrig zu haben. Wenn man am Ende dann noch eine handgeschriebene Rechnung erhält kann man sich denken wo das ganze landet... Das Foto der Quittung habe ich jedenfalls gut aufbewahrt. Sorry aber wer mehr Gäste möchte sollte an der Qualität der Bedienung und des Essens arbeiten.

statt Hummer serviert man die Garnelen... sowohl Lammfleisch als auch Hühnerfleisch sowie Garnelen wurden m.E. nach mit dem gleichen Gewürz zubereitet...Schlemmerblock 4:2 wird nur bei vier Hauptgerichte angewendet: selbst wenn für die Kinder die Portionen viel zu groß wären

Ich muss sagen ich war selbst noch nie in Indien. Aber schon viel in Südostasien unterwegs und dort war ich auch schon öfters beim Inder essen. Das Essen in diesem Lokal war geschmacklich gut es gab nichts zu meckern der Mango lassi schmeckte hervorragend. Die Bedienung war freundlich der Service war ebenfalls gut. Und die Preise halte ich für angemessen.Eine Bahnhofsatmosphäre so wie in einem Kommentar beschrieben war, kann ich nicht bestätigen. Jeder Tisch ist mit einem kleinen holzgeschnitzten Raumtrenner abgegrenzt, es entsteht eine gemütliche Atmosphäre bei indischer Musik. Wir werden wohl wieder kommen. Das dass Essen der Inder etwas schärfer ist sollte jedem klar sein. Wir waren zufrieden.

Very close to the centre of Freudenstadt, and good value too. Service was attentive and prompt. Best to go for a named dish, like Chicken Makhani, as the basic curry was rather simple and not as spicy or refined as the average restaurant you'd find...
