Restaurant Kreta in Fritzlar

We became aware of the restaurant spontaneously. It was very nice. Like a little vacation. The food was very good and the waitresses were very friendly. Great hospitality - like on Crete. We'll be back

Very good food and above all very friendly staff. The interior of the restaurant is reminiscent of good bourgeois with a touch of Greece. And that is completely sufficient. We felt very comfortable and would like to come regularly if we didn't live so far away.

Today, the two of us had a very pleasant visit to the Kreta restaurant in Fritzlar. The setting is a mix of home-style cuisine with a touch of Greek, which is perfectly adequate. We decided to go to Kreta on the spur of the moment, as it's not that easy to find a restaurant that serves Sunday lunch these days. Just walk up, ask for a free table, and that's it. No annoying questions about whether you have a reservation, etc. Very attentive and friendly service. The food was really good 👍. We felt very comfortable and would gladly come back.

There was a very awkward young man in service who literally brought the drinks on the fly. After successfully completing the wiping course for beginners, there were a few confusions with the grill plates - plates in, plates out... but that was also mastered with flying colors. Food was plentiful and good. There was even more ouzo, which then ensured that the lamps were turned off and “everything was forgotten”… the little cat this morning was free. Thank you very much😉 The flowers on the window could use a little more water. The Interior is a bit old, but ok.

An absolutely recommended Greek restaurant! The food was incredibly tasty, fresh and authentically prepared. The service was extremely friendly, attentive and gave us a warm welcome. In addition, the prices are really fair

I've traveled a lot and eaten out a lot. However, I have never felt as comfortable and welcome as in the Kreta restaurant. The food is absolutely top and the lamb fillet is the best thing I have ever eaten. Over one or two ouzos you can talk to the boss and learn more about Greek cuisine, lifestyle and hospitality and also make new friends with him and other regular guests. The Kreta tavern is a not really secret tip for all visitors to Fritzlar, which I am happy to give to everyone.

We ate there yesterday with 7 people. The food was very tasty, I haven't had such good Greek food in a long time. The atmosphere was very good, and the ouzo on the house went well with it. We'd love to come back! Clear recommendation!

The best Greek tavern in northern Hesse and the world. An absolute model of hospitality and delicious food. We are totally enthusiastic repeat customers and have never been disappointed. The food, whether takeaway or on site, is always of the best quality and to the point. The portion sizes are always sufficient and special requests can also be implemented without any problems. Price/performance is more than okay. You can only feel good. Cozy guest room and warm hosts and team. Luckily, you won't find anything chic. The children are welcome guests and also feel right at home. You are also welcome after your meal with drinks in a cozy atmosphere and can spend many wonderful hours in the Kreta restaurant. Of course we'll see each other again soon!

Unfortunately a restaurant we won't go to again. The food was very little for the price and the quality was insignificant and unloving. The owner served very nicely and openly. The restaurant has more of an old pub feel and doesn't have a Greek atmosphere.

A treasure for Fritzlar - rght in the heart of the old town. The owner greeted me with a complimentary Uszo and his hospitality never ended. The lamb cutlets were a pleasure for the gums and the homemade tzatziki is the best in the region. Highly recommend this place if you have a hankering for Greek cuisine. 5 stars! ⭐️

We've been there twice now, the first time it was great but today it was a total failure...it's a shame, the food was cold and the portions were very small for the price.....

The food took longer and the portion was quite small. But everyone is friendly. Atmosphere more like a corner pub. But food tasted good. It was very positive that not only the adults got a snap, but the child was also able to toast with KiBa.

A fantastic Greek restaurant that I can only recommend! 🇬🇷 The meal was an absolute delight - the souvlaki was tender and juicy, the tzatziki was homemade and incredibly tasty. 🥙🧄 The portions were generous and everything was freshly prepared. The atmosphere was authentic and cozy, you feel like you are on vacation in Greece. 🌴 The staff was super friendly and attentive, which made the evening perfect. Auf der Durchreise haben wir uns für eine Übernachtung in Fritzlar entschieden. Mit der Wahl dieses Lokals sind wir mehr als zufrieden. Sehr guter aufmerksamer Service und gutes Essen. Wir haben nette Gespräche mit der Bedienung und dem Chef führen können, der seine Gäste ebenfalls gut im Blick hatte und alle haben uns das Gefühl gegeben, dazu zu gehören und willkommen zu sein. Ein Stück gelebte Gastfreundschaft, die wir oft auf unseren Reisen vermissen. Vielen Dank dafür und weiterhin viel Erfolg PS: der Ouzo ist sehr zu empfehlen

We were guests at the Kreta Restaurant with 9 people. The decor of the restaurant is very outdated. Some of the lighting was no longer in order and you even sat in the dark in the women's toilet. The staff was friendly but seemed a bit overwhelmed. It took a good half hour until we had our first drinks. In some cases the wrong people were brought to us several times. All drinks tasted stale, whether beer, cola or Fanta. The starter salad was only available after an hour and only upon request. We had to wait over 1.5 hours for the main course. And repeated inquiries were necessary. All dishes except two pasta plates were lukewarm to cold. We spoke directly to the staff about it. The reaction was not what we expected. The innkeeper questioned it first. Then tested with “laying on of hands” and then asked what we would expect now. After replying that we would expect warm food, he took the plate away and brought it back warmed up 2 minutes later. However, it wasn't enough to improve the generally mediocre food. We have one more experience, but we can only advise against a visit to this restaurant.

I haven't experienced such bad service in a long time. Called and booked a table. Which was unfortunately occupied. We were then forcibly assigned another one. After 25 minutes we were served for the first time. 12 minutes later the drinks arrived. And then not even the bottle of water I ordered, 0.75, but Fanta. Afterwards I was given a small bottle of water and when I asked for the large one I ordered, I was told: we don't have it. After about an hour a warm meal arrived, the taste was ok, but hot would have been preferable. The salad plate is also more like a tasting nibble. We've eaten, but we're not full. 2 people in service, the store is full. No structure. We weren't the only dissatisfied guests, the next table left after the first drink. The four people voluntarily abstained from eating. Even the small discount on the bill where the Fanta was instead of water is not compensation. We won't go there again.

Very tasty, always worth a visit!

At this Greek restaurant you feel a bit like you are in a German restaurant with Greek food. The staff is friendly and (most importantly for me) fast. I didn't have the feeling of being harassed, as is the case in many restaurants, but if there are empty plates on the table, for example, people ask if they can be cleared away. The food is extremely good. We had souvlaki, and I had the spicy version. I was told in advance that it was spicier, although in my opinion there was a pleasant spiciness in the food. There was also homemade aioli and tzatziki. Both were convincing. It was unusual to receive a liqueur before the meal and no ouzo afterwards, but that doesn't change the quality of the restaurant. For us, this was the first visit that came about out of a spontaneous reaction. I think we will visit this restaurant again.

Older looking restaurant, food was good, and service was out of this world. Any menu item could be customized, and the place even stayed open longer for us. If you are in the city and are in the mood for Greek food, definitely worth a visit, you won’t regret it. Super friendly owners, a restaurant you could find in Greece frequent by locals.

Questions about the food were answered in great detail and you could also change the menu according to your own wishes. The owners were great, it was very family friendly and felt like home. Always my pleasure. Highly recommended.

At Kreta in Fritzlar there is delicious, freshly prepared food from both traditional Greek cuisine and a few little additional surprises. The service is quick, effective and friendly. The boss also takes care of the guests in a pleasant, unobtrusive manner and in our case was very generous with drinks.

Wir (das bedeutet: eine 8-Köpfige Gruppe von Radfahrern bei einer 3-Tages-Tour) waren zwecks "Absacker" und "Abschluss-Snack" noch einmal eingekehrt. Der Snack (bestehend aus Gemüse, Salaten und Käse) war sehr lecker. Die Atmosphäre war sehr freundlich, insbesondere auch die humorvolle Kommunikation mit dem Wirt bleibt mir positiv in Erinnerung.

Hammer Essen! Schmeckt wie früher und ist einfach gehalten! Nicht viel schnickschnack. Richtig toll! Der Service ist unglaublich freundlich!

Wir kamen ausgehungert zu später Stunde und haben noch ein ganz leckeres Essen bekommen, das wir im Außenbereich an einem herrlichen Sommerabend genießen konnten. Der Service war klasse, der Wirt super nett und es haben sich auch noch interessante Gespräche mit anderen Gästen ergeben.

Sehr netter Chef. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Essen sehr gut, der Ouzo noch " guter". Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder.

Very pleasant and personable. We came by with six people in dirty work shoes. Wasn't a problem at all. Tables were easily put together outside and we were served at short notice. Food was very tasty and plentiful. Price-performance ratio was great. There was also a delicious homemade herbal liqueur and ouzo.

My girlfriend has lactose intolerance, this was handled very well, They didn't serve dessert, but we got home-made cake They prepare everything themselves

I ate a delicious, well-filled ouzo plate. Upon request, I even got a bit of both instead of fries or rice. In between, the landlord came and asked if I wanted any more side dishes or schnapps and if everything was OK. Both hosts were (as always) very, very friendly and accommodating!

Had dinner there today. Super tasty and the portions are generous. The staff was very friendly and the price/performance ratio was simply top class. Definitely not the last time there.

Excellent restaurant with authentic Greek cuisine. The dishes are delicious, especially the Kritharaki, and the atmosphere is very familiar and welcoming. Our host Vangelis always welcomes us with impeccable treatment and always with the best attention. 100% recommended in the small town of Fritzlar.

We stopped by for one, but the atmosphere and service were so great that we enjoyed one or the other snack and drink.

I have already read in other reviews about the very nice service and can only emphasize that. I have rarely been served so kindly and friendly in a restaurant. When we declined the ouzo, we were immediately served a very tasty non-alcoholic version. Even though it was our first time there, you felt like you were one of the regulars. Oh, and the food was delicious too. 🙃

Very family-run restaurant. With a great ambience. We were welcomed very nicely. The dishes are explained very well if necessary. The food was tasty, but the meat was too cooked in my opinion. All in all, we were treated nicely and deliciously and will come back

Celebrated milestone birthday with party of 17. We had an amazing time. Owners made the event memorable with their hospitality and amazing service. Everyone was especially raving about the appetizer "Überraschungsplatte". Extensive menu had tasty options for everyone. Produce is locally sourced and food was excellent. Could not have asked for a better experience and can't wait to go back soon.

Auf der Durchreise kamen wir eher zufällig in dieses schöne und gemütlich eingerichtete Restaurant. Wir wurden sehr freundlich empfangen und das Essen war ausgezeichnet. Wir kommen bestimmt wieder mal vorbei!

Wir waren zum Abendessen da. Sehr gemütlich und zuvorkommende Bedienung. Die Karte ist schön aufgeräumt und dennoch von allem etwas da. Dabei hatten wir ein Gericht entdeckt, dass nicht zum allgemein üblichen gehört und gleich ausprobiert. Eine Art Eintopf, dass in einem Tontopf zubereitet und über Stunden geschmort wird. Es hat phantastisch geschmeckt. Detailfragen zum Gericht selbst wurden seitens des Wirts auch umfänglich beantwortet. Kurzum, ein sehr gelungener Abend und wir werden bestimmt wiederkommen!

Das beste Restaurant in Fritzlar und im Umkreis. Familiäre Stimmung, gemütliche Atmosphäre, gut gelaunte und überaus flexible Servicekräfte und das Wichtigste: mega leckereres, traditionell griechisches Essen zu einem sehr fairen Preis. Wenn man in Fritzlar is(s)t, sollte man unbedingt hier einkehren.

Sehr guter Grieche mit wirklich sehr lieben und entgegenkommenden Inhabern. Lohnt sich! Likör und Ouzo gibt es genug:)
