Superb hosts, great service, and the food is also excellent and special. It certainly won't suit everyone's taste, so only 4 stars for the food. But in any case, it's a work of art.

Vouchers for the menu were a gift, and we were initially skeptical because of the slogan "quality over quantity." This often means large plates and small portions. However, during the three-course menu, we were served eight delicacies, each one explained in detail by the waiter. Some of the combinations were unusual, but always a taste experience. We will definitely be back.

My wife and I sat in the best spot right by the window, overlooking the kitchen. It's fun to watch the young team. The service was impressive, attentive, and dedicated to the food. A relaxed atmosphere, impeccable staff. The variety of flavors is incredible. Personally, we didn't like the combination of crispy fried poultry and fruit flavors so much. It just didn't fit together.

1. Excellent, incredibly impressive food (but the beef fillet was too raw). 2. Very friendly service (unfortunately, the explanations of the individual courses were too brief and quick...a shame!!! to follow along). 3. The menu should at least be in English, perhaps also in Spanish (that was our problem). 4. At least some English would be helpful when explaining the courses. 5. The noise level is too loud for older people (due to tables of 6/8).

Keep an eye on the bill. The food is truly superb and delicious. We had five courses, which in my opinion took too long—4.5 hours. The portions were excellently presented, but much too small. The drinks were very expensive...all in all, a good evening until the bill arrived. After reviewing the bill, we realized that we had simply been charged €25 for drinks. After speaking to the waitress, she accepted this as normal. Given the standard and prices, that's a no-go! Anyone who charges such prices must also be able to charge drinks properly. Sorry, but that ruined the evening! Keep an eye on the bill!

We had a wonderful evening together at the Kevin Gideon Restaurant. We opted for the five-course menu that evening and had no regrets. We would love to come back. Aside from the food, the fantastic ambiance is particularly noteworthy.

Unfortunately, I can only partially agree with the other reviews: - Wine extremely expensive - Quality of the accompanying wines was average at best - Hot courses served lukewarm at best - Octopus was tough - Goose liver was forgotten for the main course. Instead of taking back the plate, the goose liver was brought after 4 minutes, by which time the rest of the main course was unfortunately already cold - The curry completely dominated everything else for dessert, apparently intentionally, but unfortunately, it was far too dominant for our liking - We would have liked to have pointed these things out to the chef ourselves in a brief conversation, but unfortunately, no one else showed up at the table, so we're doing it this way, which isn't really our style... - The fact that I didn't understand the mushroom starter at all and the stock was too salty is something I'll just attribute to my own taste buds. Unfortunately, the evening didn't deliver what we had hoped for, which we drove 1.5 hours to Oldenburg for.

I'm a gourmet and have been to many renowned restaurants. I've never eaten as well as I did that evening at Kevin Gideon's. Here, I was able to experience culinary art at a very high level. Experiencing this art comes at a price (like any other that has a high level), and I was happy to pay it. Kevin Gideon can play with flavors, textures, and foods, creating compositions that surprise but also delight even the most discerning diners. None of his compositions are overpowering; in fact, they are harmonious and loving.

The entire evening was a delight from the very first moment. We had a five-course meal with wine pairings. House greetings were served in between. Each course was described in great detail by different waiters. Each wine was accompanied by an explanation of its origin, its ingredients, and even the occasional anecdote. Everything was served in a very humorous but unobtrusive manner. Finally, the chef himself came to our table and had a short chat with us. Folks, honestly, this is what gastronomy is all about, and this is how you feel at home as a guest. In our opinion, this is where hospitality and enjoyment meet.

Friday, June 13, 2025, was a lucky day! My first time visiting Kevin Gideon in Oldenburg with a dear friend. What a fantastic evening! From the warm welcome to the wonderful service from Talea, Alexander, and David, to Kevin's outstanding menu, it was a perfect evening. We chose the "complete package" with the two upgrades and an additional course from the vegetarian menu (asparagus with chanterelles and summer truffles), which was offered as a main course alternative. In every course, you could see and taste the incredible creativity, love, and passion that Kevin pours into every dish. It's not for nothing that he was nominated as Newcomer of the Year in Feinschmecker, and I would very much like (and am keeping all available fingers crossed from now on) to see a star twinkling in Oldenburg next year, too. Because it would be more than deserved! I've lived in Berlin for over 34 years, but whenever I visit my old hometown, I'll plan a stop in Oldenburg. This beautiful restaurant in the half-timbered house with a thatched roof, its modern decor, and the loving people there, who made you feel like family right from the start, is definitely worth the detour! Kevin Gideon was recommended by a friend. So I took the opportunity to give a voucher for a special birthday, hoping I could go. It worked out. It was a thoroughly successful evening. From the welcome, to the perfect service, to the absolutely fantastic food. A very pleasant atmosphere. The chef makes sure to help out with the service and have a little chat with each guest. He's incredibly personable. Thank you for the lovely evening.

Here, you can fully enjoy the evening. The attentive team guides you perfectly through the evening, and the menu surprises with its selection and very high quality. The ambiance is perfect and provides the perfect setting for the beautifully presented dishes without being intrusive. Highly recommended.

Unfortunately, I'm more than disappointed with the restaurant. I found the overall ambiance too dark, no candles, no fresh flowers... - okay, a matter of taste. The service was nonchalant, almost flippant. While serving almost every course, "Kevin" was praised effusively, almost over-the-top, for his indescribable creation, as if a salesperson were offering us a vacuum cleaner. I expect the dishes to be served with a brief description of the ingredients, and then I, as a guest, can enjoy them and decide whether I like them. And now to the dishes themselves: I had a 6-course menu. The main components of each dish weren't presented to my taste, but rather were composed in a messed-up way - too much! Too salty, too spicy, too many different ingredients. Not a flavor explosion in the positive sense, no wonder. And Mr. Gideon's "zero bread policy" is met with utter incomprehension. For me, bread is an essential ingredient to prepare my palate for the new taste experience between courses. I thought with nostalgia of the fine, stylishly prepared dishes of a wonderful restaurant in Bad Zwischenahn.

The food was magnificent: prepared with great attention to detail and incredibly sophisticated. The service was very friendly and accommodating. And the location was fantastic. What can I say: He and his team deserve a star from us.

There’s nothing to complain about here!

A wonderful summer day was crowned by a visit to Kevin Gideon. Attentive service welcomed us, a fine aperitif prepared us for the menu, and one flavor explosion after another followed for our palates. Even last-minute changes to the menu were handled with relaxed engagement. The individual courses were explained in an appetizing manner. From the welcome from the kitchen to the petit four, one culinary delight after another, accompanied by a good Pinot Blanc, we forgot the world outside. Thanks to the kitchen, to the service, for me, a highlight again the second time.

The restaurant is located in a wonderful, old, renovated building. It's cozy, somewhat dark, but homey, with tables and high chairs, a colorful mix of conviviality. The staff is extremely friendly, and the food is varied. The chef's style is puree, foam, and churn. Almost every course indulges you with one or more of these techniques. The wine selection is appropriate.

Four of us were at the restaurant and had a wonderful evening. The menu sequence was perfect, and the wine selection complemented the menu. Each wine further enhanced the dishes. I was able to enjoy the non-alcoholic beverages! Yes, in the truest sense of the word. I have never had the pleasure of tasting such excellent products. These, too, paired perfectly with the food and left an unforgettable impression. We thank Kevin and his team for this wonderful evening and the conversations about the food and drinks.

We spent a lovely evening with eight people enjoying excellent food. The service deductions are due to the fact that the intolerances indicated during the reservation were only accommodated after we had asked for them, despite having been reminded beforehand, and the fact that this person could not be accommodated for the snack at the end of the meal. In my opinion, this shouldn't be happening at the restaurant's high standards. A vegetarian menu is also offered on the website. At our table, only the standard menu was available.

A wonderful taste experience from start to finish!!! Online table booking was easy. During the week (Tues, Wed, Thurs), tables are often available. Extremely attentive and friendly, charming service! The staff like each other, creating a friendly atmosphere. A very informative sommelier. The ambiance in a renovated Lower Saxon courtyard is somewhat dark. The decor is cool, modern, but tasteful. Subtle, tasteful background music. Clean, somewhat austere, designer restrooms. 7-8 free parking spaces in front of the building. No set menu or à la carte options. A 5-course or 7-course menu with an outstanding variety of flavors and exquisite ingredients. Many delicious dishes from the kitchen. The surprisingly tasty non-alcoholic beverages really impressed me and piqued my interest. Overall, one wonders why this exceptional quality isn't rewarded with a star. It's definitely worth several visits. We'd be happy to come back!!!

Our table was beautifully situated, and the entire evening was a treat – both culinary and personal. Each single course was a small work of art, both in terms of taste and craftsmanship. It's truly fascinating what they conjure up here. We were delighted with every bite – our taste buds were having a real party! The wine pairing was also well-thought-out and harmonious. Each wine was presented with so much knowledge and passion that even a wine novice would want to delve deeper into the subject. The service staff was consistently friendly, attentive, and genuinely enjoyed their work. You could tell that the people here are passionate about their work. At the end of the evening, we were asked how we had enjoyed ourselves – only then did we mention that it was my birthday and that I had proposed to my girlfriend on that day. The joy and warm words of the team – especially from Kevin Gideon himself – touched us deeply and provided a perfect ending to the evening. It was a unique taste experience; the combination of cold and warm, as well as sweet and spicy components in the dishes was a highlight. Even as a driver, you didn't have to stick to water alone; the very large selection of non-alcoholic wines, which tasted truly excellent, perfectly complemented the menu. A spacious and elegantly furnished restaurant with good service and a very creative cuisine at a price that is not absurd - what more can you ask? I really hope Kevin will get his Michelin star in the near future - he sure deserves it, and I've eaten much worse in restaurants that had been awarded a Michelin star.

At Gideon you are not a guest, you are at home. The experience is really great, without exception all of the staff live for their job and enjoy what they do. Like being invited to dinner with friends. The ambience is simple and not too thick. Likewise everything else, to the point. What counts here is hospitality and of course the food. Apart from the actual menu, there are lots of little extras, good wine and intermediate courses. There is no attempt to be very subtle here. It is authentic and absolutely top class. In the end, Kevin came to us personally and asked for honest feedback on an equal level. Very pleasant. I won't go into the food itself; I couldn't go into it adequately enough here. Suffice it to say, I expected a lot and every expectation was exceeded. See for yourself.

A great atmosphere with super friendly staff awaits the guest. Every single course on the menu, which is explained in a relaxed manner, is a culinary experience. The wine accompaniment is just right and also pleases the palate. My companion and I really enjoyed this evening and are already looking forward to the new menu

We had a wonderful birthday dinner in a simple and very nice atmosphere. Very nice service with very good recommendations. We had the vegetarian and the meat/fish menu with 8 courses. Every course was an experience in itself and we would do it again in a heartbeat.
