Kaiserküche in Oldenburg (Oldb)

Heute war der letzte Tag der Kaiserküche. Das Essen war hervorragend. Zur Verabschiedung gab es für jeden Gast einen Schaumwein aufs Haus. Wir hatten einen Gutschein - ohne Datum ausgestellt. Uns wurde beim Bezahlen mitgeteilt, dass der Gutschein abgelaufen sei. Auf Nachfrage, wie man denn als Gast ohne Ausstellungsdatum wissen soll, von wann der Gutschein sei, wurde nur mit Achselzucken reagiert. Es wurde auch von Gastgeberseite kein Nachweis erbracht, dass der Gutschein tatsächlich abgelaufen ist. Wir hatten das Gefühl, dass es durchaus Masche sein könnte, Leute so über den Tisch zu ziehen. Auf unsere Äußerung, dass das Trinkgeld dann halt knapp ausfallen würde (Gutscheinwert 100 Euro, ist wohl Tringeld genug), wurde uns frecherweise gesagt, dass uns dann der ausgegebene Abschieds-Schaumwein in Rechnung gestellt werden könnte. Absolut unprofessionell! Mädel, Du hast echt den Job verfehlt! Zum Glück hat die Abzockermasche ja jetzt ein Ende! Sorry, war ansonsten echt ein schöner Abend. Aber "Erpressung" vom Personal geht gar nicht!

Einfach sehr zu empfehlen. Wir hatten ein perfekten Abend, das Ambiente war toll und das Menü war toll abgestimmt.

Ich durfte an einem abendlichen Fermentations-Kurs in der Kaiserküche teilnehmen und kann nur jedem, der sich für das Thema interessiert, empfehlen, dieses Angebot zu nutzen. Es war eine toller Abend mit viel Praxis und Theorie und einem sehr leckeren Essen in Verbindung mit netten Leuten und ein sehr schönen Atmosphäre. Vielen Dank an die Gastgeber Malte und Imke!

Ein kulinarisches Highlight in Bahnhofsnähe Oldenburgs. Vom Empfang bis zu Verabschiedung ein herzlicher und unaufgeregter Service. Die Speisen werden liebevoll in der offenen Küche zubereitet und alle Gänge ausführlich erklärt. Die Getränkebegleitung passte sowohl alkoholisch wie auch nicht-alkoholisch sehr gut zu den cleveren Gängen. Empfehlenswert ist der Platz an der Theke zur Küche sodass man beim Anrichten der Speisen zusehen kann. Ambiente, Musik (besonders NDW im WC) und Preis-Leistung runden die gesamte Atmosphäre ab. Auf bestem Weg zum Sternchen. Wir kommen sicher wieder.

Der Service war sehr freundlich; schade war, dass bei der Weinbegleitung der Rest aus einer Flasche einschließlich Depot ausgeschenkt wurde und das die Gläser teilweise nicht vollständig von Wasserflecken befreit waren. Es war allerdings auch sehr voll (Valentinstag). Die Weinbegleitung war hervorragend auf das Essen abgestimmt.

Ein echter Glückstreffer! Eher zufällig, weil nah zur Kulturetage hab ich dieses Restaurant entdeckt. Vom Tresen/Kitchen table aus, konnten wir in die offene Küche dem zweier Frauen Team zuschauen. Kleine Karte, was erstens die Auswahl leichter macht und zweitens die Zubereitung in hoher Qualität sicherstellt. Produkte von regionalen Anbietern top, auch das selbst eingelegte fermentierte Gemüse außergewöhnlich. Spannende Weinauswahl, die nach Charakter der Weine, anstatt nach Weiß, Rot, Rosé oder nach Ländern aufgelistet wird. So ist es leichter den passenden Wein zur Speisenauswahl zu finden. Einziger kleiner Kritikpunkt (meckern auf hohen Niveau). Wir hatten bei Reservierung ein Zeitfenster von 1,5 Stunden angegeben. Hätte der ausnahmslos freundliches Service, etwas mehr darauf reagiert, wäre vielleicht noch ein Dessert drin gewesen. Wir kommen wieder-mit mehr Zeit!

My tip: Be sure to check the current menu online beforehand. Some dishes aren't for everyone. Finding a non-alcoholic pairing is, in my opinion, a challenge. The wine pairing is a real blessing in that regard.

A top address in Oldenburg. Fine food and wine in a superb ambiance. Six courses require a bit of time, but it's definitely worth it to savor the diversity of the cuisine.

We spent a very pleasant and special evening at the Kaiserküche. Many thanks to the entire team for the fantastic food and excellent service. Everything is just right here! We particularly liked the approach of working with regional and seasonal ingredients. The drinks pairing with the meal were also very special – and the "non-intoxicating" accompaniment was in no way inferior to the classic alcoholic one (quite the opposite). Truly fantastic. A truly great restaurant, with upscale food that's anything but stuffy. It wasn't just delicious, but simply an experience overall. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening because both the service and the ambiance were simply perfect. The bread and dip were a bit bland for our taste compared to the rest of the menu. A softer baguette and more exciting dips would have made the meal perfect.

This wasn't our first time here. Malte knows his craft, and his staff are dedicated, friendly, and professional. The only thing that bothered us was the somewhat loud background music.

What an evening! We thoroughly enjoyed the menu. We regularly visit fine dining establishments seeking special taste experiences. We've been to the Kaiserküche several times and have never been disappointed. Yesterday, however, was exceptionally good. If there's anything to criticize at all, it's that the open kitchen, when fish is being prepared and even vegetarians don't like it, somewhat detracts from the taste experience. The chef and his team are obviously very reserved people. We appreciate that. As hosts, however, they could be a bit more approachable and open with guests, especially at the beginning of the evening. These are both truly minor quibbles compared to the outstanding food, the harmonious ambience, and the successful overall impression.

For me, this is the best restaurant in Oldenburg. We treat ourselves to a multi-course meal with a companion when we visit. This is, of course, more expensive. There's also always the option to dine à la carte. The menu is clear, which I really appreciate, as I know that a lot of love and effort has gone into the creation of each dish. Each dish is a composition of seasonal ingredients, so the menu changes seasonally. I'm always sad when my plate is empty. Yesterday, for example, we had a fabulous dessert: lavender honey parfait with white chocolate sauce and berries. It was a throwback to my childhood, as the taste of the sauce reminded me of a certain caramel candy. I'm also very grateful that they offer a companion that doesn't involve alcohol. It's always a joy to see the creativity that goes into the development of the drinks. The service is very attentive and welcoming to the guests. The ambiance invites you to relax and linger. Thank you for the lovely evenings with you!

Very nice ambiance with an open kitchen, but this did result in slight cooking smells, which later also lingered on one's clothes. Only the restroom signage was a disaster (for me, with age-related vision loss): curly lettering, insufficient contrast, and unusual labels. How is a foreigner supposed to understand that? I recommend using tried-and-tested pictograms. Food very good. Another positive: there's no extra charge for water.

We have been to the Kaiserküche several times now and love the concept, the regional ingredients and the very friendly staff. You can tell the passion of the owners in the restaurant. Whether menu or a la carte, we have always been very satisfied. Highly recommended

Wow. Wow. Wow. I was privileged to spend a wonderful, pleasant, and culinary dreamlike evening here. And all this in a region where culinary highlights are few and far between. From the friendly welcome to the attentive, warm, and competent service, including expert wine advice and the pleasant ambiance of the restaurant, right through to the food itself. And it was fantastic. Great interplay of flavors and combinations that completely captivated me. And that even though I was a bit skeptical after studying the menu. Making me, a carnivore, happy with just one meat (or fish) ingredient was nice. From now on, beurre blanc is only available with fermented rhubarb (which I don't really like, the rhubarb itself; fermenting it at home could be tricky), and strawberries now need tarragon. Easily a solid 5 points.

A fantastic menu. Top-notch craftsmanship. A wonderful taste experience. It's especially exciting to see what you can do with sauerkraut.

We absolutley loved everything about our visit sitting and dining on the kitchen counter. Even watching the intern cutting boxes and boxes of Asparagus. Itmight have helpeed to show him for 30 seconds how to hold the asparagsu and the knife. :-)

Update June 7, 2025 We went out to dinner with four friends for the Pentecost special. It was another great evening. In addition to the beautiful and surprising menu with upgrade options, the accompanying non-alcoholic drinks are highly recommended. We weren't the last guests that evening, but almost. And we realized that we visit the Kaiserküche far too rarely. Thank you! A very successful evening. We each opted for the large menu. One as per the menu and one vegan (with prior notice). And the non-alcoholic drinks. They were homemade kefir or kambucha – highly recommended. The dishes were beautifully presented. The flavors tended toward acidic/fermented. And everything was regional and seasonal. The water was served with the meal. A special restaurant in this price range and well worth a visit.

An extraordinarily extraordinary evening. Slow Food restaurants are often associated with more traditional cuisine. The Kaiserküche, on the other hand, uses the Slow Food principles of sustainability and regionality with light-hearted elegance to conjure contemporary, distinctive, and distinctive dishes: puristically composed, perfectly crafted, and incredibly intense in flavor. The accompanying drinks, whether with or without a kick, are sometimes unusual and surprising, but hit the spot (in taste). For example, the pastis with the (fantastic) fish consommée. And there's something else that truly made the evening perfect: the entire atmosphere was "slow" in the best sense of the word, relaxed and unhurried. The team in the service and in the open kitchen exudes such calm, friendliness, and professionalism that the entire room is full of good vibes. The service is incredibly attentive and yet pleasantly at eye level. Many small details contribute to this feel-good atmosphere, such as the unusually generous spacing between tables, the lighting concept, the stylish, calm interior that uses minimal colors and materials... and the trip to the restroom becomes an invigorating break, leaving you with a grin on your face. Hats off, you're doing a really great job. Highly recommended from Münster, and thank you for this wonderful experience.

I haven't eaten this well in a long time. Wonderful menu. Exceptional drinks, perfectly complementing the food. Attentive but unobtrusive service. That's how it should be. I was a bit bothered by the music, which I felt was a bit too loud. I'll mention it next time, and they'll probably take it into consideration. Thanks again.

All five courses of the grand menu were perfectly balanced, the wine pairings were perfect, and special treats, such as the pastis from Saarland, rounded off the fish course. The service was very attentive and friendly, and our many questions were answered with great enthusiasm. A highly recommended restaurant for special occasions!

The Kaiserküche is a relatively new restaurant near Oldenburg Central Station. It is run by a young team and seems to have star ambitions. But that doesn't work: Poor selection of wine accompaniment, these in small (i.e. about 100 ml per course) portions: It wasn't allowed to be tried beforehand, that's unusual. The Pinot Noir from Alsace was very bitter and we didn't finish it. The wine accompaniment is also too expensive for the portion size. Staff did not respond adequately to direct communication and criticism of this wine selection. We didn't like the taste or texture of the dishes (cheese course, salsify), only scallops and veal roulade were ok. the food was very expensive. Next time I'd rather go to a traditional pub. Funny: I couldn't upload my (critical) review for several weeks and there are almost exclusively 5 star reviews. A rogue who thinks evil of it. Addendum to the operator's reaction: Unfortunately, the answer confirms the lack of ability to take criticism. I miss responding to criticism professionally and addressing the factual points. Organic viticulture or not: it has nothing to do with the taste. And yes: there are enough alternatives in Oldenburg and around.

Everything was excellent and the food deserved five stars in terms of taste and quality. But the portion in the main course in particular was a bit manageable. That would have been ok as an intermediate course, but as a main course I would have liked a larger piece of goat, especially since it was so delicious. We would still like to come back.

The two of us ate here and thought it was wonderful! I don't usually write reviews, but now I have to write something. We started with a selection of aperitifs from the cart. Afterwards we decided on the large menu with the right drink accompaniment. We drank with and without alcohol to experience the full range. It was worth it! Conclusion: food: great menu, very seasonal and therefore really exciting about what you can do with the products Conclusion drinks: very suitable and tasty accompaniment, also Rauschfrei mega good and everything homemade! I can recommend it to everyone!!! Conclusion service: really nice and competent staff. It's really fun to watch the team work. Overall package: great atmosphere, super relaxed but also as interesting an evening as you could wish for! We'll definitely be back with lots of people! Thank you!!!

Absolute recommendation! Very upscale cuisine without being stuffy, we felt really comfortable and would describe ourselves as alternative. The food was amazing, the service was very good and the price/performance ratio was more than good. We will come back and recommend the Kaiserküche to others.

Excellent experience! The food was fantastic, particularly the pike perch, apple and celery composition was outstanding. We enjoyed the "intoxicating drink sequence" and felt that the match between beverage and food was really nice. 5 Stars!

Don't report back. I wanted to request catering from Kaiserküche. Unfortunately, I couldn't reach anyone on the phone and spoke to the answering machine. No call back for a week. Tried to call again - answered again. Again no call back. Edit: No response even after three weeks! It's a shame we were left hanging like that.

Auch wenn der Betreiber versucht kritische Rezensionen zu unterdrücken: Ein relativ neues Lokal in der Nähe des Oldenburger Hauptbahnhofs. Es wird von einem jungen Team betrieben und scheint Sterne-Ambitionen zu haben. So wird das aber nichts: Schlechte Auswahl bei der Weinbegleitung, diese in kleinen (d.h. ca 100 ml pro Gang) Portionen: Der Pinot Noir aus dem Elsass z.B. war geschmacklich sehr bitter, den haben wir nicht ausgetrunken. Für die Portionsgröße ist die Weinbegleitung auch zu teuer. Personal hat auf direkte Ansprache und Kritik dieser Weinauswahl nicht adäquat reagiert. Speisen fanden auch geschmacklich und in Textur nicht unseren Gefallen (Käsegang, Schwarzwurzeln), nur Jakobsmuscheln und Kalbsroulade waren ok. SEHR teuer s. Karte ! Nächstes mal lieber in ein gutbürgerliches Wirtshaus.

The review refers to the cooking course “Fundamentals of Fermentation”. The cooking course was very well designed and structured, the participants* were treated very well and all questions were answered. We had a really nice day in a great atmosphere and Malte was a great host! The course gives you a very good insight into the art of fermentation. We are very excited and have prepared more glasses at home. :) We can fully recommend the cooking course! Thank you for this great experience!

The three of us had a very nice and lovely evening. With the large menu we were able to experience and enjoy a variety of taste creations from the kitchen. The accompanying wine selection was perfect and the non-alcoholic accompaniment was also met with great enthusiasm. A very excellent and successful evening.

You don't even go there to eat - that should be clear... We received the visit there as a gift and redeemed it straight away on the occasion of a big birthday. At first I was extremely skeptical and without the voucher I would never have ended up there. Yes: the prices are tough, I have to admit that. On the other hand, when looking at the prices, you shouldn't lose sight of the effort involved! Everything fresh from the region is processed directly in the restaurant. Countless service angels who look after the well-being of the guests. Food and drinks that most of us are probably not familiar with. Everything was perfectly prepared and perfectly coordinated. Anyone who drinks their inferior coffee to go from a paper cup for eight euros or more on a sidewalk should be careful with criticism anyway. There's quality and creativity here - you don't evaluate a book based on the price of the paper, but rather based on the skill of the master behind it. Although I was initially a bit unsure about what the process would be like, the friendly spirits were there for every course and, smiling happily, explained what awaited the hungry palate in a few minutes. A real firework of culinary art! And otherwise? The toilets are clean and accessible to people with handicaps. There is nothing real to complain about here, even for the biggest complainers! Parking spaces are in short supply in Oldenburg and public transport or taxis are definitely a good choice for the journey... It's certainly a rare experience - but it's still an experience! And what a thing! We enjoyed being here - and we'd love to come back!

Good morning! We wanted to thank you again for the unforgettable experience in your Kaiserküche. This appeal to all taste buds was simply amazing - the enjoyment continues until this morning. Your creations make eating an experience: flavors and textures merge perfectly. Plus the accompaniment - intoxicating or intoxicating - which we would probably never have chosen ourselves, but which completed everything in the context. The service and open kitchen in such perfect harmony was also a real joy to experience. Everything went hand in hand and that made the evening exceptional. Thank you for this culinary journey. More appearance than reality. A bluff. We went there with a couple of friends expecting a culinary experience. Unfortunately we were very disappointed. A very unfriendly boss, inattentive employees and a bland 4-course menu. This restaurant in the train station district is not recommended

An exceptional restaurant for Oldenburg standards. Very modern and excellent food. There is a menu, choice between two dishes: the warm starter, the main course and the dessert. A la carte there are only very few dishes; the imperial kitchen is based on a fixed menu. The service was also exceptionally friendly and accommodating. Absolutely no comparison with other restaurants in and around Oldenburg. You have to like the furnishings, very modern and not for everyone.

Erst einmal Danke für einen wunderschönen Abend. Das Personal war sehr aufmerksam und hat es an nichts mangeln lassen. Ich habe mich rundherum gut umsorgt gefühlt. Am Tresen zu sitzen und in die Küche zu schauen, war eine tolle Idee und ist auch prima dafür geeignet, wenn mal alleine essen geht. Die Speisen sind sehr gut gemacht, einfach köstlich. Hier herrscht kein Sternestress sondern der Wunsch, regional gut zu kochen. Das finde ich sehr entspannend. Und warum reicht es nicht für 5 von 5 Punkten? Ich bin leider nicht satt geworden und das habe ich schon öfter gehört. Alles andere TOP!

Food, ambience, service, everything was simply outstanding. We sat at the “ChefsTable” (bar) with a view of the kitchen. Absolutely experienced and exceptionally “quiet” cooking, confident, even if a pot boils over 😉 Unreserved recommendation!

Great ambience, outstanding service. The food was very tasty and prepared with attention to detail. A great concept with the corresponding effort of fine dining. Definitely a recommendation. Small drawback for the price level, because at around 150 euros p.p. (Large menu, aperitif, 2 glasses of wine, espresso) I would have liked a little more exclusivity in the products and design, but that shouldn't detract from the effort and the craftsmanship. A great location for a special evening.
