We visited this place with the whole family for the second time and are absolutely thrilled! From the moment we arrived, we immediately felt welcome – the team was incredibly friendly, attentive, and even had a sympathetic ear for our son. The food was fantastic: fresh, lovingly prepared, and simply delicious. You can immediately tell that great importance is placed on quality and regional ingredients. There was truly something for everyone here, and we felt completely at home. We would particularly like to highlight the excellent service – warm, attentive, and always with a smile. It was the perfect blend of professionalism and family-like hospitality. For us, one thing is certain: Käthe is a true highlight in Rostock, which we would recommend at any time. We would love to come back!

The food was creatively and delicately presented and a real feast for the eyes. The service and ambiance (with the exception of the restrooms, which were somewhat plain but smelled of lavender) were like being in a five-star restaurant, making for a wonderful evening for me and my family. At the same time, the ambiance was relaxed. The service was simply personable and humorous; I've rarely experienced such friendly service in a restaurant. There was something for everyone on the menu, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal at Käthe.

It was okay, except for the end... Last round was announced 1.5 hours before closing time. They charged a hefty tip. 15 minutes later, you were supposed to finish your drink and leave, even though the official closing time was only 50 minutes away. The way it was handled didn't contribute to a pleasant atmosphere at all. I come from a restaurant background myself – that's not how you treat customers!

We couldn't have spent a more pleasant summer evening last Saturday than at Restaurant Käthe. From "A for aperitif" to "Z for attentive service," everything was perfect. We were particularly impressed by the variety of appetizers and the diverse selection of drinks. We're already looking forward to returning soon and discovering more culinary creations.

Even though we arrived at the restaurant five minutes before closing time, we were still greeted and served very warmly. There was a great selection of food, and the dishes we ordered were super, super delicious. A great selection of music played in the background, and overall, we had a very pleasant evening here :) The servers were very friendly and accommodating. Furthermore, the women's restrooms were very well-equipped and very clean. (There's also a changing table if you're staying there with a baby.) We weren't from Rostock, but when we're back in town, we'll definitely be back here :)

Curious and full of anticipation, we entered the restaurant at exactly 1:59 p.m. We were asked to leave because it opened at 2 p.m. We waited another five minutes outside the restaurant. Upon re-entering the restaurant and asking if we could go in, we were told that "the door was open, after all." Too bad, it wasn't the right place for us, because eating isn't just about the eye, but also about politeness.

We came here for breakfast and I highly recommend it.

We had breakfast at "Käthe" with the whole family today and were more than thrilled. We received a warm welcome, and since it was our first time there, they explained the simple process to us. From sweet to savory, from hot to cold dishes, everything was there. We'd like to thank you for the wonderful start to the day, which was made even better by the great atmosphere and attentive staff. :)

Friendly welcome; prompt service; a reasonable wait time for the ordered food. My herring was delicious.

Today we had the pleasure of being able to reserve a table for two people in the Käthe restaurant. It was a completely successful evening. The waiter was absolutely attentive and courteous. All three courses of our menu were excellent. The drinks menu is also very extensive and includes many non-alcoholic drinks such as wines (white, rose, red), sparkling wine and various aperitifs. We will heartily recommend this restaurant!!!

“Friendly, welcoming, inclusive and extremely tasty.” - I think that's the best way to describe Käthe. You feel welcome, the service is friendly and the general vibe is just very pleasant. The food is also great. There were four of us and in addition to the main courses we had several starters and desserts, all of which were extremely tasty and had that certain something. We were therefore full and satisfied at the end. :) One small point of criticism: the preparation took a little longer. But apparently there was a breakdown in the kitchen, so it was actually a plus point that everything was still prepared to perfection and with an eye for detail. I rarely give 5 stars because it implies to me that I definitely want to visit the restaurant again. But that was exactly the case here - we made reservations for breakfast that evening because we were so impressed. Which, by the way, was very successful. Breakfast is traditional with everything you'd expect plus a few extras like waffles, chicken meatballs and exciting desserts. All in all, very tasty and certainly not the last time. Since the weather cooperated, windows and doors were open at the front, which created a very open and spring-like atmosphere. All in all, just a place where you feel comfortable. Bonus points for the very pettable house cat. :D

Every meeting at Käthe is a pleasure! Whether the conversations with the staff or the food offerings, both are great! A place to feel good, sit comfortably with friends or acquaintances or alone, I always feel like I'm in good hands and that the waiters give me great advice. A big compliment to the whole team! For me it has been the best café restaurant in Rostock since last year.

Yesterday I was a guest at a birthday party for the breakfast buffet. Full marks. What more can I say? Super delicious food... for everyone, regardless of orientation, great service and ambiance. I've rarely experienced anything like it. Even if there are few or no parking spaces. There's a parking garage nearby. It's a short walk. As I said, you won't be disappointed here. The guests' needs are taken seriously. The dishes and products presented are of high quality, and the appearance... superb. I ate more than I wanted to. 5 stars are not enough...I was here for the first time with my daughter, we are thrilled. The table reservation in advance was brilliantly uncomplicated. Delicious food, magically prepared, something for everyone.... cozy atmosphere with kittens♡....like at home....and not to forget the very, very attentive and nice service. It's a shame that we didn't have much time with us (we had to go to the theater). We will definitely come back!!! Many thanks to the entire team!

Breakfast buffet, price 27 euros per person including drinks. A small place and a lot of people, there were no free tables at all. You have to stand in line for food and jostle in the aisles. Overall the food was quite tasty.

I had dinner there with my friend on January 3, 2025. We both agreed about visiting Restaurant Käthe. It was just OUTRAGEOUS! - Outrageously good service (relaxed, friendly & fast service) - outrageously delicious food! - outrageously beautifully prepared food - outrageously fair price/performance ratio! Do we recommend eating there? Let's put it this way: If you don't go, it's your own fault! ;-) Thus “threatening” like Restaurant Käthe: You haven't seen the last of us there! ;-) We'll be back soon! The service was extremely friendly, the menu had great (many vegetarian and vegan) dishes and then the food was tasty too! What more could you want? The furnishings were also great, from comfortable chairs to beautiful wall decorations and even the cat with whom I was allowed to share the bench 😉 Oh yes, the drinks menu is also excellent, especially the wide selection of non-alcoholic drinks.

We enjoyed a great Christmas buffet at Käthe. There were cold plates with fish and cheese, Königsberger meatballs and duck with red cabbage and dumplings. To name just a few examples. The food was wonderful and was quickly refilled, so the service was first class and Käthe offered just the right ambience for an unforgettable Christmas dinner. We'll definitely be back! 👍🏻

Nice ambience. Very friendly staff. Super cute cat in the restaurant. We had duck leg and the starter plate for two. Both were reasonably priced, but given the quality they could even be described as cheap. Koch knows his craft. The only drawback we found were the drinks, both soft drinks had too little carbon dioxide in them.

I was there for the first time with friends for a Christmas party and would come again and again. Our waiter was super accommodating and personable, the atmosphere was nice, food and drinks came quickly and we all thought the food was delicious. Very nicely prepared, fresh, warm and harmonious. The menu offers something for every taste, from meat, fish, vegetarian to vegan and yet is not overcrowded. I'm already looking forward to the next visit :-) Many thanks from us for the lovely evening!

This is a little gem you have to make yourself visit. The most wonderful food and really good service. Also, the prices are very reasonable.

The food was something different but good. Unfortunately only lukewarm. What we didn't like at all was the house cat that made itself comfortable on our coat rack next to us. She was lured away at our request. However, as an allergy sufferer, I felt very uncomfortable. Although there was no allergic reaction (tears, itchy eyes and shortness of breath), it could have happened. So it's an unpleasant feeling. Too bad. Eckhard Müller

The dishes are always something to behold! The wine selection should also be positively mentioned, there is always something there! The service at Käthe is friendly, competent and charming. Fast and courteous even when the house is full. The fact that the fluffy namesake comes over regularly for a cuddle rounds up the 5 stars! 😻 Until next time!

As soon as you entered the restaurant, the ambience conveyed an unmistakable coziness that warmly welcomed the guest. The library and the winter garden round off this with a modern, casual and very homely impression, so that you feel extremely comfortable throughout the restaurant. The service is extremely attentive, friendly and leaves nothing to be desired. Now to the actual highlight, the food. There are many creative and high-quality dishes on offer, some of which are complemented by seasonal products. The use of special combinations of ingredients and flavors stands out and completes the visit with a short culinary excursion into modern, hearty cuisine. Another commendable aspect is the abundance of vegetarian and vegan options for starters, main courses and desserts. The food is of the highest quality in terms of craftsmanship and taste and is truly an experience compared to restaurants in the same price range. In all aspects, Restaurant Käthe is a clear recommendation for special occasions or a cozy evening with family or friends and wonderful food.

We were here as part of a birthday group and wanted to have a relaxing evening before we continued. The service was great. Friendly, on the ball and with a saying on his lips. Was fun. The food was delicious and there was nothing wrong with the cocktails/drinks either. It was a bit of a shame that we had to leave the Käthe earlier that evening because (information from the employee) they closed earlier due to fewer guests Overall, however, worth a visit.

Wir waren in lockerer Runde zum Abendessen hier. Reservierung und Erinnerung an die Reservierung fand ich unkompliziert und hilfreich. Das Essen empfanden wir alle als ausgezeichnet, schon von der Optik her auf schönem Geschirr ein Genuss, war es geschmacklich wunderbar. Die Vegetarier unter uns waren froh, dass es für sie nicht nur irgendein Curry gab, sondern eine gute Auswahl. Die Portionen sind genau richtig von der Größe her, so dass man nicht gleich entmutigt ist, wenn der Teller kommt. Herausragend waren auch die Desserts, auch wieder optisch und geschmacklich. Das Personal ist kompetent, sehr freundlich, aber nicht aufgesetzt. Der Abend war für uns ein richtig toller Abschluss eines anstrengenden Tages und wir bedanken uns herzlich beim Team. Wir kommen gerne wieder und empfehlen das Restaurant weiter, obwohl wir es lieber als Geheimtipp für uns behalten würden ;).

Very good breakfast buffet in a cozy atmosphere and friendly service We were there for the first time today for the Saturday breakfast buffet. We had reserved a table in the library, which I would recommend. The service was very friendly and warm and our jackets as fans of the Rostock Griffins meant we started talking (Restaurant Käthe is a sponsor). We felt very comfortable and will definitely come back again.

The restaurant and winter garden are lovingly furnished. The food we consumed was tasty and prepared to a high standard. There are specialties here that you can't get in every restaurant. The staff was courteous and very friendly. We had a lovely evening and will definitely be back. Thank you very much, keep it up.
