Restaurant Kassner is a nice place to enjoy a delicious meal. They serve simple German dishes that taste good. The service is friendly and creates a pleasant atmosphere. Compared to the restaurant at the Schlosshotel, we would rather recommend Kassner, especially because it is not expensive and there is a lot of choice on the menu. The restaurant is cozy and even the small portions were more than enough for us. The plates are beautifully laid out, which makes the food that little bit more special. One small downside was that if you just wanted to drink something, you were not allowed to sit on the deck, but on the walkway. This seemed a bit unfriendly, but perhaps we didn't understand it completely. Nevertheless, Restaurant Kassner is recommended for those looking for good food in a nice environment.

Dinner after 25km pilgrimage. We got a table in the pretty beer garden and ordered everything together. From the daily menu: schnitzel with chanterelles, schnitzel with mushrooms and a starter of spicy meat. After the greetings from the kitchen, it came quickly, delicious, tasted like it did in GDR times - very tasty! Main courses are also really great, everything is fresh and huge portions (you can also order everything as a small portion, but who does that?) Everything was tip-top, fast, friendly service, nice atmosphere and very good food! Price-performance justified for today's times. Clear recommendation!

Even if the owner doesn't want to hear it anymore, very tasty schnitzel. The entire meal was appetizingly prepared. Portion size sufficient and above all a pleasure for the palate. If I ever find myself here again, I'll be happy to come back.

We recently dined at this restaurant. We chose this restaurant because of the consistently positive reviews. The website made a decent impression. We decided to visit. The staff was very friendly and competent. The drinks were delivered promptly after ordering. The food order followed. The food was brought after a reasonable time. I would describe the dishes as down-to-earth home cooking, decent portions, unfortunately a suboptimal choice of side dishes and too high a fat content. It still tasted good and you could see the handwork both visually and in taste. The ambience was as you would expect from a home-style restaurant. The outdoor seating is particularly noteworthy, as you can sit comfortably there with or without your four-legged friend.

Rarely have I met such friendly hosts! Eating “like mommy’s” in the most positive sense. The ambience was modern, but we still felt pleasantly reminded of eating together with the family at home. We'll definitely come by again!

Wir waren diese Woche 2 mal hier zum Essen (abends). Es war beide male sehr lecker und die Bedienung war sehr nett. Die Inneneinrichtung ist gehoben, auf den Toiletten gibt es einen ausreichenden Vorrat an kleinen Frottee-Handtüchern statt Papier. Vor dem Essen wurde Einzeller mit Brot und Kräuterbutter serviert. Alles in Allem sehr zu empfehlen.

Very good food in a good restaurant

We were passing through and were looking for a place to have lunch. We immediately noticed the Kassner restaurant with its cozy beer garden. There are also parking spaces nearby. Food was super tasty. The boss is a friendly man and it's easy to chat with him outside of the box. Guest rooms designed with love. Good prices. We'll definitely be back.

Very nice service, even short-term reservations possible. Delicious food and highly recommended is the Hefeweizen on tap. Very cozy inside, but you also have the option of sitting outside under umbrellas. Highly Recommended.

Modern and comfortably furnished restaurant with friendly service. We chose broth with egg custard and tomato soup as a starter and various schnitzels as a main course. Everything fresh and delicious. We always ordered the normal schnitzel, so you get two pieces. Ate very well. The price is quite high, but since everything fits together it's ok.

We recommend! The restaurant has a very nice, attractive interior (a lot of effort was put into the renovation) as well as the possibility of outdoor seating. When we asked over the phone, we were able to get lunch at very short notice. The service was very, very friendly, there was even a greeting from the kitchen. The food for our child was delivered extra quickly (very good when he was very hungry! :-)) on a cute Mickey Mouse plate. The separate children's menu was also cute. The food for the adults also came very quickly, the portions were generous and the food was fresh and delicious! It was also served on very nice, modern crockery. Absolutely reasonable price, not overpriced! Conclusion: We would love to come back. :-)

Top restaurant. Worth a recommendation.

At Pentecost we tried to go out to dinner unannounced for six of us. The restaurant was actually very busy. But with a lot of creativity the landlady managed to “put together” a 6-seater table for us. Thank you very much again at this point. Food is not cheap - not in both directions - but not very expensive either, but fits into the now very expensive times. Freshly made schnitzel - you can hear the meat tenderizer in the kitchen after ordering - and everything was very tasty and great German home cooking. Service is quick and friendly, there is nothing to complain about at all. Even if we probably won't come back straight away (we live 400km away) we will remember this address and can only warmly recommend the inn.

Our savior in an emergency, very friendly and delicious schnitzel. Despite the stress of Men's Day, everything was great, especially since we had already given up hope in the afternoon. Gladly again 😉👍

Unfortunately I can't rate the food and ambience, but unfortunately the landlord didn't understand customer service. You seem to have internalized over many years how you can make a potential guest so stupid over the phone and again in person. It's a shame, but with this behavior you are scaring away potential new customers. We would have liked to dine with you, but unfortunately not like that. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this restaurant under any circumstances.

If you want to eat really great food, you just have to come here. Please call ahead and ask for a place. The restaurant is very popular, which is no surprise. The landlord is super nice and funny. It wasn't our first time eating here. And we weren't disappointed this time either. The service is super nice and very attentive. The food is really great. The menu is extensive, from brawn to game, fish pasta, a good selection is offered. There were 13 of us and everyone had their choice of food freshly prepared. The waiting time was reasonable and the price-performance ratio was right. So if the opportunity arises for us, we would be happy to come back here.

Very nice run restaurant. The furnishings are contemporary and attractive. The service was friendly & warm. You felt welcome. A greeting from the kitchen was served to us as we started 🙂 The food and drinks were sufficient and varied. At the moment (January 2024) there are dishes with kale 👍 Price performance absolutely top. We were satisfied with the taste and we recommend it. Card payment possible and parking spaces available nearby.

Hier wird Essen noch mit Liebe zubereitet. Die Schnitzel sind in der Küche selbst paniert und nicht industriell hergestellt. Die Beilagen sehr gut abgestimmt und auch frisch bereitet. Das Restaurant Kassner ist eine echte Empfehlung.

Ich war am Wochenende mit Freunden dort essen, weil ich das Restaurant auf Google Maps gefunden hab ich es gute Bewertungen hatte. Diese Bewertungen hat es völlig zurecht. Das Personal war super herzlichen und sehr zuvorkommend. Es war sehr ordentlich und gemütlich eingerichtet. Als Vorspeise hatten wir eine Kraftbrühe und Tomatensuppe und die haben super frisch und einfach lecker geschmeckt. Auf Essen und Trinken mussten wir überhaupt nicht lange warten, ein paar Minuten nach der Bestellung hörten wir schön wie unser Schnitzel in der Küche geklopft wurde. Das Schnitzel war super zart und die Pilzrahmsoße sehr lecker. Kroketten und Bratkartoffeln sind auch nur zu empfehlen. Alles in allem eine sehr zu empfehlende Gaststätte!

Top Gastronomie leckeres Essen gerne wieder

Ich versuchte vor kurzem einen Tisch zu reservieren, dass es kaum Restaurants gibt, die an Heiligabend geöffnet haben, ist mir klar. Eine Absage nehme ich auch gerne hin, nur war der Herr am Telefon so unhöflich, dass ich in Zukunft von jeglichen Besuch dieses Restaurants absehen werde. Ein einfaches "Nein" wäre völlig ausreichend gewesen.

Wir waren heute im Harz unterwegs und hatten in der Mittagsstunde Hunger bekommen. In Ballenstedt entdeckten wir dieses wunderbare Lokal. Das Essen ist top, die Wirtin sehr lieb und nett und die Räumlichkeiten sind sauber und gemütlich eingerichtet. Achja, die Speicherkarte ist der Hammer. Riesen Auswahl deutscher Küche.

Das Essen und der Service waren wie immer perfekt . Macht weiter so 👍🏻

Wir waren am Wochende dort. Haben mit 9 Mann dort gegessen. Super lecker. Nette Inhaber. Würden auf jedenfall wieder kommen. ( Leider etwas zu weit weg).

Wer auf geile Hausmannskost steht ist hier an der Richtigen Adresse. Ich durfte hier das Chef Steak essen und das war das Beste Steak was ich bis jetzt essen durfte. Macht einfach weiter so. Bis zum nächsten mal.

Wir haben uns hier sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Esser war super lecker.

Durch die Harzer Wandernadel waren wir mal wieder in Ballenstedt und so führte uns der kulinarische Weg ins Restaurant Kassner. Ein paar Tage zuvor einen Tisch telefonisch reserviert für 19:30 Uhr. Da wir zeitlich etwas in Verzug geworden ist wurde es 20:00 Uhr. Zuvor nochmals angerufen und Bescheid gegeben. Die Dame am Telefon äußerst freundlich und verständnisvoll. Später stellte auch heraus, dass es wohl die Tochter des Familienbetriebs war. Als wir um 20:00 Uhr angekommen sind waren noch zwei größere Gesellschaften im Lokal. Daher war der Geräuschpegel relativ hoch. Die Bedienung war flott am Tisch und nahm unsere Getränkewünsche auf. Im späteren Verlauf haben wir noch zwei Cocktails probiert. Kukki und nein es hat nichts mit der Erbsensuppe im Harz zu tun. Sehr lecker war er, schade dass die Aussteller und Preisauszeichnung waren. Mit 7,50 € für 0,33 recht teuer. Ich habe aber gesehen, dass sie auch im Einkauf nicht billig sind. Dennoch der Preis sollte dabei stehen. Für uns gab es Schnitzel am heutigen Abend. Kleines Schnitzel mit Zwiebelschmand und Pommes und etwas Salatbeilage. Ich selbst hab das Schnitzel Melba genommen. Dies ist mit Pfirsichen belegt und Käse überbacken. Fleischqualität war gut. Portionsgröße ordentlich aber mit 19 € auch nicht billig. Nachtisch hat heute nicht mehr reingepasst. Bedienung sehr freundlich junge Dame, Essen gut bis sehr gut, durch die Lautstärke manchmal etwas nervig. Der Nachbartisch mit den Damen, aber nun gut hatten auch Cocktails ;-). Dennoch auf jeden Fall zu empfehlen. Kartenzahlung war möglich mit EC Karte. 3 Schnitzel mit Beilagen und Getränke lagen wir genau bei 82€.

Wir sind durch Zufall auf das Restaurant gestoßen weil wir wandern waren bei Ballenstedt. Sehr zu empfehlen, das Essen sehr lecker und Preis-Leistung finde ich sehr gut.

Essen lecker, frisch zubereitet und reichlich (was dann auch die gehobene Preisklasse erklärt). Einziges Manko: die TV-Fussball-Beschallung. Dadurch eher das Flair einer Dorfkneipe.

Gemütliche schöne Eckkneipe( Restaurant) Findet man nicht mehr oft. Sehr empfehlenswert und immer wieder eine Reise wert.

Nach einer längeren Wanderung sind wir erst sehr spät, gegen 14.30 Uhr, im Gasthof angekommen, konnten aber dennoch etwas bestellen. Die sehr freundliche Bedienung verwöhnte uns mit einem Gruß aus der Küche und im Anschluss mit zwei sehr leckeren Jägerschnitzeln. Die Portionen waren sehr gut und schön angerichtet. Vielen Dank für den tollen Service.

Ein schönes laues Sommerplätzchen im Außenbereich, gute wohlschmeckende Essen von sehr freundlichen und engagierten Personal bedient.

Tolle vielfältige deutsche Küche! Dieses Restaurant ist sehr zu empfehlen, denn die Speisen waren lecker und groß. Das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis für das Essen ist hervorragend. Und wir haben es genossen, dort Gast sein zu können, denn auch das Personal war aufmerksam und freundlich.

Bedienung (Chefin) sehr unfreundlich, wir wollten im außen Bereich sitzen und wo wir hin kammen war ein Tisch frei und setzten uns hin wie es mal so ist wenn kein Schild mit reserviert steht. Dann kam die Chefin mit sehr unfreundlichen Ton ob wir überhaupt gefragt hätten und das es nicht so geht. Haben dann doch sitzen bleiben können aber wir hätten lieber aufstehen sollen nach der Aktion. Getränke bestellt und kammen ziemlich schnell aber auf das Essen haben wir gut eine Stunde gewartet. Essen war nicht schlecht aber als wir bezahlen wollten mussten wir rein gehen zum bezahlen, kein Problem für uns aber wo wir drin waren kammen 3 neue Gäste die sich im außen Bereich niedergelassen haben und die Chefin meinte zum Chef das es so nicht geht und wollte Wut entbrannt die Gäste den Platz verweisen. Wir fragen uns echt was mit deinen nicht stimmt. Brauchen scheinbar keine Gäste.

Empfehlung war was Speisen und netter Service der Chefin angeht sehr in Ordnung. Der vermeintliche fette und fläzige Chef hinter der Theke passt auf keinen Fall dorthin. Er ist einseitig auf eine Bundesliga-Mannschaft ausgerichtet und alle die nicht seiner Meinung sind pöbelt er beleidigend voll. Bei mir ging er soweit dass er mir wissen ließ, 'ich hätte keine Ahnung....sei ein A-loch und solle mich auf den Platz setzen oder den Laden verlassen '----u.noch einiges mehr. Ich und meine 2 Freunde waren den ganzen Abend dort und haben eine sehr gute Zeche (ca.150,00€ incl.TG) getätigt. Wegen diesem unqualifizierten und äußerst unfreundlichen 'Wirtes' kann man dieses Lokal auf keinen Fall weiterempfehlen. Schade um seine Frau, die eine sehr gute und freundliche Bedienung geleistet hat.

Leckeres deutsches Essen. Nur zu empfehlen, egal ob als Familie oder als Paar. Viel Auswahl bei den Gerichten ist außerdem dabei.
