I've always been thrilled with this restaurant, whether with family or colleagues. Today, both the food and service were outstanding! The price-performance ratio is perfectly reasonable. You'll definitely leave satisfied, and the meat is of excellent quality. And the owner's sense of humor is simply warm and welcoming. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone!

Our family has been eating at Restaurant International for over 30 years, and I have only fond memories of this place! We always feel welcome and experience a level of service that is sadly rare these days. When we recently brought our little dachshund along, he was also greeted very warmly, and we were shown to a quiet table. That was very thoughtful! We look forward to eating there again soon!

A cozy restaurant with a large selection of dishes. Something for everyone. The decor isn't super modern, but it's still comfortable. The food is more than good for the price. Portions and taste are absolutely top-notch. Very friendly staff. I highly recommend it.

We were there yesterday and were more than disappointed. It wasn't our first time there (we've always been satisfied), but yesterday was abysmal, simply bad. The mixed grill was a joke; everything was done without care, the staff seemed unenthusiastic, the service was poor, and the food was catastrophically bad. The table behind us rightly complained that they found the food inedible. It's a real shame; we won't be going there again.

Five years ago we weren't so satisfied, but today the meat was so tender and delicious, the staff very friendly and attentive, even the pilsner with a shot of cola was great! 👍 Mayo and ketchup were all included in the price, so we didn't have to pay extra for everything! 🤩👍🤣

Update 12/2025: We haven't been here for the last two years. You can see my review below. Back then, I gave it two stars, and even that was reluctantly. Today we visited again, and it was a fantastic evening. The bowling alley has been renovated, the reservation process was seamless, the service was excellent, and the food was delicious and arrived very quickly. We reserved the bowling alley to meet up with friends. Two years ago, that didn't work out so well. Today, everything was perfect. We received our delicious food quickly, and the drinks arrived promptly as well. The waiter joked around with us, and we had a truly wonderful evening. I even had a brief chat with the senior and junior owners at the end. They also mentioned that they are now even better organized. I'm really happy that it's possible to enjoy a truly excellent meal here again. A definite recommendation. Thank you. 2023: We've been eating here for 30 years, now in our fourth generation. We've ALWAYS been satisfied. Unfortunately, we've been disappointed twice in the last two weeks. Just before Christmas, the drinks service was poor, and the bowling alley was double-booked, so our Christmas party wasn't what we'd hoped for. We only got to bowl for two hours instead of five. Today, we had a table for six at 5:30 pm. Food arrived at 7:30 pm! And then one dish wasn't cooked through. Unfortunately, they said this happens two or three times a year. It's a shame, because how you treat someone is the most important thing in a situation like this. We'll see when we try again.

We had a delicious pepper schnitzel, the portion was generous. Delicious bread to start with, with herb butter and olives. And it was less than €50 for the two of us. (Excluding tip) Highly recommended 👍👍👍

The four of us had a wonderful meal here! The menu offers a wide selection and generous portions. The goulash soup as a starter is highly recommended, as are the various types of schnitzel and the satarasch as main courses. The accompanying salad was also fresh and flavorful. The staff was very friendly, and we received excellent service all evening. The icing on the cake was a delicious glass of Juliska afterward.

We had schnitzel this afternoon and got tomato soup on the house as a starter. It was delicious and reasonably priced. We went last year for the Christmas market. If we're ever in Oberhausen again, we'll definitely eat there again. Excellent service.

We're from Mönchengladbach, and every time we're in Oberhausen or the surrounding area, we stop at Restaurant International for a meal – and it's always worth it! The food is consistently delicious, and the service is friendly, attentive, and warm. What's especially nice is the genuine family atmosphere. Father and son run the restaurant together with their team and make sure you feel welcome right away. For us, it's always a wonderful visit – highly recommended!

We've often come here for lunch. The food is always decent. Nothing outstanding, and the portions are rather small. The portions are naturally larger with the regular menu items, but the value for money isn't always there. However, since the quality has remained consistent for years, and if you're not looking for anything special and a good standard is sufficient, then this is a good place to go. We definitely recommend it.

We've been regular customers for a long time and have always enjoyed visiting this restaurant. Unfortunately, we've recently noticed that the portions have become significantly smaller while the prices have increased dramatically. This ratio no longer works for us. It's a real shame, as we've always been satisfied, but we're now seriously considering not visiting this restaurant in the future.

It was simply amazing. Value for money – I haven’t experienced something this great in a long time. The prices are about average, but that doesn’t make the portions any smaller. Quite the opposite. It fills you up! The taste is simply impeccable. I had a shepherd’s steak, the size of which would make many others two portions. And the seasoning was perfectly balanced. The Djuvec rice wasn’t dry, but it didn’t just taste of tomato either. A very good balance. The fries were fresh, well-seasoned; all in all, a dream! It’s completely understandable that the place was so busy, and you should really make a reservation in advance! But rightly so. Every member of staff on site was very friendly and polite. It was my first time there, but certainly not the last. Everything was just perfect. Thank you for such a delicious evening!

We visited the International for the second time today and were once again impressed. The service was friendly and attentive. The food was excellent; we had the baked cheese as a starter and the liver and onion schnitzel for the main course; we enjoyed it all. The chef was always in touch with us and the other guests. Excellent food. I was surprised that the restaurant was so busy in the afternoon. After I got my meal, it became clear why. First-class food, staff who treat guests like good friends, and a cozy, soothing atmosphere. On the second day of my visit to Duisburg, I went back. The same result. The staff even remembered what I wanted to drink the day before. Guys: my respect!

We've been there several times. We had a Tyrolean steak and a fillet steak in pepper sauce. Both were very good, and the English-grilled fillet steak was cooked to perfection and excellent. The pepper sauce is divine. However, I could have done better with the dressing on the side salad. We will be back and can recommend the restaurant.

I've been there before and remembered it fondly, but a lot has changed since then. Bright, friendly, and very clean, this restaurant invites you to linger and enjoy yourself. Service was excellent, and the food and drinks were fresh and delicious. And the price/performance ratio is 100 percent right. The only thing isn't very nice, but when the restaurant opened there in 1970, it was still nice and clean, and Oberhausen was a thriving city. We'll definitely be back at the International. Keep up the good work!

We spontaneously reserved a table for four people, and everything was already set upon arrival. The food was delicious and plentiful. The service was also very attentive, and the entire staff was very friendly and welcoming.

I've been eating there regularly for some time now. Sometimes with six people. This place is definitely my first choice when it comes to dining out. The wedding platter is my priority. The taste is truly top-notch, the quantity is more than adequate, and the service and staff are ALWAYS friendly!

The food was truly delicious, freshly prepared, and arrived promptly. Everyone was satisfied, and that's saying something with so many people. You can just tell that the people here are passionate about what they do and enjoy it. You don't experience such a relaxed, hospitable atmosphere every day. A culinary mini-break in the Balkans – simply WOW! The four of us were at the International Restaurant today – and what can I say? It was a true feast for the senses! From the very first moment, we felt welcome and cared for. The Croatian warmth of the staff is exactly what you imagine true Balkan hospitality to be: warm, attentive, and with a genuine smile. The culinary experience was a hit: from wonderfully crispy schnitzels to aromatic Balkan specialties – every dish was lovingly prepared and absolutely delicious. The crowning glory was the fantastic dessert platter, which was not only a visual highlight but also delighted each of us with its taste. Hospitality is lived here, and enjoyment is a top priority. If you want to experience authentic Balkan cuisine in a welcoming atmosphere, this is the place for you. We'll definitely be back – with big appetites and even more friends!

We went there for the first time today. The food was fantastic! We had a steak platter for two with eight steaks, fried potatoes, and mushrooms. Each of us had an appetizer. We also got some house tomato soup. A salad with homemade dressing was served with our meal. And to finish, a Julischka (a kind of pudding). It was excellent! Next time we'll skip the appetizer. I didn't manage to finish my share. We paid €105 for everything, including two drinks each (without tip). The waiters were super friendly and accommodating. We'll definitely be back.

Amazing goulash soup. Schnitzel was perfect. Had a perfect Croatian white wine. Friendly service. Hidden gem in Oberhausen. Only critique was the broccoli was a tiny bit over done. Everything else spot on. About to enjoy a spot of Frenet Branca for dessert.
