We've been eating here for years. The food is always delicious, and I especially recommend the fish soup! The service is solid. But the prices have gotten a bit expensive these days.

The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. We were there on a Sunday and were immediately seated for five people. The waiter, Sven, was very friendly and pleasant. He also gave us menu recommendations, and we felt very comfortable. The fried fish and the pike-perch fillet were extremely delicious. Definitely recommend it, we'll be back! 💁‍♀️🐟

Overpriced. I used to be almost a regular. The quality of the fish and the taste are nothing special. The interior hasn't been renovated in ages. The location on the Rhine is nice, though. The service is okay. I used to be almost a regular, but not anymore.

They have been regular guests for 20 years and are below the average age ;-) Hopefully the restaurant will survive all the bridge building measures. The food was always top, especially the fish soup and the potato salad with the many great fish.

A lovely restaurant that has a great location near the Rhine on an island. It invites you to take a trip. The food is tasty but a bit stale. Lots of fat and familiar dishes. But absolutely deliciously prepared. However, it is difficult for vegetarians. The restaurant is usually very busy. Unfortunately, they don't take reservations here, so every visit involves some risk. We still like to come here, but if it gets too crowded you can still go to the pizzeria at the front of the ferry. Update: I saw on the website that you can now reserve seats. Top! One more reason to go again.

Was dumped in the next room. No heat at all in the rooms. Nothing renovated for 30 years... Food was OK. But not so much that we have to come again.

We've been coming to the Insel Rott restaurant for decades. Today we had zander (piece or fillet) Müllerin again with onions, garlic and sage. Accompanied by a small mixed salad, it tasted very good as always. Priced like other restaurants in the area, but in my opinion the taste here is a bit better. I definitely recommend it for fish dishes.

The food was excellent, the fish was super fresh and perfectly prepared. The mixed salad was super tasty with a great sauce. This restaurant is a must for people who love pleasure!!! The white wine was also good, but the one from the Palatinate was a bit better😉maybe you'll consider adding one from the Palatinate to the list. Either way everything was really, really good and of high quality. And the place where the restaurant is located is incredibly beautiful. Thank you for this enjoyable moment🦋🌻🌈

We used to go there regularly for the little fried fish. But unfortunately, they no longer have them. We called every week. They no longer serve them. What a shame.

We ate there yesterday and had the large fried fish, zander fillet with onions and garlic, and two mixed salads. Everything was fresh and delicious. Mr. Erdogan, as always, greeted and served us very warmly. We'll be back.

Great on the outside, a flop on the inside. The food was poorly served, tasted okay, and the service was almost arrogant and rude. Unfortunately, the dining room also looks like it was built in the 1950s... There's better value for money.

You should definitely try the fish soup. Fish with sauce and fish with almonds are very successful, a taste you cannot find anywhere else. It is also very good that it is clean and noiseless.

My favorite fish restaurant for over 50 years.

This is our go to fish restaurant when we visit our friends near Bruchsal. They only serve fish that is the freshest variety in season. Their German potato salad (Kartofelsalat) is the best I have tasted. It is so far above American potato salad that you can't even compare them. When we went this last time, they had fresh Pike which I am told is only available certain times of the year. But we have always enjoyed their standard Rhein fish. They also serve tasty German bier to wash the meal down. This place is a special landmark. Well worth the trip to the island.

Nice fish restaurant and great to combine with a nice walk along the Rhine. Cozy interior, friendly but somewhat slow service, quick and tasty food (we had the fish platter) and normal prices. But there's one point that doesn't work at all: charging €3 for a mini bowl of melted butter! The operator should think about it again By the way: you can pay by card, but only with normal EC cards, tips can only be paid in cash

Very nice place on the Rhine. Great destination by bike and really great totally car-free. A short walk to the restaurant before eating makes you really hungry and thirsty. As always, delicious fish dishes and very friendly staff.

Had to wait a bit because we didn't have a reservation. Be sure to reserve in advance. The service is very friendly. The food took a while, but it was absolutely fine when it was busy. The menu offers a large selection of different types of fish with different side dishes. The quality of the fish is very good and the breading is crispy. The price is a little higher, but the quality is absolutely okay.

NOT RECOMMENDED, PURE MASS PRODUCTION!!! .. Not recommended on the weekend, as it is extremely crowded and there are very, very long queues for free tables. As far as I know, reservations are not made....

Ich habe vor drei Tagen über die Internetseite des Restaurants INSEL ROTT eine Reservierungsanfrage für Sonntagmittag gestellt, aber bis heute keine Antwort erhalten. In einer Zeit, in der digitale Kommunikation zum Standard gehört, hätte ich mir zumindest eine kurze Rückmeldung gewünscht. Leider vermittelt dieser Ablauf den Eindruck eines mangelhaften Service. Wenn eine Online-Reservierung angeboten wird, sollte diese auch verlässlich funktionieren. Andernfalls wäre es besser, auf diesen Service zu verzichten, um falsche Erwartungen bei den Gästen zu vermeiden. Es ist schade, dass der Service schon bei der Reservierung nicht überzeugt. Glücklicherweise gibt es andere Lokale, die wesentlich schneller und kundenfreundlicher reagieren. Ich hoffe, dass sich der Service hier zukünftig verbessert, denn der erste Eindruck zählt.

Not much has changed in 45 years since my last visit. Fish variations were ok, but not top cuisine.

Nice, relaxed place, it's a bit too dark inside for me. Unfortunately, the lounge seats are also pretty broken and worn out. The terrace was full as it was very busy at that time. If you spruce up the outdoor area a bit, it would be worth 1 star more to me.

Unfortunately, we did not go to the middle. Because they drove by while walking and did not expect that there is a restaurant here. We will definitely come next time.

The restaurant's ambience is not for everyone. It looks like it did in the 1980s when I ate there with my parents. But it's not bad either. I like, really like the fish there. I have to say, however, that I have found the prices to be quite high in recent years. In the meantime, a price-performance ratio has been achieved that I no longer find acceptable.

Nice excursion restaurant that offers different types of fish in different ways of preparation. Funny was Herbert the rooster and how the friendly staff interacted with him.

I've never experienced anything like that in my life, the older man with the glasses is so unfriendly as long as he works there the store will lose a lot of customers like in the other reviews I'm not the only one who complains about this person, we had ordered a potato salad but with bacon kahm I hadn't mentioned that I wanted with bacon we wanted without when it kahm I said we would like without bacon he replied as unfriendly and cheeky as if I had said with bacon I said a potato salad quite normally and not potato salad with it I've never experienced bacon like that before. The blonde waitress tried to get Dan one without it, which was very nice, but he looked at him the whole time so that he didn't have a meal when we said we'd like to pay. That's another thing anyway

Service is an absolute disgrace! I always enjoyed coming here and the food was always great, but unfortunately the service managed to drive us away from this restaurant once and for all! A slim older gentleman with glasses served us today, there were three of us and he forgot my food, which isn't that bad, everyone is human and makes mistakes sometimes... but his style... absolutely disrespectful and cheeky!! When my two companions had already finished their meal and I was still waiting in vain for mine, I told the waiter that he could cancel it because everyone was already finished... then he came to the table with my food, showed it to me and said “OH YOU DON’T WANT TO FORGET IT” and took it away from me in front of my eyes. I was speechless!! Even the blonde waitress who saw it was shocked and apologized to us about his behavior and had no words! I just wanted to leave, I haven't experienced such humiliation in a long time! Afterwards he just laughed in my face... I'm speechless.. horrified and shocked that someone like that still works there because apparently it wasn't the first time with him like that, the other waiters were loudly boasting...

A place we always prefer and eat at. We were very happy with Mr. Erdoğan, as always he is a very humble person.

It's a shame when the waiter tells you to leave at 3:40 p.m. if we don't want anything to eat and just want coffee. But then he takes pity and says as long as no other guests come and he needs the space we can drink our coffee. We were there with 4 people...

Eat: Anyone who likes fish is in good hands here. Pork schnitzel is on the menu. There are too few vegetarian alternatives. Ambiance: In summer you can sit outside in the shade. Only in this restaurant on Rott Island does the fish dishes taste so good, so delicious, like no other. And the famous mixed salad is a legend and one of the favorite salads. From what I have observed, almost everyone orders this salad. He is recommended!

Rarely eaten such well-prepared fish in Germany. The fish was very fresh. I was also impressed with the service. The restaurant is a good destination for a bike ride.

Wir sind (waren) seit vielen Jahren Gäste hier und fahren eine weite Strecke (+40 km). Leider sind nicht nur die Preise mittlerweile exorbitant gestiegen. Hinzu kommt, dass die Portionen immer kleiner wurden. Wenn früher die Qualität fast bei jedem Besuch stimmte, mussten wir bei den letzten 4! Besuchen feststellen, dass nun auch die Qualität massiv leidet. Das Zanderfilet, früher geschmacklich top und in der Struktur fein blättrig und wohlschmeckend, nun nur noch ein Schatten seiner selbst. Kein ganzes Filet, sondern nur noch mehrere unscheinbare Stückchen, die viel zu dünn und viel zu viel Paniermehl benhalten. Geruch und Geschmack jenseits der Zeiten, wo man noch toll essen konnte. Wir hofften, dass es sich um eine einmalige, großzügig auch mit zwei Augen zugedrückt, um eine zweimalige Ausnahme handeln würde, aber dieser Qualitätsverlust bei wahnsinnigen Preisen ist nun leider der Standard auf der Insel Rott. Es ist wirklich schade und sehr traurig, aber wir werden hier nie wieder etwas zu uns nehmen, solange sich hier nichts verbessert. Dass wir nicht die einzigen sind, die diese schlimmen Erfahrungen machen mussten, kann man ebenfalls an den doch mittlerweile vielen schlechten Bewertungen erkennen, gerade auch von Gästen, die, wie wir, dieses Restaurant seit vielen Jahren besucht haben und treue Gäste waren. Zu guter letzt entscheidet der Gast, wie gut es dem Restaurant geht und ob es überlebt. Die Zeiten, wo die Gäste draußen Schlange standen sind jedenfalls schon lange vorbei.

Nach den vorherigen Bewertungen war ich etwas abgeschreckt aber wir wollten uns dann doch ein eigenes Bild machen. Die Einrichtung ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen... aber das hat nicht wirklich gestört. Die Servicekräfte empfand ich nicht als unfreundlich... eher etwas wortkarg und ernst. Wir hatten Zanderfilet mit Salat. Der Salat war eine angemessene Portion und auch schmackhaft. Das Zanderfilet eher etwas trocken. Für die Größe und Qualität fand ich es etwas zu teuer.

The food is simply great, the price/performance ratio is very good, the waiter is a bit very biased and doesn't get anything done, a great restaurant, but dogs are not very welcome, if my animals are not welcome, I'm in the wrong place, no recommendation to my friends.

Nachdem ich aus früheren Jahren sehr positive Erinnerungen an das Lokal hatte, habe ich Freunden empfohlen gemeinsam dort zu speisen. Ich versuchte mich telefonisch mit 7 Personen und einem Hund anzumelden. Freundlich, aber sehr bestimmend wurde mir gesagt, dass wir ab 12 Uhr jederzeit kommen können, Reservierungen werden keine vorgenommen und der Hund ist an der Leine zu führen und muss auf dem Fußboden bleiben. Wir freuten uns zunächst, dass der Hund überhaupt mitkommen darf. Wir kamen am Samstag, 06.04.24 aus Heidelberg mit 2 Autos gegen 14:30 Uhr an. Das Lokal war etwa zur Hälfte mit Gästen belegt. Wir wurden an einen runden großen Tisch gebeten. Es waren eine Kellnerin und ein Kellner, sowie eine Bedienung hinter der Theke zugegen. Wir fragten zunächst ob wir etwas Wasser für den Hund haben könnten. Hierauf entstand mit dem Kellner folgender Dialog: "Wir bedienen keine Hunde" - "Wir wollten nur wissen, ob der Hund Wasser haben kann" - "Draußen steht ein Napf!" - "da ist aber kein Wasser drin" - "dann werden wir welches reinmachen". Da nach einiger Zeit der Napf noch immer leer war, füllten wir diesen in der Toilette auf. Beim Heraustragen gab es einige Wasserspritzer auf den Boden. Es entstand folgender Dialog mit der Bedienung hinter der Theke: "Hätten Sie bitte etwas zum Aufwischen der Wasserspritzer auf dem Boden" - "Wir dulden keinen Transport von Wasserbehältern durch das Lokal". Die Bestellung von Getränken und Speisen erfolgte durch den Kellner recht barsch und ungeduldig: "Wollen Sie gebraten, paniert, mit oder ohne Sauce". Serviert wurde die Bestellung von Fischsuppe, Zanderfilet, Fischteller, gemischten Salattellern und dem vielgepriesenen Kartoffelsalat. Zunächst waren wir über die sehr kleinen überschaubaren Portionsgrößen erstaunt: - mein Fischteller bestand fast nur aus frittiertem Paniermehl, die geringe Menge Fisch war trocken, - ein Zanderfilet war bestückt mit einer Vielzahl von Gräten, - ein Kartoffelsalat beinhaltete ein ganze ungenießbare, rohe Kartoffel. Insgesamt waren wir fast alle recht unzufrieden. Wir hatten, bei den deutlich gehobenen Preisen (Alle Details wurden außerdem gesondert berechnet), mehr Qualität und Genuss erwartet. Ich sagte dies dem Kellner beim Abkassieren; dabei entstand folgender Dialog: "Wir waren unzufrieden mit dem Essen und der Bedienung ..." - "Da kann ich nichts dafür, das müssen Sie der Chefin sagen" - "Wo ist die Chefin?" - "Die ist im Moment nicht da" Auf ein Trinkgeld für den Kellner haben die meisten von uns verzichtet.

Ich war mit meinem Fahrrad unterwegs als mich unerwartet ein Regenschauer überraschte. Ich hab vor Öffnung des Lokals, durchgefroren ,durchnässt darum geben drei mal ob ich mich bitte unterstellen und kurz aufwärmen kann bis mein Onkel mich abholt. Die Managerin hat nur mit dem Kopf geschüttelt und mich angeschrieben das ich auf keinen Fall rein kommen kann ! Und Sie nicht belästigen solle! Dabei wollte ich nichts außer kurz mich aufwärmen. Sowas unfreundliches ist mir noch nie wieder fahren.

Very unfriendly boss, not suitable for buses! No parking space, no possibility of turning around, you have to let your guests walk about 500m, then drive backwards for about 2.3km to find a way to turn around, and everything back again!!! The parking lot is cordoned off with a barrier 2.5m high! And the cherry on top is that as a driver with 40 guests you have to pay for your food and drink! Statement from the boss that she doesn't need buses to come to her!!! I personally find it very arrogant and unfriendly!!!

I've been really enjoying coming here for dinner for years. Service is always top and also responds to requests. Food is ordered and nowhere else is it on the table as quickly as at Rott Island. Whether outside in summer or inside in winter, there is always enough space. (See pictures) My personal favorite: Trout cooked in wine sauce. Big praise to the waiter, who is always in a good mood 🤙🏻

Vorab wir besuchen das Lokal seit über 40 Jahren. Bei Preiserhöhungen ist es nicht nur die Erhöhung, die Portion wird kleiner. Das Essen schmeckt mit Ausnahmen noch gut. Allerdings bei Zander in Weinsoße ist die nicht mehr dämig, die hat die Konsistenz von Wasser. Die Fischsuppe war früher echt Klasse mit mehreren Fischstückchen, heutzutage sind nur ein ganz dünne Art Fäden drin. Beim Blick auf die Speisekarte von 2024 kostet inzwischen 1 Portion Kartoffelsalat 6 Euro, das ist doch wirklich unfassbar! Unterem schreibe ich auch heute im Februar 2024 noch eine Bewertung für November 2023. Alles in Allem sind wir schweren Herzens am Überlegen, ob wir uns weitere Besuche noch leisten wollen Ach waren das noch Zeiten, die Seniorchefin Frau Roth das Sagen hatte. Echt schade.

Preis-Leistung sehr gut. Essen gut und schnell. Service perfekt. Innendesign könnte schöner sein, aber mit dem Service hat man mit der Modernisierung schon angefangen.

Trotz weniger Gäste wurde für uns die Terrasse freigegeben. Freundlich, zuvorkommend, wie vor 30 Jahren. Und der Fisch , wie erwartet völlig zufriedenstellend. Das sagt ein Alter Gastronom.

Behindertengerechter Zugang trift nicht zu. Treppen vor dem Restaurant. Zum Terasse soll ein Rampe geben, allerdings sind keine Behindertengerechte Parkplätze bei der Rampe vorhanden.

Seid Jahren fahren wir zur Insel Rott Waldfrieden da wir immer gerne den gemischten Salat und ich vor allem gebackene Forelle gegessen haben. Aber der letzte Besuch war diesbezüglich für meine Frau und ich nachdenklich in dem wir nach unserem Essen was auch wieder sehr gut war unaufgefordert die Rechnung bekamen vom Kellner mit dessen Hinweis " es warten schon die nächsten ". Wohlgemerkt der Tisch war nicht reserviert und wir hatten noch nicht ganz ausgetrunken. Ich denke auf diese Art und Weise werden sich keine Gäste finden lassen. Wir jedenfalls werden vorerst fernbleiben.

Noch nie so schlecht gegessen. Fisch hat gestunken. Habe fast alles im Teller gelassen, und wurde nicht mal angesprochen ob es geschmekt hat oder wie oder was, kellner hat einfach kassiert und abgeräumt. Habe noch 3 Euro Trinkgeld gegeben.

Service Personal ist immer sehr freundlich , Familien. sind willkommen. Auch Kleinkinder. Preislich noch an der Grenze. Wir hatten frittierten Zander bestellt. mit Pommes und Salat. Fisch war nicht zu trocken War sehr gut wie immer, aber die Beilagenportionen sind kleiner geworden als in den Vorjahren. Aber bedenkenlos weiter zu empfehlen.

Wir sind über 1Stunde von Pforzheim hierher gefahren, um uns mit Freunden zum Essen zu treffen und standen vor verschlossener Tür. Auf der Website war kein Hinweis darauf, daß die Gaststätte Urlaub hat.

Das war schon mal besser. Recht teuer und eigentlich nichts besonderes auf dem Teller.

Nach dem ich nun seit gut 40 Jahren es immer wieder genossen habe hier frischen Zander zu essen war ich heute leider sehr enttäuscht! Der Fisch war mit Nichten frisch aus der Pfanne sondern eindeutig aus dem Konvektomat also nochmal heiß gemacht! Er war dadurch viel zufest und obendrein auch zu stark gewürzt. Der Kartoffelsalat war leider auch nicht mehr das was er mal war! Ist echt schade aber dafür lohnt sich der Weg dorthin leider nicht mehr.

Schönes Ambiente im Freien, leckere Fische, wenige Meter zum Rhein, akzeptable Preise.

Perfectly cooked delicious fresh fish in a beautiful location by the river. Very friendly owner and staff who helped me choose what to eat. (My bad German was not a problem). They can prepare the fish any way you choose. I think I will be back tomorrow!
