Restaurant Il Bagutta in Köln

The starters and main courses were very creamy, and the waiters threw the plates in our faces, so we had to take them away from them 😅

Rush, pressure and no hospitality We were looking forward to a lovely evening in a stylish atmosphere, but unfortunately it was a disappointment. When we made the reservation we were told that everyone at the table had to order a 3-course meal - no choice, no flexibility. Why? No explanation. As soon as we arrived, it was made clear to us that our table was only available for a limited time. The courses came quickly, the service seemed stressed, and before we knew it, the bill had already been brought to us - with the unspoken request to clear the table. An evening that should have been special felt like a fast food joint with a compulsory menu. Very disappointing and definitely not a recommendation.

Very nice little restaurant with good cuisine. Not a huge selection but everyone will definitely find something to suit their taste. The price is a bit too high but you can do it for special occasions. That you have a limited one Limit and then having to clear the table again is annoying, so there was no time for dessert or more drinks. You have to think carefully about which shift you want to reserve.

Unfortunately, I can no longer recommend the Il Bagutta restaurant because the customer service in our case was absolutely unacceptable. We had a reservation on February 15th. at 8:30 p.m. for four people and wanted to inquire the same day whether it would be possible to bring another person. Instead of receiving polite feedback, our concern was dismissed by employee A. with an overwhelmed and negative attitude. After much back and forth, we were finally reluctantly allowed to add one person to the reservation. But instead of being welcomed as guests, we were treated unkindly when we arrived. What was particularly shocking was the comment from a service employee with glasses and a cap who literally described us as “extremely antisocial” just because we had made a small change to the reservation and sensitized the employee. Such disrespectful treatment of guests is absolutely unprofessional and disappointing. The fact that no one apologized for this inappropriate comment tops it all off. We left the restaurant immediately and will definitely not recommend it. Anyone who values ​​hospitality and professional service should avoid Il Bagutta.

Every dish was a delight, making it clear that the kitchen puts a lot of effort into quality and presentation. The service was solid but nothing exceptional. The staff was friendly and attentive, though at times a bit too talkative, which slightly disrupted the dining experience. The atmosphere was enjoyable, though it depended on where you were seated. Some spots offered a cozy and relaxed vibe, while others felt a bit less comfortable. All in all, a great place for good food with a decent dining experience. Would definitely return for the food alone!

Nice little restaurant with excellent cuisine and great service. The wine advice was also extremely competent. The only drawback was that we were only allowed to use the table that had been reserved well in advance for two hours. This should be taken into account in advance. Otherwise we would be happy to come back

One of my favorite shops in Cologne. Great atmosphere in the courtyard, good wine selection. Good cuisine. More expensive than average.

From a distance I could only see the many candles in the window and even though we didn't initially feel like eating Italian food that evening, we were magically drawn to it. We were not alone with this feeling. The rustic, loving tables - more found than bought - were almost all occupied. Only a small table for two, not much wider than a penalty box, had found space in the narrow space and shared it with us. We sat opposite each other and yet were very close to each other. -I will evaluate the depth of future tables differently- The waiters were incredibly friendly. The map is clear and exquisite. You shouldn't miss the presentation of the day ticket. It didn't even occur to us to find a fly in the soup, intoxicated by the delicacies. Only recommended. Thanks

War ein super Abend, schade war dass die Nachricht welche ich über OpenTable versendet hatte um 2 Gläser Champagner/Prosecco zu bekommen nicht beachtet wurde aber da kann ich guten Gewissens drüber hinweg sehen. War top Service!

Very nice restaurant in the middle of the Zülpich area. Despite the Christmas stress, the service was always super friendly, the food was very tasty and the wines were also very good. I was here as part of a Christmas party, but I would also like to come back with family or friends.

A beautiful place - very cozy thanks to the candles and perfect for a date night (but certainly other things too)! The staff was typically Rhineland - very open, funny and professional at the same time. The food was above average and in my opinion even better than at Massimo in the southern part of the city. In addition, the seating is significantly less crowded and there is basically more space. Not exactly cheap fun, but an absolutely recommendable address right in the center of Cologne 😊

Very tasty food and friendly service. The atmosphere is cozy and not overcrowded. The only thing that needs to be renovated are the men's toilets, which are not in good condition.

So embarrassing with guests: speed food! We had reserved the Bagutta well in advance for a special occasion with guests because of the beautiful atmosphere and the fine food. I'm still so ashamed. Right at the reception, we weren't seated yet, and we were told that we only had the table for two hours. The aperitif came with a long delay, so we had it with the main course. The food came quickly and so did the bill. We were then immediately asked to leave. In fact, the entire restaurant was emptied and the next shift was waiting outside the door. I have never experienced such processing at a high-priced restaurant. It was just terribly embarrassing. I am extremely disappointed.

I don't usually write reviews, but it would be a shame not to appreciate our evening at Il Bagutta. With around 10 good friends we had an evening here that was second to none. After a little misunderstanding When making the reservation, they gave everything (and I mean everything!) to prepare us a wonderful dinner. We were given extensive advice about the meal itself and all of our questions were answered without exception. The group's allergy sufferers also got their money's worth and were well informed and included. We all really enjoyed the 3-course menu. As a truffle fan, I stumbled out of the store absolutely thrilled when I chose the Pasta Tartufo. So here's a big compliment to the kitchen, really "tasty" ;) There is a very extensive wine list and here too we received very friendly advice; I was personally very convinced by our waiter's recommendation. And while we're on the subject, David served us all evening, always cheering up the already relaxed atmosphere with his friendly and open-minded manner. I can only recommend Il Bagutta wholeheartedly and look forward to my next visit. It's rare to find such friendly and attentive staff, but the food and ambience also exceeded all of our expectations.

Really good Italian restaurant, hidden in a side street on Zülpicher Straße - rather unexpected for the location. Inside, the atmosphere with lots of candles is very nice and cozy. Despite the restaurant being full and no reservations, we were looked after very kindly and a table was organized for us. We enjoyed both of our dishes (truffle and mushroom pasta) very much, the service was super friendly and always quick to reach. It's also nice that you have some choice when it comes to wine. Overall very successful, we would love to come back!

The restaurant was super cozy and had a great atmosphere. I tried the seafood pasta and I have to say that I have never tasted such a delicious dish! The only small downside was that you were often asked for extras, but that's sometimes part of the restaurant business and it wasn't at all intrusive. Overall, I can highly recommend the restaurant!

One of the best Italians in town. Employees are always attentive and always have a joke, but are also reserved when they realize it's a date, which I really appreciate. You feel in good hands here. The food is always very tasty and the wine selection is good. It's a shame that the menus were no longer available, it was a great value for money for me, but it certainly wasn't sustainable in the long term from a purely financial perspective. I can really recommend this restaurant in the heart of Cologne to anyone who wants to have a nice evening with friends or loved ones.

Wir waren zum ersten Mal zu Gast und waren begeistert

In dem Restaurant ist es sehr eng und auch recht laut. Das macht Ambiente und die Qualität des Essens aber locker wett! Das waren die besten Tagliatelle al Tartufo, die ich bisher gegessen habe. Es war auch noch Platz für Tiramisu, welches locker und frisch und gar nicht schwer war. Den Preis finde ich für die Qualität angemessen.

Neben dem gemütlichen, einladenden Ambiente waren die Bedienungen sehr zuvorkommend und aufmerksam. Meine Trüffelpasta hat außerdem vorzüglich geschmeckt. Ich kann jedem das Restaurant nur wärmstens empfehlen!

Great restaurant in Cologne with an extra dose of charm! The Bagutta has never disappointed us on any visit, we always have a great evening. Not only is the food delicious, the service is also always courteous. We also celebrated our wedding here and had the restaurant to ourselves. The whole team had a great time for us and our guests - we are always asked about it.

A beautiful little restaurant on Rathenauplatz. The food is very good, the starter platter is a real treat. The main game was great. The great service rounds off a great evening. You have to experience it to be believed.

Der Service ist immer sehr freundlich, aufmerksam und gibt Empfehlungen zu essen und trinken. Immer wieder gerne hier! Mein Favorit: Thunfisch-Mango Tartar und das Highlight die weiße Kalbsbolognese

We have only been to Il Bagutta once but have been to other “Massimo” branches several times. Each of the restaurants has its own style but one thing is always the same, the food is fantastic. We particularly liked the ambience at Bagutta, we sat in the courtyard in great weather. The service was very accommodating and super friendly. We'll definitely be back.

Ein weiteres Kleinod in Köln, das Il Bagutta im Kwatier Latäng. Unweit des Trubels der Zülpicher Str. kommt in einen kleinen im allerpositivsten Sinne leicht verkramten Laden. Gestartet wurde mit Winzersekt Rosé aus dem Hause Reinecker, danach folgten unsere Vorspeisen, Lachs Sashimi mit Blumenkohl(unsere große Empfehlung), Thunfisch Tatar, Vitello Tonato & einen gratinierten Ziegenkäse mit Salat von Honigmelone. Als Wein folgten wir dem Rat der Sommeliere Frau Cucciera und wählten einen Sauvignon Blanc Bergmandel aus Württemberg vom Weingut Schnaittmann. Unsere Hauptgänge waren dann klassisch für diesen Laden Pasta, einmal die etwas pikantere Pasta Salus(besondere Empfehlung der Sommelière) Meeresfrüchte in schärferer Tomatensauce. Die Pasta Tirolese ist ein Klassiker in allen Restaurants des Patron, weiße Kalbsbolognese. Trüffelpasta fanden wir okay. Ein Highlight war das Tagesspecial, Pasta mit Huhn und Zucchini. Als Wein gab es diesmal einen Riesling vom Weingut Seckinger aus der berühmten Lage Ruppertsberger Reiterpfad. Als Dessert folgten Torta della Nonna, ein sehr gutes Fertigprodukt, sowie eine Piztazien Creme und Mousse au Chocolat. Alles in allem ein ganz fantastischer Abend. Besonders erwähnen möchten wir den sehr charmanten Service und die wundervoll wuselige Atmosphäre, dies erinnert uns an Italien. Leider haben wir nicht alles fotografiert. Ein kleines weiteres Highlight ist die Musikalische Begleitung, u.a. Frank Sinatra 😍 und die Rolling Stones.

The quality has deteriorated significantly. I was recently served Barilla pasta here and when I commented that I found it disappointing not to use fresh pasta for such prices, I was told “the kitchen is too small”. Never again. A pity. PS: You could also buy fresh pasta ready-made in the wholesale market, but the operator probably prefers Barilla. I've eaten too many of them in my life and I can say that here with 100% certainty. I wish it were different.

Das Essen ist stets toll und der Service ebenfalls. Wir wurden leider auf Plätze am Straßenrand gesetzt. Das fand ich nicht so schön. Im Innenhof ist es am schönsten um Lokal selbst finde ich es recht laut.

Every dish here is actually excellent. But the bagutta is amazing. I've never eaten such a good baguette. It doesn't surprise me that the shop is called Baguette.

With such a small menu and the prices, I expected a little more from the pasta dishes, it wasn't that special. Something was missing to really round off the taste.

The friendly service ladies and gentlemen and the professionals in the kitchen know exactly what they are doing and we feel completely at home as guests. Of course we'll be back.
