Restaurant Il Bagutta in Köln

The restaurant was super cozy and had a great atmosphere. I tried the seafood pasta and I have to say that I have never tasted such a delicious dish! The only small downside was that you were often asked for extras, but that's sometimes part of the restaurant business and it wasn't at all intrusive. Overall, I can highly recommend the restaurant!

One of the best Italians in town. Employees are always attentive and always have a joke, but are also reserved when they realize it's a date, which I really appreciate. You feel in good hands here. The food is always very tasty and the wine selection is good. It's a shame that the menus were no longer available, it was a great value for money for me, but it certainly wasn't sustainable in the long term from a purely financial perspective. I can really recommend this restaurant in the heart of Cologne to anyone who wants to have a nice evening with friends or loved ones.

Great restaurant in Cologne with an extra dose of charm! The Bagutta has never disappointed us on any visit, we always have a great evening. Not only is the food delicious, the service is also always courteous. We also celebrated our wedding here and had the restaurant to ourselves. The whole team had a great time for us and our guests - we are always asked about it.

A beautiful little restaurant on Rathenauplatz. The food is very good, the starter platter is a real treat. The main game was great. The great service rounds off a great evening. You have to experience it to be believed.

Tolle Auswahl auf der Karte mit verschiedenen Vorspeisen, Nudelgerichten und Desserts. Großzügige Portionen, womit man definitiv satt wird. Der Service ist immer sehr freundlich, aufmerksam und gibt Empfehlungen zu essen und trinken. Immer wieder gerne hier! Mein Favorit: Thunfisch-Mango Tartar und das Highlight die weiße Kalbsbolognese

We have only been to Il Bagutta once but have been to other “Massimo” branches several times. Each of the restaurants has its own style but one thing is always the same, the food is fantastic. We particularly liked the ambience at Bagutta, we sat in the courtyard in great weather. The service was very accommodating and super friendly. We'll definitely be back.

Ein weiteres Kleinod in Köln, das Il Bagutta im Kwatier Latäng. Unweit des Trubels der Zülpicher Str. kommt in einen kleinen im allerpositivsten Sinne leicht verkramten Laden. Gestartet wurde mit Winzersekt Rosé aus dem Hause Reinecker, danach folgten unsere Vorspeisen, Lachs Sashimi mit Blumenkohl(unsere große Empfehlung), Thunfisch Tatar, Vitello Tonato & einen gratinierten Ziegenkäse mit Salat von Honigmelone. Als Wein folgten wir dem Rat der Sommeliere Frau Cucciera und wählten einen Sauvignon Blanc Bergmandel aus Württemberg vom Weingut Schnaittmann. Unsere Hauptgänge waren dann klassisch für diesen Laden Pasta, einmal die etwas pikantere Pasta Salus(besondere Empfehlung der Sommelière) Meeresfrüchte in schärferer Tomatensauce. Die Pasta Tirolese ist ein Klassiker in allen Restaurants des Patron, weiße Kalbsbolognese. Trüffelpasta fanden wir okay. Ein Highlight war das Tagesspecial, Pasta mit Huhn und Zucchini. Als Wein gab es diesmal einen Riesling vom Weingut Seckinger aus der berühmten Lage Ruppertsberger Reiterpfad. Als Dessert folgten Torta della Nonna, ein sehr gutes Fertigprodukt, sowie eine Piztazien Creme und Mousse au Chocolat. Alles in allem ein ganz fantastischer Abend. Besonders erwähnen möchten wir den sehr charmanten Service und die wundervoll wuselige Atmosphäre, dies erinnert uns an Italien. Leider haben wir nicht alles fotografiert. Ein kleines weiteres Highlight ist die Musikalische Begleitung, u.a. Frank Sinatra 😍 und die Rolling Stones.

The quality has deteriorated significantly. I was recently served Barilla pasta here and when I commented that I found it disappointing not to use fresh pasta for such prices, I was told “the kitchen is too small”. Never again. A pity. PS: You could also buy fresh pasta ready-made in the wholesale market, but the operator probably prefers Barilla. I've eaten too many of them in my life and I can say that here with 100% certainty. I wish it were different.

Das Essen ist stets toll und der Service ebenfalls. Wir wurden leider auf Plätze am Straßenrand gesetzt. Das fand ich nicht so schön. Im Innenhof ist es am schönsten um Lokal selbst finde ich es recht laut.

Every dish here is actually excellent. But the bagutta is amazing. I've never eaten such a good baguette. It doesn't surprise me that the shop is called Baguette.

With such a small menu and the prices, I expected a little more from the pasta dishes, it wasn't that special. Something was missing to really round off the taste.

Guys, even if it doesn't look like much from the outside and looks very inconspicuous - go in and enjoy it. We ate across the menu and got advice on drinks. The friendly service ladies and gentlemen and the professionals in the kitchen know exactly what they are doing and we feel completely at home as guests. Of course we'll be back. I recently visited a restaurant that pleasantly surprised me in many ways. As soon as you entered, you were struck by the stylish, modern furnishings, which create a welcoming atmosphere. From the start, the service was attentive and friendly without being intrusive. The menu offered a balanced mix of traditional and innovative dishes, which made the choice not easy. I chose the homemade ravioli with a fine truffle cream, which tasted absolutely convincing. The pasta was perfectly al dente and the filling was aromatic and rich. My companion chose the grilled salmon fillet, which was served on a bed of sautéed vegetables and quinoa. Here too, the freshness and quality of the ingredients were convincing. Particularly noteworthy is the wine list, which offers an impressive selection of regional and international wines. Finally, we treated ourselves to the homemade tiramisu, which rounded off the evening perfectly. The only small point of criticism was the slightly longer waiting time between courses, but this was more than made up for by the high quality of the food. Overall, a restaurant that I can recommend without reservation - ideal for a special evening or a cozy dinner with friends.

Service - simply Cologne. Nice, very good, funny. And also. The food (tartar) was really tasty. I particularly liked the atmosphere in the beautifully decorated courtyard. A place to stay for a long time :)

Were there for the first time today. We thought the atmosphere was great. Service 5 ⭐️. As a greeting from the kitchen there was delicious bread with olive oil and Italian potato salad. For the main course we had spring salad (yum, great dressing). The veal schnitzel wasn't that great, not seasoned, the breading was quite firm (not souffled), the side dish of asparagus with hollandaise was very good, the "rosemary potatoes" were very oily and unfortunately just missed the rosemary. The kiddies also had pasta with delicious tomato sauce. Will definitely come back.

Way too expensive for what you get and rather unfriendly service. The food was very tasty but nothing special - but I expected much more for the price. The inner courtyard is really cozy. For 2 people €100 left without dessert and second drink

We've eaten here before and were very satisfied. The quality of the food is really good. Yesterday we wanted to reserve a table for my birthday and were very disappointed with the service. We were treated quite rudely and they couldn't give us the table we wanted, even though the reservation was only in two weeks. The reasoning behind this was that those who booked first also had the right to get the table in the courtyard. They couldn't tell us how many people had already made reservations that day or whether we would be lucky enough to be able to sit in the courtyard. Everything is relatively strange and for the price category you can really expect more service. It cannot be the case that you pay for food in the high-priced segment but then receive unfriendly treatment when making your reservation.

We were there with a slightly larger group. The food was ok but the pasta pileto that I and another friend ordered had completely forgotten the salt. We simply added more salt to the pasta ourselves instead of giving it back because we were very hungry, but of course it doesn't taste the same. The waiter was far too unfriendly for my taste. Some guests may find this to be “original” and “authentic” if the cliché of the unfriendly Köbis is obviously being used, but I simply found it disrespectful. And I wasn't alone in that either. It's actually a shame because we all really liked the location. The outdoor area is ideal for warm days and is really beautifully decorated for a restaurant in this price range, but the inside also looks super cozy.

Ich fand die Preise ein Stück weit zu hoch für die Qualität des Nudeltellers. Wenn dann muss auch ordentlich was drauf sein und vor allem wenn Filet drauf steht sollte auch mehr als 4 Mini Stücke auf dem Teller zu finden sein. Service 1a

Bei allem Verständnis für die schwierige Zeit für die Gastronomie sind wir nicht mehr bereit uns nach 2 Stunden (Imbiss Charakter) aus einem nicht günstigen Restaurant heraus komplementieren zu lassen. Das Gefühl nur schnell abgefertigt zu werden geht überhaupt nicht. Ein Restaurant Besuch besteht nicht in der schnellen Aufnahme von Essen und Getränken; es fehlt - auch weil das Il Bagutta viel zu eng bestuhlt und viel zu laut ist- der Wohlfühl Faktor. Der Gast sollte selber entscheiden können wie lange sein Aufenthalt sein wird. Wir werden die ‚ 2- Zeiten vergeben‘ Restaurantes nicht mehr besuchen.

Tolles Ambiente, vor allem bei gutem Wetter! Leckeres Essen & toller Wein. Wir hatten einen sehr tollen Abend.

Unser erster Besuch in diesem Restaurant und zugleich auch der letzte. Ambiente und Service sind gut jedoch das Essen war sehr enttäuschend. Preisleistung hat nicht gestimmt. Bestellt haben wir ein Thunfisch Tatar, Kalbsschnitzel und Pasta Salus. Das Thunfisch Tatar war gut jedoch für den Preis eine viel zu kleine Portion. Das Kalbsschnitzel war richtig trocken und hart wie Stein und somit ungenießbar gewesen. Wurde anstandslos zurückgenommen und wurde auch nicht berechnet. Die Präsentation wäre in jeder Kantine besser gewesen. Die Pasta war zerkocht. Die Soße war ein Reinfall und hat überwiegend nach Tomatenmark geschmeckt. Den Nachtisch haben wir uns dann erspart.

Immer wieder 10/10! Service, Essen und Location sehr zu empfehlen, bin noch nie enttäuscht worden :)

I eat at Il Bagutta every year when I visit Cologne. It is a special treat! The space is quaint and delightful. The food is fresh, and the menu varies with the seasons. Oftentimes, the chef will send us a surprise antipasto (on the house) to try. This year, it was a flavorful potato salad drizzled with a balsamic vinegar, alongside crusty rustic bread with olive oil and sea salt. So delicious! Most of their pastas are handmade in-house. You can taste the love in every bite.

We were always a fan of Il Bagutta, but the price/performance ratio is no longer right. 30.50€ for a clear veal schnitzel probably from the deep fryer with 3 asparagus spears... well then... Antipasti plate for 4 people €74, we were also amazed at what we had on our plate for €74…

Il Bagutta is one of my favorite restaurants in Cologne: super tasty, the service is great. You just feel really comfortable... I love being there.
