Was soll ich sagen, wir sind jedes Mal wieder begeistert. Super leckeres Essen , absolut tolles Personal und Ambiente. Wir lieben es dort einfach.

Obwohl das Restaurant sehr gut besucht war, war es ruhig und nicht hektisch. Durch die geschickte Raumaufteilung nimmt man die vielen Gäste kaum wahr. Das Essen war frisch zubereitet und sehr lecker

Sehr leckeres Essen, nettes, freundliches Personal, die immer eine lustigen Spruch auf den Lippen haben. Ambiente ist sehr klassisch, aber stimmig und gemütlich. Sehr zu empfehlen für Leute, die gerne deftiges Essen mögen und einfach einen schönen Abend verbringen wollen.

Das Restaurant ist ziemlich groß, aber so geschickt unterteilt, dass man die Größe gar nicht wahr nimmt. Es ist super zu erreichen und hat einen großen Parkplatz. Das Service-Personal ist sehr nett, zuvorkommend und immer für einen Scherz zu haben. Das Essen ist sehr gut! Schnell serviert, toll angerichtet, gut abgeschmeckt und auf den Punkt gegart. Wir haben uns rundum wohl gefühlt. Vielen Dank.

Leider können wir nichts Gutes berichten. Wir waren zu dritt essen und sind Mega enttäuscht. Die Soßen bestanden aus billigen schon schwarzen Dosenpilzen die man mit der Lupe suchen musste. Die Soßen waren dünn wie Wasser und vollkommen geschmacksneutral. Selbst die verschiedenen Salate waren ungewürzt. Wir baten den Chef persönlich ob wir das restliche Schnitzel von meinem Enkel mitnehmen dürfen, als Antwort sagte er ob wir die Reste vom Nachbarn auch mitnehmen wollen. Offensichtlich handelt es sich um echte Komiker in diesem Laden. Dumme Witzchen am Tisch , gepaart mit Arroganz und Überheblichkeit sind ein schlechter Berater. Das dieses Lokal voll mit Gästen ist, kann nur wundern. Wir kommen sicherlich nicht mehr.

Ich war begeistert!! Der Ort ist wunderbar, die Gerichte sind hervorragend zubereitet und der Service ist erstklassig.

Essen bzw. Fleisch war gut, der Salat und die Beilagen na ja, teils etwas zu salzig. Das Restaurant hat ein hübsches Ambiente, was den manchmal etwas ruppigen Service kompensiert.

Für den 25.12. hatten wir mit 7 Erwachsenen und einem Baby 1 Monat zuvor einen Tisch reserviert für 19:30 Uhr. Leider stand vor der Tür eine riesen Schlange als wir das Restaurant betreten wollten. Reservierungen die weit vor uns dran waren hatten bereits eine Wartezeit von 2 Stunden. Sowas darf nicht passieren, vor allem nicht an Weihnachten. Absolut unorganisiert und schlecht. Wir mussten dann woanders essen und dass man am 25.12. so kurzfristig für so viele Personen plus Baby nix mehr findet ist ja klar, also waren wir dann im türkischen Imbiss. Einfach nur peinlich und enttäuschend Haus Hünenpforte

Trotz, dass unsere Familie Wochen im Voraus einen Tisch reserviert hat war nichts frei. Es haben mindestens 50 Menschen vor uns auf einen Tisch gewartet. Es ist hier brutal überfüllt und sehr laut. Absolut unorganisierte Terminierung. Wir mussten uns entscheiden entweder 120-180 Minuten zu warten, nach Hause zu fahren oder wo anders etwas essen zu gehen. Nie wieder hier hin!

Tolles rustikales Essen in schöner Umgebung mit sehr nettem Personal. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

The roast goose with red cabbage and baked apple is highly recommended. It was full, but we still managed to get a table for two without a reservation.

Invited to a family celebration. Absolutely fantastic. Plenty of delicious food, great and attentive service. If we lived nearby, we would definitely come again.

The food was good, the service was friendly, and the location was interesting. So why not 5 stars? I think it's a bit too expensive! I can get something comparable for €2-3 less per dish.

The food was very good. The tomato cream soup and pepper steak are highly recommended. Unfortunately, prices have increased, as is the case everywhere in the restaurant industry. We'll gladly come again.

We were invited to an event at this restaurant and would like to describe our experience openly and fairly. Unfortunately, the evening was marked by numerous organizational deficiencies. Right from the start, it became apparent that agreements were apparently not being consistently adhered to. The service seemed overwhelmed and uncoordinated. The waiter poured the wine very carelessly, causing drops to land on the tablecloth – a detail that shouldn't happen in a restaurant setting. The interaction with the guests also left much to be desired. The question "Did you enjoy your meal?" was asked without any genuine interest, and the waiter's immediate response of "Thank you" seemed extremely odd. It was also extremely unprofessional to ask the hosts to take photos of the buffet and then pressure the guests to open the buffet themselves. Such procedures are the responsibility of the couple or hosts themselves, not the service staff. Another point of criticism: plates of food had already been cleared away during a brief absence. Even if it's a buffet, you shouldn't make guests feel like they have to be wasteful or rush. Regarding the atmosphere: Music played continuously in the ballroom, but the sound quality of the speakers was so poor that headaches were almost inevitable due to overloading. The only positive aspect is the food. The quality of the buffet was excellent and the taste was truly impressive – that's why it gets a star. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend this restaurant for events – and if we do, then only with prior written confirmation of all arrangements, so that you can be sure that you, as the event organizer, are not left to your own devices.

I ate an amazing tomato soup yesterday. I could have easily sat down in it or eaten three bowls in a row. The guys and girls were all nice and funny; it was a lovely evening. Thank you.

We've eaten at the Hünenpforte a few times. It's a popular spot for small family gatherings. The food always tasted okay, but nothing more. There are three things we don't like. First, the food is far too expensive in our opinion. A Wiener schnitzel with fries and sauce, for example, costs over 30 euros and isn't a large portion. You have to put the price in perspective for what you get for it. Two smaller schnitzels and some fries from the deep fryer. Minimal time investment and no great cooking skills. I've eaten Wiener schnitzel many times. The special and delicious thing is a light, souffléd breading that is fried golden brown in plenty of clarified butter. I definitely didn't have that here. The visual appearance, especially the breading and its consistency, didn't match that of a Wiener schnitzel. Just a flat piece of meat. Second, we think the salad from the buffet is old-school. It doesn't look as visually appealing as a freshly prepared salad, and the ingredients aren't that great either. Key words: "Canned beans + huge chunks of tomatoes + lettuce leaves that are way too big." Thirdly, the service and staff aren't to our taste. We (three people) arrived a little early and waited at least 20 minutes before someone asked us for a drink. The staff is trying to be funny and, in our opinion, doesn't make the best jokes. My friend politely asked for another piece of bread with her salad. The answer was "No." She ordered vinegar and oil to dress her salad herself. She then received a rather poorly presented salad without dressing. She asked for the vinegar and oil she had ordered. The answer: "You can get anything at the salad bar - but you wanted nothing." Simply out of date and very unfunny. We wouldn't eat here for these reasons. But we were invited, and you don't want to disappoint your host.

There were 8 of us eating there and we were very satisfied. Unfortunately, one person's meat was cooked too dark.

Good, clean restaurant with an extensive, home-style menu. Whether it's burgers, lamb, asparagus and chanterelle mushroom dishes, fish, steaks, schnitzel, grilled dishes, vegetarian dishes, etc., there should be something for everyone here. The staff were attentive and friendly. The food arrived exceptionally quickly and was really tasty. It was a Wednesday, of course, but the short wait for the food is still worth mentioning. The rump steak, for example, was beautifully juicy and cooked to perfection. The decor is nice and rustic. There's also a banquet hall for larger events. There's also a lovely beer garden. Parking is available directly in front of the restaurant. Reservations can only be made by phone (online reservations would be nice). Prices range from... to... In my opinion, there should be something for every budget here. Steaks are a bit more expensive, of course, but that's to be expected if you want good meat.

I've tried many Croatian restaurants, but this is by far the No. 1! The food is very fresh, top quality, and extremely good! Everything is very clean, and the staff is great! 100% recommended

We hosted a birthday party there. It was a fantastic evening, thanks in part to the excellent food (buffet with soup starter and dessert) and the excellent service. I highly recommend the place. Update 05/2025: Went there again today for dinner. Everything was still great. And the next party is already planned. 😊

Update Easter 2025 Still great!! We've been eating here with our family (4 generations) for ages. This Saturday the food was so delicious again that I finally took the time to give it 5 stars. The rump steak is fillet quality. The 49 is a culinary delight for the palate. The schnitzels are a dream. The fish is great and boneless. The fries are narrow and cross. The vegetables are crisp and fresh. The salad buffet is always fresh and with a large selection. You don't sit on a presentation plate, but rather for yourself. There is a changing table and the toilet facility is always clean. The restaurant has recently started offering a lunch menu for €9.9 during the week. The quality and quantity are absolutely top class. Thanks to the really large team, you have always been friendly and helpful.

Everything is good and delicious.

Friendly service, and we sat in a sheltered corner. The food was delicious and plentiful. Advance reservations are recommended, especially for groups.

We were there on Saturday evening with eight people. Luckily we had a reservation because the store was already packed at 6:30 p.m. We sat in the hall at a large round table that had enough space. That was of course very communicative. The service was really good. Friendly, sometimes very funny, fast. The menu is very extensive, which of course makes it difficult to choose. :-) The dishes are not "star cuisine", more in the direction of home cooking. The food itself came quickly and for everyone at the same time, considering that the shop was packed. Everything tasted really good. Only the fried onions weren't fresh but rather those "dry fried onions" that you can buy in any supermarket. But that is the only point of criticism that can be made. The prices of the dishes we ordered ranged from €23 to €30 per person per meal. I paid a total of €86 (plus tip) for two people with drinks and desserts. That's okay, as pretty much all restaurateurs in Hagen have raised their prices in the last two years. Do I recommend the “Chicken Gate”? Yes.

Everything is great! We were there on Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. without a reservation - it was clear that everything was occupied. The very friendly staff asked us to wait a few minutes as a table would become available soon. The food was really tasty and we didn't have to wait long. So definitely highly recommended – and please don’t forget to reserve a table in advance!

We won't visit the restaurant again straight away. I thought the food was the last thing. The meat wasn't cooked through. The fries tasted like they had been eaten before. All in all, the food was forgettable. Totally overpriced for 24 euros. The food there was really good years ago. The salad buffet also looked like it was from the day before yesterday. Appetizing is different. That was our opinion here. But we cannot recommend the restaurant more highly.

Ambience and service were very good. I ordered Funny Bosniak as a special request and was totally disappointed. I didn't receive an Angus rump steak, but obviously a questionable rump steak. Fried and seasoning was good; but the meat was terrible. Hard as nails and not to be enjoyed. I was very disappointed and will not be visiting the restaurant again.

Wir waren schon mehrfach in der Hünenpforte. Wir reisen aus Stuttgart an, da meine Schwiegermutter in Hohenlimburg wohnt, und freuen uns jedesmal auf das Restaurant. Das Essen ist sehr gut, die Preise vernünftig und das Personal sehr freundlich und herzlich und scherzt gerne mit den Gästen.

The food is overpriced, especially for food that doesn't really taste that good unless you order something typical like burgers or fries. But the climate and the workers there are friendly and funny.

So a very nice atmosphere inside and outside. The staff is super nice and accommodating and the food is simply delicious and also plentiful for the price. TOP!!!

Nice, bright and cozy restaurant with nice and friendly service. The menu is very good and offers a wide selection from starters to various main courses and dessert... everyone should find something tasty for themselves here! The salad bar also looked very good. Overall, a visit here is highly recommended and, to be on the safe side, it's better to reserve in advance!!

After being turned away from another restaurant with 8 motorcyclists, we searched Google for an alternative. Hünenpforte that at 2.6km and had good reviews. And that turned out to be true! A phone call in advance made it clear that there was room for 9 people (1 co-driver on the back) and we were welcome. Upon arrival, the Croatian owner spoke to us and a real table was ready for us. The food and drinks were quickly taken and reserved. Delicious. Highly recommended, this restaurant with cozy seating.

Absolut empfehlenswert. Wir hatten 4 Essen (Hähnchenbrust m. Ananas, Geschnetzeltes, überbackenes Schnitzel und einen Grillteller) Alle Essen waren sehr schön angemacht und Superlecker. Auch die Salattheke ließ keinen Wunsch offen. Ganz großartig.

Hab mit meiner Frau kurzentschlossen am Samstag Abend dieses sehr schöne Restaurant besucht, sehr nettes Personal und mein Lachs in Dillsoße war großartig.

Eigentlich - Sterne, Suppe kalt und total versalzen. Geht gar nicht, Aussage zu wenig Personal und viel zu viel Reservierungen.

Wir haben heute 1 1/2 Stunden auf unser Essen gewartet, das Service Personal schien überfordert und lief andauernd kommentarlos an uns vorbei. Es gab noch nicht mal in der gesamten Wartezeit einen Brotkorb o.Ä. Die Gerichte waren geschmacklich zudem wirklich kein Highlight. Für uns war es das erste und letzte Mal.

Geschmacklich war das Essen an Weihnachten sehr gut. Gäste mit Loch im Bauch sollten aber über 3 Gänge nachdenken. Der Hauptgang war etwas klein bemessen Ambiente und Service ist durchaus gut
