Elbers 800 Grad Restaurant + Bar in Hagen

We were there for New Year's Eve. The restaurant was busy and unfortunately only had three servers. One was friendly but inattentive; the next table wasn't able to order drinks for 20 minutes. Our order was a bit quicker. It was very cold, and when we asked, they said the heating was broken. There was a real draft! The food was okay.

We can't agree with the negative reviews. Besides, you can't please everyone anyway. We really enjoyed our meal and the food was delicious. I've been a Maredo customer for over 20 years, and the quality hasn't changed at all. To all the know-it-alls who think it could be better: Yes, it could. But at home? Absolutely not. That's just nitpicking. The food was superb, the service was perfect and excellent. They were great with the children and even let them peek into the kitchen. It couldn't be better. Of course, there are many good steakhouses. But this one is fantastic, the ambiance is outstanding, and the whole package has to be right. And it definitely is. We'll definitely be back. We ate there with five happy people, including two children aged 9 and 12. We highly recommend it for a lovely evening. Keep up the good work, we'll gladly return. The Sieth Family

The ambiance was great, and the service was more than willing to do everything – kudos to them. However, three waiters are simply not enough when the place is packed (December 31st), especially when not everyone is handling everything (ordering, service, and payments). This lack of staffing unfortunately detracts significantly from the experience. A small suggestion: Replace the curtain to the kitchen entrance with a swing door; it was freezing cold.

"A Maredo, but not a Maredo" We entered Maredo and left our expectations of the ordinary at the door. What greeted us was not a rehash of familiar routines, but an evening that surprised us—quiet, yet impressive. The ambiance was fabulous. Warm, inviting, and serene. High praise for the kitchen. See picture. And then the service: A warm welcome from the start, attentive, present, never intrusive. Between courses, a genuine inquiry to see if everything was alright. And everything was. Thank you for this evening.

Excellent value for money. Amazing atmosphere, pleasant music in a relaxed, chill style. The food and drinks left nothing to be desired! I've rarely felt so comfortable in a large restaurant. The staff was attentive and friendly, helpful but not pushy. We had a great time and will definitely be back soon.

We were surprised that this steakhouse received such negative reviews. The service was more than perfect, the food was fantastic, and the ambiance speaks for itself because it's simply a great location, unlike anything else in North Rhine-Westphalia. In the end, we had a lovely chat with the owner, and we have to say... you've won us over as regulars.

THAT'S HOW PROFESSIONALS ARE!! My rump steak was sinewy, but the friendly server immediately replaced it. The person in charge even apologized again and bought us a free coffee, saving our evening. Shit happens. You can't control what's inside the meat. The second portion was exactly as I'd imagined it. A big thank you to everyone!

We were a group of 16 for dinner. When making the reservation, we had to pay a deposit and commit to a set menu from four suggested main courses (totally ridiculous), as well as a starter and dessert. Every year during the pre-Christmas season, we go out to eat with 16-18 people and never had to pay a deposit or commit to a menu. Eleven of us opted for rump steak, unfortunately. The meat was very sinewy on all of them. I complained about mine and received a replacement, but it was only marginally better. Our server was very attentive and friendly. My conclusion: never again Maredo. And I paid a lot of money for the poor quality.

We were there on Saturday, received a friendly welcome, and were shown to our reserved table. The drinks arrived quickly, and apart from the excessively loud music, we felt comfortable. By the time our food arrived, we had decided on the daily special. The meat was a disaster, and the portion size was unfortunately too small. After a minor complaint, we did receive two complimentary drinks, but that didn't save the evening. In short, never again; this place is cursed. 🌟 🤷‍♂️

Six of us ate there yesterday. We liked the atmosphere of the restaurant, and the music was okay in terms of volume. We would have liked to go to the bar, based on a friend's recommendation, but this was apparently not possible due to legal regulations. Since we had made a reservation in advance, a reminder of this would have been helpful. The drinks were good, and the staff were friendly and not pushy. We ordered three portions of rum steak. I can only rate the quality of the meat one star. Initially, the meat didn't come out as ordered, medium-well; it was still quite rare. At least they put it back on the grill, but that didn't improve the quality at all. Almost half of each portion was inedible. The other dishes we ordered were of the same quality. We won't be going there again; there are better value-for-money alternatives.

It's a shame. We used to enjoy the cocktail bar here, but it seems to be gone now. Instead, they only serve regular drinks.

Disappointing experience at Maredo Steakhaus Hagen I recently visited Maredo Steakhaus in Hagen and was unfortunately disappointed. While the atmosphere was cozy, the food left a lot to be desired. The portions were large, but the quality of the meat and side dishes was disappointing. The steak wasn't juicy, and the side dishes were bland. The service was friendly, but not particularly attentive. The prices weren't exactly cheap either. I wouldn't recommend Maredo Steakhaus, as there are many other good steakhouses in Hagen, such as Adria Steakhaus or Steakhaus Rustica. Perhaps Maredo Steakhaus should revise its cuisine and service to satisfy customers.

I went to Maredo in Hagen last night and was unfortunately very disappointed. The service was unfriendly and the food left a lot to be desired. We celebrated our birthday there with 120 guests and are still absolutely thrilled. Everything went fantastically well. The atmosphere is dreamy and unique, the food was delicious and generous, and the staff, from the kitchen to the bar and the chef, were super professional and exceptionally friendly. A huge thank you for this wonderful evening, one we will never forget!

A very nice restaurant, friendly staff, good service, and the food is of the usual Maredo quality. Reserving with OpenTable was a bit difficult, but they responded promptly via text message. I would recommend renovating the entrance area, as the restroom shares the stairwell entrance with the restaurant. We found this rather suboptimal. All in all, a lovely evening.

This restaurant is unbeatable for its bad food and unfriendliness. 15 minutes after ordering our steaks, the employee came over and told us the meat we'd ordered was rotten. We were already considering leaving, but instead we ordered rump steaks that were completely smoky and inedible. Stay away from this restaurant. Because, despite complaining, the waiter didn't care at all.

A unique experience, I have to say. The show and the ambiance are worth every cent. The service is also very polite and accommodating! The food is high quality, but I have to deduct a star for the quantity. I understand that everything has its price and I am willing to pay the price. But when I leave after a 4-course meal feeling slightly hungry, I do wonder if it was worth the price. However, nothing had been prepared on site, even though the restaurant was empty. Instead of a friendly greeting, they first checked whether there was enough space. The overall atmosphere was uncomfortable; in the open kitchen, you could see the chefs eating fries. When we wanted to leave the cake for cooling, we were suddenly told that this wasn't allowed – unless we paid €10 per person, as otherwise, we wouldn't order dessert. When we pointed out that it's customary in many restaurants to celebrate birthdays with your own cake, the employee reacted rudely, showed us the exit, and told us we'd just have to leave. That's not how you should be treated on a special day. We ended up spending our €200 elsewhere. Very disappointing and absolutely not recommended.

We had been assured a nice seat over the phone, and it was also confirmed that bringing a cake would be no problem. However, nothing had been prepared on site – even though there were hardly any guests in the restaurant. Instead of a friendly greeting, we were first given a critical look and checked whether there was enough space, even though almost everything was still free and we had reserved seats. We were finally shown to a table right next to the open kitchen, and the waitress immediately turned around without a word and walked away without waiting for us to be seated. The overall atmosphere felt cold and dark and uninviting. In the open kitchen, you could see the chefs casually eating fries – unprofessional. When we wanted to leave the birthday cake for cooling, we were suddenly told that this was only possible if we paid an extra 10 euros per person – otherwise we wouldn't order dessert. When we pointed out that this was perfectly normal in many restaurants and that we would also like to order dessert from the restaurant, the employee reacted very rudely. Instead of offering us a solution, they offered us the exit and made it clear that we should just leave. That's not how you should treat guests on a special day. We decided to spend our money – around 200 euros – at another restaurant. Unfortunately, a very disappointing experience. We will never set foot in this restaurant again. Absolutely not recommended. Unfriendly and very poor service, more appearance than substance.

Great atmosphere, terrible service. I've rarely experienced such unfriendly staff. When asked if the menu on the table was the drinks menu, the employee replied, "Yes, just like it says." It's a real embarrassing thing to lecture customers like that. With the main course, we complained about a cold and inedible side dish. There was no apology - further criticism during the billing process was also acknowledged by the same employee with a "well, okay." While the open kitchen looks cool, it certainly doesn't accommodate the kitchen staff's absences. Throwing meat into the (presumably) freezer in a fit of rage doesn't look particularly professional. Never again!

The ambiance is absolutely fantastic! The food was okay. The baked potato was unfortunately hard and cold. It was returned, however, and didn't appear on the bill. The waiter "in charge" that evening was unfortunately very unpleasant and seemed more comfortable lecturing guests than doing his job. After about 15 minutes, we were informed that the steak wouldn't be served on the hot stone for another 40 minutes, as the stone had to be brought up to operating temperature. We've never experienced anything like that before, especially not more than an hour after the restaurant opened. All in all, it wasn't a pleasant evening, and we will continue to visit and support other restaurants.

A steakhouse with an exceptional ambiance. The food is excellent. In addition to the steaks, the burgers are also highly recommended. The service could be improved. If you're coming with a larger group, we recommend making a reservation in advance.

Four of us were at the new Marino Steakhouse (formerly Hohhoffs 800 Grad). The decor remains high-quality and stylish. Unfortunately, our appetizers were initially forgotten, and the first main course only arrived after more than 45 minutes – which was disappointing. Positive: The staff was very friendly and professional. We had apricot schnapps on the house, the main courses were freshly prepared, and the appetizers arrived promptly. Everything was delicious: the fillet steak was excellent, as was the beef carpaccio. Only the herb butter was a bit underseasoned. The burgers were also great – especially with the double meat. In the end, we paid around €150 for four people, which is absolutely fair. Conclusion: Nice place with a lot of potential. Despite a rocky start, a successful evening.

If you want to experience something special and are willing to pay a little more, this restaurant is a must. The ambiance is unbeatable, the food is outstanding, and the service is absolutely professional. The whole package is just perfect.

The ambiance is very nice; we were there when SteakHouse 800 was there. It's now called Maredo, and I'm familiar with this concept from Münster and Dortmund. I have to say that the Maredo here in Hagen has precious little to do with the "Maredo franchise model." The food was okay, but I wouldn't go there again. Two tables ordered before us, and we had to wait about an hour for our food. Ours was occupied by three other tables, so it was very manageable. There's no typical Maredo salad buffet. 👎

We were there for the Le Petit Chef event. The chef gave us a very warm welcome. The show was brilliantly executed by the partner. The kitchen, too, delivered the food just in time for the video. The quality of the food was top-notch; we thoroughly enjoyed it. The service was attentive and unobtrusive. A small sniff was handled perfectly. For health reasons, a low-sugar cocktail was offered that wasn't on the menu. All in all, a harmonious experience that was absolutely worth the 120-kilometer drive. Hello everyone, NOTHING for those on a tight budget, but worth an EXPERIENCE. As a guest, you feel particularly valued here. Extremely friendly staff. The food is perfectly prepared and presented. Everything tastes just as perfect as it looks. You can have a good conversation in the large room and the high ceiling is a feast for the eyes. You don't see something like that often. I can only recommend it to you for very special occasions.

We eat there maybe 2 or 3 times a year. It always tastes very good, the quality of the meat, the doneness, the sides. The service is very high class without being snooty. We really enjoy coming there again and again. Unreservedly recommended!

The ambience was very nice and the service was also good, the waiter was very nice, the food tasted good too. 1 point deducted because we have eaten better quality steaks. Price performance ratio is right. Our daughter was allowed to get ice cream herself in the kitchen together with the waitress, which was very nice and of course a highlight for our daughter. We would definitely eat here again.

UPDATE March 7, 2025: This bar is visually a 100 and the drinks are perfect despite the slimmed down menu. So actually 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️! I still rate it with one star because for the second time we were treated very unfriendly and rather rude by a service employee. The two ladies are ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️❣️ Previous review: We only rate the bar, service and ambience here. For us it's the only useful bar in Hagen with consistently delicious and beautifully decorated drinks. Priced at 8-10 euros, it's completely reasonable for this quality and the beautiful ambience. We would particularly like to highlight the bartender, who seemed quite young, but delivered quick and, above all, professional work and information, no matter how busy it was. I had to revise my saying that no one makes drinks as good as Caipi Alex at this place. We will be visiting there more often and can recommend this bar to everyone.

Unfortunately I have to rate the price/performance with one star because they no longer accepted our €50 voucher. Because he was already older than 3 years. We accepted that that evening and didn't think anything of it. But in retrospect we know that the voucher was still valid. If the voucher was purchased in 2021... It is valid until the end of 2024. and we were there in December 2024. It's really a shame... Because otherwise everything was good. You kept the voucher that evening, evil is whoever thinks evil.

Disappointing! Outrageous! Incredible! Reserved for New Year's Eve 2 weeks ago!!! When making a reservation, there was no mention of a menu or an event... today, December 28th, 24, we are called and told that there is only a 4-course menu for €110 per person and the menu is briefly listed (which according to the menu would NOT be €110)! Thank you for ruining our New Year's Eve, because 2 days before New Year's Eve you can't get a table anywhere!!!

The food was really delicious. What was really catastrophic...The size of the portion. Portion for five year olds. E.g. steak, approx. 130 - 150 g. You don't ask beforehand how you would like your steak. It is probably assumed that medium is OK. A tablespoon of puree is drawn onto the plate for a while. Garnished with onions etc and a dollop of sauce. Guys, and then over 40 € for that!!!. So there was a group there and unfortunately everyone didn't get their food at the same time. Then in the next room. A really nice room. However, as a guest you have to get the drinks yourself at the bar and pay immediately. No waiter comes. If you want to play in the Champions League, you have to perform accordingly! Unfortunately, this is not the case here. So in a nutshell: - Service= 1 star - Ambience = 5 stars - Price/performance = 0 stars Customer service is different. Especially in the price range of the restaurant.

Excellent steaks, very friendly, fast and competent service. Potential for improvement: our surprise menu for 99 euros included 4 courses. A very small sorbet was counted as a full course. Unfortunately, the rum steak included wasn't really great. At this price it should be put together a little better. And otherwise: the bread is a dream, the pulp is simply perfect. In any case a recommendation in Hagen.

Was here for the all you can eat BBQ and can only recommend it to anyone who likes a lot of meat.. the meat was buttery soft and literally fell off the bone, unfortunately the beef was too well done for me.. I like it English.. bloody. . nevertheless it was served really well..

It was a completely successful evening!!! The ambience is extravagant and really impressive. The service is very attentive, friendly and always provides excellent information about each course and the wines. In our opinion the food was worth every cent. It is more expensive than others but significantly better than its predecessor. Every course had a special taste that you wouldn't have expected. Even the sauces and side dishes were special and very tasty🌟🌟 In this form, the restaurant is unparalleled!! Hopefully it will last a long time, we'll be happy to come back!🔥🥩🍹

The service and ambience are unbeatable. The recommendations and speeches from the super-nice waiter were A1!!! The ambience of the restaurant is equally impressive. The starters and desserts we ordered were also top notch. Likewise the greeting from the kitchen. When it came to the main course, I and my colleagues were missing that certain something extra. The meat was good and cooked to perfection, but apart from the meat there was nothing else on the plate. The side dishes were too Extra class. The price was 85% justified. We were in Elbers for the first time on December 27th, 2019. We are 4 friends. 3 of them are chefs and one has worked in the food industry for 25 years. Whether it's about the service or the cuisine - full marks. For example, I had the chef give me a recommendation. Where does it ever happen that the boss personally comes to the table and recommends?!! The meat was spot on, the sides were outstanding and the dessert was perfect. We definitely weren't there for the last time. Thank you for a great culinary experience!!!

We spontaneously went to Elbers800 yesterday and were thrilled as always. From the service to the food, it's just very good and tasty. Unfortunately the EM Burger was no longer available, it was really really good! But you can always find what you're looking for on the map! The greeting from the kitchen is always a great taste experience. We had the cheeseburger with fries and dessert. The food was just great! Price-performance is absolutely fulfilled for me. For me it is the best restaurant in Hagen! We will be back!

Very great atmosphere and very good food with great service

The food (steak) was nothing special.. unfortunately disappointed.. Dessert non-existent..eating under time pressure.. Waiter's comment that the kitchen is closing soon..eating took place on the terrace..not recommended.. Certainly interesting indoors but not Worth 200€😄but it was free because companies eat.

The evening was a bit of a disaster: the multi-course dinner (Le petit chef) was unfortunately a failure and not worth the high price. Although the restaurant gives the impression of being knowledgeable about roasting meat, our beef tenderloin was a blackened, chewy shoe sole. The next table with 6-8 people decided not to eat the main course and was offered espressos as “compensation”. Since we didn't feel like having discussions and such embarrassments, we let the uneaten plates speak for themselves. After clearing the last course we asked for the bill. Unfortunately, the service staff then disappeared, which is why we handed over the counted invoice amount in cash in the open kitchen. We ended up leaving the restaurant using a second set of stairs because the other set of stairs was covered in vomit from top to bottom. We felt sorry for the employee who had to clean up the disaster alone - she would certainly have liked to know why her colleagues had disappeared so suddenly. The fact that the path to the parking lot in an old factory building was dimly lit and didn't give the impression of being safe added a little thrill to this really bizarre evening.

An experience in a class of its own! The food was overwhelmingly good and the service was great! This is what you want in fine dining!

All around everything is just TOP! Great ambience. Food really, really good. But what really stands out is the service and the staff. Friendly, attentive and very child-friendly. We felt extremely comfortable and enjoyed the evening. We will come back and definitely recommend. Thanks to the whole team

Very tasty burgers, great ambience and an excellent service team. We recommend. We will be back. April 2024: The Grand Station cocktail bar right next to it is also a real eye-catcher and mixes great cocktails at really good prices.

Recommended for anyone who loves steak, although the burgers are also great. Price performance totally okay. We love this store
