The restaurant looked very inviting from the outside. The menu is extensive, making it hard to decide what to eat. The dishes were delicious, and the service was very friendly! I highly recommend this restaurant!

...we were there for dinner with 16 colleagues, there were no negative comments about the various dishes, I myself had an excellent steak, the portion was more than sufficient, I found the wine list to be very good, the service staff was friendly and quick...

We arrived at 5:15 pm and weren't greeted with the usual "We're still closed" because they don't open until 5:30 pm. Instead, we were cheerfully invited in and offered drinks. The rest of the service was very friendly and attentive. The food was excellent, and we received a complimentary amuse-bouche and a small dessert. A wonderful evening.

The amuse-bouche was a delicacy. The tomato soup as a starter was substantial and almost a small meal in itself. The student's skillet lived up to its name: plentiful in both quality and quantity. Everything was delicious and easy to digest! And the waitress was incredibly hospitable—thank you so much!

We were back today after a good year and were once again not disappointed. Incredibly friendly and approachable service. Highly recommended for a visit to the Harz Mountains! Old review... First and foremost, the incredibly friendly service team deserves special mention. Reservation with two dogs -> no problem; water for the dogs was a given, and a table in the corner so the dogs could have some peace and quiet... Lovely and communicative waitress at the table... Recommendations and then truly delicious food. All without long waits and in a truly pleasant atmosphere. We'd be happy to return sometime!

The venison and fillet steak were very good and cooked to perfection. The venison capacio starter was good, but I would have preferred a little more oil. Almost 10 euros for 0.25 liters of wine was still okay. Unfortunately, or fortunately for many others, the main course portions are huge. We only managed half. There are spreads with bread as an entrée and a welcome from the kitchen. It was tasty. Oh dear, and there was a free dessert that reminded me of Ehrmann yogurt. It wasn't necessary. The selection of good-quality fruit brandies is large. The espresso was 2-minus, but I'm spoiled. Be sure to make a reservation, as the restaurant closes relatively early at 9 p.m. The service was very friendly.

The staff was super friendly! Always a smile, and you felt welcome. We were there as a family with two children. Finally, there were kids' plates that didn't just consist of meat and fries, but also included vegetables...and the kids loved it :) We adults were also very satisfied; the meat was very high quality and cooked to perfection. We'll definitely be back next time we're in Clausthal-Zellerfeld.

I've traveled extensively throughout the country, so I hope you'll believe me when I say: The meat is truly top-notch. Not to mention, the salads are truly outstanding. There's something for every palate here, from slightly unusual dishes to hearty classics. The portions are also very satisfying, especially after a long hike. Of course, you'll pay a few more dollars here, but for the quality served here, it's absolutely good value and REALLY worth a visit. In any case, I left full, happy, and with hymns of praise on my lips.

It's especially great that they also serve vegetarian food. We'll be back.

The meat was of the highest quality, but unfortunately, my steak was amateurishly prepared. It certainly didn't look like the advertised beef, as it had no browning or roasting at all; it was pale, like it came from a steamer. And instead of medium, the entrecôte was unfortunately completely cooked. A shame. The beef tartar that preceded it was also of excellent quality. It's served already dressed. That's okay, but it would be nicer to see it on its own and to be able to add the other ingredients to taste.

Yes, it's chicly decorated, and the staff is very attentive and friendly. Prices are a bit on the high side, but the food is almost as good.

Excellent service, world-class quality We were at "Glückauf" again, this time with 10 guests. The service is simply fantastic and very friendly, there's a welcome from the kitchen, delicious salads to accompany it, and the meat is top-quality and can compete with the steaks from the USA and Canada that I regularly enjoy. Even the wives and children loved the steaks. The venison steaks are also highly recommended. At the end, everyone even got a delicious free snack. And last but not least, the craft beer is delicious...we'll be back.

5 stars for this establishment; there are still restaurants where the chefs and staff enjoy their work. A friendly welcome, a welcome from the kitchen in the form of a bread basket (the various dips were already on the table), followed by the ordered main course, and another welcome from the kitchen – beautifully presented – as a small dessert. Unfortunately, the salad wasn't to our taste (we didn't like the dressing), but everything else was delicious. The value for money is excellent. We'd happily return.

Quaint restaurant with fantastic meat dishes, as well as vegan and vegetarian options in the heart of Clausthal Zellerfeld.

Last Saturday, I sat with a friend in the beer garden of the Glückauf restaurant right in front of the Marktkirche and waited for service. After a while, when no one came to take our order, I went inside and wanted to order two coffees and two slices of cake. The lady at the counter replied: "I'm on my lunch break now!" Great... we couldn't have known, but they certainly could have communicated this differently. And if you don't want guests at 3:00 p.m., I would close the restaurant for the sake of simplicity, so no one gets on your nerves unnecessarily... One thing is definitely clear, though: as a local from Clausthal who wanted to show a visitor from Kiel my hometown and give them a nice afternoon, this restaurant is out of the question for me in the future. There are certainly other restaurants, and we found one... at the Handwerkerhof and its shops, you'll always receive a friendly welcome.

We were passing through and my son urgently needed to use the restroom. A child, mind you, asked to use the restroom himself and was dismissed with, "Then I'd like €2 from you, toilet paper and water cost." So rude and unfriendly!!! After I said I didn't have any money on me, he replied (I assume it was the owner, who was casually sitting at a table and continuing the conversation over his waitress) that I should go back to the car, where I should have money. If that's the kind of service customers experience there, I definitely wouldn't eat there. I can't recommend this restaurant under any circumstances. Turning a child away like that is a total disgrace!!! There's a kebab shop around the corner that even let my son use its private restroom, just like that. There are still nice people out there!

Very accommodating. The service and food were excellent. And very dog-friendly.

We spontaneously stopped in for lunch as a couple this weekend and enjoyed a beautiful outdoor seating in front of the historic Market Church. We were able to park for free right in front of the door. Very friendly service, and we were immediately treated to a delicious "greeting from the kitchen" consisting of rice and feta cheese! Wow! The main course was also very good! And for dessert, another special treat from the kitchen! Where else can you find something like that? But the interior of the restaurant is also super cozy, and the historic hall is a must-see. We can only give it 5 *****!

Very friendly and attentive staff; dishes that skillfully combine Mediterranean and regional influences; creative and delicious starters and desserts "on the house"; excellent main courses with generous portions, optionally with fresh chanterelle mushrooms in season. Not for bargain hunters or penny pinchers, but all prices are absolutely reasonable for the outstanding quality! Highly recommended!

A lady immediately showed us to our seats, and the evening, which had begun so beautifully, continued perfectly. The menu is truly extensive, and special meat dishes are repeatedly highlighted. We were offered the daily special and the option of having seasonal asparagus with all dishes; absolutely nothing was forgotten. The greeting from the kitchen was a poem and a perfect start to our dinner. The ladies who looked after us did an incredibly fantastic job; thank you so much for your dedication! The kitchen's performance absolutely deserves special mention! Classic local dishes prepared in a modern and extremely tasty way - plus impeccable service - what more could a guest want?! If we are ever in Clausthal-Zellerfeld again, another visit to Glück would definitely be on our agenda! Thank you very much for your work; you gave us a very pleasant evening.

When you're greeted so warmly at the entrance, the evening can only be wonderful. Great service, full of attentiveness and friendliness. We started with a small, delicious brunch from the kitchen and bread with various spreads. Our main courses were a real treat. A small sweet treat from the house rounded off our meal. The small greeting from the kitchen, which we received both before and after our main course, was particularly nice. The dishes were freshly prepared, tasty, and attractively presented. It was an all-round successful lunch, and we highly recommend the Glück-Auf restaurant. We will definitely be back! We were just thrilled! At the beginning we got an hors d’oeuvre on the house. And it was really just delicious. The lady who served us was very accommodating and friendly, stopping by every now and then to check whether everything was OK. Our main courses were also wonderful, we had nothing to complain about and at the end there was a bedside table on the house, peach-passion fruit yoghurt with a biscotti on top. The beer from the brewery was also delicious. We would come back here every time! Super!

There was a great resturante at 7. Ladies called there shortly before opening on Friday and got a table. The service was top notch, super nice, fast service, with Gudies there. The food was amazing and the large portion was completely ok for the price. We were all thrilled and would come back at any time. We can all highly recommend it.

In general, there was unfortunately far too little dip/sauce available, as this meal only consisted of “dry” things. Nevertheless, we would like to come back.

Inconspicuous from the outside and the beautiful hall not visible inside. Very cozy and with excellent cuisine. The service is friendly and professional. Anyone planning a wedding should definitely take a look at this hall. Great promotions and barbecue offers in summer. Whenever we are near the Harz, we always try to plan a visit. Priced to match the quality.

Great restaurant. Were there twice. Once for the delicious Christmas buffet and the second time a la carte. First of all, a nice greeting from the kitchen and a small dessert for everyone for free. Food was good. Service very accommodating. The house apologized for the loud and disruptive company with extremely loud children (and we have nothing against children at all) with a Prosecco on the house.

A very very nice restaurant with fantastic food and excellent and quick service. Dogs are welcome, the vegetarian food is varied and well prepared. Extra requests/menu changes are also no problem. We felt very comfortable and were happy to stay a little longer. We 2 people + 2 large dogs would love to come back!

At first we would be disappointed because our reservation for 14 people somehow fell through. But then: We were now standing in a full restaurant (two big Christmas parties) and had no seats. And now the following happened: The service staff reacted in a very friendly manner and did everything they could to accommodate us anyway. As in many reviews, the service is just incredibly professional and friendly!!! The food was also delicious! I/we will be back!

Here you can get top food at a reasonable price. Friendly service staff only bring good things to the table. I had an excellent meal and there was nothing missing. That's why I drove back to the area on November 1st, 2024 and of course reserved a table so that I could have another good meal. Our table was ready in the evening. A friendly service person presented the food to us and we were well looked after. A small appetizer was included Homemade bread was very good. The main course was brought twice because there was a Maleur! It can happen and we quickly received a replacement for the food. But from then on we were no longer treated very well! There was no longer any demand as at other tables as to whether it would taste good. A side dish was also missing and was delivered upon request! Somehow The situation here was too much for us. Even after the meal there was no encouragement from the house. Coffee and a liqueur were no longer available for the good house even after this incident with the meal, unfortunately. Conclusion after a first perfect meal there was a not pleasant culinary experience in the second round. Therefore the question is will there be a third time? It was probably bad luck that evening, after what had been a perfect day for us in the Harz Mountains. The non-existent reactions to this incident are simply unpleasant. There is definitely something that can be improved here, if that is what you want.

We were greeted with a greeting from the kitchen and the drinks came very quickly. The main courses we had, currywurst and wild currywurst, were very, very tasty. The decor of the restaurant was uniform and well maintained. We waited 15 minutes for the menu itself. The waitress rolled her eyes and looked at the children at the next table. My pasta with sauce was soup. My husband ordered the schnitzel, which was also very average, especially for the price.

I was there for lunch today. There was trout. As a coastal child, of course there has to be fish. My third day in the Harz. And what can I say? It couldn't be perfect, better or fresher. I went to the Harz specifically because of the trout. In addition, the restaurant is beautifully decorated.

We were here with 4 people. But we didn't eat anything, just drank something. The service was very nice and accommodating. But I “found” the real highlight in the basement: the large marble resin legend work of art! It's a shame that it's in the basement and you only see it when you go to the toilet!

Just wow! There were six of us and we were absolutely thrilled. The ambience exudes a perfect balance of modern elegance and a cozy, inviting atmosphere. We were particularly impressed by the friendly and attentive staff, who made the evening even better. The food was absolutely top notch and we were treated to loving greetings from the kitchen twice, in addition to the delicious, complimentary bread and dips. An all-round successful evening – simply a real highlight!

Carpaccio buried under a mountain of rocket, ok no shortage, but sometimes less is more. Venison veal bridge steak was well-done, even though it was ordered medium and medium-rare. The second attempt was hardly better. The Mediterranean vegetables were almost unseasoned. The homemade hash browns seemed more like flattened half and half dumplings. We felt a bit sorry for the very friendly service. The greetings from the kitchen (three different mousses) were served with a bent spoon.

Very nice atmosphere, nice and dedicated service and very good food. I enjoyed game dishes. Particularly original: the wild currywurst. By the way, the game comes from our own hunt. It couldn't be fresher or more sustainable. Same with beer. It is brewed in-house in our own brewery. We'd love to come back.
