Restaurant Flockenwerk in Ochsenfurt

We held our Christmas party at Flockenwerk this year, and it was simply wonderful – a fantastic location, super friendly service, and incredibly delicious food (especially the Silvaner soup :-) )... and thanks to Andreas's efforts at Terrior F, we also had superb catering, including one of the best mulled wine drinks we've had in the last few cold days. We'd love to come back! Thank you so much.

We visited the Flockenwerk restaurant for the first time. The service was relaxed and very pleasant. The food was delicious, and the prices were reasonable. A great atmosphere. We'll definitely be back.

I had a lovely dinner with a friend at Flockenwerk tonight. The food was, as always, extremely good and of a very high quality. The service was very attentive and friendly and fulfilled our every wish. I would definitely come back here anytime to enjoy another evening with good food.

The staff was incredibly friendly, the food was good, and the breakfast selection was almost endless! (However, I suspect that the nougat substitute [hazelnut cream]) which was labeled as Nutella wasn't actually Nutella, based on its texture and taste.) As lunch approached, the selection of main courses became much more limited. These were good, though some were a bit too "Christmasy" for my taste (e.g., gingerbread spice in the sauce), but that's just a matter of personal preference. We would definitely come back again sometime, as everything was delicious and the staff was first-class.

Everything here is just perfect. We were here today for my birthday breakfast, and it was the best breakfast buffet I've ever had. We received a warm welcome and were shown to our (reserved) table. We felt comfortable from the very first minute. The ambiance is fantastic, the tables are simply and beautifully set, and the service (Nicolas) was incredibly friendly, attentive, and professional. We felt completely at ease. The selection was unbelievable; there's truly nothing missing—everything your heart desires is there, and then some! ☺️ So, all in all, it's truly perfect and I would definitely recommend it. I'm already looking forward to the next time. Oh, and when your stomach is full, there are massage chairs upstairs! 😍😍😍 How amazing is that?!

A truly lovely restaurant with excellent food. We went for brunch on Sunday and thoroughly enjoyed it! The cinnamon cream with a small croissant is highly recommended. I especially enjoyed the sparkling wine served with us. There was a good and extensive selection of pastries, toppings, and side dishes. The ambiance was also wonderful, and the service was excellent with friendly staff.

We had breakfast with a huge, delicious selection, but as it approached 10 am, nothing was replenished and the clearing-up work began.

The food is good, but sometimes it takes a very long time to get served because there's often a long queue at the counter. The price-performance ratio is expensive.

An Evening Full of Anticipation – Ruined by a Disrespectful Boss We had reserved a table for seven people at 7:00 p.m. and wanted to enjoy the lovely evening with a meal together. We had no idea that the evening would end on such a sour note. There were already some issues when ordering, because I had chosen a set menu with two appetizers. Instead of a professional response, we were immediately told that the other guests would have to "wait a bit." A strange announcement, but we didn't let it spoil our mood. We placed our order at 7:30 p.m.: three asparagus cream soups, two more appetizers, and the aforementioned set menu. It took quite a while for the appetizers to arrive. After that, we moved inside, hoping for a more pleasant experience. We were sorely mistaken. The main courses arrived very late – in one case, not until 9:30 p.m. A simple salad as a main course after a two-hour wait is not only inappropriate, but downright unacceptable. Despite this, we remained friendly, ordered more drinks, chatted, and were in good spirits – until the owner, Mr. Bundschuh, approached our table. He reacted to our companion's politely expressed complaint about the excessive wait in a manner one would never expect in the restaurant industry. He said, and I quote: "If someone orders a set menu, they're king – everyone else is screwed." A tone and attitude that are simply disrespectful and arrogant. When our companion reacted indignantly to this curt response, Mr. Bundschuh completely lost his temper and shouted at her to leave the restaurant immediately – and that he never wanted to see her there again. At this point, our glasses were still full, the meal hadn't been finished, and dessert was still missing. Without another word, the server came and collected all the payments – quite obviously on orders. We finished our meal in a very somber mood, ate dessert, and left the restaurant. The evening we had been looking forward to was ruined by a manager who apparently can neither handle criticism nor respond to it professionally. We've made up our minds: We'll never come back – and we advise anyone who values ​​hospitality to find another restaurant.

We were there for the first time today. Wow...the menu was different than usual, but the food was super good. All the waiters were very, very good. It was a lovely, fun evening. We'll be back.

We were referred to the Flockenwerk by our hotel in Reichenberg – and what luck! Even though we arrived on a Friday evening without a reservation, we were immediately seated at a wonderful table for two right by the window overlooking the Main River. The welcome was warm, and the ambiance was exceptionally harmonious and cozy. The staff were consistently friendly and attentive, but never intrusive. The drinks arrived quickly, and the main course was simply fantastic – perfectly flavorful, beautifully presented, and top-quality. Overall, we had a truly lovely evening in a relaxed atmosphere. A huge compliment to the entire team – everything is just right here!

The welcome was incredibly warm and friendly, and the service continued throughout the evening (despite the packed house). Ultimately, this contributed significantly to the four of us having a thoroughly enjoyable evening. The food (ox cheeks, burgers, burrata with octopus, and ice cream for dessert) was perfect and very tasty. All of this, combined with the pleasant ambiance, made for a perfectly rounded evening.

We were here for à la carte dining, and the food was truly delicious—fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. There's nothing to complain about. The service from the staff was fine, friendly, and attentive. However, the kitchen couldn't keep up at all. We had to wait over an hour and 30 minutes for our main course, which is simply too long—especially when dining à la carte. The prices are generally reasonable for the quality of the food, but with such long waits, the overall price is unfortunately not worth it. It's a shame, because with a better-organized kitchen, this restaurant would truly be a highlight.

Six of us dined at the Flockenwerk in Ochsenfurt on Saturday evening, October 11, 2025. (Reservations required). We received a very friendly welcome and were seated. The table was beautifully decorated for autumn. Due to a lack of staff, serving our orders took a little longer. But our cheerful, witty waiter, David, made an excellent effort to fulfill our (extra) requests. It was a humorous and successful evening.

We went to Flockenwerk for brunch today and were thrilled. The food was incredibly delicious and the service was impeccable. The waitress, in particular, was extremely well-organized and explained the brunch schedule perfectly. We'll definitely be back soon!

The service was very slow, and repeated requests at long intervals were unfortunately necessary. The wait for the food was very long. The portion of venison was a joke for the price. It was two thin strips of fillet. Unfortunately disappointing for the most expensive item on the menu. The ambiance, however, was beautiful.

We were at Flockenwerk again yesterday. It was fantastic again. Anyone who wants to treat themselves to a lovely evening with unusual food, a beautiful ambiance, and friendly staff should go there. I'm already looking forward to the next time.

We always loved coming here – but since the kitchen changed (we asked the service), it has unfortunately declined considerably. The wait times are far too long (last time, 2 hours), and the quality of the food isn't up to par. With the service, you're either totally lucky or not so lucky. The prices are simply too high these days. It's a shame! This is our second negative experience and unfortunately, we won't be coming back.

Flockenwerk was our caterer at our wedding, and we were absolutely thrilled! Communication beforehand was easy, and the food selection was enormous. Since my husband is a hunter, they even used our own game. Absolutely brilliant! We had an appetizer, main course, dessert, and a midnight buffet. Both we and our guests thought the buffet was absolutely fantastically prepared and absolutely delicious! Andreas and his team are always in a good mood, very professional, and truly heartfelt! We can wholeheartedly recommend Flockenwerk and would book them again anytime! Thank you so much, dear Andreas, for spoiling us with culinary delights on our big day! It was a celebration! Beef variations at their best! My beef short ribs were sensational with an excellent red wine reduction and perfect jacket potatoes and wild broccoli! Highly recommended! My four friends each ordered a different dish and were equally thrilled!

You shouldn't make a reservation; it's easier to leave the restaurant. The short, young waitress can't manage to get a drinks menu within 15 to 20 minutes. She wouldn't have a future in my business!!! The service at the Hotel Meintz, on the other hand, is simply commendable.

Highly recommended. The price-performance ratio is also very good 👍. Now comes the whining at a high level: the service employee (in training) delivered our orders to the neighboring table more than once. Therefore, it doesn't get the full number of stars. Nevertheless, we will return. It's simply too good for that.

Decided on the Flickenwerk on a short trip. Great location on the Main River. Super friendly chef, super friendly, professional staff. We had three delicious courses. The portions were more than adequate, and the price was totally reasonable for what you get. It hasn't been this good for a long time; the food is fresh and delicious. 😋

Top wedding venue. From the smooth preparation, to the excellent service, the highly praised food, and the beautiful and stylish atmosphere, we are completely thrilled and say THANK YOU. We celebrated with 85 people, started with coffee and cake on the terrace, had dinner in the conservatory, and danced on the dance floor and at the bar until late into the night.

We enjoyed the catering from Flockenwerk for our summer party. The food: 10/10. I've rarely eaten so well. A huge mix of salads, cold appetizers, juicy and tender grilled meats, and plenty of vegetarian delicacies. The service: 11/10. ;) We highly recommend the team! We went for dinner. The food was good, but the modern air conditioning wasn't activated, even though the temperature in the dining room felt like 38 degrees Celsius. We left the restaurant after an hour, drenched in sweat, with the recommendation that the dining room climate be improved in the future. It's also about the health of the guests.

Good food with great service and a view of the Main.

The location is good. The service was friendly, but a bit clumsy. The fish curry was missing the shrimp, and the sea bass and zander were dead; they had been cored at over 60 degrees. The other dish wasn't particularly good either.

We went for breakfast yesterday for the second time. In March, everything was great, and yesterday it was a flop. The quality of the food has deteriorated, and there wasn't even a proper orange juice. The service was so bad, they didn't clear the table, or they couldn't find our table. It was nothing like the first time. It's a real shame.

Food and service are very good; we will be back

We wanted to reserve a table for dinner on a Sunday around 3 p.m. Two young employees stood a meter away from us, the counter between us. No "Hello" or "I'll be right with you." We were simply ignored while the two engaged in animated conversation while taking care of small tasks. After a few minutes, we left. Very unprofessional, especially in times of a shortage of skilled workers. We were actually quite satisfied here in the past. Then, not so much.

This was the second time we've been to Flockenwerk for dinner with four people. Both times, the food was excellent. Kudos to the kitchen. 👍🏻 The service is very attentive and always very friendly. The chef always makes every effort to ensure that all guests are completely satisfied. A true restaurateur. 👍🏻 If we're in the area, we'll be happy to come back.

We celebrated our wedding here. The staff was fantastic, as was the food. The adjoining room was perfect for our 25 guests, and all our requests were accommodated flexibly and promptly. We're already looking forward to our next visit.

The food was okay, but the quantity and price didn't really match up. The location was stylish, but not particularly inviting. The staff was friendly and attentive, but it seemed to me that there were quite a few temporary employees working there.

While passing through, we stopped for a break at the RV parking lot in front of the restaurant. We had the best ice cream of our lives! The atmosphere is very relaxed...maybe not everyone can handle that! Modern, clean ambiance. Also great for sitting outside!

We were there for a family celebration. Roast beef was overcooked and the portion was too small. The snacks were left in the sun and were already being eaten by flies. Price/performance ratio for the portion of roast beef was outrageous. I cannot recommend it. Conditions were sometimes too much.

We have been to the Flackenwerk several times now, both for coffee/cake, as well as at a wedding and for regular dinner. It was great every time! The food is very, very tasty and the portions are decent. Small but nice bonus: The boss always comes by all the tables, greets the people and asks if everything is to their satisfaction. We think it’s a great gesture! :-) We'd love to come back.

This is not restaurant although it says Restaurant in their name. Just a coffee place until 17:00. Then their restaurant parts opens. In case you drive by and want to eat something, don’t come here. And although i told the lady that they need to update their google definition (otherwise people may drive here to expect a lunch), she behaved stubborn and said no our website is correct. !:(

This was my second time at the Flackenwerk for breakfast. Last time there was still the option to choose and different prices, so now it's a buffet and a flat rate of 23.50€€€! The buffet is then spread over 4 tables, a counter with spreads, sausages, cheese, fruit and yoghurt. 1 egg table (raw eggs have to be cooked here!), cold drinks at the counter, bread elsewhere. Even though this of course spreads out the people, it seems cobbled together. By the way, bread offer: mini croissants, each light and grainy baguette, mini grain rolls and 1 retail bread - well. The price includes 1 Secco, which everyone would have to drink at least to get something close to the flat rate price. Coffee/tea, drinks are bottomless. Just drink a lot ;-) In any case, I miss the loving etagere with breakfast for 2 people.

Went there for coffee on Sunday from 2 p.m., the line in front of the cake counter stretched through half the restaurant! Had to wait in line for about 25 minutes?! I couldn't even think of a second coffee! Maybe you should rethink the concept, it doesn't work that way!

Have been there for dinner and now also for breakfast. Basically not bad, but simply poor value for money. If you deducted 3 to 5 € everywhere it wouldn't be as bad. Dinner was tasty and good, but just a few euros too expensive. When it comes to breakfast, I'm not prepared to pay €23.50 for the selection and quality on offer. What doesn't work at all are the scrambled eggs (some kind of inedible egg mixture, but it has nothing to do with scrambled eggs). Before you serve something like that, it's better not to do anything at all. You have to be lucky when it comes to service, most of them are friendly, but there are also some who have no business being in service.

Great restaurant in Ochsenfurt with fine cuisine. A great ambience was conjured up from the old shabby building. Above all, the seasonal offers are surprisingly good.

Great ambience with a large floor-to-ceiling glass front. Sufficiently comfortable seating, bright and modern furnishings.

Im liebevoll umgebaut und eingerichteten ehemaligen Kartoffelflockenwerk wurden wir überaus freundlich empfangen. An einem schön eingedeckten Tisch wurde uns gleich zum fränkischen Haussecco der Gruß aus der Küche (Humus mit diversen frischen Brotsorten) serviert. Als Vorspeisen folgten Rotkohlslaw, Garnelen und Pimientos auf hübsch angerichteten Tellern. Zur Hauptspeise aßen wir die Ochsenbacke (war "mit dem Löffel" zu schneiden), das Roastbeef (auf den Punkt rosa), den Wolfsbarsch (auf Haut gebraten mit ausgezeichnetem Orangenrisotto) und Burger (saftig!, die Trüffelmayo zu den Pommes vorzüglich). Alle Hauptspeisen waren mehr als reichlich und von knackigem Gemüse begleitet. Der aufmerksame Service sorgte für stets gefüllte Gläser (vielfältige regionale und internationale Weine sowie Biere von lokalen Brauereien). Zum Dessert konnten wir leider "nur" noch Eis und Sorbet genießen (u.a. Kamille-gesalzener Honig). Wir waren mit dem fürsorglichen Personal und den fein abgeschmeckten Gerichten sehr zufrieden und kommen gerne wieder.
