Right on the harbor promenade. Very friendly staff. The dishes are prepared really tasty. Not a cheap snack bar, but an upscale restaurant with some prominence in the past. We'll come back here. You should reserve in advance.

First-class sole and gourmet plaice eaten with an excellent accompanying Pinot Gris. Service was very attentive and friendly. We have been going here for 30 years and have never been disappointed.

We were there today with the family including two small children. A very, very good service & good food (veggie was also available). We felt very comfortable. The children spent the short waiting time in the adjacent play area. Thank you for the super friendly service and the family-friendly atmosphere.

Gutes Essen jedoch Portionsgröße für den Preis leider nicht gerechtfertigt. Tagliatelle mit 7 Gambas für 35 Euro finde ich schon recht stattlich. Da ich von der Portionsgröße leider nicht satt wurde, habe ich mir noch eine Kartoffelsuppe mit Krabben bestellt welche mich jedoch geschmacklich leider nicht überzeugt hat. Personal ist dort sehr nett und zuvorkommend-da kann man sich nicht beschweren.

During our short vacation, we went to the Fischkiste two evenings in a row. We enjoyed it last year so much that we were there again this year. Great food in a pleasant atmosphere.

Das war rundherum NICHTS! Bestellung mit dem Hinweis auf einen Geburtstag. Der Eingangsmensch fragte dann auch beflissen, wer denn Geburtstag habe, um dann vollmundig zu erklären, dass "man etwas vorbereitet" habe. Die Vorbereitung bestand dann darin, dass wir einen Tisch bekommen haben in einem Teil der Restauration, der eine Lufttemperatur nahe einem Saunagang auswies. Nach der Bestellung von Vorspeise, Hauptspeise und Getränken kam dann zunächst die Vorspeise, ohne dass von Getränken etwas zu sehen war. Die Dame, die dann irgendwann mit den Getränken aufschlug und sah, dass wir die Vorspeisen schon fast vertilgt hatten, fand kein Wort der Entschuldigung oder Erklärung für diese etwas ungewöhnliche Reihenfolge. Im Hintergrund konnten wir dann - das war spannend - miterleben, wie eine Kellnerin erkennbar genervt mit ihren Kollegen schimpfte und dauernd etwas zum Meckern hatte. Erfreulicherweise war die Qualität des Essens erträglich, ohne dass das den megaenttäuschenden Abend retten konnte. Wir bekamen dann mit, dass an den anderen Tischen den zahlenden Gästen noch einen Hausschnaps oder einen Kaffee angeboten wurde, das wurde bei uns .... vergessen? Oder war diese Abfuhr das, was man für den Geburtstag vorbereitet hatte? Sorry, trotz des erträglichen Essens für die Zukunft ein absolutes NoGo, dieses Lokal hat den Abstieg zu einer Touristenschwemme mit lustlosem Personal perfekt hinbekommen.

Fish restaurant at the harbor on the street. Everyone who had rank and name was probably already here. 2:30 p.m. in March we got a seat straight away. Service was super pleasant, friendly and attentive. 1. Simple dish Panfish with fried potatoes The fried potatoes were only lukewarm, the fish, on the other hand, was fried to perfection and hot, the mustard sauce was very good, almost too strong. 2. Simple dish of fine fish cake with potato salad. The meatball was really nothing, totally dry and tasteless. Price €€€.

If fish then fish box... Very tasty but quality has its price. The service was friendly and helpful. We sat in the covered terrace by the window, which has a bit of a Baltic Sea feeling, but not exaggerated. Looking out the window you don't really see much of the lake, but rather a crowded sidewalk with tourists and cars stuck in traffic... But the restaurant can't do anything about that. All in all, highly recommended for a very short lunch break with high standards...

If you want to eat fish directly on the Baltic Sea, the fish box is recommended! We are “repeat offenders”. Nothing more needs to be said! Go there and form your own opinion!

The food was excellent, the staff was very attentive and the restaurant was excellently organized. It was a wonderful evening.

Frozen food at high prices. We ate the plaice fillet gourmet style and were wondering what was so good about it. The soggy plaice was barely visible under the panate's flour mush, as were the shriveled crabs. Frozen spinach and hollandaise sauce from the bag made it all cafeteria food. A small bowl of pasta for two people, the guest at the next table received the same portion of pasta for one dish. The boss is aware of this because he asked us if we really liked it after we didn't want to be rude and answered good. At least he was very friendly and immediately recommended something for us to eat there again. But we will no longer use the offer, for us it is more of an illusion than reality and a rip-off. Opposite directly at the harbor at Klüvers it tastes better and you sit directly at the harbor.

Simply sensational, food, ambience, service - and also the price/performance ratio! Best fish & chips ever! Always worth a trip!

Hatten dort das Schollenfillet mit Krabben und Spinat. Angeblich Gourmet. Aber war durch den gefühlt einen Liter Sauce Hollandaise oben darüber völlig "abgesoffen". Weniger wäre da mehr. Ansonsten wie Immer Topp.

We went there twice for dinner while on vacation and were completely satisfied. The food tasted excellent and the price/performance ratio is very good. The portions are large. The service was very friendly and that was the case with all employees. The atmosphere is authentic and cozy. If you want to eat good fish, a clear recommendation.

Service very courteous and attentive. Junior and senior do the honors. I like family-run restaurants. The attention to detail is not only noticeable in the wine selection. My wife had the curry and I had the fish platter. Both dishes were very tasty. Gladly again and again.

The Fischkiste in Niendorf treated us to an exceptional lunch that we will remember for a long time. From start to finish, our visit was a real treat for all the senses. The dishes we ordered - North Sea crabs, spicy shrimps and the fish platter with potatoes - were all of outstanding quality. The North Sea crabs were so fresh, as if they had just been taken from the sea, and their taste was simply indescribable. The spicy prawns were also perfectly prepared and offered a pleasant spiciness that tickled the palate without being too dominant. The fish platter was a fish lover's delight, with a diverse selection of freshly caught fish cooked to perfection. The potatoes served with it were crispy and rounded off the dish perfectly. In addition to the excellent food, the wonderful ambience of the restaurant also contributed to a successful day. The furnishings are tasteful and create a cozy atmosphere in which you immediately feel at home. However, what really made our visit an unforgettable experience was Ms. J's excellent service. Her advice was competent and helpful, and she addressed all of our needs. Their kindness and attentiveness were remarkable and contributed significantly to making us feel completely comfortable and welcome. We would like to thank Ms. J. and the entire Fischkiste team for this wonderful day. We would be happy to come back and recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a first class dining experience.

Hier kann man wirklich gut Fisch essen. Na gut, es ist nicht wirklich billig, aber man bekommt auch ordentliche Portionen in erstklassiger Qualität für sein Geld. Sehr bemühtes Personal. Schönes Ambiente, wir bekamen extra einen Tisch mit Hafenblick aber nicht an der Fensterscheibe reserviert. Immer sehr voll. Reservierung dreingen angeraten.

The taste was ok, but lukewarm and the lentils tasted just like they came from a can. The ambience is actually nice, but the tablecloth is dirty, the ceiling light above the table is dusty and has cobwebs. Service was nice, but it couldn't be much worse. We weren't even asked if we wanted something to drink. Wine glasses and water bottle were empty. Don't come back.

I have known the restaurant for decades and the three generations of management, all of whom do/have done an outstanding job and, in addition to the always friendly staff, also personally take care of the guests' concerns. The food is always delicious and freshly prepared and I appreciate that there are certain dishes that have been consistently on the menu for decades and that I enjoy eating again and again. I felt very comfortable here as a child and my children do too because of the family-friendly atmosphere. On June 29th My son celebrated his 15th birthday here and the current owner and his staff made sure that we had a great evening with lots of special attention, for which we would like to thank you again!!! Whenever we are on vacation in Niendorf (unfortunately not as often as before), we definitely come back again and again and we have already recommended the restaurant to many friends who were also very satisfied.

Das Restaurant ist schon recht hochpreisig. Dafür gibt es aber top Qualität. Excellenter Fisch und leckere Beilagen. Die Bratkartoffeln waren super knusprig, die Saucen sehr lecker und auch das Risotto war sehr gut. Dazu eine sehr nette und aufmerksame Bedienung. Wir waren zufrieden.

If you order two of the same dishes, you will be given a bowl of fried potatoes. The fried potatoes were partly black. The fish itself was okay. A Prosecco is sold to you as Brut sparkling wine. There were problems with the billing, you are forced to pay the bill together. Changing from cash to card payment also caused problems for the waiter. Otherwise the staff was slightly overwhelmed. The ambience was more of a chip shop and chic. You only get the bill if you ask several times.

The plaice had no taste, was expensive and the potato salad that came with it was swimming in mayonnaise!! We have been coming to the Fischkiste for many years, but we have never had such a bad experience as today! Has the chef changed?? 😱

A restaurant with a view of the harbor and the proximity to the harbor is noticeable stylistically ;-) The audience tends to be older and well-heeled. The price is rather higher. But culinary impeccable and very good quality. And to refute a previous recession of "reheated fried potatoes", if you have no idea just shut up. These are fried potatoes made from pre-cooked potatoes and not raw ones! The staff is very friendly and helpful, the furnishings may not be the latest, but they are clean and tidy and not as fancy as they often are these days. Judging by the name, the menu is very seafood-focused, but even non-fish eaters will still find a meat alternative (albeit a few).

The fish box is really worth a visit. Although the prices are a little higher than elsewhere, it is worth the money. The staff is very friendly and attentive.

Top Fischrestaurant mit angemessenen Preisen. Sehr aufmerksame und nette Bedienung. Der vordere Bereich des Restaurants erinnert ein bisschen an den Film Rossini. Wenn man den Bildern auf dem Weg zur Toilette glauben darf, herrscht hier hin und wieder eine höhere Promidichte. Alles, was wir bisher dort an Fisch verzerrt haben, war 1A zubereitet und schmeckte ausgezeichnet. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

We were able to make a reservation via the website at very short notice in June. There we were presented with incredibly delicious fish dishes. The tuna was a dream, a light, delicious crust and incredibly tender on the inside. With crunchy wok vegetables and sweet potato puree...wonderfully light. The baked plaice with leaf spinach and pasta was noticeably "stronger", but still very pleasantly fresh - unfortunately no photo of it ;). I can only recommend the original, regional family restaurateurs! I was incredibly impressed by the extremely nice and typically “Nordic” way, we need more of it! Even we as Berliners with our “cheeky lips” have to take our hats off to so much passion and enthusiasm in the service to guests and the elegance in dealing with even difficult guests. I can only advise the owner to keep this employee warm! All I can say about the prices is that they are absolutely reasonable and understandable. TYPICALLY REGIONAL, HONEST & FRESH! Decent food, but the quantity you are getting for the massive prices is anything but satisfactory, in fact we started looking for something else right after we left as most of us were still hungry. If you are after reasonable bang for your buck look elsewhere, we are not coming back.

A traditional fish restaurant with a great selection of fish and meat. A large winter garden with ventilation and a retractable roof is available. The quality of the food is always excellent and the service is competent and courteous. We'd love to come back. Therefore 5 stars

Yesterday we wanted to go for a drink at 10:10 p.m. after a concert with four people in the Fischkiste. The waitress said that just having a drink wouldn't be a problem in general, but she had to ask first if it wasn't too late. We were then turned away on the grounds that it was too late. In general, of course, every restaurant owner can decide for themselves when. However, if the door says open until 11 p.m., I think you should stick to that.

My favorite restaurant on the Baltic Sea! First, a walk from Timmendorf to Niendorf, a tour of the small harbor and then feasting in the fish box. Heart, what do you want more!

Real talk: Offering a 0.99 euro bagutte as a starter for 8 euros is cheeky, especially without any decoration on the plate. Awkward. The “Feinschmecker” plaice fillet was drowned in hollondaise from the supermarket, including the plaice and spinach from the freezer. You could only imagine the crabs but you couldn't taste them. Price/performance a farce. Sorry, but the fish box could do better. By the way, service was great.

Great location right on the harbor, nice attentive staff, very tasty food and it comes hot to the table. Top. We had 3x fish and 1x Wiener schnitzel. Plus fruity rosé wine. Price/performance top. Can only be recommended.

Our first but certainly not last visit. We reserved seats online and were warmly welcomed. Courteous service, cozy atmosphere. First of all, fish soup and crab soup were top quality and taste. As a main course, Niendorfer Pannfisch and cutter plaice with bacon - both a delight. Fried potatoes were excellent. Portion size also very good. Absolute recommendation!

We have known this restaurant for years and have often had good meals. But on May 1st my panfish was an imposition. It was supposed to be redfish, but it was a solid white fillet. In my opinion, more like pangasius fillet. The highlight was the warmed fried potatoes. For me it was the last visit.

Although I was impressed by the service and ambience, I'm still giving my review with a focus on the food, since that's why I was there. My redfish was boring, the bit of tartar sauce was almost tasteless and the fried potatoes were too salty. The whole thing cost 35 euros. Ok, Niendorfer Hafen is a little more expensive, but in my opinion the price/performance ratio doesn't match. Unfortunately, next time I will want to choose a different restaurant.

Yes, you can really only give the full 🌟 number. The meal was a pleasure from A to Z. It's been a long time since I've eaten such a good red perch and the fried potatoes with the mustard sauce, which were perfectly prepared for me. Service was very courteous and quick to take the order. All in all a successful lunch. Price performance is also okay. Perfect.

It wasn't our first time eating there. We can fully recommend this restaurant to everyone. It's the best fish restaurant in the area and it's freshly cooked, top notch cuisine. The atmosphere is appealing, quiet, the staff is super friendly, not intrusive, but very attentive and fond of children and the price/performance ratio is also right. Even the boss greets you. We have always reserved online in advance because it is always very busy. We will be back.

We are just thrilled. My wife had the redfish, I had the prawns “spicy”. Since I like spicy food, I ordered the prawns extra spicy with lots of garlic. It was perfect. The spiciness and the taste. The service was extremely attentive and very friendly. We look forward to the next visit 😊

Ich war hier kürzlich mit einer kleinen Gruppe zum Essen und kann berichten, dass die Gerichte zwar allesamt sehr nett zubereitet und schmackhaft waren, ABER die Preise, die dort inzwischen "aufgerufen" werden sind VÖLLIG überzogen und gehen WEIT über die bekannten Preissteigerungen hinaus.

A visit to the fish box in Niendorf is simply a fantastic experience. The food (I had a huge Niendorfer cutter plaice) was simply brilliant. The service was extremely friendly, courteous and competent (we received comprehensive advice on celiac disease, which affects my wife). Our special thanks go to Mr. Schank, who served us excellently. In my opinion, the Fischkiste is one of the best restaurants in the Bay of Lübeck, if not beyond. Thanks to the whole team.
