We had a wonderful evening at Erkelenz yesterday with our girls' group! The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The service was excellent and very friendly, and thanks to Susi (Schatzi), who provided us with cold drinks, it was also exceptionally fun! Best, Astrid and the girls

We ate at Ercklentz for the first time on an early Friday evening. I was a bit disappointed 😞. The service was attentive but not sufficiently helpful. My mother had the burger 🍔. She ordered mayonnaise, which was never served but was listed on the bill. I had the fish with saffron risotto. The fish and meat were very good. But the risotto was overcooked. I mentioned this when paying, and it was tolerated. I had actually expected something different for such an expensive meal. What a shame.

The good news first: our meal was delicious, had a convincing flavor with many well-matched flavors, and was very attractively presented... Definitely a reason to come back! BUT: The wait for the appetizer (bread, dip, olives) was almost 40 minutes, far too long for a Saturday lunchtime at 12:00 PM. We were particularly irritated by the different portion sizes of the same dish (roast beef, fried potatoes, salad). One portion contained 9 large slices of roast beef, the other 6 small slices of roast beef, even though we hadn't ordered a senior's plate or a small portion. Perhaps experience shows that women eat smaller portions. Nevertheless, for the same price, the same amount of the dish should be on the plate, or it should be clarified BEFORE serving whether a smaller portion at a lower price is desired. This is standard practice in many restaurants, as is the weight of the expected amount of meat or fish. There's room for improvement in terms of service and customer focus. Despite these criticisms, we'll be back, as the food was truly delicious and the chef impressed us.

Dinner for four. Ordered à la carte, no special requests. After a two-hour wait, still no main course! Even the starter arrived very late, after many tables whose guests had arrived later than us had already been served. When we asked about the progress of the main courses almost two hours after our arrival, we were told it was because of the starter. This had caused us to slip back in the order queue. However, other tables were served before us, even after starters. Not a credible argument; it makes you feel like you're being taken for a fool. We left the restaurant without a main course. Major organizational and communication problems! Not recommended, especially not when you're hungry.

On our way back from the Krickenbeck Lakes, we stumbled upon this place purely by chance and were absolutely thrilled. The ravioli were the best I've ever had in a restaurant. The burger and fries were also absolutely fantastic. The service was very attentive, so we'll definitely be back if we ever find ourselves in Kempen again.

Nevertheless, the dishes were generously sized to ensure everyone was satisfied. We were there for the first time and had come from Cologne. The six of us sat nicely indoors and had ordered an antipasti plate as a starter and no elaborate main courses (curry sausage with fries, pike-perch fillet with potatoes and oven-roasted vegetables and asparagus with salmon and potatoes. However, we had to wait just over two hours for these, without a status message coming in between, let alone asking for new drinks. The plates were then nicely arranged, the temperature... well and that Quality was delicious, but nothing that blew us away after the wait.

The food at Haus Ercklenz was once again fresh and delicious. Today we ordered the rhubarb tiramisu for dessert. It was delicious, but we miss the Baileys tiramisu. Hopefully, it will be back on the menu soon. It was a lovely evening in a friendly atmosphere.

The food was amazing, beautifully presented, and very tasty! The service is perfect: friendly, attentive, but not intrusive. Just what you'd expect. We were there a second time recently and were absolutely thrilled again. Even though we've lived relatively close by for a long time, we hadn't heard of it until then. It's also very nice and cozy! Four of us were at the Ercklentz Restaurant for Valentine's Day. We were assigned a table in the Stübchen (a very nicely redesigned area of ​​the restaurant). We spent a very nice evening there with a fantastic meal. Particularly worthy of mention was the menu offered for Valentine's Day. Like the other dishes, it was super tasty. The dishes were beautifully presented and served hot by attentive service. We felt very comfortable there all around. It was a perfect evening. We'll be back. :-)

On February 15th the restaurant was actually very busy and the service took a little longer than usual. But the friendly Service Kraft had already communicated this in advance - so no problem👍 As always, the food was excellent and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. If you leave negative reviews here, you should probably just go to the kebab shop - the food is guaranteed to be there in 10 minutes😉

We were there during the St. Valentine holidays and the restaurant was super busy, a lot of people. During the trips, in a new city, it is the first sign that helps you to understand that the quality of the food and service would be at the good level. Eventhough we had to wait a bit longer for our food and drinks (we were told in advance about it), it did not spoil our overall experience. The most important thing - the food was very tasty, ambiance is nice, and service was at the top level. I would recommend it !

Unfortunately an absolute disappointment. The service left a lot to be desired - we had to wait a full 20 minutes before anyone even took our order. The drinks also came way too late and the waitress kept making us sit for a long time with empty glasses. We were only able to order more after asking several times, but it took another half an hour until the drinks finally arrived. The food was a disaster. We waited over an hour and a half for three dishes. When we asked if it would take a long time because otherwise we would have to cancel and just pay for the drinks, we were told several times “It will come immediately”. In the end we would have been better off canceling it. The quality was poor: the fries were almost raw, the veal was far too brown and definitely not freshly breaded. The steak, which was ordered rare, arrived almost cooked through. Absolutely unacceptable for the long waiting time and the price. We definitely won't eat here again.

We were warmly welcomed here and our dog was immediately welcomed and given a bowl of fresh water. Class! The food was exceptional, the veal liver was tender as butter, with crispy onions, glazed apples, homemade puree and two wonderfully spicy sauces - a dream! It was my second time with you and I have to say that I felt completely at home in the warm and comfortable ambience and in general the restaurant is kept in an old style and modern at the same time. What I was most happy about was that we didn't have a table reservation. (Everything was fully booked) and with a little waiting time we were able to get a table there 😇. “Luck was probably on our side!” The staff was very friendly and served us with the utmost warmth. I didn't have the slightest feeling of something fake just because it had to be straight. We didn't have to wait 20 minutes for the food. Not to mention the drinks, which were prepared for us straight away despite the hut being full. The food was really great for the price/performance ratio. I would love to come by more often. I went there for the first time yesterday with my wife. We originally wanted to go to La Piazza, didn't get a table there and then happened to notice Erklentz. Conclusion: Perfect. The food was TOP, the service was super friendly and the atmosphere was more than appealing. We will definitely come back.

Yesterday we had lunch as a couple in this beautiful restaurant for the first time. Both the starter (antipasti plate for two) and the main course (goose leg with red cabbage and loos) were unbeatably delicious. The meal was accompanied by a dry white wine. Particularly worth mentioning is the very friendly, courteous and always extremely helpful restaurant team. The food portions were completely sufficient, delicious and very creatively and appetizingly prepared. The chef also took time to talk to us. I can 100% recommend the food, the very warm service and the ambience of this restaurant. We would love to come back and let the restaurant team spoil us deliciously. A big thank you to the entire team!!!

The Erckelentz restaurant in Kempen's pedestrian zone is modernly furnished. The atmosphere is cozy and the interior is harmoniously coordinated. The restaurant has 2 entrances. The food was delicious. The price-performance ratio was not entirely appropriate for our dish. A complaint about the food was resolved immediately. We were offered a hot drink as an apology. The service is friendly, but could be a little more attentive. It was our first time there and we will give the really nice restaurant another chance.

Der Gruß aus der Küche, wenn man Lachs mag einfach klasse, das Brot mit dem Dip super lecker, Königsberger Klopse endlich mal pfiffig gemacht und auch top im Geschmack. Da nur noch eine Portion da war, habe ich Currywurst bestellt auch alles echt Spitze, die Sauce einfach genial. Gehört zu den Besten die ich je gegessen habe. Haben trotzdem alles schnell und frisch zubereitet bekommen. Wir kommen wieder wenn wir dort sind!

We had pumpkin soup as a starter. Unfortunately there was a piece of plastic in mine. Was told to the waitress. There was no apology from the restaurant management. You were still allowed to pay for the soup. We had to wait over an hour for the main course.

Sehr aufmerksam und angenehm. Das Essen war geschmacklich und auch optisch sehr gut! Die Gänsekeule kann ich absolut empfehlen. Lediglich bei dem Espresso hinterher gibt es einen Abzug in der B-Note. Der war leider nur lauwarm. Ansonsten war es wirklich sehr schön! Wir kommen wieder

Im Vorfeld haben wir über einen persönlichen Termin uns die Räumlichkeiten (in der oberen Etage - für etwas mehr Privatsphäre) anschauen dürfen und kleinere Details wurden besprochen, wie der Ablauf. Kurz vor der Hochzeit fand per Mail nochmal eine detaillierte Menüabstimmung statt. Beide Inhaber waren jederzeit für Fragen per Mail offen. Am Tag der Hochzeit hat alles den vorher besprochen Details entsprochen! Der Tisch war sehr schön eingedeckt, das Essen super lecker und der Service war sehr freundlich. Wir haben uns dort rund um wohlgefühlt! Vielen Dank, dass ihr unsren Tag so toll abgerundet habt!

We stopped by spontaneously today and were incredibly lucky to get a table without a reservation. Next time I will make a reservation. The food was incredibly good, fresh and, important to me, it was served hot. The service was very friendly and pleasant. We also liked the ambience and especially the cleanliness. For us the visit was worth a full 5 stars!!!

Be careful when celebrating on site! We wanted to celebrate our wedding in Ercklentz at the beginning of October. We contacted Mr. Ebbinghaus about this in June and discussed with him what possibilities and options we had (rent the entire restaurant; just part of it, etc.). For us, the option of celebrating there all day (our wedding was at 10:30 a.m.) and having the option of a party in the evening was the most attractive. Mr. Ebbinghaus said that he would calculate €100 per person for drinks for the day - he estimated the food and champagne reception at around €4,500 At lunchtime we would have been guests with 37 people - in the evening with around 50 people. Mr. Ebbinghaus estimated that we would get by with a total of €8,000-9,000. We decided to think about this and give feedback via email. A few days later we said yes - we wanted to rent the restaurant for the whole day and received confirmation that they would reserve the entire restaurant for us. Menu suggestions would be sent to us shortly before the wedding - Mr. Ebbinghaus would like to buy regionally and seasonally. Three weeks before our wedding we received the menu proposal (with a significant delay) with a list of costs. A flat rate of €4,000 suddenly appeared on this. The celebration in Ercklentz no longer cost €8,000-9,000 but now €12,000-13,000. In the subsequent conversations and email contact, Mr. Ebbinghaus could no longer remember that we wanted to rent the entire restaurant (although this was confirmed to us by email). This only became clear to him in the telephone conversation that had taken place shortly before - that's why he has now estimated the flat rate. How can that be, with a confirmation via email for the entire restaurant? Either essential information and agreements are overlooked here - or you want a bride and groom to cover these costs because of the short notice?! According to Mr. Ebbinghaus, without this flat rate it would not be economically viable for us to celebrate our wedding with him in this setting. We were shocked by such an approach at a wedding celebration and then re-planned the entire celebration three weeks before the wedding. We didn't want to host such an important celebration with anyone who behaved like that. It is very difficult for us to imagine such a turnover being made on other days and a daily turnover of €9,000 being unsustainable. We spoke to other restaurateurs in Kempen, who were all irritated by this pricing. The food at Ercklentz is good, the rooms are nice - that's why it's 2 stars. We can't recommend anything else and advise getting everything in writing (which unfortunately didn't help enough) - or, like us, celebrating somewhere else :). We had a fantastic day thanks to Mr. Hirschmann (Kempsche Huus) and a great party afterwards in another location.

We celebrated an after wedding dinner with our family here. From the first contact through to the actual evening, the service was simply top notch. Our every wish was not only addressed, it was also implemented. The decoration was great, the food was always delicious. All the waitresses did a super nice and attentive job. We felt comfortable from the first second, I can only recommend everyone to go here.

Wir waren nach einer Wanderung am frühen Abend da. Wirklich ausgezeichnetes Essen (Meine Frau hatte einen Salat, ich Fisch mit Spargel und Risotto). Das Dessert (Schokotörtchen mit flüssigem Kern) war ebenfalls ganz toll, aber leider nicht ganz billig... 100%ige Empfehlung.

The location is furnished with style and a lot of sensitivity, outside there is a sun terrace + shady terrace. The cuisine is international with many seasonal and regional influences. Creative and absolutely fresh. This is how we got to know the Ercklentz in Kempen/Lower Rhine. Clear recommendation, prices also absolutely reasonable. We'd love to go there again!

Hello everyone dear Ercklentz team, We spontaneously went to dinner with you on May 28th, 2024 after a long drive from Hamburg. The restaurant made a nice impression from the outside. When we entered the restaurant we were greeted by a very nice young woman who immediately offered us 3 tables. We were able to quickly decide on a nice place. (In the front of the room). After a short time we received very friendly service and felt very comfortable. In addition to bread and dip, our drinks came, which were apparently made by the young woman. These were really great. After a short wait, the Ercklentz burgers came to our table with beautiful branding on the bun. The food was really delicious and looked great too. Later we were served very attentively by another woman who also offered very friendly service. We arrived here spontaneously and left feeling positive. We would really like to recommend this restaurant because the service, food and atmosphere were really great. If we are here again, this will be our first stop for a nice evening. This evening we sat down at a table outside. The waitress asked us if we had asked to sit here! There would be 2 parties this evening and it would take a very long time to eat! We were not made aware of the two companies by any reference! The lady returned and told us that we wouldn't get anything today! We are speechless!
