Restaurant Dorfwirt in Pfronten

Wir hatten zwei Suppen bestellt ( Flädelssuppe und Leberknöpflessuppe). Die Suppen waren leider total versalzen und waren wie eine " Wasserbrühe". Paprikaschnitzel bestellt. Hier kam ein Schnitzel mit einer braunen Masse. Bei der Nachfrage wurde uns gesagt, dass hier kleine Paprikastücke mit Zwiebeln die Bestandteile der "Soße" seien. Das Schnitzel war zäh wie Leder! Beim Salat wurde kein Baguette angeboten. Bei der Nachfrage bekamen wir eine Scheibe Mischbrot. Salat essigscharf. Es war kein Genuss. Fazit: nie wieder ein Restaurantbesuch im Dorfwirt!!!

We had dinner in the restaurant and were very happy with everything. The food was delicious, the service was very friendly and accommodating and the prices were more than reasonable. All in all a great experience :)

The waitresses were very nice and tried to give the best that evening. We had to wait 1.5 hours for our food, which was nothing special.

We were there last Saturday spontaneously & without a reservation for lunch, around 2 p.m. Warm food throughout, a good selection of traditional Bavarian dishes. Rustic atmosphere and extremely friendly and quick-witted service. You should be prepared for small things if necessary: - I think the staff was a bit understaffed, the service was alone and therefore the waiting times were a bit longer. No blame for the waitress, who does a great job! - A restaurant cat isn't a problem for me personally, but it does take some getting used to for some people, especially since the cat just runs around freely there - Maybe we had an inauspicious day as a previous review stated the opposite. But for all 3 dishes + soups we agreed that salt had probably been forgotten. Unfortunately the taste is a bit bland, although luckily you can help here. My pork knuckle was super crispy and excellent with salt. We will come again when we are in Pfronten!

We only ate at the restaurant and didn't stay at the hotel - they have a rather extensive range of traditional meals that can be prepared gluten free, and we thoroughly enjoyed our food, though we did have a lot of back-and-forth with the waiter discussing what changes would have to be made to the meals to make them gf even though they were marked as options that could be made gf. The staff were very friendly even if there was a little confusion at first!

The restaurant exudes real Bavarian charm - rustic furnishings, a cozy atmosphere and a menu with traditional delicacies. The prices are fair and appropriate to the offer. The service could be a little quicker, but this is clearly due to the obvious understaffing. Nevertheless, the waitress did her best with friendliness and a smile on her lips, which will be remembered very positively. The inn was well attended, which speaks for its popularity, but the high noise level means that it is not necessarily the right place for a quiet conversation. All in all, a recommended address for anyone looking for an authentic Bavarian experience and who can overlook small weaknesses. Cheers!

Absolutely not recommended! We reserved a table at 8 p.m. on New Year's Eve. The waitress was friendly and showed us to our table. We placed our order around 8:15 p.m. and waited until 9:15 p.m. for our food. We were almost ready to get up, pay for our drinks and leave. Now you would think that if the food takes so long, it would taste particularly good, but exactly the opposite was the case. My wife's roast pork was totally over salted. The sauce was an indefinable broth that quickly turned into slimy gelatin. Napkin dumplings, like the rest of the food, were oversalted and had been reheated several times. I had a currywurst with fries. Unfortunately, I missed the fact that there was gypsy sauce on the menu. Apart from the fact that I have never seen or eaten a currywurst with fries and gypsy sauce anywhere, this was the worst sauce I have ever tried. What felt like half a kilo of stewed onions in a sour vinegar sauce was served to me with my dish. Fries and currywurst were okay. Guys don't let the good reviews and pictures here fool you, the food is really not good. There were also complaints about the food and the wait at the tables next to us.

Very tasty, very friendly. Unfortunately, the staff was totally understaffed - long waits, no asking if you wanted something to drink... that's a shame but otherwise really very, very good.

The waitress was very nice, but the service was not professional, the food was terrible. I had a pork knuckle and I couldn't eat it because it was inedible. The sauce was like gelatin, the napkin dumplings were doughy and tasted a disaster. My wife had a pike perch fillet that was just dry and the vegetables were very bland. When the waitress walks around the restaurant with the cat, I call it pretty disgusting and unhygienic. So I have to honestly say I can't recommend this restaurant. The prices are outrageous for this poor quality!

The innkeeper was very polite and attentive. The food was ok except for the burnt currywurst. What was an absolute no go is the “Restaurant Cat”. We are animal lovers, but the fact that the cat sits at the table and has access everywhere is too much of a good thing. Therefore unfortunately “only” 2 stars.

Wir haben beide Schweinefilets bestellt. Die Filets waren sehr trocken, die Kässpatzen ohne Röstwiebel da nach dem Urlaub noch keine Zwiebel im Hause waren. Die Preise für die Portionsgröße eher überteuert genauso der Prei für 0,2l Rotwein. Wir werden das Gasthaus auf jeden Fall nicht mehr besuchen.

The dishes are a real joke for the prices! Currywurst with tomato sauce out of the packaging... Fresh. Definitely tastes different. Small portion and not fresh.

Extremely family friendly. There is an extra room with a well-equipped play area. Each child gets a children's menu to color and the artwork is even immortalized on the wall. Very nicely done. The food was good and the prices were okay. We would go again.

We were passing through and spontaneously chose this restaurant. We just wanted something quick to eat but everything was full or reserved but we were given a table at short notice and then served quickly and our food was with us quickly. The food in the Dorfwirt is very tasty. I had a knuckle and it was really crispy and juicy. The sauce with it tastes great, when I'm in Pfronten the Dorfwirt is a "must" for us. You should book a table in advance as it is always busy.

The service was friendly. Unfortunately we had to wait a long time for the food, even though it wasn't particularly full. Unfortunately the food wasn't tasty at all. The rösti was almost borderline raw and the chili was more of a tomato sauce with 5 kidney beans and a few corn kernels in it, plus mushy parboiled rice from the cooking bag. Only the service and ambience are good here, we can't recommend the food.

Not recommended!!! -were initially ignored until we were finally able to place the drink order. -We then ordered the food right away. -The waiter was friendly but... a bit overwhelmed. -We really had to wait 1.5 hours for our food. We could have understood it if it had been busy, but the beer garden was only half full and there were only 4 guests sitting inside. After complaining several times we got our food. Others waited even longer. -Price-performance ratio of the food is poor: Quality is average at best - not particularly tasty but not bad either. Portion size is normal. Price for a few Gschwollenen with potato salad 16 euros. -I expect at least good service and not 1.5 hours of waiting time in a half-empty restaurant. -Price for a giant currywurst with homemade curry sauce 15 euros. What's supposed to be huge about the sausage - I have no idea. At most 10% larger than a normal grilled sausage. The homemade curry sauce is tomato ketchup mixed with curry powder. -the children's schnitzel is okay for 9 euros. -The beer garden is actually quite nice, but unfortunately it is right on the main street. All in all, not recommended.

Nice, quick-witted - I like the landlord. Beer comes straight away and only a 5 minute wait for the food. My room was large and clean. Fits!

For us one of the best restaurants in Pfronten. The spare ribs are definitely a must, but other dishes have always been really tasty. In addition, great service, everyone was very warm and friendly. We enjoy coming to the Dorfwirt every year on vacation.

Very child-friendly with a great play area. The food is also very child-friendly - I would have loved to eat the children's schnitzel myself. Food (fillet and Maultaschen including cheese spaetzle) were super tasty and more than enough. The price is a bit high but ok. Service was very nice. It wasn't too crowded so we were served quickly.

Very nice staff, although there was a bit of stress for a moment when a thunderstorm came and everyone stormed into the restaurant. The food was great and plentiful. I always think it would be great if there was a small side salad with it, but that wasn't the case, which isn't a bad thing. I'll remember it for next time. Will definitely go there again because the other dishes also looked delicious.

Definitely worth a stop and overnight stay.

The waitress kept walking past us. When we finally placed our order after 30 minutes, we waited forever again. The food finally came before our drinks and even after we repeatedly pointed out that we were missing drinks for 10 minutes, the drinks continued to arrive. The dishes are a real joke for the prices! Drizzle the salad with the ready-made dressing and dry it. We definitely do not recommend this restaurant.

I don't understand some of the reviews here! What's supposed to taste good in this restaurant is a mystery to me. No one has ever given me food like that. My son, who is a good eater, just tasted it and refused to eat any more. (He had meat loaf) My food (roast pork) also tasted disgusting. We're talking about home cooking here. This almost does itself. Why do people mess up these foods like this? The prices are outrageous! The amount of food was little! The service was nice but still very unprofessional.

The Gasthof Dorfwirt in Pfronten delights locals (we got a tip 😉) as well as holidaymakers. The menu offers a wide selection of traditional dishes. The food was very tasty and the staff was friendly.

We stayed at the Dorfwirt for 2 nights and felt very comfortable.

Beautiful ambience, incredible service and very good food. Even on busy days the service is always great and the food is always hot and homemade.

Excellent typical restaurant where I also slept as it was provided with rooms for two days. It is located in Pfronten, about twenty minutes by car from Fussen and the famous castles of Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau, where the prices for staying are decidedly higher. The owner is really kind and I ate very well and above all I drank excellent beer!

We ate at the Dorfwirt twice and it was very tasty. There are some vegetarian and even vegan dishes, which surprised us positively in a German restaurant. The waitresses are also all extremely friendly and accommodating. If we are in the region again, we will definitely come back there.

Excellent Bavarian cuisine 👍🏻 We got caught in a thunderstorm on the way to the village inn and arrived there soaking wet. The innkeepers were very helpful and gave us towels - very accommodating 😊🤗 The food was delicious, typically Bavarian...we'll be here for a few more days and would like to eat there again.😋

The three of us were in the beer garden. Food not special. Schnitzel not fresh. Very few fries. Only the price was above average. For a Pils, not even cool for 4.70, you can mention that. There are much better ones in town. A pity

We/5 people had booked the holiday apartment for a week. Even in the entrance area it only smelled of grease and on the stairs to the apartment you had to be careful not to get stuck! The kettle was completely calcified and the coffee pot was black. After we pointed this out, the kettle was cleaned and we were given a new coffee machine. Unfortunately, that wasn't everything. The worktop was sticky, the fridge wasn't clean, the toilet was dirty, the mirrors in the bathrooms (3 bathrooms) and in the hallway weren't cleaned. (Water splashes, smeared...) There was mold on the wall in the hallway, and there were crumbs on the floor. One of the three bedrooms was a larger storage room for me! Here, among other things, a children's bed was placed in front of the wardrobe. This then had to be pushed aside to get to the cupboard. There were socks under the bed and what I would describe as the core of a piece of fruit was lying next to it. We had booked the accommodation with a terrace. We weren't able to use it because the kitchen chimney/exhaust ran right here and it only smelled like grease. Furthermore, a film of grease had settled over almost the entire terrace. When you first (and last) entered you thought you were on black ice. Ventilation / or. It was not possible to open the windows because of the pervasive smell of grease in all the rooms. Conclusion for this apartment: a total failure

We had a very bad experience at the Dorfwirt restaurant in Pfronten today. We wanted to have lunch there and since it was raining lightly and we were traveling with our 3 month old son, we asked if we could sit inside. We were told that was fine and given a menu. The terrace was about a third full, yet we were completely ignored inside the restaurant. Despite the fact that a member of staff had seen us, we were forgotten for about half an hour. We finally left the restaurant disappointed. It's the first time something like this has happened to us and we are very dissatisfied with the service. Luckily we found another restaurant nearby, Gasthof Adler, where both the food and service were excellent.

We have always received courteous service and the food has always been tasty and the portions were good. The waitresses are super nice and funny. We really enjoy going there

A very simple village restaurant with extremely simple food, which would generally be completely fine, you just don't suspect it at all given the pricing and assume it's top gastronomy. Unfortunately, the quality of the goods, the quantity and, above all, the craftsmanship of the preparation do not come close to matching the very, very high prices.

Honestly, save yourself the trip there. If you go to the Adler or Schankwirt or Aggenstein, you can get good food and the quality is 100% a bit expensive, but you won't be annoyed afterwards by the service, who are constantly smoking nearby and let alone not washing their hands and grabbing a beer. (Not to mention the food is inedible) Hygiene is a foreign word here and the service is so intrusive and unpleasant. Overall, the atmosphere wasn't nice there at all!

One star because of the beautiful children's corner and the nice staff. 4 stars deducted because of the bad food. First of all, you should expect that the spaetzle in an Allgäu restaurant is fresh and homemade - but here you can't get spaetzle out of a package for expensive money. Then to the zander fillet: I didn't think a fish could be done wrong, it was dry and totally tasteless. The vegetables underneath are still too hard or too cooked and have no taste. The side dish of a spinach strudel with a sweet (most likely pre-packaged) strudel dough intended for apple strudel was the point in terms of taste at which I stopped eating and decided it was over for me there. I wouldn't have paid for the fish and ultimately I didn't have to. It's a shame that you have to leave a restaurant hungry, but it's better that way than with poor quality and poorly prepared food in your stomach that is sold at a high price. We also found it terrible that our table was very sticky, but we should have already noticed that it wouldn't be so good there. But well, I tried it and that was it. Pfronten has a few restaurants, so we'll definitely find something better next time because it doesn't take much to type.
