I spontaneously got a cookie in the evening, so lucky! The guest room in the old half-timbered building is very cozy, with class and flair. The service was warm and competent, Michaela and Alla had the full shop under control at all times. The homemade pasta was excellent, it couldn't be better. The wine list is predominantly regional, but that's not a bad thing as it offers a colorful selection of different types, styles and producers of wine, so there is something suitable for every dish and every taste. The 'Illusion' Blanc de Noir, from the Gies-Düppel winery, harmonized excellently with the Pasta della Casa with its fine, mineral fruit. Many thanks to the whole team!

The new owners do everything to make their guests happy: attentive service, a feel-good atmosphere, a great selection on the menu. We had COLORFUL LEAF SALADS FROM LANDAUER MARKT as a starter and the ESCLUSIVO as our main course! “CHATEAUBRIAND” for 2 people. Both the presentation and the serving of the main course at the table were unique, sensational and entertaining! The Golden Willi is also recommended! The service was super nice, friendly, accommodating and communicative! The quality of both the starter and the main course was outstanding! Good quality has its price, so the prices are absolutely justified! If you are in the beautiful Palatinate, then go to Maikammer - if you are in Maikammer, then go to the village chronicle! Top notch!

Great location with a real feel-good atmosphere. Excellent service, the lovely and authentic boss is a patisserie artist, her husband Stefan is worthy of any star cuisine. New in the village chronicle since February 2025: Very nice atmosphere in which you can only feel comfortable. The hosts ensure that you are well looked after and that a nice, warm atmosphere is spread. The authentic Italian pasta is a highlight as both a starter and a main course. The dishes are creative and designed with attention to detail. The food, from starter to dessert, is consistently high quality and very tasty. There is something for everyone. It was our first visit to the village chronicle in Maikammer. It is by far the best restaurant we have visited recently. The rump steak was sensational, as was the homemade tiramisu. With the antpasti, as well as with the steak and tiramisu, we could see that the heart of “depüngelers” beats with passion for the highest quality and cooking at the highest level. Congratulations on the more than successful opening. We'd love to come back.

Great cuisine in a beautiful atmosphere! A steak that couldn't be better, a pasta straight from the boss's family recipe book (from Bella Italia, of course) to dream of. The finest tuna mixed with friendly staff from a good-humoured group, it couldn't be better. The Püngeler’s have mastered the takeover with flying colors and are giving the old village chronicle a new face. Fantastic! Speaking of fantastic, the dessert was sensational. Homemade tiramisu at its best and an arrangement of raspberries, nuts and tonga beans that was almost too pretty to eat but of course we didn't want to deny our taste buds this joy. Thank you!

The absolute highlight at the end: the “Banksy” dessert! 🎈✨ Created personally by the boss, it surprises with creative presentation and exceptional taste - a real statement on the plate! The DorfChronik reopened on February 1, 2025 with a new team - I already have very fond memories of it from the Schneider restaurant in Dernbach. The menu has a clear Italian influence. The food is excellent. Also worth highlighting are the boss’s original dessert creations. The service is attentive and very friendly, the atmosphere is very pleasant. I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

Yesterday we went to the Püngelers' new restaurant for the first time. The two of them served a fantastic menu, a delight for all the senses. We had high expectations of this restaurant, as we have been guests in Dernbach in the past at the "Schneider" restaurant several times. The food there was always unique. We were not disappointed in the village chronicle either, which was not to be expected when a Stefan Püngeler sets up his own business ready.Short and sweet: She has everything under control.The food here is simply brilliant, absolute star cuisine.We can only recommend the Chateaubriand.Hello!!! As expected, everything fits: great location, warm, attentive service and fresh, creative cuisine with a lot of Mediterranean influence. After our dance evening we discovered this restaurant. Despite the somewhat late time, we were offered a nice spot and were allowed to order delicious truffle fries. The tiramisu from the next table left our mouths hanging open...wow. Since we couldn't decide on the wine straight away, we were offered a tasting sip. Our evening ended with a tasty coffee. The hostess is the heart. We'll meet Again!

Old, cozy inn. We were a bit unsure at first because the overall price level was higher than expected. But then we realized that it was really worth the money. The dishes were imaginative, delicious, nicely presented. Unusual creations, for example black pudding quiche. Sounds gross, but it was delicious! The home-grown wines are highly recommended, favorite: Cuvee dry barrique. Be sure to reserve early, as space is limited in the cozy restaurant.

The food was really fantastic! Unfortunately the service/possibly... The owner also made sure that we didn't feel comfortable! I reserved almost 1 week in advance and when we arrived we were shown a table. Unfortunately we mixed him up and we sat down. Instead of politely pointing out that we were sitting at the wrong table, we were asked to vacate the table in an extremely unfriendly tone because it was set for 3 people instead of 2. We were now supposed to sit down at a narrow table for 2 people in an extremely bad position! After we said that this table was not acceptable to us if we reserved it in advance, we were given a table in the next room. It would have been completely okay if two people hadn't come in, who were greeted with kisses and seated at the table that we just had to leave because it was set up for three people. When we asked why two people who apparently hadn't made a reservation got the table, we were told that they were regular guests. When we asked about the third person, we were told that they were still coming. Blatant lie, no one came anymore. Conclusion: Despite really good food, we wouldn't come here again! The receptionist's behavior was an absolute no-go!

We come here every year for the garden market, among other things. Very nice, cozy restaurant with a rustic outdoor area that invites you to linger. A fine menu from great young chefs. We went for the summer menu (summer, light, Mediterranean 6 courses) and it was a feast for the eyes and the palate. The accompanying wines from our own cultivation went perfectly with the dishes. Birthday invitation, didn't know the place, was pleasantly surprised. Not typical Palatinate cuisine, but fine gourmet dishes, very well prepared and appealing to the eye. During our visit the service was friendly and attentive, but I can't understand the negative reviews I only read after our meal. The ambience is a successful combination of rustic charm, wooden beams, exposed brickwork and modern art. There's also a quaint courtyard for nice weather.

I really liked the menu. The craftsmanship was high quality and all the dishes were absolutely diverse. The combination of each with fresh elements gives the dishes a nice depth on the one hand, but also a certain filigree and finesse on the other. This combination of finesse and fine precision seems to me to be the result of the concentration that the kitchen team tries to implement. Even if some fine-tuning can still be possible here and there, I like that the kitchen doesn't seem too forced or too strenuous. Everything seems very well thought out and harmonious to me.

We stopped there after the hike. We only read the menu at the table 😅. Priced in a higher category 😅. The waitress noticed this. She kindly said that we could just have a drink, but then we would have to change tables, even though there were no tables occupied in the restaurant at the time. My girlfriend and I then decided to eat something. I had a large steak with a very small side of potato cake. The plate was very simply prepared. The meat was delicious and buttery tender. I would have liked more side dishes for this price. We found it a bit overpriced. By the way, the other guests' plates were also completely empty. We ate well, but weren't full.

We were there with a group of five people for the menu evening and once again had a wonderful evening. As we all know, the eye eats and every course was beautifully prepared, with great attention to detail. The different flavors were also coordinated and creatively implemented. We thought for a long time whether we should comment on our New Year's Eve visit. We do it because we were surprised and annoyed afterwards. We have reserved the menu for New Year's Eve for 4 people for €98 per person. On December 31st, our friend got lumbago and had to be treated by the emergency doctor. So the couple dropped out and I called the village chronicle in the morning and let them know. Of course it was very annoying and of course very sad for us couples. My husband and I then went alone. The food was tasty, but not in proportion to the price. The wine accompaniment (4 x 0.1 l wine) cost €19. In addition to our €200 meal price, we had an additional €50 in drinks to reduce the “damage” a bit. When we cashed in we actually had to pay a €50 “fine” for our friends. The €50 did not appear on the receipt but went directly into the owner's cash register. An absolute no go for a place like this. By the way, everyone we told it to thought so!

The food is very tasty, but in my opinion the price-performance ratio is not right. In terms of size, the vegetarian main course of potato cake was a maximum of a starter at a price of €28, red wine from our own winery for €48, price for direct purchase €19. That has no bearing on me

Children not welcome. Extremely tense atmosphere. We were constantly being assessed/observed. Felt unwelcome. Upscale cuisine or not, if that means interpersonal relationships are completely lost.

A year ago we went to dinner in the village chronicle and were thrilled. Because of this, we were back today and were just disappointed. The salad and the dressing, zero eight fifteen, we would have gotten better at the chip shop. The main course was simply shoveled onto the plate. We saved ourselves the dessert. And the worst thing, we were sitting outside and we were attacked by nasty flies. An absolute failure.

Unfortunately, before any words were exchanged, we were scrutinized in advance and apparently not considered worthy. We wanted to end the evening after a long day of hiking. Here, however, we were immediately turned away without much exchange. Even in the event that there is no free table, you can express yourself differently as a house with a Michelin star. For us, this is not a restaurant that meets the customs of 2023. We felt absolutely unwelcome and wouldn't ask for a table again. A pity.

Innen sehr schön eingerichtet, tolle stilvolle Mischung aus klassischen und modernen Elementen. Bedienung sehr nett, tolles Timing, angenehm. Das Essen war auch makellos, rundum sehr zu empfehlen. Achtung Touristen: Wir haben nach unserem Essen kein Taxi mehr bekommen und mussten zu Fuß zum Bahnhof laufen. (Natürlich kein "Punktabzug" für das Restaurant deswegen)

Wir waren an einem Samstag Abend dort essen, obwohl der Laden komplett gefüllt war, war der Service sehr zuvorkommend. Das Essen kam schnell und sehr lecker bei uns an. Sehr schöne Gerichte. Schönes Ambiente. Sehr empfehlenswert. Kommen gerne wieder!

Der Restaurant Innenraum ist ein gelungener Mix aus alt und modern. Die Gerichte sind kreativ und von gehobener Qualität. Keine Pfälzer Dreifaltigkeit aus Saumagen, Leberknödel und Bratwurst auf der Karte. Zum Glück. Die Portionen sind angemessen groß und bepreist. Es gibt etliche Weine offen, auch als 0,1l Glas sowie gute Auswahl and Flaschenwein die preislich OK sind. Service war sehr nett und Flott, die Wartezeit war recht kurz. Gerne wieder.

Mittelmäßig, überteuert und bedenklich! Wir hatten die "Dorfchronik" extra anhand der sehr guten Bewertungen aufgesucht und wollten mal in einem mehrfach ausgezeichneten Restaurant essen. Aber lesen Sie selbst: Es ist ein schickes, gemütliches Restaurant im Familienbetrieb, wenn wir auch aufgrund der Eigenwerbung "Gemütlichkeit und Essgenuss" zu mindestens beim Essgenuss enttäuscht wurden. Wir hatten FEINES VOM HEIMISCHEN HIRSCHKALB und ZANDER. Portionen in so einem Bib Gourmand, Michelin usw. Restaurant sind ja meistens nie besonders groß, aber muss es "Ein klitzekleines Medaillon" in Größe eines alten 5-Mark Stückes sein oder "Zander, so groß wie zwei Fischstäbchen für sage und schreibe 65,00 EUR? Der Zander war sogar sehr gut, aber das kleine Medaillon gab es erst im zweiten Anlauf. Die erste Lieferung ging gründlich daneben: Bemerkte der Koch noch zum Barkeeper, "dass man das Hirschkalb" nicht mehr servieren könnte, ich hab schon versucht das beste herauszuschneiden", meinte man, es mir dennoch servieren zu können: Sehnig durch und durch, keine Chance irgendwie das Fleisch abzulösen! War das Euer Ernst mir das trotzdem anzubieten? Und dann der Klassiker Satz der Chefin "im Fleisch steckt man leider nicht drin". Hey, wenn Euer Koch so etwas schon bemerkt, ist das eine Frechheit es doch noch dem Gast unterzujubeln". Meine Stimmung war dahin. Was mich aber noch mehr aufgeregt hat, war, dass man am Ende eine "Zwischenrechnung" bekommt, kein zertifizierter Kassenbon. Erst auf meine deutliche Nachfrage, was das soll, hieß es von der Chefin" Also, wenn Sie einen richtigen Bewirtungsbeleg brauchen, bekommen Sie auch den". Ich erwiderte, ich brauch keinen Bewirtungsbeleg, sondern einen Bon, der die steuerlichen Anforderungen und Merkmale enthält. Erst danach gab es eine ordnungsgemäße "Rechnung". Und liebe Familie Schwaab: So etwas geht nicht! Wenn jetzt noch der Klassiker kommt, "wir warten erstmal ab, ob der Kunde bar oder mit Karte bezahlt", vergessen Sie es, das müssen Sie vorher abfragen. Fazit: Herbe Enttäuschung, so was braucht kein Mensch.

Delicös, eine exzellentes Menue ,im Geschmack, ein ob Wirsing, Couscous, ein Erleben en detailliert, Tomate oh es war wundervoll, wie alles ,das willkommen, heißen,die angenehme ,Art, beim ,auswählen, der ,Service der Damen, stilvoll ,legere ,das freuen, selbst der beiden Damen, beim anfragen, exzellent, mit einem Esprit fachkundig ,mit Leib und Seele serviert Charme, so mit non chalence ,weil es einfach jedoch, laessig eine sehr gehobene Kategorie ist die hervorragend leicht so schoen ,ein klein od 8n der Schatz Truhe der Erinnerung, bleibend ist Mercie herzlichen Dank Madame schwab und Madame das ist koennen Küche Interieur und Service danke

We had a very special evening today at the newly opened wine restaurant. We wanted to try everything, so we opted for the Palatinate tapas, which were consistently impressive. The service is particularly child-friendly and warm, and the restaurant delights with its beautiful ambiance. Perfect for a romantic evening. We'll be back 🍷 ❤️
