A little dark outside the door. But we still went in because there were some guests in there. Were not disappointed. The food was great. The service was very nice. Prices ok.

Nice little restaurant. The pasta with prawns in tomato cream sauce is highly recommended. The service was great. Ambiance also nice. If you quickly feel disturbed by families with children because of the noise, this may not be the right restaurant for you. In my opinion, sometimes that kind of thing is just part of it. And the important thing is the taste of the food anyway. Conclusion: Totally recommended. Since I think there is always room for improvement, 4 stars.

Noodles are the best in the valley!! I think 9 euros for a few mini champions with crumbled cheese is a disgrace.

I have often ordered pasta, unfortunately in 3 out of 4 cases it happened that the pasta was completely dry. It's really a shame, it used to be better.

Always happy to be a guest in the restaurant, today ordered delivery for home for the first time. The food came on time at the specified time. First-class hygienic packaging. All dishes, in this case a pizza and two pasta dishes as well as tiramisu, were perfectly tempered. Conclusion: always happy, highly recommended!

Food, drink, service all okay. The men's room is extremely spartan. Just one small room for large and small businesses. If there is a large crowd there will be problems. I had to wait about three to four minutes until it was “free”.

Update: Some things changed after the renovation. It used to have charm, was something special and the staff was top, but today it has unfortunately deteriorated. Enlarged, prices raised, pizza rolls removed "to go with the pasta dish" and the guys (employees) chat loudly about private stuff, giggle and are unfriendly to the guests. On the toilet I had to remove the glasses from the lid TWICE (if I wanted to change them to black and square) and that was just disgusting because it was difficult to do. Water doesn't drain properly and it smells like sewage. We are no longer regular guests and our conclusion: Sometimes you should just leave things as they are. "Charm" is gone...so are we!! Greetings to the old staff! That was top. BEFORE CONVERSION my review! Absolutely unbeatable for pasta, pizza and friendliness!! The staff is extremely friendly and we have never had any reason to complain. When friends come to visit us, we go to Donatello!! We are regulars and just can't get enough of the "piquant penne"!! The tea that Donatello offers you free of charge at the end rounds off the visit. Stay exactly as you are. You are the best !!

The food and service are good, we would love to come back.

There were enough of them in the tagliatelle with scampi. The sauce was OK so far. Maybe it could be updated with a little white wine and a squeeze of lemon.

The Turkish Italian… First you have to say that the food is great. The portions are more than enough, it's hot and tastes delicious. All of this at a very fair price. The questionable thing is the purely “Italian” menu with pizza, pasta, etc. in combination with oriental music and free black tea at the end. Perhaps an espresso would be more appropriate here, apart from the fact that even children get black tea...

You can definitely go here for a quick portion of pasta or pizza in town. The ambience is ok, we had nothing to complain about the service. The food came very quickly. However, this was also reflected in the quality. Because in my opinion, Donatello should be viewed as a snack bar, not a restaurant. The quantity is plentiful. It also tastes good, but not at restaurant level. But it is also comparatively cheap. Overall, the price/performance ratio suits me.

After the renovation in a wonderful ambience. You can also sit outside. The food is so delicious and the wine is too. Very friendly service. A big recommendation for Barmen, also the only restaurant in the city center. Wonderful

Die Kellnerinnen waren total unfreundlich, wir wollten einfach essen und uns wurde gesagt, dass wir nur 30 Minuten dafür haben. Wir haben gesagt ä, dass es kein Problem ist, wir schaffen das und haben gefragt, wo wir sitzen können. Aber ne Kellnerin hat mit der Unzufriedenheit noch mal gesagt, dass wir keine Zeit haben und wir haben einfach gesagt, dass wir kein Bock mehr haben da zu bleiben. Sehr schlechte Bedienung!!!

Unfortunately it wasn't as intended. The pizza was okay, but a bit too many toppings. Unfortunately the spaghetti Bolognese was not homemade. The service was still very friendly, but there are better solutions to place a guest directly in the entrance area, where the cold air is constantly coming in your back.

I ordered a Diavolo pizza to take away. The pizza was great. The dough as it should be. The base is nice and thin, the edge is airy and crispy. One of the best pizzas I've eaten in a long time. Top.

Super tasty, is the first thing that comes to mind. Big portion. I had vegetable stir fry with chicken. My sisters tagliatelle with shrimps. Great, fast service and reasonable prices. I'd love to come back.

We had dinner here before going to a concert on Saturday. Although the restaurant was full to the last chair, the atmosphere was extremely pleasant (children at the next table were treated very kindly) and we were also greeted in an exceptionally friendly manner by the staff and were very well looked after. The food came to the table quickly (tortellini with sauce and large salad with tuna, pizza rolls and aioli). The pizza rolls were a blast! I've never eaten something so good. Everything was freshly prepared and the tuna in the salad was very mild (I often have problems with that - I get heartburn later - not an issue here at all). After paying, they even wanted to invite us for tea, which we unfortunately had to decline due to time constraints. It was good that we had reserved in advance, otherwise there wouldn't have been any free space - but given the friendliness and the good food, that's no wonder. If we come to Wuppertal again, we will definitely come back. Thank you for starting a really great evening ❤️

This is the first time I have met such an unfriendly waitress. At the beginning when she took the order she was just arrogant and in the end she even asked her colleague to take the payment. Guys work well but I ran into a girl today and I hope I won't see her again😖

The best pasta is only available from them

We were there for the first time two weeks ago and were thrilled with the service and especially the food. Today we ordered for 6 people and I can only return the same thing as 2 weeks ago. The food arrived hot today for an order for 6 people. Whether it was pasta pizza or vegetables, everything tasted great and we can only recommend it

Food was good. Ambience leaves a lot to be desired. Nice service, a bit overwhelmed by the order.

I was a regular customer for years, but now the service has become worse and worse and at the same time the price has risen higher and higher. But what broke the camel's back was the last order with my friends, we ordered for around 80 euros and more than half were delivered incorrectly, only one was given to us! COLA offered as “compensation” (+70€ order). When we insisted on the things we ordered, they were delivered later, but since then our friend's address has been on their blacklist. I find this behavior from the owner and his children very disrespectful towards us regular customers since the mistake was on their side The store was located and we were in no way insulting to the staff, so we will completely boycott this store in the future.

As a regular customer for years, I have always preferred this place over other restaurants. The price-performance ratio was also right. Unfortunately I cannot say this about the last 3 years. Constant changes of employees, long waiting times for deliveries, incompetent service including incorrect deliveries of orders and as regular customers we have now shown an enormous amount of patience. But that's finally over. The last delivery was the last straw. The order was carefully transmitted to the employee by telephone in understandable language. Lo and behold, another wrong delivery. When I called back, only a drink was offered for the overpriced wrong delivery of around €70. And only after further inquiries was the correct order delivered and I remained patient throughout the phone call. From that point on it was clear to me that I would boycott this restaurant. My patient colleague wanted to give the restaurant one last chance. Unfortunately, when he ordered, he found out that he had been put on a so-called "blacklist", which means that he would not be delivered. All in all, the following can be summarized. Incompetence. Unfriendly. Not capable of criticism. No insight. Bad service ergo Never againDonnatelloBarmen.

Price/performance is great. You should make a reservation as it is quite small. But great restaurant

As a former regular customer, I can only advise against the store. The quality of the food has decreased and the price has become more and more expensive. The staff has also become more and more incompetent.

Ich habe mir die Pizza mit frischen Tomate, Mozzarella, Oliven und Knoblauch bestellt, zum Mitnehmen. Die Pizza war äußerst üppig mit Käse belegt, wobei ich mich frage, ob dieses Mozzarella war. Ich kenne Mozzarella in der Farbe weiß, aber nicht Goudagelb. Es waren einige Oliven, drei Scheiben Tomaten und viel Käse drauf. Knoblauch war leider nur das Öl. Der Teig war sehr locker und erinnerte mehr an den amerikanischen Style, als an eine italienische Steinofenpizza, die krosser ist. Der Preis mit 8,50 €, tja, bei den heutigen Preisen wohl gerechtfertigt. Geschmacklich war die Pizza von dem sehr üppigen Käse stark überlagert. Mein Fazit ist: ich werde dort nicht mehr hingehen. Alleine schon, wenn man mitbekommt das die Gäste am Nebentisch um einen Lappen gebeten haben damit man die Klebestelle noch einmal wischt. Der Kellner kam sofort mit einem feuchten Lappen und hat die Stelle gereinigt. Der Gast hat dann mit einer Papierserviette die Stelle nachträglich getrocknet. Das Ambiente ist bemüht, den italienischen Flair zu bieten. Da ich die Pizza zum Mitnehmen bestellt habe, wurde mir auf meine Bitte hin eine große Plastiktüte gegeben, damit ich den Karton besser transportieren konnte. Dafür bekommt der Service einen Stern mehr.

Sehr lekker der Donatello Grillteller

Die Pizza hat uns generell recht gut geschmeckt - auch wenn ich defiitiv kein Fan vom Grieß im Teig bin. Ein inzwischen leider weit verbreiteter Kniff, um den Boden besonders knusprig zu machen ... ich mag es aber weder vom Geschmack noch von der Haptik bzw. dem Mundgefühl. Wir bevorzugen Pizza ganz klassisch, echt italienisch. Der Rand war für unseren Geschack etwas trocken und der Sauce hätten ein paar Gewürze mehr nicht geschadet. Salami, Schinken und Co. sind auf Geflügelbasis und könnten schmackhafter sein. Sehr schön fanden wir aber das frische Knolauch- und Chilliöl als Topping. Insgesamt ein gemütlicher, sauberer Laden mit freundlichem Personal und guten Portionsgrößen.

Bisher habe ich nur vor Ort in dem wirklich hübschen Restaurant gegessen, und heute haben wir zum ersten Mal Lieferung bestellt... Wir waren ganz begeistert, das Essen war sehr gut (mein Partner die Pizza Donatello und ein Tartufo, ich Pizza Spinat), die Lieferung schneller als gedacht und der Preis absolut angemessen! Mein persönliches Highlight: Ich hatte eine Spinatpizza ohne Käse bestellt (ich mag halt keinen Käse) und 10 Minuten nach der Bestellung kam ein Rückruf "Sie hatten eine Pizza ohne Käse bestellt!? Der Pizzabäcker hat gesagt, das wird zu trocken und schmeckt dann nicht so gut... Dürfte man ein paar Tomaten oder Champions drauf machen?" Das zeigt mir, dass man bei Donatello sehr daran interessiert ist, dass es den Kunden schmeckt! 👍👍👍von mir! Da werden wir immer wieder bestellen und auch gerne ins Restaurant kommen

Essen war aller bester Güte. Nur beim Service war es leider dürftig. Zwar freundlich aber es wurde nach dem Essen erst nach 20 Minuten abgeräumt und es wurde nicht nach Nachspeise oder Getränken gefragt. Schade

Nettes kleines Lokal mit sehr freundlicher Bedienung. Essen war sehr gut, besonders die Pasta. Pizza auch Top. Leider keine Kartenzahlung möglich.

Vor zwei Wochen war ich hier essen, und man merkt schon, dass hier ungelernte Köche am Werk sind. Ich weiß nicht, ob es ein Franchise ist. Das Essen finde ich okay, aber leider nicht gut. Das Restaurant versucht, ein italienisches Restaurant zu sein, aber ohne Schweinefleisch, was auch in Ordnung ist. Ich hatte einen Pasta-Teller mit Champignons, Hähnchenfleisch und Paprika für 9,5 Euro bestellt. Es war lecker, aber man konnte leider auch den Geschmack von Vegeta herausschmecken. Das ist nicht schlimm, aber wenn das Hähnchenfleisch dann sehr zäh und trocken ist, zerstört es einfach das gesamte Gericht. Als ob das noch nicht genug wäre, kommt auf dem Teller auch noch gefriergetrocknete Petersilie hinzu. Danke für den bitteren Beigeschmack gratis obendrauf. Mit ein bisschen Know-how könnte man das Gericht leicht um 30-40% verbessern, ohne großen Aufwand. Bratet einfach die Hähnchenbrust ganz und ggf. marinieren, sodass sie schön saftig bleibt und Geschmack enthält, ohne Geschmacksverstärker.

Tolles Essen, zuvorkommender Service, preiswert. Was will man mehr? Kein Vergleich zu „6.000 Miles to Napoli“! Nicht falsch verstehen! Das ist kein * Italiener, aber solides, gutes Essen.

Sind ganz neu nach Wuppertal gezogen und haben beim Spaziergang durch Barmen das tolle Restaurant entdeckt und sogleich ausprobiert. Erstklassiger und zuvorkommender Service. Das Essen war auf jeden Fall super lecker und mega frisch. Ganz besonders klasse finde ich das wir zum Abschluss eine Tasse Tee auf's Haus bekommen haben. Die 5 Sterne hat das Restaurant Donatello auf jeden Fall verdient. Ihr habt definitiv zwei Stammkunden bekommen 😃😃

Waren heute das erste Mal hier , weil man in einer neuen Wohn Umgebung auch die Gastronomie austesten muss . Absolut verdiente 5*. Tolle Gastfreundschaft, Service und sehr leckeres Essen . Es war nicht unser letzter Besuch 😉

Wirklich sehr gut, leckeres Essen freundliche Bedienung und mitten in der Stadt. Die Preise finde ich auch den ausgegeben Portionen sehr gut. Wenn in barmen sind gehen auf jeden Fall wieder hier essen. Mir fehlt hier nur leider das Bier, daher nur vier Punkte für den Service.
